Oh my Holy BBQ God’s, Hutchins BBQ is my #1 BEST bbq place I’ve ever eaten at. The hubby and I have been to many, and my all time favorite has always been Franklin’s and LA’s bbq, but Hutchins is by far my favorite. The line was long on a Saturday evening, but it was so worth it. It is great they have so many smokers and warmers to have enough for everyone until closing time, and that we don’t wait in line and they run out and we get sent home without bbq. The best part was the bbq, no their free warm peach cobbler, no their free banana pudding, it was all the BEST! The Texas Twinkie is to die for, I have never had one and it was DELICIOUS. Oh, they also have real bacon bits to put in your potatoe, not that imitation stuff. You can sit outside, and there is alot of seating inside. Take a marker if you want to write on their wall and leave your mark. Loved it all! Will be coming back again. Thank you to everyone who was kind to us being our first time.
The best BBQ, Ive ever had. There is a line so be prepared to wait. The lone goes pretty quick. While we were waiting some of the staff came out with samples. We got to try the Frito Pie sausage. So good. When we got up to order our meats the server gave us a sample of Wagyu Pastrami and the Beef Rib. Delicious. Everyone who worked there was so friendly and accommodating they gave us excellent recommendations. And don’t forget the complimentary peach cobbler when you dine in! Everything was a 10/10
Reviews definitely meet our standards as well. Food was delicious and fresh. Beef rib, twinkies, and jalapeños cheddar sausage are my favorite. Our buser Sofia was super attentive and answered all our questions, since it was our first time coming. Will be coming back soon when in town. ☺️🤍
The smell of smoked meat was enchanting for at least one block surrounding the place. The line was ridiculously long so we used the walk in take out line. I didn't use the bathroom but everything seemed clean. Service was swift and pleasant. The prices are high but the quality of food unmatched, so it's worth it. We got brisket, turkey, as chicken, and some ends as well as creamed corn, beans, broccoli salad, and Mac n cheese. All the sides were tastey. The brisket was unbelievable! The poultry good but I would stick with the beef next time, simply because it was unreal while the poultry was ok for my preference. Thank you!
Staff was awesome! Food was good. A bit greasy but delicious. We got there for lunch and there was a line but it moved pretty quick. I'd definitely eat there again. We tried the brisket, original sausage and texas twinkle. For the sides we got loaded mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese. The banana pudding was scrumptious!! Ice cream machine was down so didn't get to try that with the cobbler but it was still all soo yummy!
Hutchins BBQ – Frisco (North Dallas, Texas) Highly recommended by many friends, Hutchins BBQ was a must-visit on my trip to Dallas. I drove north through the city to Frisco, and the moment I arrived, I knew this place was special. The restaurant sits in a large house-style building, with multiple offset smokers right at the entrance. The rising smoke and irresistible aroma alone are enough to pull everyone inside. Honestly, a pit tour here would be fascinating—watching raw meat transform into legendary Texas BBQ up close. The ordering process follows a cafeteria-style setup. You order at the counter, choosing your proteins from a large menu board. Meats are priced by the pound, which allows you to talk directly with the staff and order exactly how much you want. The team patiently walked me through their highlights: sliced or chopped brisket, pulled pork, beef ribs, St. Louis–style pork ribs, several sausage options (Original, Jalapeño Cheddar, and Texas Hot Links on weekends), plus turkey and chicken. A heads-up: beef ribs are extremely popular and often sell out, especially later in the day—arriving early is strongly recommended. On weekends, they sometimes offer special items like Wagyu, which makes the trip even more worthwhile. Once you choose, the staff pulls the meat straight from the smoker, slices it fresh, and weighs it on the spot with impressive precision. Next comes the sides station, featuring options like loaded baked potatoes, pinto beans, potato casserole, green beans, mac & cheese, creamed corn, coleslaw, potato salad, and broccoli salad, followed by drinks and beverages. What We Ordered Sliced Brisket – Perfectly tender with a great balance between lean meat and rendered fat. A true Texas classic done right. Pork Ribs – Fully cooked, juicy, and easy to pull cleanly off the bone. Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage – Packed with melted cheese; the jalapeño flavor was a bit mild, but still satisfying. Green Beans & Broccoli Salad – Solid, well-balanced sides. Mac & Cheese – Very rich and creamy, perhaps a bit too heavy for some tastes. The Extras One of the highlights is the self-serve dessert station, featuring banana pudding, cream pudding, and vanilla ice cream. It almost feels like an AYCE dessert bar—perfect for anyone with a sweet tooth. They also provide unlimited sliced lemons near the fountain drinks, ideal for making fresh lemon water or iced tea. Atmosphere & Details The interior is filled with hand-painted artwork and messages from past customers — on walls, tables, chairs, lamps, and more. It creates a unique, personal atmosphere, making you feel like you’re becoming part of Hutchins’ long history. Even the restrooms are labeled “Cowboy” and “Cowgirl”, adding a fun Texas touch. Final Thoughts Great food, friendly and professional staff, and a lively, authentic Texas BBQ atmosphere make Hutchins BBQ well worth the drive. Just be prepared for long lines and possible beef rib shortages—coming early is the smartest move. I’ll definitely be back, especially for those legendary beef ribs. 🔥🍖
The food is really good, especially the grill sauce with the meat, love it. Got really nice service from Arlet!! She’s quite thoughtful and hardworking! I came here the first time and she helped out with the “service yourself” part, kindly introduced me the pickles, bread, desserts and helped to serve to my table! Appreciated the good service she brought to me!!
