Not your typical Vietnamese restaurant. Really more of an upscale Vietnamese restaurant. Beautiful dining area with a direct view of the kitchen. One, large dining area separated with a decorated divider, sushi style counter as well. We made reservations for lunch and were glad we did. Very busy at noon on a Wednesday. Paul, our initial server greeted us quickly. Fully explained any menu questions we had and agreed to check with the chef on a custom order I had in mind. Food presentation is very good, beautifully created and just as tasty. If you are not a spice fan, as your server about your desired dish. I wanted the Seafood Tom Kha Pasta as it looked like it would be mild. Luckily Paul let me know it's about a 5 or 6 out of 10 on the spicy chart. Well, that's 3 or 4 numbers higher than I enjoy. So I asked if they could make it with the garlic noodle 🍜 "sauce". He inquired and they did. It was great, probably one of the favorite dishes as our table. We ordered two appetizers and three entrées and shared. The crispy pork rice bowl 🍚 was good, the filet Mignon was good, and the crab 🦀 toast was good. The calamari was just okay... It's not on the menu but they have Coca-Cola products available. Definitely worth a try. Hope you can bring a few people with you and share the dishes. Enjoy!
I stopped by here to grab quick small bites before attending an event. WOW, everything was so good, I'll be sure to return with my full appetite. I ordered 2 things - Squid & Mango Salad and Crispy Calamari. I am a huge fan of Asian food, as well as Asian fusion. This place, as well as all Kei Concept restaurants, embodies what Asian fusion should be. The Squid & Mango Salad was sooo yummy and fresh. It had a lot of flavors happening at the same time - sweet, savory, and spicy (but not too spicy)! Though the calamari was yummy on its own, the SAUCE that it came with was out of this world. It had a hint of lemongrass in it; I've never had anything like it before. The sauce alone is just the perfect example of what Asian fusion food should be. I'll be sure to return and order much more of their food. I have no doubt everything else is just as tasty as the two dishes I ordered. The service was fine. The setting itself is very modern and hip, yet still classy and open.
we had a really delicious meal, modern vietnamese. we recently came back from vietnam, so when we saw egg coffee on the menu, we had to try it and it did not disappoint! we ordered it both hot and iced. i personally preferred it hot, but my friends were team iced. we also ordered their “skillets” though they’re not listed that way on the menu. we had to ask and figure it out but the banh mi chao was definitely worth it. rich, flavorful, and something a little different.
My first Kei Concepts experience! Word on the street is that they all have the same happy hour hack — show up at 4:45, order their entire happy hour menu for a fraction of the price, but still get the SAME! PHENOMENAL! FOOD! even at the same portion. We got 5 dishes for $60 before tip and it fed four of us pretty well, although YMMV depending on your party’s appetite. Garlic noodles had the perfect Q texture with jumbo juicy charred shrimp. Seafood ceviche was tender and slightly acidic with a hint of coconut. Xoi man isn’t porky at all with amazing Chinese sausage, although the sticky rice is a little heavier. The baguette in the banh mi chao is UNREAL; perfectly soft and fluffy, and we considered getting another one on the side. We finished with a banana bread pudding, which is fantastically complex with crunch, fluff, bitterness, and nuttiness all in one package. It was on the sweeter side but the perfect end to a delicious dinner! The inside is so elegant, and our servers were amazing in making sure we could take advantage of the happy hour!
Delicious brunch and dinner with top-tier service that reflects the high standards of Kei Concepts. The food is rich and flavorful, everything melts in your mouth. Each dish has multiple flavors packed into it. The staff regularly refilled our waters and checked on us. The brunch ambience is comfortable and filled with natural sunlight. The dinner atmosphere is warmly lit with modern and sleek details. I haven’t tried happy hour yet, but after my amazing brunch and dinner visits, it’s on my to try list. Brunch was my most recent visit which is what I’ll focus on. 🍳Brunch Food🥖: -Banh Mi Chao with Beef Belly: delicious, the meat is juicy and flavorful, perfect sunny side eggs -Crispy Pork Rice Bowl: crispy and tender at the right spots, vegetables complimented the dish nicely -Crab Toast: how do they make something as simple as scrambled eggs taste so good, the crab and scrambled eggs tasted amazing together, smooth, rich
This place was INCREDIBLE! Forty minute wait but I would’ve waited longer the food and service was THAT GOOD. I had the egg coffee boyfriend had the sea salt Vietnamese coffee. Crab toast was phenomenal, bf and I wish we got the crab instead of the shrimp with the garlic noodles however that’s not to say it wasn’t delicious.
