Opinions de Mumu Hot Pot Foster City
Meat lovers for 2 was definitely filling for us. Combined with the meat, the veggies and carbs totally put us over and we were stuffed by the end of it. Quality of meat was great, veggies were all fresh and delicious. The house ramen was super super good though and I'm tempted to JUST come here for that haha. Mushroom broth was yummy and filled with umami but I preferred the sukiyaki more with that sweetness Food: 8/10 Service: 7/10 Vibes: 7/10 Value: 6/10
Don't know if my appetite and tastebuds have changed, but, I don't really like AYCE hot pot anymore! NO, Im not knocking it, it's just not for me anymore? Can't get my money's worth like I used to! Mumu (Foster City) is my new favorite hot pot spot! I could probably eat here once a week, every week! I usually go for one of the two "Meat Lovers" menus. One is regular for $58 for party of 2 and the other is "premium" w/ better quality of meat, for $98. The premium includes melt in your mouth wagyu!😋 There are 7 flavorful soup bases you can choose from including mushroom and spicy Tom Yum. They also have a nice sauce bar where you can make your own signature sauces for dipping. Love how bright and clean and sterile the restaurant is and the great level of service. Never been to the other locations in Sunnyvale or Pleasanton. Lots of parking lot parking.
Amazing place with great service and healthy meal options…highly recommend this to everyone.
Awesome hot pot, we drive across the bridge from Hayward to eat here, family tradition
Truly the greatest hot pot I have ever had and great value for the money. The meat quality is very good and the mushroom sauce is divine. My go to place when I crave hot pot. The SF location is also just as good.
Meat lovers for 2 was definitely filling for us. Combined with the meat, the veggies and carbs totally put us over and we were stuffed by the end of it. Quality of meat was great, veggies were all fresh and delicious. The ingredients used here is definitely top notch. How do you tell? By not having any sauce at all when you eat the food. It still tastes delicious. Compare this to some other places, where if you don't use any sauce, you may think: it is some kind of meat, I think, or it is some kind of vegetable, I think, but has no taste. This place, it is like: beef has beef taste, and every type of vegetable has their own taste. Also, eating here, you get a good portion of vegetable per meal.

Also, eating here, you get a good portion of vegetable per meal, unlike some other US places, where they give you one or two tiny pieces of broccoli, and call it the vegetable you should have with your meal. Note that recently, they seem to put less effort into washing the vegetable (as compared to half a year or one year ago), so this is one thing I hope they can improve on.
Great place! First time I went there the workers explained to me hlw it worked, suggested some dishes. What I chose was delicious, definitely will return.
Been coming here for a while. Hotpot is authentic and this comes from someone who’s lived in China. My friend and I always get the set which comes with two meets, two side, two carbs and a veg medley. Plenty of food and comes out to abt $80 for two ppl including tax. Service is attentive and efficient.
Great hot pot place! Love their sauce station!!
I love Mumu! I'm still trying to be safe and only do outdoor dining and they are still doing this. They're also really nice and thoughtful - I went a couple days ago when it was super cold and they made sure the heaters were on and brought hot water to drink and checked on us often and showed genuine concern. Food is always great quality and comes fast.
One of the best hot-pot places I’ve been to. They have great vegetarian options and the staff is super helpful if you are a hotpot newbie! 10/10 would recommend.
Love this place! Always a comfortable vibe. Delicious hot pot. I recommend to anybody and everybody. The staff are super attentive and chill. 10s, 10s across the board.