Just go eat here!!!!!! I’ve never heard my husband say the food is really good this many times and we’ve been to some really good and even some fancy restaurants in a lot of cities. I gave up eating beef about seven years ago and I literally had to taste the brisket because my husband kept raving. It was delicious.lol Even their turkey and chicken were so amazing. The turkey was a super hit with the kids. They had recommended it as apparently it is a staff fave as well. We went to a really good spot in Austin and I have to say Hutchins was much better. We got fries, potato salad, and coleslaw. Every single one of them was freaking delicious. The people there are so amazing. All the men at the smokehouse were so friendly and helped us well as it was our first time trying. They were sold out of their beef ribs by the time we got there. The Texas Twinkie is I must try as well. The peach cobbler was delicious. We are obviously gonna be going back and will bring our friends there as well.
Five stars does not feel like enough. From the moment I walked in, the air was rich with slow smoked promise. The brisket was tender enough to make you pause mid bite just to appreciate life a little. The ribs were seasoned perfectly, the sides were on point, and everything tasted like it had been cooked with patience and pride. But what truly made this visit unforgettable was our server, Arlet. She was incredibly kind, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. She helped me with recommendations, made sure I had everything I needed, and kept checking on me without ever being intrusive. You can tell when someone actually cares about your experience, and Arlet absolutely did. She made me feel valued, not just served. Great barbecue fills your stomach. Great service sticks with you. I will definitely be back and I will be asking for Arlet by name.
Everything you could hope for, the food, service, and facilities were all perfect for some top notch BBQ! The staff were very kind and polite, made recommendations for what to order, and everyone wore a smile. Sofia came by to check on us often along with friendly chatting. Highly recommend stopping by!
As a local food lover visiting from El Paso (El Chuco), this spot absolutely delivered. I’m a tough critic when it comes to BBQ, and this place exceeded expectations across the board. From the welcoming, attentive service to every bite of the ribs—and even the dessert—everything was on point. This is a true 10/10 with no complaints. The execution, temperature, flavor, and consistency were all exactly where they should be. Please never sacrifice quality or cut corners—what you’re doing works. Frisco truly doesn’t realize what they have here. The Texas Twinkies were incredible and are "big Back activity"—rich, indulgent, and perfectly executed. Hats off to the entire team, from the pit cook who sparked a fun conversation about Chico’s Tacos from El Paso to the friendly staff who offered to-go bags without hesitation. Thank you for an outstanding BBQ experience.
The BBQ here is magical. Everything from he beef ribs are unbelievable tender and the bark is so flavorful to the brisket. You cannot go wrong, even with any of the sides. The Texas Twinkies are fun and delicious. The free dessert bar is also killer with some great banana pudding and peach cobbler. There is also ice cream. Hutchins BBQ is up there in my top two along with Shed BBQ in MI.
The trick here is...know you'll walk out full. Don't overestimate at the by-weight counter. Having said that, so glad I went. The food was so good, so tasty, so filling. The staff genuinely appears to want to work here. They're having a good time with each other, and with us. The atmosphere is definitely one of fun. Save room for the peach cobbler, and...go ahead and add a little ice cream on top. I saw 3 sauces available original, spicy, and tangy. At our table, the spicy really wasn't. Maybe I missed one, but there's room for a fourth. Either a deep rich sweet or a mustard derivative.
