Came hungry and was very pleased. It was very busy and a little bit of a wait. Not pictured are the garlic noodles which were very good. We got the sauce where it's 3 sauces mixed together and it was great. Service was very fast
This was our first time dining at Bag 'O Crab restaurant. I love eating crabs and we recently saw this chain restaurant popping up in cities near us. The picture that shows a robot serving the customers sounds cool. My husband and I decided that we have to try it out. The decor inside was okay. It was not bad, just simple which is fine by us as long as the food was good. We ended up ordering combo 2 and an extra side order of garlic noodle to share. The garlic noodle was good but we ended up using the noodle to soak up the juice of the bag. It was perfect. For the combo we ordered medium level atomic sauce which is a combination of original Cajun, garlic sauce and lemon pepper. I can definitely go up in spice level but medium was too spicy for my husband. Combo 2 bag came with two clusters of crab legs, 3/4 lb of headless shrimp, 2 half ears of corn, 4 small slices of sausage and 2 small red potatoes. The robot delivered the food to us but our waiter put the dishes onto our table. It was a cool experience but it was a bit weird. All in all, the food was delicious and we will definitely go back and dine there again.
My friend was craving this place, so I decided to join along and see why. Now I understand. We were greeted right away and seated without much of a wait. I ordered Combo #2, which came with crab, potatoes, corn cobs, sausages, and shrimp (with the option of head-on or no head). I really liked how they let you choose your spice level and they have variety of different sauce. They prepared for us before the food arrive by giving us a bucket, gloves, wipes, and a bib, plus tools to eat the food with. Hope i didnt forget anything else. Anyways our food came out quickly, and the coolest part is that a robot delivered it to our table with the assistance of the friendly waitress! Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. My friend and I left very pleased and happy. I’d definitely come back again! ❤️
Y’all the food was so good here. The sauce was on point and the fries were so yummy! The service was also amazing. I would definitely go back. If there is a wait, you can check in online. Only thing I will mention is this street has a lot of prostitution on the corners so beware.
Yummy and unique. A little pricey but we went at happy hour and saved a ton!
My family and I decided to check out Bag-o-Crab on a Saturday afternoon, just after opening. We were promptly greeted and seated, although the booth was a tad snug for my dad bod—thankfully, the wife and kids seemed quite comfortable. We dove into our feast, starting with six fresh oysters served with lemon, cocktail sauce, and hot sauce. They were small to medium-sized, served on the half shell, and absolutely delightful. For our main courses, I opted for the snow crab boil with shrimp, while my wife went for the Lobster boil, which also included shrimp, crawdads, and clams. Both dishes were smothered in a heavenly garlic butter sauce, with just the right amount of heat. Every bite tasted as if it had just been plucked from the ocean; the seafood was impeccably fresh. Our kids happily shared a plate of garlic noodles and a side of steamed rice. The noodles were an instant hit—flavorful and satisfying, a true standout. Our waitress was incredibly attentive, ensuring our dining experience was nothing short of fantastic. In conclusion, Bag-o-Crab delivered a top-notch seafood experience. Fresh, flavorful dishes, attentive service, and a cozy atmosphere made for a memorable family outing. Don't miss out on those garlic noodles—they're a game-changer!
They have really good crab. The service is quick and welcoming. They have a robot bring your food which is super cool. It will bring you some ice cream and sing "happy birthday" if you go on your birthday. Highly recommend
Wow where do I even start?! The service was amazing, we were sat immediately and our order was taken for drinks and food shortly after. The combo was delicious, we got the Cajun sauce and it was to die for! The garlic noodles were filling and the fries had great seasoning. I loved the potatoes, sausage, and egg that came in the combo. The service was great! Our server had just started and she was so sweet and got everything out in a timely manor. The robot was a little freaky, but funny too! Overall great experience and we will be back!
Everything about this place was good. There was a wait, but 30 minutes on a Saturday was to be expected. The service was friendly. The atmosphere was cozy and informal. And the food was great, but be ready to part with some bucks. 🫢
Service and staff were exceptional along with the super tasty food! The wait was not long when we went (party of 2), and the food came out faster than expected. Amazing experience overall! Highly recommend the king crab legs. 🦀 (We ordered the combo #4 with lobster and had king crab legs added which could easily feed 3-4 hungry people).
The seafood boil we got was delicious. We got the Louisiana mild. We also got the butter spaghetti. It was very good when dipped into the Louisiana mild sauce definitely recommend it.
