The Nautilus is one of the best restaurants in Nassau I've been going there for many years, Simply put the food is the best quality consistently. I always feel as if I am on a Yacht with service to match. I have never been disappointed

First time here celebrating our niece's birthday. It was also restaurant week and place was packed even at 5pm. Food really good. We had branzino, sole and salmon (partial to soup and the lobster bisque was good). Calamari app had a nice spicy kick. Don't forget dessert there either. Molten lava cake fit the bill. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Would recommend.

When my husband have business on the South shore, we make a point to come here for lunch. We love this restaurant for several reasons.it has old world charm,on the water. It's classy, it's cozy, the atmosphere is small and intimate. It has outstanding service and excellent food. The menu is small, but varied. They have a price fixed lunch that is a bargain because the food is very high quality, including the desserts. If you can make it to Freeport, I highly recommend going here, above all others. Not just in the summer, either. It's one of the best LI has to offer.

Amazing food. Pricey though, you couldn't do this every week. They have a kids menu, but you have to ask for it. The portions of sides are really big, the main portion is a nice amount. If you like big dinners this isn't your spot. Great dining though and friendly staff.

This past weekend I went to Long Island for a getaway with my significant other and he told me we were going to a restaurant for lunch. I was in awe, as we approached the beautiful river and the uniqueness of this restaurant had me even more in awe. Upon entering, I was in even more awe, it was absolutely beautiful. I loved everything about this restaurant. We were served a unique bread and crackers as we placed our orders and it was absolutely amazing. I was in love. This is before the appetizers.. I could not believe how amazingly the clams melted in my mouth. I can not even make this up, this place was amazing. I am from Boston and I will vouch that this is def one of the best seafood places I have indulged in in NY. I recommend everyone in this area to visit this place at least once ( because I know after once you'll be back) Not only that. The customer service from the servers is AMAZINGGGGGGG! I felt as though they personally were pleased at assisting and making sure we were okay. The consistent checking in and making sure were okay on drinks and food being removed after consumed. I love this restaurant and will be back :)

My wife and I recently hosted dinner at Nautilus Cafe and our guests craved lobsters so we pre-ordered 3 pounders. The restaurant was very accommodating and the prices were very reasonable. The lobsters were perfectly prepared and delicious and the service was extremely attentive. Ronni, our server, could not do enough to make our dinner even more enjoyable. I recommend this favorite of mine without any hesitation. Enjoy!

This was my first experience food was delicious. The waitress was a sweet as can be. My steak was made to perfection. Definitely would go back and try the other items on the menu.

Always a treat, the Nautilus offers wonderful food paired with excellent service. The seafood entrees are off the charts. I tend to visit for special occasions like birthdays, and have never had anything less than a truly delicious and friendly experience. 10/10 would recommend.

This is one of those restaurants where the food is consistently fresh & delicious. I believe the owner is the Chef, which makes a difference. Staff is always friendly. I've seen some of the same staff there for years, so they must be happy working there. Food is great. I definitely recommend it!

The food there is exceptional! I’ve never been disappointed, they’ve even arranged to have private parties in their dining room. The staff is always attentive and happy to share any recommendations for the specials of the day. The cook Brian will never disappoint you. The Nautilis is our “go to” place, the best place on the nautical mile.

We went to Nautilus Cafe for my boyfriends Mother's Birthday dinner. The food was delicious and cooked perfectly, it was quiet, upon walking in my daughter exclaimed that it smelt like her Italian great grandmother (so, you already knew it was about to be delicious!) The staff was kind and friendly. I would definitely reccomend this restaurant!

Expensive but delicious,!! 2 lb lobster moist and bone in rib eye fabulous and more than enough for two. Crab cake appetizer also delicious. Update: With the Corona virus, they now have seating outside and limited seating inside. They downsize their menu also but everything they serve is just great.

I have never had a bad experience at this restaurant. The food is excellent and the staff extremely capable. They are best known for their seafood, which is always fresh and delicious, their steaks & prime rib are just as good. You won’t be sorry if you try this restaurant. It is a family favorite if ours & make sure you try the banana bread in the basket of rolls.

