Genuinely my favorite restaurant, and has been for over a decade
Just had the best time at this place! The staff was super friendly and made me feel welcome from the moment I walked in. The food was absolutely delicious, especially the rolled tacos that were crunchy and packed with flavor. And the carne Asad fries? They were seriously amazing, bursting with flavor in every bite. Definitely going back soon!
I had not visited this place in many years, randomly stopped without knowing. I was surprised on how good the food is... If am I ever go back to the area this is a great spot
The Machaca Breakfast Burrito is excellent. The Rolled Taco Plate is the best when it is the Daily Special. I wish they had an online daily special menu so I did not have e to call and bother them. The daily specials take the sting out of the inflated prices. Thanks for that Sabro!
I walked in the place is nice and clean, air conditioned with friendly helpful staff. The food was prepared fresh to order, delivered hot and looked great. The food was delicious, the Carne Asada was well cooked, tender and delicious. The Jamaica drink was tasty, tart and sweet and cold. It was a little pricey but not by a lot. I'll definitely visit again if I'm in the area.
Every time I come home to Orange County, my late-night go-to spot is Sabrosada. The #20 with four chicken flautas and a half order of the carne asada fries (sub with skinny fries if they have them) are a MUST. The only thing I wish they have more of is the sour cream on top, it’s been a bit less lately but overall still great! The wait can be long sometimes when ordering drive-thru since they get busy and the food takes a bit to make. Everyone’s pretty patient and nice though, so practice patience too if you get hangry easily!
I had the cheese enchiladas w/ rice & beans. The order came out quick which concerned me because I have ordered the same from many different places & always seem to have the same problem, the cheese is never fully melted. At Sabrosada this was not the case... Cheese was fully melted & the rice & beans were delicious! Also on the side I got the guacamole/chips & a huge carne asada taco which was huge! I definitely recommed trying this place!
this location is a little bit weird. It looks like it has a drive-through on the right side, but it's really not. The door is on the right side and parking is in the back so be patient. The food is good and generally, it's always good The many tacos this week were a little bit dry beef, and the chicken were both dry, but the fish tacos is good
The burrito was HUGE. Chile verde with grilled onions and peppers. It was ok. A little bit dry which was strange considering the meat is slow cooked in tomatillo sauce but I asked for a couple sides of green sauce and that helped significantly. The horchata was good and the service was good enough for a fast food type place. This place presents decent value and are open late which is convenient. It's good to know that there's a late night option close by.
Sitting in the restaurant as I write this review. This is a solid Mexican joint. Small enough to be laid back and enjoy your meal with a friend or two without feeling rushed. I had the beef hard taco and enchilada. The taco was on point, but the enchilada needed more time to melt the cheese inside. The menu seems to have a nice range of options, so i am most definitely coming back to try out more choices. The chips seemed fresh and warm. Kid's menu seems super kid friendly for those picky eaters. Salsas were super tasty and I want more. They have signature Mexican sourced drinks and the staff is super friendly. They even have a drive through for the lazy bones that will most likely go thru eventually.
“This one is my first ever Mexican restaurant I’ve ever visited, and it went well. I had Shrimp burrito which was yummy and my friends had chicken enchiladas which didn’t go well for them. As it was my first time, I didn’t know what to Hav and the lady at the counter helped me out patiently. It’s a decent dine inn, well maintained one. They had some salsas as mild, medium and hot with some veggies, lemons. Had a delicious hot shrimp burrito as it was raining outside. Below are some of my clicks from this place, please have a look.......
Photos and menu are out of date! Ive eaten alot over last 15 years. It used to be better. Yesterday I paid over 11$ for the worst breakfast burrito I've ever had. Salsa given wasn't much more than tomato sauce, no smoke, no heat. Staff is very friendly. Cook phoned this one in.
This place has always been my go-to for yummy burritos. I hadn’t been in a few months, but I love their carne asada burrito. I usually only stop when I’m really craving meat, and yesterday was one of those days. I was pleasantly surprised to see no line around 8 PM. I ordered my burrito, but when it came time to pay, the total was $16.04 for one burrito. I double-checked, thinking there might be a mistake, but I was told that was the correct price. Unfortunately, the disappointment didn’t end there. When I got home, I noticed the burrito was smaller than before, and it was cold. With the price increase and reduced portion size, the value just wasn’t there anymore. For a fast-food spot, charging close to $20 for a burrito feels unreasonable. I truly hope management takes a moment to reassess their pricing and portion sizes, because this used to be a place I loved and wanted to keep supporting.