My colleague said it was the best Cajun seafood he had ever had. We ordered a Dungeness crab combo as our entrée. I didn’t have high expectations for the quality, but the seafood was good and meaty. We planned to eat lightly for dinner, so it was enough for two small eaters. If you want to feel full from seafood, I recommend ordering a larger portion. The staff were nice, and I didn’t have any issues using this restaurant.
Tasty Cajun time! Don’t arrive too hungry to this place, because you need to plan to wait an hour after you check in. We arrive at 4:30 on a Saturday and we were sat at 5:30. Once you are seated service is prompt and your food quickly arrives, in a robot, of course! We each ordered the combo option so we could take some home. My leftovers made a whole second meal. We were very pleased with the experience. The prices were reasonable for what you get. I will get this food again. I might do a to-go order next time to skip the wait, but you need to experience the robot server at least once :)
Fun times! I'm from the Chesapeake region, and although this is a crab boil (we like em steamed), it's pretty good!
Food was amazing, service was awesome, food came out very quickly and very delicious. Plus they have service robots that bring your food which I thought was super cool.
Fast service, great menu selections. Price is a bit high but it’s probably accurate for market rate on certain seafood items. Got Combo B in garlic butter, gobbled it down so fast I forgot to take a picture!
As a southerner this restaurant made me go crazy. The food was soooo good it was seasoned and cooked perfectly as well as presented. The service was so amazing, when the waitress took our orders she was so helpful and was definitely the kind of person to keep it real not only was ahe amazing THE MUSIC WAS TOO. So while we were waiting for food we had bomb music to listen to too, and the food came QUICK like frfr it was like we had just ordered and boom it was right there. 10/10 would definitely recommend for anyone who loves seafood and I'd definitely recommend this for my southern folks.
We did the king Crab combo with an extra half pound of crawfish and a few extra veggies, medium Louisiana flavor. It was super delicious and enough to feed 4 people. We also ordered a Maine Lobster roll. This was good but not worth the price tag, in my opinion. I'll just stick with the crab bag. Will definitely go back. I would like to try them po boys. The bag was just enough heat to numb your lips but you still can use them taste buds.
Great portions and a tasty meal. Seemed crowded but there was more than enough space and quick service
Second time in this place and thinking of coming back at any time, The flavor is tasty, The staff is very friendly, the price is very reasonable, and the only downside is the waiting time to get in, But of course, makes sense since there are so many customers wanting to dine in increasing the time to be served, but overall 5 stars because they earned!!!
I took my partner there for her birthday, she loves seafood and while I am not a seafood eater myself it was worth every penny to see how much she enjoyed it! The prices are really reasonable for the quality of food and the staff was very friendly and welcoming even though they were absolutely slammed with customers. Would absolutely return
The customer service was amazing, the food was delicious and the place had an overall clean and homey vibe. Will 100% visit in the future.
In just about every place I have lived, there has popped up one of these Cajun seafood restaurants. Portland finally has joined the club and Bag O' Crab is just wonderful. The place is in a nondescript area on NE 82nd Avenue. The building is a stand alone, but the parking is very tight and some parking is available in the lot next door on weekend. We entered the building and there was a touch sign in screen for joining the waitlist. We gave the info and my phone buzzed indicating we were on the list. We waited about 20 minutes for a table at around 3 PM on a Saturday. The wait was a bit longer because we requested a table. After being seated, we were taken care of by our server Nikki who was bright, bubbly, and friendly. We placed our drink order and looked over the menu. Most of it focused on the Cajun bags of seafood. My husband went for the Combo #1 and he chose the shrimp and mussels with the Atomic sauce (a combo of garlic, Cajun, and lemon pepper) with a bit of spice. I did the same but chose two servings of shrimp with the same sauce and heat level. I also ordered some garlic bread for mopping up the sauce and a glass of Hefeweizen. It wasn't long before our food arrived. On a metal sheet tray came our bag of seafood. We had bibs and gloves at our table, but the gloves were a nuisance, so we just used lots of napkins and little pre-packaged wet cloths. The seafood was excellent. The peel and eat shrimp were excellent. There was also some corn cobs, slices of sausage, and boiled red potatoes in the mix. All were good, but I think they should have brined the potatoes as they had no seasoning and the sauce did not permeate the skins. But, everything was delicious. My other half said his was good too but as his seafood cooled, the mussels became a bit tough. He did like the addition of the hard boiled eggs he added as an extra side. As for the spice level, I am glad we to "just a little" because that was plenty spicy. I can't even imagine what the top level of spice would be. The Hefeweizen was very good and instantly cooled our mouths from the heat. The garlic toast was nothing special, but did its job in mopping up the sauce. So good. Our bill came to about $80 for two for two sodas, a beer, two seafood combos, two hard boiled eggs, and a side of garlic toast. I ended up with about 1.5 lbs of shrimp in my bag. Service was wonderful and we adored Nikki. We have plans to go back soon. It was such a fun experience. Note: as we were leaving at about 5 PM, the waitlist was very long and there lobby area was packed with people. So, if you don't want to wait, make sure you go off hours.