I have been going there for years. Never disappointed or were my guest. Portions are BIG! Staff is great all the time. I can eat a lot but never eat breakfast or lunch when I am going to eat there. It's also a bargain for the food you get. Sure I can eat cheaper but will want to forget the meal instead of remember it. I live on Guy Lombardo Ave and when people ask where is a good place to eat I know where to send them. Decor is fine for me I don't need trendy I need great food. Love the place!

We love the Nautalis and have been dining here for over 12+ years. The food is fresh and made just the way you want. The staff is very friendly and meet your every need for a great dining experience.

Absolutely delicious. I had the halibut with French fries and my friend had the swordfish with baked potato. The fishes were fresh and cooked to perfection. The hand cut skinny fries were ....yum! We even made it in time for the early bird special (what!) and got a three course meal for a reasonable price. By the way, they also bring you out some fresh bread and warm banana bread before you order, so savor it and save room for the rest of the food. Kudos to Ramon, our server, and the rest of the staff for being attentive and great hosts. I definitely recommend!

Can’t say enough about the Nautilus. From the food to the service it never disappoints. The freshest seafood you can get always prepared perfectly. Special requests are not a problem. It is hard to find a restaurant that has great fish & also many other options for the land eaters. Staff is always very friendly & accommodating. Don’t miss this one!

Best rare bone in prime rib on Long Island. Steak night every Wednesday year round. If you can go to Peter Lugers in Brooklyn, you can make the trip to Freeport.

The food was excellent. We had the Prix Price which included an appetizer, main course and dessert. First time there.. My wife had the bake clams, Salmon / lobster sauce,and chocolate cake. I had the salad, and the grilled chicken and vanilla ice cream. The cocktails are the best on the nautical.our server was excellent I forgot her name but very helpful choosing on the menu.

I share an excellent meal here with my hubby. Excellent, friendly service. I had the salmon, he had chicken Parm, both were perfect. Great fries. And their complementary breads were homemade and delicious - a little pricey, but worth it.

This place was great! brought my family from OK here for some excellent Seafood and were not disappointed. I had the seared Tuna steak and it was OUTSTANDING!

We had food delivered, and the graciousness of the owner/ chef, was exemplary. He is an expert chef, based on the food that we were delighted to eat. We had the “ Maple Glaze Salmon”, , which was prepared beautifully. The salmon was succulent, and exquisite to taste. The “ Caesar’s Salad” was substantial enough for two, and was equally delicious. My husband had the side order of fried onions, excellent in its flavor. The owner, Bryan, is both accommodating, and very nice, eager to please his patrons. I highly recommend this restaurant. Our meal was very much appreciated. Another recent experience, with food delivered, was exceptional. The dinner was exquisite. My husband had fish and chips. I had the halibut, which was the tastiest I have ever experienced. My side was delicious creamed spinach. Again, Bryan is an exemplary owner, and, a master chef, who is polite, pleasant, and gracious.

My appetizer, entree, and dessert were delicious. I loved the warm, woody atmosphere. Ramon's welcoming personality and knowledge of the meals rounded off a wholly enjoyable meal experience.

Have been dining at Nautilus for over 30 years and probably one of the most consistent restaurants we go to. The quality and great service never varies. Always has the freshest fish and shellfish available. Lovely wine list and always great attentive service. If you are a meat eater they use top quality cuts of meat also. Brian the owner is also one of the nicest people I’ve ever have known. They also have a great lobster night and also a steak night. Make a reservation, you will not be disappointed.

This is my favorite restaurant.. by far. I have been to this restaurant too many times to count and have never had anything but great meals. My wife and all of our friends we have brought here have always loved their meals. The seafood is always fresh and delicious. There is usually a good variety of daily specials. My favorite special is the Surf and Turf since it is the best prime rib I have had and the lobster is always fresh and tender. The seafood cocktail appetizer is also my favorite. Great sides, great desserts, and great service from a friendly and caring staff. I highly recommend this restaurant

Excellent. Our waiter, Roney was excellent. In addition to the menu there were many specials - we had the soft shell crab special. We also enjoyed the split peas soup, rare tuna and jumbo shrimp. Delicious, well priced and in a relaxing, unique ambiance. And for desert mud pie - wow!