2nd best!!! Did I get your attention? Look, it’s fabulous, really good…service is the best anywhere, the quality is very good, the sides are very good, the atmosphere is great…the only thing, Franklin BBQ makes the best brisket, hands down. Hutchins is fantastic, however it just doesn’t have the same flavoring. It’s very moist, very tender and well cooked, I just feel that Franklin has a better flavor and consistency. The brisket was excellent, the pork ribs were amazingly tender and flavorful as well, the turkey looked a little dry, but wasn’t, it was moist and very flavorful. The twinkies were fantastic…and again, their staff is the best…in a society focused on speed and lacking service, Hutchins has nailed that piece and really makes you feel welcome and appreciated. Hats off to Hutchins…they excel in service and the over all experience. Loved it! Will definitely return!!
Our first time visiting this establishment. OMG! First, the line was long but it moved very fast. Once we got in, the workers were very entertaining and polite. We went in the evening so of course there were no beef ribs or chicken. So we got brisket, turkey, a twinkie (jalapeño stuffed with brisket, cream cheese wrapped in bacon) and pork ribs along with potato salad, green beans and fried okra. All I can say is that it is all good. I’ll make sure to go a lot earlier for the beef ribs and chicken next time.
Great food and great service. We arrived around 7pm on a workday and the line was outside already. The line moved so fast for dine in so it only took around 15ish min to get to the order. All the staffs are super nice and friendly. We had 3 sides and 3 meats -huge portion! Everything tastes so fresh and flavorful. Definitely try the free desert! Peach cobbler with the ice cream is 10/10! Will go back again!
What a cool place! Meats were amazing! I didn't have anything that I didn't like. I highly recommend the Texas Twinkie. Two can be a meal. Definitely need multiple visits, as there are so many delicious choices! Go when you're HUNGRY! We went at dinner rush on a Thursday and waited in line for about 20min, so get there early.
Arrived in the evening and there was a line that ran out the front door. The line was moving at slow but steady pace. As we were waiting free sausage samples were available and they were super tasty. This definitely made the wait more enjoyable. Once in we ordered sliced brisket, sausage, Texas Twinkie. Sides included broccoli salad, Mac&cheese, cream corn, and fried okra. The brisket was cooked perfectly, had a smoky flavor, and was tender. The sausage was deliciously spicy and each bite was surprisingly super tasty. What was super awesome was the Texas Twinkie. All the sides also delivered in flavor and quality. The environment was of a typical bbq place but well organized. All the staff were helpful and friendly. Our experience here was excellent and definitely highly recommended.
The best smoked BBQ on the planet. The brisket is moist and seasoned to perfection. The pork ribs have just the right amount of smoke and pull. Pro tip ask for a bit of glaze for the ribs. The sides are house made and complement the meat in seasoning. My favorites are the mac& cheese and the broccoli salad (don’t knock it until you try it) I don’t eat beans but I’m told the brisket beans are fantastic. If you want to spend a bit more, the beef ribs are the best thing on the menu. Their half chicken is always juicy and full of flavor if you don’t want red meat. Second pro tip, save room for the peach cobbler and banana pudding.
This is, without a doubt, the finest barbecue I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. As a visitor from Peoria, AZ, I was absolutely delighted with my lunch experience. The sandwich, featuring Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage and lean Brisket, was exceptional. The accompanying sides were incredibly delicious, and to top it all off, each meal includes both Peach Cobbler and Banana Pudding! I would like to extend a special thank you to Chris for his wonderful hospitality and kindness towards a hungry traveler. I highly recommend that you do not miss the opportunity to visit this establishment.
This place was amazing. I really loved the food. It is a little pricey and it adds up pretty quick, but it was totally worth it. Everything we had was great. I loved that they include dessert to finish things off. The peach cobbler was incredible. My favorites were the fatty part of the brisket and the jalapeño sausage. The creamy corn dish was also very good. I’d definitely come back the next time I’m in the area.
Hutchins BBQ serves fantastic BBQ. Period. The staff are super friendly, the atmosphere is fun and very Texas, and the food is exceptionally good. We visited after the lunch hour on a weekday. The restaurant was still moderately busy. We ordered the pulled pork, Jalapeño cheese sausage, and brisket. We also ordered okra, beans, and potato salad sides. The meats were exquisite. Highly recommend all, especially the Jalapeño cheese sausage. It is not too hot. A nice touch is the free dessert; ice cream, peach cobbler, and banana pudding. I confess I had two helpings of banana pudding. So good! I highly recommend a visit to Hutchins!