Fun experience and tasty food. Nothing fancy, but great for families and groups of friends. One "combo" feeds two people unless they are really big eaters.
The good is was seasoned just right delicious buttery goodness!!! If you like Juicy Crab in Atlanta you will enjoy Bag O' Crab. It was so good we went back two days later.
Great food!! The fries are delicious! The combo 2 was enough for my gf and I with a side of rice and lemon pepper fries. Highly recommend! Place can definitely get packed, but you can reserve your spot on the yelp app which very helpful to minimize wait times! Only down side is parking is tough to find with the small parking lot.
The BEST crab boil around! The cajun is so yummy and flavorful, and not at all oily like other restaurants. I’ve dined in, taken out, and have had Bag O Crab delivered about a dozen times and it’s always delicious. My only *small* gripe is that my drinks have been forgotten multiple times on different orders. But it’s still my favorite place to eat!
This place was highly recommended to me, I'm so glad I finally got to try it!! I got the Combo #2 (no sausage) with lemon pepper & medium heat. My date got the Combo #2 with Louisian flavor & medium heat, & both of them were both so flavorful & delicious!! We went during the late afternoon, so luckily the wait wasn't that bad. I recommend going as early as possible because it gets pretty crowded & the parking lot is kinda limited.
We were amazed with the whole experience. We ordered the combo #4 with mild Atomic source, the spiciness was just perfect for us and the lobster was so fresh and tender, and shrimp, sausage, all other thing come with were so tasty. The servers were so friendly. The robot food delivery was another fun part. I told the staff that we found out the Bag O Crab seafood restaurant via TikTok and we love seafood, so we came to try it. We were completely satisfied with everything . We will definitely come back soon.
We took my mom to Bag O'Crab for her birthday I was able to reserve a table for 11 with no problem. Service was good and the food was delicious! Everyone in our party had a great time and the robot even sang happy birthday to her and brought her free ice cream. Definitely would recommend
Wow! Amazing service at the bar! We have been here twice since they have opened and it’s been amazing! Bartender Josh has been super friendly and makes such delicious drinks! The other servers working in the bar also are very nice and friendly. This is where me and my husband will be coming to enjoy a few delicious drinks and some yummy food! Highly recommend!
Are you kidding!? This is the best place I've ever eaten at, omg I want this for every meal.. I've never had a boil before so I was scared it would be too spicy for me but I got to pick no spice.. this was amazing. Everything was so good I am absolutely stuffed, yes it's pricey but it's 100% worth it. Eat here! Also the workers are amazing and so nice! I had a better photo but it won't let me show it.
I went there today on my birthday. It was my first time having a boil. It was great!! Everyone there was excellent. I went at 4:30. Got seated right away and in about 20 minutes my dinner was there. The waitress brought me another drink even without me asking for it I will definitely go back. I had combo 1 with crawfish and shrimp with atomic sauce. Thank you for a wonderful experience. I got extra order to take home
Servers were very polite and friendly. Food was delicious. We had steamed shellfish, sausage, corns and potatoes served family style.
Oh boy! This is such a pleasant surprise for seafood lovers like my family and I. Cajun taste of seashells, shrimps, crabs, and lobster 🦞. What could be better? Well, I am impressed that they even provided us with bibs to prevent your clothes from getting stain, as well as plastic gloves that may ruin your beautiful manicured fingers. No regret! Highly recommended you to try this seafood place. I'll be coming back in no time. Reasonable pricing too. Guess what? They even have a robotic waitress who help serve your food. Overall, great experience here.
I went to this place 3 times to make sure things are consistently the way they are before I want to write this review. Each time I went I've ordered different Combo and items also different sauces to get the full experience. I can say this place is good and I recommend it to anyone who wants to experience cajun style seafood and flavors. I really like how fresh the seafood is, especially the crab, the clam, the shrimp and the lobster. Their salad is quite fresh and comes in large portions that you can actually share with another person. The staff are mostly younger adults but seem to be well trained to treat customers nicely, the robot waitress is quite refreshing to see as well. For the sauce I think the standard garlic butter is what most non-adventurous diners will go for, but for me I enjoy the "atomic" sauce with mild to medium spicy level to bring a little extra kick to the experience. Overall it's a fun place to bring your family and kids for a weekend night of fun dining.