Finally came when we ran an errand nearby. A tasty start from the drinks (I got Thai Princess and my friend got a latte), we were already impressed. We got the crab toast (will have to get again next time...So yummy!), seafood pasta (clever blends of taste elements), and garlic noodle. The mango sticky rice was a bit sweet to me. Our waiter was friendly and helpful. They switched our table to a bigger one to accommodate all the dishes.
Delicious and well presented. Ordered garlic shrimp, salad, grilled chicken , fried rice and sticky rice mango for dessert. Everything is well prepared and tastes good. Except for Sticky rice mango a bit sour and hard texture but still good. Must try and super love this egg coffee, perfect with dessert ! Nice atmosphere and prompt service.
Finally checked NEP off our bucket list, and this Vietnamese fusion spot did not disappoint! We started with the Vietnamese Shrimp Salad, which was incredibly crisp and vibrant; the cabbage and fish sauce dressing provided a perfect acidic snap. For mains, the Seafood Tom Kha Pasta was a brilliant East-meets-West execution—the creamy, aromatic flavors of the sauce coated the linguine beautifully. However, the absolute star was the Beef Belly Banh Mi Chao. The beef was melt-in-your-mouth tender and paired perfectly with the richness of the sunny-side-up eggs, pork roll, and charred tomatoes. Scooping everything up with the crusty French bread made for a truly dynamic bite. We finished with the Mango Sticky Rice, which was solid and traditional, though it didn’t quite reach the creative heights of the savory dishes. Overall, a must-visit for elevated fusion!
I've been wanting to try this place forever, so I was excited to finally make it out this weekend when I was visiting. The atmosphere: There's a good amount of patio and indoor seating, but brunch gets busy. I'd recommend making a reservation, and if you can, aim for an earlier time for better seating and wait times. The food: We started with the Seafood Ceviche and the Crab Toast. Both were a little pricey for the portion size, but were really tasty and easy to share. I ordered the Banh Mi Chao with filet mignon, and the meat was super tender and marinated perfectly. The tomatoes added a nice fresh bite. The Xoi Chien was also delicious. I had never seen it prepared that way before. I loved how crispy the rice was, especially paired with savory toppings like Chinese sausage and pork floss. Side note, I'm obsessed with the Coconut Ube Coffee. I could drink that all day. I'd love to see them add a pandan cream option too because that would be an amazing combo. The service: Our server was great. I can't remember her name, but she was attentive, patient, and genuinely made my party's experience better. Good vibes all around!
Everything was amazing: food and drinks. Food tasted absolutely delicious and was presented with such care,I absolutely had to take a few photos. We ordered almost everything off the menu and it was all a 10/10! I cant wait to come back! Hats off to the chef and the entire team! Service was great as well.
Here is my review about this place. 1 - decoration 9/10: There a lot of space and open kitchen very nice. There was only a couple of chairs a bit broken or unstable. 2 - ambiance 10/10: very nice ambiance a lot of people. For kids, a date or celebrate a birthday. 3 - service 10/10: the service was amazing the waitress knew her menu suggest if it was our first time. They are polite and with a smile. 4- food 10/10 : the food was amazing I understand why it was full and people waiting. There is varieties of plates , very good coconut drink. Look at the pictures. 5 - cleanest 9/10: it was clean the only small issue was the restroom. They had no more tissues for hands and the drying machine didn't work. Globally very nice place I recommend it for sure.
The food was delicious, very flavorful and reasonably priced. The only thing our table was not a super fan of was the lemongrass noodles. I personally liked them, but could not have a whole dish as the lemon grass flavor is overpowering. Everything else was amazing. Every time I’ve been it has been very lively, but excessively loud. I found the cocktails to be too sweet for my taste, but everyone else at the table loved what they ordered. Will definitely be back so more pictures to come.
