A great value for money authentic Cantonese and American Chinese comfort foods...Street parking and not as crowded as Chinatown, Flushing or Elmhurst
The food is always delicious, and the portion size is generous. Staff is friendly and makes you want to come back.
Yi Ku noodles seemed very fresh with great vegetables. Loose leaf jasmine tea was off the wall.
Very low key but great food. Came in a little late but they were very nice! Also served some tea in the beginning that was amazing.
Everything was absolutely delicious and the portions are large - had to take half of my food home.
My go to Chinese spot. Food is always fresh and delicious. The prices are reasonable and portions are good.
Just the best authentic Chinatown style restaurant for miles! Remember the dishes are large and the small soup is for 3. Vax friendly
Great food. Nice big portions. Big and clean restaurant. Great for groups of people. Been here many times and they never disappoint.
Our family often order their lunch for take away, their portion is big and the food is good too. We usually get the lunch dishes (also comes with rice on the side) instead of the over rice lunches because you get more.
Really good food with large portions. And great prices. Everything was real tasty from the big bowls of noodle soups to the pad thai dishes we got.
This place is fabulous! Huge menu with something for everyone. Big portions. Even the tea was outstanding. Good lunch specials too. And not expensive either.
Severely underrated hidden gem! Delicious authentic dishes playing to both simple and complex palates- great service and great food- tables are simple but don't let it fool you the chef knows what he's doing 😋
Great hole in the wall. Portions were great, flavor was on point and for good measure, many older Asians eating here. From my experience, if at an ethnic restaurant, only eat there if older people of that same ethni6eat there. It has certainly served me well this far.
Delicious food, especially the soy source duck and chicken. Reasonable price and generous portions.
A favorite go-to spot for take out or dine in! Their portions are generous and filling. We typically get the sweet and sour pork chops (that come with more meat than bone!), curried beef, stir fried grouper, and beef chow fun. You can also pick up Chinese BBQ (char siu, roast duck) here.
Coming from a HK family, with parents who immigrated here, finding good Cantonese food is not easy. This is a pretty decent place to eat. Authentic food, low prices. Would recommend their noodles
We were very pleased with this place. The food here is so tasty. This is what you call authentic Chinese food, nothing compared to fast food Chinese restaurants. We ate the Juicy pork buns, a red pork that we don’t know the name, chicken lo mein, among other things. The service is not the best since one of the ladies that helped us talked about us and was very rude the way she was handling us but everything else was good.
Great spot for authentic Chinese dishes. My go-to dishes are the bbq specialties. It never disappoints. Don't forget to snag a ginger scallion sauce. You can thank me later.
Friendly, delicious food!.. freshly cooked..ample sized portions and you can request low salt or etc... always worth the time and money.. highly recommended!!!👍
Great food and exceptional service. Was thoroughly impressed that the hostess, when it slowed down began to wipe down the entire front of the counters. Like I've always said ".. you got time to lean... You have time to clean (take some pride in where you work!!!)
great local place for home style Cantonese dishes. Fresh seafood and meat dishes - roast pork, ribs, duck and chicken. Slow cooked casserole clay pot also a favorite. Everything is cooked to order not pre-prepared. Lunch menu available with over rice dishes.
Awesome food ! Cambodian soup noodle , Fish maw soup , roasted duck , roasted pork and char stew are all wonderful !
We had an amazing experience at Wo Kee Noodle! The food was delicious, especially the shredded duck noodles and the dumplings. The service crew was quick and friendly. I highly recommend for anyone craving authentic Chinese cuisine!
WoKee....very good Cantonese style foods. Their roast meats are well prepared. This is the place we visit instead of going into Flushing or Chinatown. We dined in and had the roast pig today, it was delicious. Skin was nice and crunchy! Their beef chow ho fun 👍👍.
Wo Kee has become our extended family’s Sunday lunch spot. They have a big dining room that’s perfect for groups, and portions are generous — great for sharing. Solid, classic Chinese comfort food. The Fish Fillet Home Style and Double Cooked Pork (lechon-style pork belly with veggies in brown sauce) are always crowd-pleasers, even with the kids. They do Hot & Sour Soup right, and we always order the garlic snow pea leaves and pan-fried noodles. The crispy garlic chicken was a pleasant surprise too. Staff are friendly and quick, and the place is clean. Reliable, tasty, and great for group dining.