TLDR: Overall: Lovely, tasty hotpot experience, and vegetarian-friendly! My Order: Sichuan Broth, lots of different noodles, veggies, tofu, and so forth. Price Breakdown: Unfortunately my company paid so I have no idea. However, from what I've understood, for my vegetarians out there, you don't have to spend as much as someone getting meat - more on this later. Portions: Each block of noodle is pretty filling! along with all the additional dishes, I was stuffed by the end and still had broth left. Halal/Vegetarian Friendly: Lamb is halal, chicken is not (so their meat broths are not halal). Lots of vegetarian options, and vegetarian versions of all their broths! Would get again: 100% absolutely, especially now that I know it is possible to get this with only vegetarian options without breaking the bank! Came here for team lunch, and left stuffed to the brim! I greatly enjoyed the flavors and variety - especially with the different sauces and ingredients available, and the yummy noodles and tofu. Something to note - from the menu, I had assumed you could only get the set packages that they describe (so as someone who eats halal/Vegetarian, I would have went for the vegetarian package which would have been just a bit pricier than I would like). However, instead of getting packages, you can order specific veggies, sides, noodles, etc that you want - which wss incredibly helpful in our large group where we could share different noodles and sides amongst each other. Highly recommend this! Their udon and ramen was very good, and eve their vermicilli was something new to me that I really enjoyed. I did like the sichuan sauce, but I think based on my personal tastes, while I like really spicy food, the numbing/oily flavor of it is not my favorite. I especially enjoyed the tofu and how it'd soak up the broth and flavors. This was a super fun, easy hotpot experience and I will definitely be back to try the other broths and noodles!
Pretty good hot pot place with a nice variety broths and meats to choose from. We got the two person meat lover combo and it was pretty tasty. It might seem like a small amount of meat on paper but they gave enough for the both us. Our favorite meat choice was the wagyu that we chose. Also the veggie platter was pretty fresh. The highlight of the meal was the sauce bar, with the crunchy chili oil with nuts in them.
The hot pot we ordered was amazing, and they offer a vegetarian option that I really enjoyed. It was my first time trying hot pot, and although I don't have much experience with Chinese cuisine, I absolutely loved it. The portion size for a single hot pot is generous enough to satisfy two people. However, I deducted two star from the rating because we were seated near the restroom, which slightly detracted from the overall experience. In the restaurant business, it's important to pay attention to even the smallest details to ensure a pleasant dining experience.
A little pricey but it was a lot of fun trying all the veggies, meat and sauces. The Sichuan soup was way spicy but flavorful. Mixing up different dipping sauces was so delicious. Not sure I would go back but it was definitely worth the visit. The option for 2 people was way more than we could eat so we had it for lunch the next day.
My first time having hot pot at this vegetarian friendly spot in Foster City! The vibes were great with many different options for soup base, an assortment of ingredients to customize a sauce, and many vegetables and types of ingredients to add on top of the broth. Overall, a very cool and unique experience. The rice cakes and squash especially came out really well!!
Had a wonderful first time experience here. Food was pretty good. American wagyu was better than the lamb shoulder. Veggies are good portion and variety for each person. Combo bad plenty of choices and $58 for 2. Tables are separated via a plastic partition and employees are wearing masks. Plenty of outdoor seating covered with large umbrellas. Definitely coming back!
I'm so full. The single combo was just right for lunch.
Mumu always hits the spot! This was our first time at the Foster City location. We normally patronize the Pleasanton location, but as we were coming from SFO, we thought we’d try this location. First off, they have outdoor hot pot tables available; we didn’t do it this time, but next time for sure! The restaurant staff is great here, very friendly and go above & beyond… there’s also ample parking available too. The veggies and meat are all fresh and fantastic and the sauce bar is loaded. We’ll definitely be back!
Four of us ate here for lunch and it was delicious. Order your meats go get your sauce and enjoy. Service was quick and prompt, the waiters answered any questions that we had, and the meat was of high quality. Will go back. Be sure to add the noodles to the broth in the end to make noodle soup! Add some garlic, soy sauce, etc to flavor the broth as well.
My partner and I came here at 6:30 on a Friday night because we didn’t want to wait an hour for Seapot. So this review is going to be a Seapot/Mumu comparison. We got the Mumu Signature for two and it was just the right amount of food for two adults. At Mumu you get quality over quantity while the opposite is true for Seapot. The overall bill was about the same. You don’t get to choose which veggies and sides you get at Mumu but the meat selection is more diverse and everything is, again, higher quality. Oftentimes the meat at Seapot would have that stinky old meat smell and taste. The sauce bar is decent but doesn’t offer as much at Mumu. They also don’t have a kimchi and fruit bar but that’s okay for me since I rarely have enough space in my stomach for these auxiliary items. The vibe at Mumu is more laidback (ie no giant screen playing music videos) and the servers are attentive and nice. Oh, and at Mumu, there are takeout containers freely available for your leftovers! I’m pretty sure Seapot doesn’t provide these. Overall I am pleased and would choose Mumu over Seapot.
