Opinions de Hino Oishi Fresno
This food was great. I loved my wahoo fish tacos and jalapeño rolls. Sooooo recommended if u like fish but they do have other meats. Steak chicken shrimp I’ll definitely be going back. The customer service was excellent top notch. Pics might not give the real justice it deserves.
It was our first time here and stepping into the restaurant felt like I was at the beach. The food was fresh, delicious, and flavorful. The pricing was very reasonable and not outrageous like some other places.. They have meat and fish and you can mix and match it which was cool. The portions were very generous and service was friendly and quick. Will be coming back here soon!
The food was great. My son loved the salmon and rice 🍚.
Their logo was deceiving as we thought they only served fish entrees. Definitely our new go to as we all had different types of meals and all of them were delicious! This fish place in our opinion was better than the Mexican restaurant right across from it. Will be returning and is conveniently located. Well worth the price and wasn’t as expensive as I imagined it to be. We dined in before going to see our movie across the way.
Truly amazed!! This was my first time dinning here and my entire experience was AWESOME!! The service was really friendly and fast!! The environment was really cool! I love all the decorations and colors on everything!! The selection of plates it’s really unique and I personally loved it!! When the food arrived (which was very fast) i was pretty happy with the portion size and also with how good everything tasted!! Everyone was so friendly! I HIGHLY recommend it!!
First time trying this place, i will definitely be back to try other things on the menu . I had sunset salad with i think he said it was a pepper sauce ( it was green) . Ohh so delicious, i cant wait to try the tacos next. Service was great, Campus dr location, it was clean inside.
This place never disappoints! Always fresh and delicious. The fish tacos are the best! I have been going to Wahoo's since they first opened in Fresno, and it never gets old. Great menu choices, fast service and delicious food!
Great place, never have had a bad experience. We bring our friends and family here, and they fall in love with it as well.
I have had one bad service here but the bartender came and service us and she also remember me from a past time being here if it wasn't for her I don't think I would keep coming the food is really good and over all the services and food is great
Quick, friendly service. Delicious burrito outer rim added guacamole and sour cream. Great flavor.
Omg!!! Mi first time here!!! And the food was BOOM 💥 the best wet burrito ever, I love it definitely I'll keep coming! 💯👍💯
The service is always great, the food is really good and the prices are reasonable. Highly recommend!
I came across a Wahoo Associate named John or maybe he was the owner because I complemented his Ronald McDonald socks and we got to chatting and I passed him my business card and he told me he worked here so I took my girlfriend and daughter here to eat and we all enjoyed our meals our plates were spotless when we were done. They have good dipping sauces as well. We ordered the fuego fish taco, jalapeño rolls, fish sandwich with Cajun fries, and two Asads tacos with the green sauce. We then went next door for some ice cream after . I give Wahoos a 10 of 10 for good food at reasonable prices. Cashier was nice and helpful.
The service was quick and the food was great! The location is easy to find. The seating is open, but very clean. Great place for a quick lunch.
Enjoyed my first experience at Wahoo's today. We sat outside and the atmosphere was nice and our waiter Daniel was very attentive and never let our drinks go empty! The nachos were delicious as were the drinks! Can't wait for my next visit
Just popped in for a quick bite at the tail end of happy hour. I sat at the bar and was served by Steven, he was great, quick to get my order and checked on me at reasonable intervals. Easy and friendly interaction overall. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is on whoever should have been running food, which, based on my own experience in the industry, was probably the rest of the crew as it was a slow Monday and bartenders tend to be trapped behind the bar. I ordered nigiri and it took probably about 10 minutes to be delivered, I heard him ask a server to check on it but they never came back. He eventually went and got it himself, apologizing for the delay. Again, nothing against him here - he was busy making drinks the whole time. But once I took a bite of room temp tuna, it confirmed that it was ready and waiting a bit for a runner. This might not be a common occurrence but I've seen similar delays during past experiences, having to even ask a couple times about an item before it was delivered. Full hands in, full hands out (of the Back of House) and general team work would help with this issue. I'll keep on coming back cause the food, service, and vibe is generally great. While still a bit pricey(cause its seafood, duh) this is some of the most reasonable prices in town for sushi. Just wish the happy hour was a smidgen longer so I could actually get to it after work more often. 🥲
I have been to Hino Oishi several times. The food is delicious, I would recommend you to call ahead, because it is always busy. The service is great, I only rated the atmosphere at a 3 star rating because it does get rather loud, from drums, and all the patrons. It can make it difficult to hear at times.
Had Dino as a server on Christmas Eve. He was hands down the best server I've ever had, anywhere. We came in with my 4 girls and he interacted with them so well and treated us like superstars. He visited us regularly, made us laugh, and recommended great food. It was a great experience.
Great food and great service. Everyone was super kind and attentive. We ate in the dining room, it was busy and a little loud but ran well. Our food was all fantastic and good quality. We loved the octopus salad!