Had some lovely fried rice, spicy beef, soft shell crab, and soup! Will definitely come back. Thank you!
Do yourself a favor and get some duck and the royal fries chicken, they are truly life changing, also the customer service here is top knotch. They will accommodate any of you dietary needs.
Today, I attended a virtual meeting after dropping someone off at JFK. I was also quite hungry and decided to look for Asian restaurants nearby to find some comfort food. I'm absolutely thrilled that I chose Wo Lee Noodle. The atmosphere was calm and inviting. The owner graciously allowed me to participate in my meeting in a quieter area at the back of the restaurant, which had less foot traffic. As for the service and food, they were outstanding. I had my heart set on shumai, and the waitress kindly informed me that the savory dumpling contained pork. Since I’ve recently started cutting back, I hadn’t thought to ask. Instead, I ordered the shrimp dumplings! Oh my goodness, they were the freshest dumplings I have ever tasted. They are made fresh while you enjoy your drinks or appetizers! The quality of this place is impressive! I devoured the dumplings before I could snap a picture. You really must try them for yourself! ❤️
The parking for this restaurant is pretty easy. Directly outside is meter and one block away it's residential. The food portion was great and the roasted beef noodle has plenty of big chunks of meat. And the meats are juicy and succulent. The veggies have soul, it's delicious with hint of garlic, not too much not too little bit of salt. The pricing is pretty decent too.
I actually prefer Tasty House in Flushing but we were caught in the rain near St John's for the day. I always see it passing by so we finally had an opportunity to try it out. Food is pretty good and fresh. They don't have lai fun noodles which is what I wanted but they do have a good selection of other noodles to pick from. The woman serving us was nice and patient with us and helpful. The portions are good. I wish this place was here when I was a student still at St John's so I didn't have to trek out to Flushing after class all the time.
Although they gave me dumplings instead of pork buns, I will give them the benefit of the doubt. Great service and good food.
Best soups around! Food a well prepared and not grease. Nice little spot for dine in or take out.
There service is fast. I order general tos chicken which came out great with white rice , but mu wife order shrimp pat Tai, which was over cook and dry.
Only try them once. Noodles with duck was good. They give you the soup with the broth separated in a different bowl. Good idea this helps keep the noodles from getting overcooked by not sitting in Broth.
Great food and very nice service. Very good food too, except for the rice. AVOID THE RICE. I found aluminum foil and plastic particles in my rice, and my parent's rice wasn't cooked enough
Dine-in portions were enormous. Delicious Cantonese food. Large dining area. Would go here again for sure.
Great food but service really needs improvement. Weekend needs to call in to place order or you gonna wait good 10-15 mins.
Very good and tasty food; The soups were great; BUT..... We asked for water 3x and never got it. but if you were Asian, the wait staff would go over many times and ask if things were ok and were would be brought over...
Authentic, large tasty portions. Dim sum is available as well. Casual place in front of restaurant that is a bit hectic with an additional area that is a little more traditional and relaxed. Have visited twice now and never disappointed. I would go more often but only visit area occasionally to see grandson who attends nearby University.
Have been here twice since finding out about it. The dumplings are really good. The pork sui mai does taste a little weird but the other ones are good. Also have had the crispy duck and crispy pork. Both are great considering I haven't had them in a really long time. Our server, Amy, is great. Very friendly and great with kids. Dinner time is busy. But nothing too crazy. Gonna have to go back for dim sum one day.
The food was ok I guess. The wait for the food was kind of long but that's really all I can complain about. The staff were pretty nice. A thing to note when eating here: If you're use to the American dinning customs typically seen in other restaurants, remember that this is a traditional Chinese restaurant. Food isn't served the same way.