Loved the experience here. Everything was fresh and tasty. We took the Tom yum soup and Sichuan spicy soup. Both were good. Wait time isn't long. We got the table in 10 mins on a Friday night.
Loved being able to eat hot pot outdoors. The meat was so good and the variety of items in the combo was nice. Being able to have my own individual pot is cool because my wife and I can have our own choice of broth. Definitely recommend.
Wow I found Mumu in Foster city! But here is no rice cake and taro, sad!

Although I have had Japanese Shabu-Shabu, this was my first Korean Hot Pot experience. I was in a party of 6 adults and a child. We were uncertain how much to order. We decided to start with 2 Combos for 2. With 4 soup bases, several trays of various meats, sides (shrimp, quail eggs, fish tofu with roe, etc.), noodles, vegetables, etc., we found the order more than fulfilling. I only wish they told us what meat was on each tray. They also have an excellent selection of sauces. Decor was okay and cleanliness reasonable considering the cooking at the tables. I would love to be back.
Reasonable portions & really tasty vegan options! We got 2x Vegan Single, 2 extra soups (yuzu shio, sukiyaki, tomyum, and mushroom), and extra beancurd rolls. There are four different soy options(!), mushrooms, and veggies - plus all the standard condiments. Great value and the best vegan options I've seen so far in the US! Service was very fast and efficient. Be warned: weekend nights are very busy. We went on Sunday lunch and had no wait.

Pretty good place for hot pot soup. Multiple options for meat and vegetable choices. Service could have been little better. For example, we had to ask for water, soup spoon etc. But food was pretty good. I liked the tofu and new New Zealand lamb cuts. You can join the waiting list on yelp app. Expect waiting time to be 20-30 minutes. Thumbs up !!!
Good meat selection, soup is hot and kept warm. In covid times the sauces come individual in containers you tell them how many of each you want. There is a suggestion for sauce recipes at the bottom of the sauce menu. Menus are laminated for them to wipe down and reuse. Outdoor dining is covered with a tent
Nice location, clean and modern, good service and good selection of meats and vegetables for cooking, as well as a wide variety of sauce ingredients. I thought the price was a little high compared to other similar places, but it's great to have your own pot, rather than having to share a pot. Ideal for small group dinners, with outside cooking as an option.
Good hot pot option! For Side: The ramen noodles are little too salty I would recommend the rice it was very soft
I have had Mumu hotpot many times at this location. It is not busy if you come at the beginning of the lunch/dinner time. I often order the combo for 2. I tried the original and the meat combos. Both are really good and plenty of food. It is more than enough for 2 women. Recently they have some new soup bases. I highly recommend this place if you want hot pot.
I’ve been craving hot pot and am so excited that Mumu has halal meat now! I used to only order the seafood but they are definitely a treat as they also have halal Wagyu! All of the ingredients are fresh tasting and delicious. Wish they would offer AYCE but love that there are more halal hot pot choices in the area. They are slightly pricier than other hot pot places but the quality is there. There are a few locations and all conveniently located on the peninsula.
It's a decent hotpot place with reasonable price and good quality. You ordered online from QR code and also pay online. We were confused with the beef choices so we ordered 3 of them and asked the waiter which one was which. They are shown in this picture. Hope it's helpful. They have so many sauce and spice options. My go to is ponzu sauce added chopped garlic and ground chilli. The mushroom sauce mixed with sesame sauce is also good.
High quality meat in a personalized hot pot style. It's not unlimited, but the packages for 2 people is ample. I left satisfied. One can control their own temperature and make their own dipping sauce. The restaurant is spacious but there isn't enough ventilation for all the steam. Service consists of people taking away used dishes and monitoring people's pots aren't boiling over.
DIY shabu shabu style hotpot joint. Great quality meat with yummy vegetables. Lots of sauces to choose from to customize your dipping sauce as well.

A little messy inside, especially the condiments table. Meats are ok, tasty but not super fresh. It appears that the meats were sliced and refrigerated instead of freshly sliced when ordered as I can see that the side facing up has a darker color than the other side. Tables are small so you would have to stack up the meat trays, not ideal for hygiene. Restrooms are very clean.
