LOVE THIS PLACE! Perfect for special occasions and the staff are always nice and attentive. My husband and I have been here a handful of times (it would be more if they were open on Sundays because we always get random cravings on Sundays for this place). The steak is always cooked to a perfect medium rare, and the seafood pasta is DELICIOUS!
This restaurant deserves 10 STARS. This is the best European restaurant in Fresno and one of the best in the city, period. We did not have a reservation on a very busy holiday, but they were kind enough to accommodate us after calling just a little while before. The service was impeccable throughout, from the owner and head chef Thomas, the wonderful manager and all serving staff. The food is absolutely perfect. The scallop appetizer is genuinely one of the most delicious things I have ever tasted. From the many tasty drinks they have to the starters, mains, and desserts, we were shocked by how accurately French and Italian the dishes are. They are crafted with utmost attention to detail. The restaurant is clean, well-kept, tastefully decorated, and is not too large so it feels very enjoyable. This was our second visit and there will be many more! Thank you Thomas and everyone involved with this incredible establishment. It's a place I would recommend to anyone. It genuinely is one of my favorite restaurants in the world.
L’Aperitif is a fusion bistro that (in my opinion) serves some of the best French dishes in town. Dish Breakdown ✨ Tapas (Beef Meatballs, Escargot, Tuna Carpaccio, Spicy Baked Mussels, Spicy Baked Scallops) • The Tuna 🍣 Carpaccio was a standout — fresh tuna balanced beautifully with olive oil, basil, onion, and lemon, bringing out layers of freshness and umami that linger on the palate. • The Escargot 🐌 came smothered in rich butter and garlic, enhancing the earthy snail meat with a savory punch. • The Spicy Baked Mussels & Scallops were incredibly addictive — the sauce had just the right heat and depth, perfect for dipping bread and savoring every last drop. 🥩 Tomahawk Steak • A feast for the table — bold flavors elevated with herb butter and roasted cherry tomatoes. While juicy and flavorful, it could’ve been perfect with a more even cook throughout the cut. 🍝 Chef Thomas’ House Bolognese Spaghetti • Simple yet outstanding. The sauce had depth without being overwhelming, coating the pasta just right — classic comfort food elevated to a house specialty. 🍮 Crème Brûlée • Hands down one of the best I’ve had anywhere. The caramelized sugar had the perfect level of crisp, giving way to a rich, eggy custard base. The tart fresh berries🍓 balanced the sweetness beautifully. 🍸 French Kiss Cocktail • A cute and playful drink with a sweet profile. The berry garnish and layered colors made it as pleasing to the eyes as it was refreshing to sip. Ratings (0–10) • Tastiness: 9.5/10 • Price Appropriateness: 8.5/10 • Portion Size: 7/10 • Overall Experience: 9.5/10
On my first visit to L’Apéritif Bistro, a French-Italian restaurant, I ordered spicy baked scallops, scallops on shell, scallops risotto, and paella. The food was astonishingly delicious with high-quality ingredients. This is one of my favorite seafood places featuring French and Italian style. The atmosphere was very cozy for dinner. The service was excellent. I recommend this restaurant to French and Italian cuisine lovers.
Came here for an anniversary date night and we loved it! The service was excellent and our waitress was super knowledgeable. She asked if it was our first time and she went over the menu, highlighting popular dishes. Our first time having frog legs and they were so good, seasoned very well. The pasta sauce was homemade and had a sweet-tangy taste to it. The paella had great heat to it and flavorful. The protein portions were very generous. We tried three different mixed drinks (Stockholm royale, French kiss, and Neroli) and enjoyed every single one. Definitely will return.
Omg this place is amazing. Such a hidden gem. The people there are so nice. The food is spectacular. Honestly sad this pace has been open for a couple years and only finding it now. Had the tomahawk steaks and they were amazing. We ordered a bit of everything and every dish was perfection.
Oh my goodness, this restaurant is a gem. My husband and I enjoyed a fabulous meal for our anniversary. The chef's experience showed in his choice of fresh herbs and spices in just the right amounts to make our dishes absolutely delicious. The owner Noi greeted us warmly and made us feel very special. The atmosphere is a nice mixture of friendly and a little bit romantic. Our server Hope did a lovely job of making sure we had everything we needed. She answered all of our questions and made great recommendations. This may become our new favorite restaurant and we will absolutely be going back.
Takes you out of Fresno for a moment. Music and ambience… Miss Noi is so friendly and social. The food is always 10/10! Today I brought my cousin to try it out and we devoured everything! Miss Noi was shocked lol. I highly recommend this restaurant!!!!! And I am definitely a returning customer! It took me a handful of visit to post a review because we always dug right in. This time I captured my dishes! Dishes: (Brussels sprouts, baked Brie with honey (fire!) , Luc Lac (steak bites) , Spaghetti Bolognese , and baked shrimp bacon(I think that’s what it was called… )
Recently went for a birthday dinner of 7. Was so special. Service was great Atmosphere is fabulous. I would definitely put in the romantic dinner for 2 category. So if you want that special evening, and like great food, this is the place. Full bar, good wine selection. Family owned and they are enjoying it. A must try. Had the mushroom ravioli special. Salmon Escargot Garlic potatoe appetizer Yum I will Definitely dine here again and look forward to it!
Fantastic find during a business trip. Wonderful selection of food options and wine. A truly sensual treat for your palate. Expertly crafted by Tom and beautiful served by his wife Nio. A lovely couple who delight in providing the freshest ingredients. I am going back for dinner again tonight. See menu. Make reservations to assure your place for a lovely evening out or a celebration dinner. You will not be disappointed.
Well Fresno surprises again! In a quiet strip mall off the beaten path, lies a French inspired restaurant headed by a taste bud tentilizing genius. Thomas dances on your tongue with his magic fingers as he conducts sauces of a lifetime. If you hate flavor, don’t come here. But for those thirsty to experience life one flavor at a time you found your holy match. A must eat at restaurant in this town of farm to table. To top it off the service is like tying a bow on top of a present.