It is a good Chinese restaurant, I bought BBQ Pork take out few days ago, and they were good. Today I went there for dinner, all dishes are good - pork chop peking style, garlic fried chicken garlic (# 90), snow pea leave w, fresh garlic and a beef chow fun. All were great, the only complain I have was the fried chicken, some of the large pieces inside were still cold. Because of this disappointment, I have to take one star off. Overall the quality of food are good, price is fair. Definitely will come back again. Update about their DimSum that I tried on a Sunday morning - Their dim sum dishes are pretty disappointing, first they are mostly not hot, one dish was cold. I ordered 8 dishes it cost me $31 (before tips), compare to what you can get from Flushing, Elmhurst, or New East Ocean Palace will cost only half. I will not go for their dimsum (at no in 2017), but only their menu items and BBQ stuffs.
Ordered deliver twice from this place. The portions are pretty good. We tried the peking duck which was really tasty. Chicken with veggies, sweet and sour pork rib, Buddhist delight, chow mein, lo mein and Singapore noodle. All were good but avoid the veggie dumpling. It's just cabbage inside.
Very good lunch specials at good prices. Alot of delicious choices to choose from and good portions. Lunch specials good til 4pm. Unfortunately, as with most places after covid, prices have gone up! Lunch specials increased by $4! Portions still same & tasty.
Generally good Cantonese food and very good BBQ roast pork and soy sauce chicken. Prices are reasonable. Call in your takeout order to save time and your food will be ready by the time you arrive or shortly thereafter.
Our go-to local Chinese food restaurant. Great food. Good service. Good value.
Pretty authentic Cantonese cuisine. Tasty soy chicken. Good portions. So far my preferred eatery in the area for some no nonsense good food. Much preferred over the wannabe chic decor of some neighboring eats. Please...
Decent little place. It was pretty clean. service was super fast. Food was relatively good. Price was also good considering the amount of food you fett. I would go back if I had the chance. BUT, ots def not worth going out of your way for.
Above average Cantonese with accessible street parking. I use to always get roast pork over rice take out but this time decided to dine-in and to be quite honest, the entrées were quite large and tasty. The braised fish fillet and tofu casserole is my all-time favorite Cantonese dish and basically I try that at every new restaurant and Wo Kee didn’t disappoint. Pan fried noodle in my opinion had way too much fried noodles and not enough sauce but other than that the flavor was on point.
I've been here several times. They are definitely hit and miss. However, overall it is good. Fried squid is delicious when made fresh. I highly recommend the string beans with olive leaf. Sometimes it appears they give lesser amounts when there are less people at the table. This can be frustrating since you're still paying the same price..
Meh, Ok - typical Chinese restaurant - a little bit on the pricier side because of the location
Food is very good here but today I had to wait 45 minutes for a simple order!!! No seats to have your wait, so I had to stand the whole time. I advise you to call ahead probably 2 hours ahead because there were people who called in their orders and still had to wait!
This is a good place to get roast pig, soy sauce duck, soy sauce chicken, and roast pork charsui. We've been going to this place many times. During my recent visit, after eating and providing a tip, the lady who served us was demanding a higher tip. Tips SHOULD be compulsary NOT forced.
I have been going there weekly since they opened instead of the usual longer drive to downtown Flushing. Seems that it has gone from perfect to unsatisfying the past couple of times. The Noodles were greasy and shredding apart, maybe from being a day old. The Beef with scallions was greasy with very little beef. As they say in baseball, 3 strike you're out. so I will hopefully enjoy it next time
Came here several times. Now you can get Chinese BBQ near Fresh Meadows. Food is good there. We were here last time for dinner. The food was not as good as before. Not sure it was because the chef was off or the chef had a bad day on that day. We were totally disappointed. I have removed one star from my rating.
good basic food, large portions, the fried stuff is greasy. The dim sum on saturday is not good, i was belching pork all night. i like the lunch specials but the a la carte regular menu seems pricey especially paying $15.99 for the dandelion greens. The staff could be a bit nicer but once you engage them they are very nice. the owner or the manager is not pleasant and never says thank you when you leave. I go there regularly and he never initiates a "hello". Overall its close to my home and work and the food is consistent.