I missed going here during the initial hype wave on this place, but coming now, I totally get it! It’s delicious, fun, interactive and overall just a really great time! The seafood is uniformly high quality and well cooked, served in fantastic, spicy sauces. The sides are great, especially the garlic noodles and the lemon pepper fries. It is busy, but service was fast, efficient and friendly. The robots are a cool and unique thing too; it’s cute to see them try to navigate the dining room. During my visit, it seemed like almost everyone in the room was enjoying getting up to their elbows in thick red sauce. That’s why you come here- lean in and embrace the mess and you will not be disappointed.
Experience/Environment: Came when it opened so it wasn’t packed yet. Even if it did pack up, there is plenty of seating. Only thing is, that early, there was only one waitress and you may wait a bit. There’s a pretty mural in the waiting area you can get lost in. Also, restaurant is right off the bus line so it was easy to get to. Price: Similar to other crab boils but super worth it. Food: Delicious. Seasoning was delicious. I got the house sauce. Ate every last bit. Service: Adequate. One waitress but I really didn’t need anything. NTT [[Next Time Try]]: Likely the blue crab. I love blue crab but I didn’t want to commit to the time it would’ve taken to eat it lol. Everything I had was super bomb so I might even run that back. Thank me later ;) Smile, eat, hydrate. Live honest and don’t settle. Hope to see you out there! xo
A delightful place to bring the fam for a messy, flavor filled seafood feast. We ate a late 3pm lunch on a Saturday and there was no wait, tho the parking lot seemed full. We ordered the #3 with king crab, extra potatoes and corn and a pound of clams. We flavored the bag with garlic butter on the little spicy spice level. We also ordered a side of fries and a cup of chowder. Three hearty appetites finished this amount of food with a perfect level of contentment. From what we now understand, the sides are basically offered there as sauce delivery device options. Fries dipped in sauce = omg wow. On our way out we saw a table spooning the sauce over an order of noodles. Garlic bread and even the fried food like fish and chips or chicken strips would be delicious dipped as well. The sauce is SO GOOD. We really enjoyed our meal. I also feel like it's a bargain for the amount of quality food served with unique flavors within a fun atmosphere. We will return!!
First time coming here and I loved it they where full and no parking we almost didn’t get to try it out due to that they where full and 1 hour from closing luckily we were able to be seated at the bar area and the staff was supper friendly we where never rushed or anything we in joyed our meal and we look forward to coming back soon. Highly recommended but please make a reservations before coming in that way they can get you in and you don’t have to wait or back again. Other then that I loved it 10/10
Ordered Crab Boil with Corn and Potatoes ( mild spice with garlic seasoning)-Very Delicious! Love the To-Go Bags included utensils and the Server offered extra wipes:). Only downside was it didn’t have a crab cracker but may be an oversight on my part. Very friendly staff! I will order from again!
Some friends and I decided to stop by here around 4:30pm on a Saturday and saw a pretty large gathering of people waiting to be seated. We signed up on the waitlist and only had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated in the 21+ bar area. Once settled, we ordered out a bag of crab (mild atomic sauce with crab, lobster, clams, sausage, corn, shrimp with head on, and crawfish), garlic bread, and garlic fries. One thing to note if you don’t receive a warning like we (luckily) did, their spiciness levels are a little higher than other crab boil locations - while we initially were going to order Medium for spice level, we were told that was equivalent to a jalapeños pepper with seeds, so we dropped down to mild level and were still surprised at the spiciness. It was truly the perfect spice level for us and I am glad we received the warning about the spiciness before fully placing our order. If you are an alcohol drinker, they do offer beers (some on tap and some bottles) to drink, but no mixed beverages. The service was great and we were checked on many times to ensure everything was going well. I loved how communicative the waitress was about the menu (especially the previously mentioned spice level). I HIGHLY recommend ordering bread and/or fries to dip into the leftover sauce/juices that are in the bag. This was a part of the meal that I am glad I was able to experience. This one bag of food and the 2 sides was more than enough to fully fill up 3 people with big appetites. Definitely recommend checking out if you are in the mood for seafood! Don’t let the wait or lack of parking deter you - it is worth it!