One of our favorite dining spots. Have been a customer for many years. The staff is top notch. - Debbie, Laura, Ramon, few that come to mind. All of the waiters, waitresses, and bus boys are attentive & welcoming, It’s like seeing an old friend. The fish is unbelievably fresh each and every time. We love the halibut. Miss the days of the early bird special. Can be a bit pricey since everything is a la carte.

No matter if you are here for the Surf or the Turf (salads too); you can count on your meal being prepared to perfection. Been here numerous times. Always greeted by a very friendly staff who see to our every need. Food is constantly very good. Sometimes we call ahead for the marinated Porterhouse steak for two or to ask to reserve their freshest 2lb lobsters. It doesn’t matter what we select. It’s always the freshest of ingredients and well prepared.

Quality and consistency, over a period of 30+ years only happens when the owner is the chef and he pays attention to every aspect of the business. Fish is fresh and well prepared in imaginative ways. Meats are the equal of a fine steak house. Prices are reasonable for the quality delivered. A restaurant that stands out, is open year round and always delivers. You can't go wrong.

Best Prime Rib I've had in a really long time. Cooked perfectly enormous portions. Amazing service over all wonderful experience can't wait to go back.

I just want to praise how WONDERFUL the costumer service at Nautilus Cafe is. We were treated with the utmost care and respect by all the staff. They literally went above and beyond in everything they did and made us feel like royalty. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was very romantic. A bit overpriced but definetly worth it. We did have a small problem with one of the dishes but they immediately apologized, didn't charge us for that dish, and gave us some fancy drinks as service. Now that's amazing 👍 10/10 would reccomend.

We had a fabulous dinner here. The baked clams were awesome. Has the crusted rare tuna - it was perfect! My friend had the sole and loved it. Even the burnt broccoli was so tasty. The staff is extremely attentive - we never had to even pour a glass of wine out, waiter was there every time! Will definitely be back!

Excellent food quality, great service, and a good value. Nautical Mile is known for night life and partying down the strip, but bars and clubs aren’t the best place for food so it’s great to find a special place close by with great food and value.

I've been coming with family for many years, try to make it here at least every other week or so. Absolutely the best seafood (steaks are great too) on what otherwise is the tourist trap of bars and clubs on the nautical mile. The nautical atmosphere is very cozy and nice here. Everything on the menu is awesome and so are the specials. (I suggest the halibut and crab special and the coconut shrimp) They also have great week night specials (price fixe, steak and lobster night) where the food is just as amazing and you get a little extra bang for your buck. The servers are always super friendly and I dont think I've ever had a special request turned down. As you can imagine after going somewhere so much, you just start to order off menu and the chefs are always amazing at accommodating. I am a sucker for fried soft shell crabs and tonight the chef made them the best way I've ever had them, coconut "shrimp" fried. Truly amazing and I dont think I'll ever enjoy them that much anywhere else again! Thanks for all the wonderful meals to the entire crew over at Nautilus!

Wow simply just wow! The oysters were so fresh you could taste the ocean, didn't even need a mignotte. The crab bisque was great. Lobster and shrimp plate was great. The Halibut was good too (though there could be a bit more sauce since it was delicious). The atmosphere is nice (even though it's not by the water). And the service was simply superb. We were very happy and would definitely return again. Note: It's a bit expensive but definitely worth it. Bathrooms were clean. Not very accessible (you need to take a couple of stairs to get up and I didn't see a ramp, though I reckon the waiters would help out if you're on a wheelchair.

This was my first time visiting this resturaunt. Upon being seated, we were met by a wonderful waiter that provided bread and drinks. We ordered the baked clams and raw clams for an appetizer, both were excellent. for an entrée, I had the coconut shrimp, and crab cake special. "Jumbo" does not do these shrimp a justice. They are the largest shrimp that I have ever seen. My uncle had the ale battered shrimp. There were four very large shrimp, we were told that the sides are served family style and we ordered fries and coleslaw. Everything was truly delicious and I will be returning in the future.