I order bunch of items 2 ribs of roast pig, half roast duck, noodles.... take out. What a disappointment. 1 star. The guy mess up my order. Roast pig is not the rib areas. It tones of fat. It barley has any meat. Mostly are fat..it is. 3 stars. Roast duck did not have the plum sauces. Tasted of duck is nothing wow about it. Bland... noodles soup tasted kind of weird. Does not bri gbout the taste of the rest of the dishes. 2 stars chicken stick just tasted like street food. Disappointed. Mot sure if I have high home on other dishes I wnat to try.
The first time I tried the food at this place it was a great experience. The food was great. The portions were big. Today I ordered food again and the portion felt like it was so much smaller than last time. I thought it would be enough to go around but it was not. Pretty disappointed. The containers they used were smaller than I thought. If I had known, I would have ordered somewhere else.
3.5 On Union Turnpike, near St John's University, with a few other eateries nearby. Got a bowl of egg noodle soup with shrimp balls (like fish balls only). I liked the noodles which had a bite to them, and the broth was mild flavored but good. Large bowl so could only finish half of it Saw the bbq meats in the window so got the 3 meats over rice - double portion roast pig and 1 roast duck (no more soy sauce chicken that day). The roast pig had very crispy skin, the pork had good flavor; the roast duck though had hardly any meat but the skin was tasty. Decided to return to get bbq meats over rice for take out. Noted prices were $1-2 less for takeout. Service was ok, fast.
This is a nice place to go to if you want something casual, you don't feel like cooking or want something different for a change. The ambience is nice, the staff courteous, service is quick. This is a no-frills place. The food is good and the portions huge. They served us piping hot tea upon arrival. We started with barbecue chicken and vegetable spring rolls. For the main course we ordered fish fillet cooked with spicy cabbage and shrimp Mei Fun. We had to order white rice separately as it didn't come with the entree. The Mei Fun was delicious. The portion is so huge that 2 people can comfortably share it. The fish portion was big too. The only thing about the fish was that the sauce was too oily. We, a family of 4 ate dinner and brought home enough leftovers for lunch then next day!
For lunch Togo I ordered a large wonton soup & L282 Hokkein rice (mei-fun). At first bite I felt the chicken was hard and chewy. Every piece after was the same. The chicken is from frozen. The soup was tasteless. My lunch was $25 and a total disappoint. I might go back and try some other dishes but will eat in for sure.
9/20/16 I went to get some food with the family since its a new restaurant. Upon entering, the place smelled like raw meat. Probably due to the hanging ducks on the window. They serve you a pot of tea which we didn't drink due to the pot looking unsanitary. Then we noticed the chef coming from the kitchen while blowing his nose! I got disgusted when he didn't bother washing his hands. He just started chopping meat with his butcher knife. While looking at the menu there was a lot to choose from, but after seeing that we decided to walk out. The girl at the other table got her dish served with a big serving spoon and they didn't bother giving out utensils. Not recommended!
i’m very disappointed because i had high expectations. the sesame chicken sauce was very runny and too sweet. the fried rice had barely any flavor and was unseasoned. pork congee had very little flavor and wasn’t enjoyable to eat.
Been going here for almost a year and food and service has been at times good and at other times sub par. Our latest visit which will be my last I ordered the roast duck over rice. To give you an idea of what is coming up, they prepare the duck at the front of the restaurant. I went to the restroom on the kitchen side of the restaurant and when I was walking back to my table in the other room, I saw the server bringing my plate which was already prepared from the front of the restaurant to the kitchen. I told my wife I saw something weird, the server brought my plate to the kitchen and my wife said they are probably adding something to my dish. I told her I took a good look at it and the plate was completed with the rice, duck, vegi and egg. I know this because I order this all the time. The server came back to bring my dish. Not to my surprise it tasted different than when I have always ordered in the past. A little on the sour side. I suspected that the duck was not fresh and the restaurant knew it so put something on it from the kitchen to hide the sour taste. I have no evidence of this, however you can put 2 and 2 together from what I saw and from my experience of the dish being a different taste then what I usually had.
It was one of the worste experience in a restaurant. They force you to tip. They basically shamed me for leaving a 2 dollar tip. We didnt order much food. And they ask to leave 15% tip. It was so bad.