Delicious crab/ lobster boil. The garlic noodles are so so delicious! We got the combo 4 with Lobster. The crawdads were okay, but I wish there were more clams. I LOVED all the garlic and even though I showered I was giving off a garlic smell. So funny. I wish the server robot worked, my daughter really wanted to see her move around, but the cat robot that gave you the bags worked. It seemed a little simple around the tables. I think that is the only thing they could improve. The staff was very nice.
Awesome birthday meal! We went here to celebrate and it was perfect! We got a big seafood boil to share. It also had potatoes, and corn! We ordered it atomic heat but mild level, and it was the right level for the three of us. I had a birthday treat I made for my friend, and they put a candle in, and had the robot bring it out, and sing happy birthday.
It was fantastic! Went on a Saturday and it was quite busy. Join the live waiting list cause it's easier and faster. Definitely worth the hour wait. Once we were seated the food service was fast, hot, and delicious. Side note there was very loud mix of hip hop music playing. Just a note for those who may not particularly like loud atmosphere.
Stumbled upon this place by accident. Been going here ever since. The employees even know me by name! Been in Portland for a year and this is literally the only place I've been where the customer service was satisfying! Love happy hour. Cheap seafood! Definitely my to spot
We thoroughly enjoyed our takeout from from Bag O’ Crab. The hostess Lavina was wonderful, sweet, funny and she made sure we had everything we needed. Thank you Lavina The lobster was great. The mussels and shrimp were good as well. A little too saucy but very tasty. Overall a great experience and will definitely stop in next time we’re in Portland.
The prices are great! Super great! The food is amazing! You get it quick and it’s delicious! This is huge for me and did I say that the prices are amazing? I come here often and I encourage others to come as well. I always tell anyone that wants seafood to come here. Some cons: I don’t care for the space in the restaurant, not enough room to scoot your chairs, the table space/elbow room when eating out of a large messy plate is pretty tight, and parking on the weekend when I have gone super sucks. We have left a few times and decided not to go in because we circled the parking lot more than 10 times. On parties more than 6 they automatically add a set tip and I don’t care for that, being that a robot brings you your food and drinks. For your birthday they will give you a small mini cup of ice cream… kinda cool but not so much.
Muy Rico y bueno para la familia ✨🤲🏼🤍
Algo bien
Todo bien
We ordered a combo set that included lobster tail, head-on shrimp, potatoes, and corn, with added sausage, all served in Cajun sauce at a medium spice level. The food was delicious, flavorful, and well-cooked. The service was also very good—friendly and attentive. Overall, it was a great dining experience.
The food was good. Nothing out of this world. It's a good place if you're around there and want some food. Great flavor. Don't fall into the hype with the robot thing. It was cool to see. They still have a server following it to hand you your food. Our server was great (not the robot). Pricing and value is good I might go back if i was around
It was my first time coming to Bag o Crab and I was greeted nicely. With a full house, my family of 5 was still able to be seated right away which was awesome. My server was very kind, had the patience it required to answer every question us new commers had and she was on top of every request. The food came out quicker then I expected, which was awesome. The food was very flavorful and finger licking good. I will definitely be a returning customer.
The staff and the robot that deliver the food are all good. The quantity of food and balanced seasonings and spices are perfect. Very delicious! We ordered the Combo#4 with Dungeness Crab and an add-on of lobster tail, in their atomic sauce. We also had their garlic noodles and oysters. They provide wet wipes, bibs, gloves, shell crackers, and seafood scissors. Their attention to the customer dining experience is top notch! Definitely worth it.