At 12:00 pm it was not crowded yet and we were seated at a corner table by the window with a canal view across the street. Am I getting soft? Another (nearly) 5 star reviews. I think of myself as a pretty tough reviewer ... I mean why write a review that doesn't outline the good and the less than good? But for the second time in as many weeks, I'm finding a restaurant on Long Island that from a price/service/food stacks up really well. Would have been 5 stars except (1) when we made some changes to our meal (ordering an main course served as an appetizer & ordering from the dessert menu rather than from the desserts verbally told to us by our server) they failed to inform us of a considerable up charge; and, (2) almost every fish on the menu was from a non-sustainable source. And restaurants that want to stay in business for the long-term need to start thinking about long-term sources of food. Those two issues aside ... food was perfectly prepared, well seasoned, arrived at the right moment and was piping hot (except the cold stuff which was cold). Our server, guided us expertly through a 5 course meal. Making suggestions, engaging with us to make us feel "at home" but not being overly present. Water glasses always stayed topped off. And the wine list albeit at 3.5-4x was a bit pricey, still had a few hidden gems and a nice selection of wines by the glass. The view isn't as great as those across the street, but you can still watch some boats come by and have the sense of being "on the shore". I'd go back.

The Nautilus Cafe is superb if you like fish. It has a nice atmosphere and close seating; it gets really busy so reservations are a must, a week in advance, minimum. The seafood is so fresh and tasty; it doesn't have a fishy flavor or quality to it, if that makes any sense. It's pricy but I highly recommend it. I was so excited for my food I totally forgot to take pics, sorry... Next time. 😉 I gave four stars because they move slowly but it's totally worth the wait!

Love the views of the canal it’s easy to miss on nautical mile. The food was good although you will definitely want to get the early bird special as it is the best deal around otherwise it could be pretty expensive. Loved the meal the lobster and salmon that I tried tasted great. Def don’t want to miss this place!

Food was good, not super flavorful. Lobster roll had chunks of lobster and worth the$ for the meat but could have used more seasoning. Outdoor seating was perfect, tables were well spaced apart, servers and bus boys wore masks at all times. They even have heat lamps!

Since the Pandemic the restaurant is not catering to senior citizens. They use to have an early bird special which was great. Now everything is a la carte and it has gotten expensive to eat there. l wish they would bring back the early bird specials for the retired older people on fixed incomes

The food and service remains excellent I had a bone in Prime Rib. My wife had the special, a stuffed 2 pound lobster.. also excellent. My only issue is the price remained the same and the main dish came with nothing. You used to get soup or salad, main course with a potato or vegetable., and desert and coffee. Now only the main course and no vegetable and, or starch.

I ordered fish and chips which was ok but the other three people with me thoroughly enjoyed the food. I didn't see much seating choices but there was no waiting or overcrowding. The scenery is calming.

Excellent service, great food and great location! Went around 1:30PM on a Thursday (party of 2) and did the prefix lunch menu. This included a starter, main and dessert. The complimentary banana bread, and crackers were great!!!

I have had very good recent experiences at this Venue. Enjoyed a perfectly prepared and scrumptious Porterhouse Steak for two in April. Several more recent visits with Family and friends were equally delightful. Their seafood is always fresh and the choices are vast and intriguing. The lunch menu is the best buy. Otherwise a little pricy, but it is money well spent. Excellent all around. Have been back at this Restaurant a number of times since the above review. The most recent experience yesterday. I can never say enough to describe the excellent food and the outstanding service. Two entrees that stood out were the Pork Shank and The Roast Duck. Particularly good appetizers are the crab cakes and the baked clams. Anything served is never a miss. We were six and all of us were happy.