It is really tough to put into words this experience. You pull up and the smokers are smoking and the line is starting to form. You get inside and find the most wonderful team and Amazing food. I forgot. We got great samples in like. 3 different sausages to try. Once inside we got the party package for our party of six. The brisket…omg. The Texas twinkee was seriously delicious. The turkey. The coleslaw. All truly amazing. Highly recommend this spot if you are in Frisco area.
This is my 7th time eating at this particular Hitchinson BBQ and I have to say this was the best dine-in experience i have had! The food is always cooked to perfection but this experience was special because of the outstanding service we received from Waitress Tsion!!!! Tsion was attentive,, couteous, helpful, and she went above and beyond to make our dinner incredibly enjoyable!!! Tsion is definitely management material!!! We will come back and bring more friends!!!
The beef rib was fantastic. It is the best I ever had. We went to Terry Black's the day before and Hutchins beef rib blew it out of the water. It was moist, tender, and juicy. It was really "ono" (delicious). We also had the burnt ends and jalapeño sausage. The sides we had were mac and cheese and green beans. I liked those too. They were all good. I would go back there to dine if I'm ever back in Dallas. I would highly recommend it.
I was taken by a local who claimed it was quite good. He was wrong. It was beyond compare. I thought I had had barbecue, but I was mistaken. This wonderful place has food fit for God. I enjoyed the rapidity of order taking, moving briskly toward getting to the eating, the very pleasant and helpful staff, and the overall atmosphere of confusion yet calm. My only complaint was that there were two different music systems playing. I highly recommend Hutchins to all.
I've had BBQ from all over Texas and this is the best! Great lunch with my family for my 41st birthday! Arlet made sure we had everything we needed! Every interaction with the staff was friendly and welcoming! The Twinkies, pork ribs, Mac and cheese and banana pudding were my favorite!
I’ve waited 13 years to try this place and MY GOD! There is NOOOOO better bbq in ALL of Texas. The food was out of this world but the service was 100 times better! Chris and the whole line treated me and my wife like royalty. I felt like PRESCOTT from the Dallas cowboys. They made sure we TRIED everything on the menu and did NOT rush us to get to next person in line. I looked at my ticket and it was priceless. They could’ve charged me $1k and I would’ve still tipped 20% I’m not making this up! Chris had to be a Hutchins himself! The way he represented that legacy and establishment was classy. The Hutchins know what they are doing and it’s not just making money it’s giving customers the best experience that starts with a Texas Twinkie! Ai could never right a review like this. This is from a real satisfied human after visiting Hutchins!
Food was delicious and portions are great! I went alone and pigged out.. came out to $56 bucks. I got brisket, cheddar sausage, and Texas Twinkie. That Texas Twinkie was so delicious. Brisket was veryyyyyy dry for me. All of the sides were good too… they let you do halfsies per tray. Save room for the dessert bar. Sweet tea was delicious as well!!
Food is really good! It's busy so tables can be hard to find. Also, lines are long and people ahead of you might only look like a party of 2 until an additional 6 show up and get in line with them! This happened several times so we didn't move very fast. I guess you can't blame the restaurant for rude patrons. The staff was friendly and I like the food better than Terry Blacks.
The chicken was over powered with rub which made it too salty and peppery. The chicken was juicy but the flavor was horrible. The sausage was bad and we threw it away. The stuffed bacon wrapped jalapeño would have been better warm and not cold. The beans were not pinto beans the were baked beans with brisket. If you like baked beans then you will love it for me it was too sweet. The beef rib was okay but when I told the guy behind the counter serving us that this was our first time he was very polite and told us that there beef rib is better then Black, Coopers and Truth BBQ.. My friend you are so wrong on that one by a mile there meats have amazing flavor and none of them have over powered spices on them. Now the banana pudding is off the hook good. Also the have peach cobbler and ice cream which is free for in house dining. I wish they could have had some blackberry cobbler but it’s okay. The atmosphere is amazing and I wish they had coke products and not Pepsi. I don’t think I will come back because that was the worst $145 I have ever spent but not as bad as Teddy’s BBQ in Weslaco Texas.