🦀: Food is Delicious! 👩🏻🍳: Service was good. 🏮: Atmosphere is ok. They have s ginormous TV 😆😎
Finally got around to trying this place out. It was pretty good, but not stellar in my books. Problems... My to-go order got missed and they forgot an extra item that I paid for. Not too long ago I spent several years living around LA, went to a few crab boil places, and once again I will say LA leaves the Portland food scene in the dust. Not sure what it is, but Portland just can never seem to get it right... sushi, Korean BBQ, Chinese, Ethiopian, Mexican and now crab boils! It wasn't terrible, but I've had better. I will say after looking at all the other crab boil places around the metro area, Bag O Crab has the best pricing and selection for what you get. I ordered Combo #2 $47.95 because Snow Crab blows Dungeness out of the water without being as spendy as King crab. I opted for mild spice with lemon pepper garlic butter seasoning + 6 extra sausage $2.95 + 3 extra potato $1.50 + side of steamed rice $2.00. I placed the order online through my phone and received a confirmation email a minute later. I get to the place 40 minutes later and the order hasn't even been filled. Maybe not entirely their fault, but I'm told the system never alerted them of my order even though it was in the system. So I ordered again for take home and waited, it took about 10 minutes, no biggie. Everything is put into a nice heavy duty sturdy reusable togo bag. Get home, unpack the goods, everything looks and smells fantastic. Bag O crab is double bagged to prevent leaking, no problem, also napkins, plastic bib and gloves. Side or rice is there, I dump the bag into a large tray. 2 Snow crab legs are good size, plenty of shrimp (no head as requested), 2 corn, extra sausage, but only two potato pieces. They forgot the extra 3 potatoes. I ordered them because I wasn't sure if potato "pieces" meant wedges? And two didn't sound like much. They are actually whole red baby new potatoes, decent size. Bummer, I still would have liked the extra three new potatoes I paid for. Everything was cooked well, 2 potatoes were soft but firm, corn was done (probably got a little soggy, but considering it took me 45 minutes to get home that's to be expected), shrimp and sausage were nicely cooked and not dry or chewy, good flavor. Aside from the missing potatoes and late order, where this place really sunk compared to LA was with the sauce and seasoning ratios. In LA when you order mild with lemon pepper garlic butter your bag is mostly lemon pepper garlic butter versus drenched in cajun seasonings, which makes for a completely rich taste without a lot of heat. In Portland, even though I requested mild, there was still a ton of creole cajun seasoning sauce mixed with the garlic butter. It wasn't terribly spicy, but I'm sure it'd be too spicy for many people. In all reality they could have used about 80% less creole seasoning and this order flavor profile would have been perfect and exactly what I was looking for. I may try again and specifically request less cajun creole. Also didn't see the option to add clams or mussels as an extra even though they are listed in certain combos, something I'd be willing to pay for, guess I'll have to ask. Looking at pictures of other cajun creole crab places around town the heavy cajun seasoning looks to be a similar story and not everyone offers the lemon pepper butter option, which is why I was willing to drive almost an hour in traffic to get a Bag O Crab! 🦀 Other notes: Parking lot is small, but the lot next door is currently empty, imagine this will be a problem if something opens up there. Two disabled spots and the establishment is disabled friendly. Indoor waiting area in entry hall and in main room by big screen. Mens bathroom was roomy, well kept and clean. Place gets busy, they opened at 3 PM and by 3:45 PM on a Wednesday afternoon it was full, no line yet, but getting there. Will try again...
It was good but they’re inconsistent. My sister was there right before me and they gave so much sauce. Mine was dry so I asked for a little bit of extra sauce and they charged me $8 for a small cup of it. I wish the waitress would’ve let me know it was going to be that much. I would’ve understood $3-$4, but $8 for a scoop of sauce with a lime in it? Ridiculous. I’d come back, but they def need to put more sauce if they’re charging as much as they already are. I shouldn’t have had to pay for my meal to be made the way it was supposed to. It also took over 15 mins for the extra sauce to come out so all my food was cold. I’ll give them another try though!
That Louisiana sauce was amazing, I could literally drink it. Food came out fairly quick—no complaints. Customer service was chill and I always had a drink in hand. Definitely would come back. By far the best tasting seafood boil I had in PDX. The only thing that would make this experience better would be if they offered a dipping sauce—like: fish sauce, garlic, sugar and lime. That would set it off.
First time at bag o crabs. We ordered: garlic noodles (it was highly recommended), and it was simple but yummy. Also ordered combo 4 with Dungeness crab, head on shrimps with original Cajun lemon pepper at mild spice. It was very flavorful, enough for 2-3 people to share. Also tried the marine style lobster roll (comes with French fries), this was very good, big portion and the bread slice was a soft garlic bread, made it even better. Highly recommending checking in on yelp before you go because they are always busy and the wait can be 30-45min. I went on a Sunday at 2:30pm and there was a long line. Only complaint is they need better gloves and wet wipes.
Excellent seafood boils! You've got to get the atomic seasoning. We got the high end of mild, borderline medium and it was perfect to not overpower the tender crab and succulent shrimp. Great price for what you get. You definitely come here for the food. The service is ok; our server was nice but not attentive. The robots just carry the food, not interactive like at some restaurants. Use the bibs, gloves and wipes ...and dig in here!!!