We go to this place quite often probably once a month or so all the way from Hanford and it’s well worth it. The food the atmosphere the service and the surrounding areas are great. There’s a section for the Teppanyaki show or just private dining either way the food and drinks or top-notch And definitely recommend it’s worth the drive if you’re from out of town like us. The pricing isn’t too bad either considering the quality of food and service that you get.
We came in pleasantly surprised after sitting down in their dinning area of the special at dinner. Very good. Plenty of food. Wife and I shared and still had some to take home. Very nice employees. Would go every time I visit Fresno!
Great place for sushi, date nights, celebrations and overall atmosphere. The sushi was fresh and well put together. They have a MASSIVE selection of rolls to choose from as well as sashimi, nigiri and everything else you could imagine. Friendly staff and decent wait times. I recommend making a reservation especially for Fri and Sat nights. The apps took quite a while and they did forget one of our rolls but the server was really good. Prices a bit on the high side compared to other places but not bad. Overall great food and a great experience.
We had a really great experience here. our server, Landen, was amazing. He was on top of everything and had great recommendations. The food was delish. We sat in the dining room area but the teppanyaki side seemed popular too. We will be back, I look forward to seeing the new building. Thanks again Landen!
We celebrated our daughter's birthday week at this restaurant, and it was a delightful experience. My kids, who are 10 and 7 years old, thoroughly enjoyed the teppanyaki experience. The chef and staff went above and beyond to ensure it was a memorable celebration for her. The portion sizes were generous, and the chef was knowledgeable and experienced. The teppayanki shrimp and chicken tasted fresh and perfect. There is a wait time even on weekday afternoons. I would recommend a reservation. You may have to share a table with other guests if you are fewer than 6 people. The guests who joined us were polite and kind to us. One-of-a-kind dining experience.
Great place. You have two options here: one is like Benihana style where the chef cooks in front of you. I didn’t try that one. The other option is a traditional seating. We visited this restaurant during the long weekend of Memorial Day. We were a party of 13 and the wait wasn’t too long for dinner. Food is great, so great that one of my friends is thinking about driving back here for lunch (2 hours drive from San Jose). My 10 years old son always eat nigiri, edamame and he likes it. I ordered teriyaki steak and salmon with stirred fried vegetable, really good. My friend said her fried rice was good. I recommend this place.
We’ve been to Hino quite a few times, it’s always been great. Always packed so make sure you have the time. The food is plenty and tasty. We like the sushi rolls, and teppanyaki. The filet, chicken, shrimp are delicious with, of course, the fried rice. If you like some spice, their spicy mayo is a must. Staff is friendly and consistently checks on you for refills, etc. The best teppanyaki place in town hands down.
The restaurant is located right next to Mad Duck by Maya Cinemas. There’s plenty of parking. The restaurant is very beautiful and big. I was greeted right when I walked in. They offer sushi and teppanyaki. My guest and I opted to do a booth for dining in. I love how the restaurant sectioned off teppanyaki into its own large room and regular dine-in with its own open large room. They even sectioned off another area for dining at the bar with TV. The bathrooms are clean and beautiful. They have a large menu selection of food. We ordered three signature rolls total and they were all tasty. We had the Landon Roll, Mamba Roll, and Kamikaze Roll. We also ordered a large bacon fried rice. The food all came out pretty quick and our server named Dillan did a great job tending to us such as refilling our water and checking up on us. I also shared with the waiter that it was my guest’s birthday. After we finished eating and packed our leftovers, he cleared and cleaned our table and brought out a cute little fruit platter of pineapple shaped/cut into a fish with an orange made into a cute little cake. They also sang a Japanese song and had a gong for her to hit. (We had opted out of the Japanese drumming since it reminded us of a funeral drumming sound in our culture.) With three signature sushi rolls, a shareable bowl of bacon fried rice, and a Pepsi, my tab came out to a little over $80 without tip. Everything went great. I would come back again!

Great location across from Maya theater. Lots to pick from - bowls, tacos, burritos, salads, meatless protein and tofu. Large, covered patio with TVs and lots of seating for outdoor eating.
Carnitas were on point in flavor. I will order again. The Asada was defetnely lacking flavor. I wasn't a fan of it. Shrimp was on point full of flavor. The rice and beans were really good. Tofu and the vegetables were good. The shrimp taco was good and their nachos too. I will come back again! P.S. as for the restroom if anyone cares, they were decent to use, floors were a little too dirty and the sink was clean.