As a party of four, we had a wonderful early dinner before heading to Jones Beach for the James Taylor concert. The menu was appealing, lots of great items and the food was excellent. Our server, Kristine M, was great; very nice and attentive to all our needs. Our only disappointment and put a damper on how impressed we were with the restaurant, our $300 bill had a 3% credit card fee added. Aside from being illegal in NY (they can offer a cash discount but not a fee for using a credit card and it requires advance notification,) with a high priced meal at $75/person (no alcohol) it's bad form to then add a service fee on top. It's a cost of doing business, we all have it, they need to figure out their expenses and figure out how to price their food; a .50 cent change in the cost of the side dishes or $1.00 on a special would go unnoticed in the overall menu and would eliminate leaving a bad impression as we are walking out the door. Most people do not carry a lot of cash around anymore.

Very nice place walking up to it. Started the meal with crab cakes, it was a very large dish for just two crab cakes. Wife order the halibut that was cooked to perfection. I got the shrimp and steak and it was great. Overall food was good. Service was outstanding and attentive.

The food was extremely delicious and the staffs are very friendly. I love the ambiance. The restaurant was clean and tidy.

My girlfriend took me here to celebrate my recent promotion. From the outside there's nothing special really or extravagant to look at and the inside is nothing spectacular either. We sat and watched the nautic mile which consisted of a whole lot of people dining walking socializing drinking and just having a good time in the beautiful weather. I Will Wait her was named Chuck. He was also the bartender. After being seated it didn't take but a few seconds before he came and gave us a menu asked about our day and seemed very happy to have us there. He managed to multitask and did it very well between serving at the bar and serving us. I gather that's the reason why we left him such a Hardy tip. Let's talk about the food I ordered the salmon with garlic mashed potatoes my girlfriend ordered these spinach and halibut. When our entrees came we had not completed our appetizers but we were ready to dig in. For an appetizer she had coconut shrimps and I was surprised that they only served too. I think price was a little bit too much just for two. I however had the lobster bisque which was absolutely wonderful I mean scrumptious I mean delicious I mean fantastically prepared. Creamy. I don't recall seeing very much meat in it but that's okay because the flavor was so good. The bread that was served was just perfect the rules were nice and served in a little small basket with assortment of crackers or breadsticks depending on where you're from. Also a piece of sweet bread I call it I believe it was banana bread I'm not sure nonetheless the butter complimented it. The salmon was prepared perfectly not overcooked not undercoat you can actually taste the freshness of this slice of salmon and was just enough. The creamy mashed potatoes you can taste garlic and it was not heavily salted like I've experienced somewhere else which I will not say. She said that her halibut was delicious and I took a piece and she was correct. I go fishing on a regular I fish for flounder and they taste good I've never had a halibut but now that I've tasted watch out Canada Oswego New York and any place else which these fish can be found I'm coming for you. A very white delicious textured fish that melted in our mouth didn't need to chew it very much. I don't know about anybody else but I certainly will be back here again. The prices are a little steep but I didn't mind because the food was delicious. We didn't do desserts instead we went to a pastry shop but the dessert menu wasn't much to desire at least not for our taste buds. I have to give this a four-star because as you guys know if you give five stars it means nothing needs to be improved upon. So a four-star will do for now only because the decor needed to be updated the bathroom was a little messy it had a scent of urine. Parking attendant was absolutely wonderful he was personable and actually he was kind of funny as he didn't know it maybe found him to be comical. When you're in the neighborhood check this place out he won't regret it until then let your mouth water all the meals we had and enjoyed.

Small cozy restaurant on the Mile with pretty good food. The baked clams where chopped only wish they were whole but still good. I ordered the special, halibut with mushroom and lobster meat sauce (minus the mushrooms), very fresh but the sauce was the highlight of this dish. I ordered a baked potato but wished they had more options for the sides. Forgot to mention the shrimp and corn chowder soup was great!

We came down to Freeport to go elsewhere but it was closed so we decided to try this place. The menu seemed a bit limited but they had a good lunch special deal. We asked if they had soft shell crabs- it wasn’t written anywhere on the menu or mentioned in the specials. Turned out they did have them. The soft shell crabs were excellent- one of the best I have had. They were generously portioned as well. The warm apple crisp was delicious too. They coffee was strong and good also. We share a cold seafood appetizer which was very good and had generous portions. Would liked to have seen whole belly Ipswich clams and whole clam instead of chopped clams appetizer . The warm banana bread in the bread basket was a nice touch.