Eating crustaceans is tradition when I get together with one of my friends and this time we were in her home town and she took me to bag o crab. I guess it used to be an old Mexican restaurant because it has that vibe. Pretty no frills but overall very affordable. There is a variety of sauces that you can choose from and combos seem to have the best value. The style is more Asian style so the heat scale is legit, watch out. I chose combo #2 because I prefer snow crab 🦀 and got heads off on the shrimp to make it easier to eat. I got Cajun spice with mild level heat. Our food arrived quickly and was served by a hilarious robot cat server. Everything arrives in a bag and is self contained in a tray. You are provided with gloves, wetnaps and of course the customary bib. On first sample, the food was wayyy spicier than I thought. I love spicy but it doesn't always love me. I ordered the mild but my face was on fire. My friend who had eaten there before said she thought it was not the right spice level. I flagged the server and she took it away to give it a rinse. I was a little hesitant but it was alright in the end. Everything was cooked great except for the corn, which was very overcooked and practically mush. Out of season, the crab was clearly frozen but overall good quality and I think the value is worth it. Would def reccommend. Get here early though because I hear the lineups can be nuts.
Its a very popular spot so if you don't want to wait in line, I would advice you to make a reservation. They have a yelp profile where you can sign up for the waiting list. In a busy night it can take up to an hour for you to get a table. Once you are in your table, the food comes right away. We bought the combo 4 for my wife and I and it was more then enough for the both of us. I would say that combo feeds 3 people. I will definitely be returning.
Definitely worth your time. Everything was great. Their medium spicy is a mellow medium btw. Their sausage is delicious. The crab was great. Their Short Ribs were yummy. The fries were crispy. No complaints at all. Looking forward to trying their other flavors! The staff was great and very helpful and friendly.
The happy hour menu is great, available on weekdays until 5:30 PM for dine-in only. I ordered Combo B, which was delicious but slightly lacked salt and lemon. The friendly waiter quickly provided what I needed. Although I requested mild, it turned out to be medium, but I still enjoyed it. The place was clean and had a nice ambiance. Overall, a good experience!
The place was clean, service was good and food was hot. We ordered combo #3 +mussels +clams in the atomic seasoning. It needed more butter and salt. The seasonings were laid on thick but I oddly didn't taste much. I think if there was more butter, it would be tastier and less of a thick paste. I also think my clams were a little undercooked, I couldn't get over the texture. The space itself was kind of lacking. It felt like a make-shift restaurant, don't really know how to explain it. Also, the robot thing is kinda funny because a staff member is following the robot around. Doesn't that defeat the purpose?
Me encantó el servicio, les recomiendo reservar y así no hacen fila por tanto tiempo, el robotin me encanta y la comida es exquisita.. altamente recomendable.
I was really really hoping to like the food here. I loved the Bag o Crab in Fairfield CA and expected the same portion size, quality of seafood and perfect balance of buttery liquid to spice ratio. What I received, was legit the consistency and appearance of chopped garlic and thickened Old Bay paste. I am a stickler when it comes to flavor and I was let down, sadly, but at least the presentation was pleasing to the eye. I rated my experience 3/5 because despite the food being disappointing, the staff was very nice, helpful and attentive.
The aroma of food when we entered the restaurant brought in a wave of nostalgia from my trip to Louisiana. We got the snow crab with Louisiana seasoning which was amazing😍 we also got the Dungeonous crab with Cajun seasoning which was not that great. The seasoning has some kinda flour …may be all purpose flour or corn starch ? that made it taste bad…also the sauce thickened in minutes after I emptied the bag(image attached). Live crab when cooked tastes fresh but this Dungeonous didn’t taste like it. The have a lot of seating and service was quick. Our server was great.
I ate here with family last night and got food poisoning. I barely ate anything so I am not sure how this happened. The bags barely had sauce and I was told it would be $8 to get a side of sauce. I usually pour the sauce over rice, but there was none to pour. The rice was overcooked, so it needed sauce or something to be edible. Due to the lack of sauce nothing had flavor. Not sure how long we were there, but was told we had to leave because there was a waitlist, whole middle was empty as was the bar area and first 4 tables to the right. As we continued the convo in the parking lot there were a bunch of cars looking for parking l, so possibly true, but have never had this experience with the food or asked to leave from the one in Beaverton.
My better half got a crab/shrimp combo and enjoyed it although the corn was an overcooked oil bomb. Seafood boil is not my thing so I got sweet potato fries and wings. They cover their sweet potato fries in sugar…..what is that about? I’m not a fan. The staff was really nice and the delivery robot is adorable. The robot singing happy birthday is fantastic.