Wahoo's Fish Tacos on 3053 Campus Dr in Fresno is a vibrant spot that brings a unique blend of Mexican and Brazilian flavors to the local dining scene. Known for its laid-back surf culture vibe and fresh, flavorful menu items, this eatery offers a casual dining experience that's hard to beat. Pros: Fresh and Tasty Food: The fish tacos are the star of the menu, made with perfectly cooked fish, fresh salsa, and just the right touch of lime. Variety in Menu: Beyond tacos, they offer a range of options including enchiladas, salads, and a selection of vegetarian choices. Casual and Fun Atmosphere: The surf-themed decor and relaxed environment make it a great place for a casual lunch or dinner. Excellent Service: Staff are friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience from start to finish. Cons: Limited Seating: The space can feel a bit cramped during peak hours, making it hard to find seating. Noise Levels: The casual vibe can get noisy, particularly when the restaurant is full, which might not suit everyone. Experience: Stepping into Wahoo’s, you're immediately greeted by the cheerful staff and the inviting smell of grilled fish. The decor is fun and authentically surf-inspired, with various surfboards and beach-themed paraphernalia adorning the walls. The fish tacos, highly recommended, are a delight with their fresh, clean flavors and perfect textural contrast between the soft tortilla and the crispy fish. Adding to the meal, the house-made salsas bring a vibrant kick that complements the dishes beautifully. For those looking for something a bit different, the fusion bowls with a base of rice and beans topped with your choice of protein are hearty and satisfying. Whether you’re craving their signature fish tacos or want to dive into a fusion bowl, Wahoo’s delivers a consistently enjoyable experience that keeps locals and visitors coming back for more.
Food is great, in house service is good. Online service is horrible though they will not answer they phone and will hang up on you. Other than that great place because the rude people have nothing to do with how good the food is
I just had a very bad experience, which surprises me because we're big fans of eating here for every celebration we have in the teppanyaki area, and everything is always great. But today we decided to eat on the other side, at the regular tables, and they took more than an hour to serve us. It seemed like they had forgotten our order. When they finally brought my dish, it was cold and dry; I felt like I was eating leftovers.
Nice people, good food. We had Teppanyaki which was decent. Great filet. We ordered two NA beers and they brought out two real beers, just a simple mistake, but still.\n\nIMO, the hot and spicy sauce…

This place isn't bad, the wait time was an hour for sit down table and two hours for hibachi. Must have been because of the holiday. We chose the sit down table and the service was great and the food was good. The kalbi beef was juicy and seared just right, the lobster shrimp dish was tasty and the scallops were cooked just right they were spicy if you're into that but very good. The sushi rolls were ok the twin tower had an interesting crunch to it and the maui roll tasted good but was nothing special.

Service was horrible kept getting passed by the waitress and she was 5feet away 25 mins just to get her to look my way and ask for my check, food was alright. And even though its the same restaurant you can't have numbers on the tall tables waitress was rude about it even though I said it was my first time there, now it'll be my last time there
We love coming here expect for today that we had bad customer service. We got here and asked for a seating, the lady in the front with the blondd highlights helped. She was seating us at a table and that’s when we asked if we can seat at a booth. She hesitated and said it would be 5-10 min late for a booth and we said it was fine. Mind you there were two booth that were cleaned down and two that needed to be cleaned. She stated all need to be cleaned which is fine I guess. I added myself to the waitlist for a booth. Then shortly after a couple of 4 comes in and they quickly get seated in a booth. Minutes after we get called to seat. They just had us wait and attended other people which is so weird. The worst thing after that when we finally get seated we get seated in a wet booth, the seats were fully wet and I told my partner and the blonde lady (same lady) heard and ignored us. Now my bottom was wet and we all felt uncomfortable. I had to stand multiple time and wipe off it dry. Please have better host in the front, especially when we are okay waiting. Bad customer service I hope this doesn’t happened again considering we come often. The host lady with the blond hair should seat people where it’s not wet and not have them wait if they are letting other people in front.
I came for lunch and ordered ahead online. I was on my lunch break and placed the order online, so it could be ready by 12:30pm. I arrived and was informed that my order was not ready and that it should be ready in 10 minutes. I kept waiting and nothing. I had to ask how much longer and just decided to cancel the order as it still was not ready even after waiting in the restaurant for 30 minutes. I had placed the order for pick up at 12:30pm and it is now 1pm and it was still not ready. I cancelled the order as my lunch is now over and the manger wanted to refund me on a gift card instead of my original payment. There was no apology and with my experience I will not be recommending this restaurant. It was a waste of my time and gas.
Just be aware if they try to conserve space and put you with a party your not gonna eat til maybe 1hr. I was tryna treat myself to a self care day but didn’t occur and got my weekend start off badly. I do frequent this place. Been going after work to eat but by 205 no chefs had came out to start cooking. Serve didn’t even acknowledge me, drink order was not taken til after she made the drinks and realized she was missing a drink to head count. Was seated at 128 and left at 205 since I was starving this was my lunch. Staff said was I in a hurry, no I’m just hungry and only salad came out no signs of chef coming. idk how the serve didn’t take my drink order when they had two host and she only had maybe 5 on my side of the table?? Was told your with a party of 14, that’s def not my problem I was a paying customer to eat. Maybe next time don’t place a party of one with such a large crowd. On top of the party of 14 they added a party of two after drinks were serve. Time just kept rolling. I know how things work at this location but wow; Very upsetting!!!