Went by Sabrosada's next door to Sam's on Brookhurst Sunday evening at 6:40 pm and ordered an El Pastor wet burrito. It was $17 plus $4.50 for red sauce (the "wet part"). Must be a new thing to charge for a wet burrito - used to douse in sauce for free in the pre-covid days. OH, well. Been coming here for years to eat their OK food when every where else is too far to go. Used to be good, or at least ok. But, after a 2 minute drive home and upon opening the box and cutting it in half to share with my boy, we find the sauce, the burrito and the box is stone cold - like less than room temperature . . yet the cheese on top of the tortilla was melted as if at some time in not too distant past it was melted by some heat mechanism. The first bite was refrigerator - cold. stuck finger in the middle of the burrito - - - stone cold. Sauce in bottom of box - cold. Upon calling by phone and spoke to manager advising of almost ice cold burrito, his response was "must be the pico de giro sauce and guacamole which are included inside the burrito when being wrapped that are refrigerated that cooled off the hot burrito. I called BS - how can a few oz of guac and pico sauce cool off a 10 oz normally hot off the grill or pot pork meat to stone cold in a two minute drive. . . can't happen. Told them to make anolther one this time put the sauce and guac in separate plastic cups and i would be there in two minutes. Small wonder, nobody in line, and they took 10 minutes to make another one. After asking for a real explanation to manager's face and after promising I would get one, the nice lady said here you are sir. . . sorry about that. I said, what about my explanation. I want to know why, what is the real reason it was cold. Do you prepare them in advance then refrigerate and microwave and you just forgot to microwave mine? Nice lady gave blank stare and brought manager with the sheepish look. He stupidly asks "may I help you" . . . to which I answer, you promised me an explanation. He pretends he doesn't remember the promise made ten minutes before. . . and says just a minute. When he comes back, same story . . . "must be the cold guac and pico di gallo" I called BS again - this time to his face. I replied that I will report this to the headquarters unless he comes clean and gives me the real reason why the burrito was delivered cold to me the first time. He replied, that's the truth - we drove off. Got home 2 minutes later and opened the box. The guac was artificial chemical filled liquid, barely even a paste and very watery - green color but no avocado flavor or consistency. It was barely above room temp, in fact it probably was room temperature. The pico sauce was a bit cooler, but still not cold. Each were in their separate plastic cups - hardly enough to cool anything down, much less themselves. the burrito was better than warm, almost hot and it was burned tasting = and extremely dry. Probably the worst burrito I have ever tasted. I had two bites and gave it to my boy. He was hungry and ate most of his and said "I feel sick". At the table he actually gagged twice and ran to the toilet whereupon he exploded in a loud "B U I C K'. We heard it from the family room twenty feet away with the bathroom door closed. Something’s up at the Sabrosada next door to Sams and Kentucky Colonel. Proceed at your own risk. . . We'll just use epicac next time we need to empty the contents of our stomach. After more than ten years of good or at least OK burritos at Sabrosada, we will not be wasting any more time or money for the sake of convenience there. For that reason, its not even worth letting the headquarters know about the deficiency. I only bother to do that in cases where I want to improve the place and continue to patronize. In this case, its not even worth it - especially at the prices charged at a high-end restaurant for real quality food - not the pig swill served yesterday that we got.
I have been going to Sabrosada for years and never expected it to be as bad quality as it was today. I ordered 3 carnitas and 2 carne asadas and all I can taste is onion, tomatoes & tortillas … so I’m very upset! There was basically no meat in the tacos and considering the price for this is order is pretty high you would think there would be a good amount of meat.
They always mess something up in the drive-thru. This last time I asked for no ham on my 2 breakfast burritos. It said no jamon on the receipt. All it had was ham. They refused to refund unless I drove all the way back (15 min each way). Or I could go back within 24 hours to get 1 free burrito. Neither of which are convenient as it’s sunday. Either refund your mistakes or don’t make them so often. Every. Time. They get something wrong.