I was really disappointed in the food. They have a lot of options for flavoring, but all it is is dry seasoning, not boiled in spicier water. I went with the spicier option and only got seafood with a mountain of seasoning on the shells that didn't penetration to the seafood. It's not Cajun. It was a busy weekend and maybe the food suffered as a result. My wife had a better experience on a weekday afternoon. For the price, I expected much better food. It was bland, the oysters and mussels were awful, crab was good. We literally took home and eventually thrashed several hundreds of dollars worth of food (party of 6). The service was good and they had a fun robot moving around the dining area.
Meh! The sauce is so overpowering (we got Louisiana sauce) that the taste of the seafood is obliterated. It’s extremely hard to crack the crab swimming in slippery buttery sauce. In retrospect ordering the bag steamed and requesting sauce on the side would perhaps been tastier and easier to eat. The value for the money was poor. Photo is the aftermath. Yuck!
Mediocre at best. Food is only okay. Sauces aren’t complex and heat is lacking. Service is all kids, which isn’t the problem, but it just feels hectic and impersonal. Also a LOT of single use plastic waste happening here and it’s gross. All fountain drinks/water come out in plastic to-go cups. Then they don’t refill the cups, just bring another cup. So you order a fountain drink and 3 refills = you get 3 plastic cups. Unacceptable. This is in addition to all the other single-use waste for each table such as plastic cutlery, plastic coated little bowls for sides, bibs, etc. Also missing obvious basics for a place like this: they have flimsy 1-ply napkins and give one wetnap per setting. Just no. You need large paper towels and plenty of them. Also there is not easy access to hand washing overall. What an oversight. There is another similar type restaurant farther south on 82nd that is far better and also local (this place is a chain which I didn’t know until I got there). I will not return.
We really use to love this place but it fell off tremendously. We went yesterday and everything was basically tasteless. They also gave us in the combinations lobster that was overcooked and chewy. Potatoes that were hard and not cooked thoroughly. The shrimp was overcooked too. The only thing that was good was the lemon pepper wings. I let the young ladies at the front know of my concerns and all they said was ohh. Too much money to spend to feel robbed.
Onesta mente demasiado Caro y sus bolsas no tra en casi nada solo embarradas . No crees ve y jusga por ti mismo 😐😐🤨
They give a small amount of food in their bag that’s less than u would get at any other seafood place. There was no flavor to any of our bags of food even tho it look like it was. it taste like they just used a bunch of garlic powder on onion powder and beer. I got the spicy’s flavor they had and It wasn’t as hot as Taco Bell’s mild sauce. This was a very very over price meal that’s wasn’t worth it. I asked for the head off of the shrimp and they took all the shrimp and gave me 8 shrimp and yes I did count. everyone who had the head on received about 4 more then I had . Then I tried to get some garlic butter sauce and they were charging $8 for a small cup. This isn’t a place that I would recommend to my enemies. Oh yeah and the crab is small. But let me not talk to bad they deep fried oysters was ok. Happy hour wasn’t so happy today.
My husband and I are first timers in this restaurant. We ordered their seafood boil and ended up not liking the gravy style sauce ( may be the other sauces are better ). We also got fresh oysters, unfortunately, my husband had diarrhea and had to go back in the restroom more than 5 times in a day. Good thing it was his day off. I'll never go back, sorry!
Don't normally give reviews, but I figured this one needed it so that hopefully it doesn't happen to anybody else. I was there Sunday Jan 12 and ordered my food. Ordered a pound of clams and a pound of shrimp in Louisiana flavor. I did not finish my food so I took it home so I that I could finish it later. I took it home exactly now it came in which is a bag. As I'm eating my food at home now I took something out, which to me seems like a cockroach. God I'm hoping I am wrong but I don't know what else it could be.
Ok I really try to be completely un bias about these reviews but this place was a major let down. Tik Tok makes it sound great but I had a very different visit. First it wasn't very clean but then after reading a very confusing menu for 25 mins no one showed up to take our order or even really talk to us so we figured they didn't want our money so we left. I am sorry I can't tell u how the food is but I can tell you don't be in any kind of rush because it won't happen. Long story short there are plenty of other restaurants with much easier menus to read with better service.
Ordered the Cajun seasoning medium heat . It was barely spicy and the sauce was SO THICK like gravy . The sauce also tasted and smelled like tomato for some reason . I wouldn’t eat here. We drove 3 hours from Washington to try this place and would not return. Payed $89 for 1 bag with shrimp and crab & the second bag had shrimp, crab & crawfish. 2 drinks & calamari .