We have been coming to Nautilus Cafe for 15 years, and have always enjoyed our meal. However, we were very disappointed on our most recent visit. They removed the Prime Rib entree from the menu, and this was one of our main reasons for eating here. Also, the portions seemed smaller, on top of a price increase, and the bread basket was lacking, based on previous experience. Unfortunately I think it might be time to find a new special occasion restaurant.

Great location and staff. My wife and I are foodies so we were very excited to find and try this place regardless of the pricey menu items. This two star rating is strictly based on the food. This isn't a fine dining restaurant so the portions were decent sizes. Everything was à la carte so I had a grilled shrimp dish and my wife had a lightly breaded fish filet dish (can't remember the names) with fried onions and creamy spinach for table sides. Everything was presented very nicely and we hadn't eaten since we attended a vegan bbq (amazing food) earlier that day. We were very disappointed that everything was very bland like they were part of a restrictive diet. We had to do the unthinkable and use table salt to try to save a $96 meal...

Food was subpar. Tasted better the next day. The customer service was as well lacking. I wasn’t certain if that’s their usual manner or if it’s because we were not white. Beautiful view of the mile as always, and the Inside has this nice and warm cabin feel. But without kind and courteous staff or worthwhile food, I won’t be returning.

My waitress was very nice. The ambience is nice but the food is average. The crab cake was the only thing that I really enjoyed.

My recent experience at Nautilus cafe left much to be desired. Despite arriving 15-20 minutes ahead of my reservation time, the hostess refused to seat us and exhibited a dismissive attitude. When we attempted to clarify the situation, she abruptly walked away without providing any explanation or alternative solutions. This lack of courtesy and professionalism greatly soured our dining experience from the outset.

We've been customers for many years. We were there for "steak night". We ordered strip steak and veal chop. The preparation of both was terrible. The steak was overdone. The veal was not a "chop" as described by the waiter. Both meats were poor quality. Even the baked potato was miniscule. Needless to say that we were disappointed.

After today’s dinner, I will never go back. My fish was disgusting. Never ever had so tasteless dish in a reputable restaurant. Used to like to come to this place before. Our waitress didn’t even care when whole dish was returned.

Very limited lunch menu no seafood, after we told the waiter we'll just have drinks he just took all the dinnerware and the bread (wasn't going to eat it anyway)and cleared the table and left, very rude. 3/22 @1:06 pm, if there was a zero for service this place would get it.Ramon M you need to check your customer service skills, because the white customer that came in and sat next to our table you read the entire menu to him like that' was your master, don't forget who you are at the end of the day. The owner sent me a message, you don't need my business and I don't need to go to your restaurant. Rockville center has some amazing seafood restaurants.

My boyfriend and I come to this restaurant frequently for their prix fixe dinner and we come from Queens which typically takes an hour to an hour and a half to get here. We usually have a great time until today. We came about 4:30 & were the only people in the restaurant besides few people at the bar. The second we got the prix fixe menu , We saw something different. They now add $12 for the Prime Rib which usually was free with the Prix Fixe. Next my boyfriend asked for the 2 lb Lobster. The waiter said it was sold out. We pleaded with him to find a 2LB Lobster but he wouldn’t budge. We asked to speak to the manager and he claimed he was the manager. My boyfriend’s family has been going to this restaurant for many, many years. He was shocked at how unwilling to help this man was especially when the restaurant was empty. We deserved better. We decided to leave but he could’ve offered something for next time. This was all handled very unprofessionally. It’s a shame that we have to write this review for a restaurant we’ve always loved and enjoyed. Hopefully they’ll order more lobsters so this doesn’t happen again to us or to anybody else.

We received a birthday coupon that stated for my birthday that stated $15.00 off ANY order off $50. When the bill came, we were told we should have read the fine print for the lunch menu. We have dined at this restaurant for probably 30 years. We’re so sorry this restaurant has changed. . It used to be such a special place. Please beware.