I can't believe until this day, these Chinese restaurants, can never and will never think outside the box. You want chicken with broccoli and you tell them to substitute the white rice for vegetable fried rice, and they insist that the order only comes with white rice. I told him, just change the white rice for the other rice. He just stood there, like a frikin gerbal, and insisted white rice. Very stupid
Ordered roasted port and duck over rice. For the first time in my life, I saw roasted duck neck served. This is beyond disgusting. Despicable place, stay away
Horrible chinese food. All the dishes are miss guided from their origins. Felt like the chef collected the scraps from leftover and try to be creative the second before your order. If u want to taste the real chinese food, dont even think about coming here. If u r just hungry and dont know what to eat, I would recommend a sandwich from next door. I'm here to saving u from a disappointment (again) and a dignity of rich and complex chinese cuisine.
It so bad I buy half chicken they give you 1/4 here and 1/4 there and cut so small so you do not know is not real 1/2 chicken.
Personally didn’t like the food at, bland and cold. Was still generous enough to give a $5 tip on a $40 order despite horrible service and the waitress came and threatened me to change my tip. I changed it to $0. Avoid this place at all cost!
Terrible experience. No soup or rice included in meal never seen that before. No utensils no water and when I did ask for water they gave us 2 waters with no ice or straws dirty cups My mom got short ribs didn't eat them because they were like rubber we complained and expected to get something off the bill or offered another meal because she didn't eat but nope all we got was a "sorry". Believe it or not we are not picky people I've never written a bad review but when someone's food didn't come out good to the point where they didn't eat they should be compensated. Stick to the noodles I guess.
Place had more flies than a garbage dump and it was cold out so where are they coming from? They served tea and I think it was full of seaweed leaves.BBQ pork was cold and it was served over rice.I asked the waitress a question and she got defensive and all I wanted to do was order.well after eating I pretty much had a stomach ache for the rest of the night.Going to pass this up next time. Its a shame King Yum closed those people new how to run a restaurant.
What a disappointment!!!!! Used to love this place and come here every weekend. 3 months no visit due to covid and today first time back ordering take out.... OMG. Not sure what happen they might have lost a chef or something.... food taste nasty not fresh and everything is over cooked and dry. Also if u were looking for lunch special don't bother. they said there is no more lunch special everything is full dinner price. They try to stuff all the food in the take out box which dont even fit. All the sauce is leaking out from the box. what a mess!!! I will not recommand anyone to try this place out now.
Not a good place to eat. General Tso’s chicken, the most basic entree was subpar. The sauce was too liquidy and there was way too much broccoli instead of chicken. There are no combination platters with fried rice. You must pay for fried rice as a separate entree along with the white rice that automatically comes with the meal. That’s how they steal from you. Go get a sandwich next door or walk to chef’s garden, a much better Chinese place. I’d rather walk the extra half mile in the cold than settle for this place ever again.
Table menu had a maggot on it. Waiter was dismissive about it. Food was also mediocre - - quality on veggy - red bell pepper had black spots on it - Scallop tasted a little off (didn't get sick, fortunately) - Food was only slightly warm. Not hot
The food wasn't good and they added their own tips to our receipts
VERY bad. Although the food was good the server was RUDE and BAD did not even gave us water right after giving us our own order and waited until we asked for it and the food was COLD AS HELL. The waiter even have the audacity to ask for the tip like...?
I brought the Peking duck . It was served do choppy. It did not look appealing. I ate it and got food poisoning the next day. Had 3 days of diarrhea. Will never go back. If u want good duck. Go to China town in Manhattan. The best 👌
Ordered a chicken lunch for $17, and the food was plain and tasteless (just like a previous reviewer noted). Broccoli was hard and not well cooked. Would not go back. Too bad cuz was first time (and only time) ordered here. Took a few bites and then lost my appetite and threw the rest away.
Why does the Mapo tofu taste the way the way it does? Doesn’t taste like Mapo tofu at all. Why is it minty? What is that? Greatly disappointed.
Ordered spare ribs with black bean sauce over rice. It was so nasty, it's like eating jellied meat. They put too much corn starch in most foods making everything congealed-like. Their food used to be good, I don't know if they changed cooks, but beware and tell them not too much corn starch.