Delicious and beautiful dishes! They take Vietnamese food to the next level. We ordered the crispy pork belly rice bowl, crab omelette, Vietnamese milk coffee, and sugarcane kumquat. The pork rice bowl was a nice balance of greens, meat, and carb. The skin was crispy, easy to bite, and the meat was tender. The greens and pickles were so fresh. The crab omelette came sizzling hot and spicier than expected, but delicious. The Vietnamese coffee was so good and the sugarcane kumquat was super refreshing. We made a reservation (recommended!!) and sat outside on the patio with our dog. They brought out a doggy water bowl. Vibe was good overall, however, the music might have been a little too loud but we might be sitting under the speaker. I definitely would come back to try their other dishes!
This place truly holds a special place in my heart and I am so in love with it! When I lived in California, this was my go to spot I used to come here every single week because the food, atmosphere, and service were always incredible. Now that I’ve moved away, I have to fly back to California just to visit, and even though I can only come two or three times a year, every visit feels like a celebration. Every time I’m here, I want to try the entire menu the food is that good! And don’t even get me started on the drinks; I wish I could sample every single item on the drink menu because they’re all amazing. Whether it’s brunch with friends, a family gathering, or any kind of special occasion, this place is the perfect spot. I absolutely love the environment the vibe is modern, fresh, and inviting. The staff is always so sweet, cute, and genuinely kind, making every visit feel warm and welcoming. The food never disappoints; it’s consistently delicious and beautifully presented. I’m honestly so in love with this place there’s nothing else quite like it, and I can’t wait for my next visit to Nep!
Visited NEP cafe a Friday morning and really enjoyed brunch there. We arrived 11:00am and didn’t really have to wait but the cafe was already pretty full. We liked the modern and cozy vibe there, and loved the food a lot. Food was not only very well presented but also really testy. The squid mango salad and the xoi man were very flavorful and full of layers. The crab toast was super creamy and tasted. Also really like the salty egg latte, very good and special.
Food and drinks are worth the hype. I ordered most popular dishes and all were served pretty quickly. I would definitely come again, great for friends and family to share the dishes. Plenty of parking spaces and go for a walk after eating because there is a park right across the street. Only thing to keep in mind is to reserve a table before coming in. This place always has been popular and your wait time is not guaranteed.
My birthday lunch this year was at NEP. We just got back from a trip to Singapore and my partner is always looking for food that reminds him of the Southeast (Asia). He was interested with what this food looked like in pictures. Like usual, we ordered too much from crab omelette, beef bowl, crispy pork belly bowl, fried rice and more. For appetizers, we had calamari and a truffle dip with toast to dip. We all tried different drinks - creme brulee egg coffee, egg coffee, kalamansi lychee and a matcha berry drink. All the drinks were good but I'm not used to food and drinks that rich. Too intense for my Taiwanese palette but my partner loved it. I can probably stomach once a year. I need more balance but everything is delicious. They almost forgot our calamari but we double checked and our waitress got it to us right away. The beef bowl was probably the only letdown. Too much sauce in the beef for me. That extra sauce wasn't necessary.
I’ve had such a tumultuous relationship with Nep Cafe. I genuinely used to really like this place, but the things that made Nep Cafe shine are no longer available. I had previously changed my rating to 3 stars after the bone marrow pasta was taken off the menu. After finding out the bone marrow pasta returned to the menu, I was willing to come back to Nep Cafe. I was reunited with my pasta and found a new favorite - the ribeye banh mi chao. So I reinstated my 5 star review. However, when I visited this morning, I found that not only was the bone marrow pasta taken off the menu AGAIN, the ribeye banh mi chao was also gone! You can only imagine how disappointed and betrayed I felt. Begrudgingly, we ordered the crab toast, the xoi man, and the beef belly banh mi chao. They were fine, but a far cry from the previous showstoppers. The service and ambiance were fine. But if I had known the bone marrow pasta and the ribeye banh mi chao were unavailable, I would not have come today. I’m so tired of this back-and-forth relationship with Nep Cafe. I’m tired of the unstable menu. I’m tired of having the bone marrow pasta dangled in front of me like a carrot, especially when the restaurant has replied to my Yelp reviews, promising that the bone marrow pasta has returned. I’m tired of feeling tricked every time I come here. I’m tired of Nep Cafe.
It feels like the restaurant has a policy of making walk-in customers wait at least 30 minutes before seating them, even when there are multiple empty tables. Reservation can only be made the day before. The signature Banh Mi Chao looks good but the taste is average. The mango salad is good. The egg coffee is not good, but the matcha version is better. Prices are relatively high compared to other Vietnamese restaurants.