Welcome to a cozy, warm and inviting restaurant. Family owned. When entering your greeted with a smile and friendly host. The overall food and service was wonderful. Amazing choices offered. This is a place to come for a dinner and not feel rushed. Definitely will be going back soon.
This place is seriously the best! I ordered a tomahawk ribeye and it was one of the best steaks I've ever had in my entire life! Everyone at our table loved their food. I cannot wait to come back! Also, we each tried some of their specialty cocktails and they were also delicious! Not a bad bite or sip the entire night, 10/10!
The minute you open the door at L'Apéritif Bistro, you realize this restaurant is different: the decor combines relaxed seating with signs depicting Paris, London and New York. The starters are novel and varied-we had octopus, tuna, and edamame, and each was delicious. Main courses followed suit, with everyone being delighted by the presentation and taste of the chicken, beef, and fresh fish. I ordered the Chef's Salad and I've rarely had greens and fruit that were so tasty and fresh--and the vinaigrette dressing was just yummy. You can tell this Bistro is a family-owned restaurant by the atmosphere. The owners (one of whom is the Chef) are welcoming and are happy to mingle and help out behind the bar. Our server was also as sweet as the outstanding creme brulee. L'Apéritif Bistro is the place to go when you want to take your time, enjoy your company, and eat deliciously prepared food, in surroundings that are warm and friendly.
If you are looking for an incredible meal in Fresno, L'Aperitif Bistro is a must-visit. While the food itself was absolutely amazing, what truly set this experience apart was the world-class service. As someone with specific food restrictions, eating out can often feel like a gamble or a burden. However, our server, Mark, made all the difference. He was exceptionally caring, attentive, and knowledgeable. From the moment we sat down, he made me feel completely welcome and went above and beyond to ensure my meal was safely and deliciousy accommodated. It is rare to find a place that balances high-end bistro flavors with such genuine, personalized care. Whether you have dietary concerns or just want a flawless night out, ask for Mark—he’ll take great care of you.

Hidden gem. Fresh ingredients. Great service...isabelle...delivery was spot on. Owner/ chef Thomas visited tables and made sure experience was what expected..definitely a restaurant to find and return to!! Very-good experience!

This place is a hidden gem. The food is so unique, creative and exceptional. So many items on the menu that I can't get anywhere else and/or the best I've had. The cocktails and service are above and beyond. Thoughtful, approachable and remarkably friendly staff and owners. The atmosphere is spot on at the bar or tables. Anytime I take my friends or family to this restaurant, they fall in love and can't believe they haven't tried it. Will take photos next time! A true 'hidden gem' in the area!
A French restaurant exists within Fresno! We tried the Pasta Bolognese with ground Filet Mignon, Chicken Aux Champione, and meatballs with potatoes au Fromage. Food was good. Noi was very welcoming, friendly, and generous. The atmosphere was very romantic and I liked the background music too.
This is in the old Shenanigans club. Same layout but different decor. Dark ambience. Clean. Our waitress was so helpful with it being our first time, and she was patient with us too. Customer and table service was perfect. Booths are comfortable. Food was tasty. But Dee was disappointed because her 3 scallops plate cost her $39. Expensive place but worth trying at least once:)
Good food but I expected more from the lobster risotto. The lobster wasn’t as fresh and had a fishy smell. The clams were delicious and full of Asian fusion flavors. Skip the steak and tiramisu. Otherwise definitely check it out once.

The good: great service, prices, and drinks. Beef bourguignon was incredible. The OK: cassoulet. Sausage and beans were REALLY good, but they stuck in boiled chicken breast and a broiled ham hock into the pan. This was a severe letdown. I don’t claim to know how to profitably run a restaurant serving slow braised dishes, but sticking boiled chicken breast into a cassoulet and failing to use the ham hock for its intended purpose can’t be it. Plan to come back to try other dishes, but that’s only because the service and beef bourguignon were so good.
I don't understand all the 'Golden Five Star' reviews at all. I had the seafood panella and it was terrible --- old tasteless rubber lobster and 3 chewy mussels. I gave up on one mussel for fear of midnight retaliation. 3 fresh but tasteless scallops. The shirmp was fresh but somehow without seasoning. Not a $55 dish. That poor aged lobster was embarrassed to be on my plate so I removed from my dish. I complained to the owner/chef about the lobster and he blamed it on his sous chef! The sous chef works for you! You are responsible for the quality of your food Two stars for the food is generous. I have trouble believing that all the 5 stars are honest reviews. No.No.No. PS: Per comments that I noticed in other reviews, the coke really does come in the can.
