Pepe's is known for its large portions and delicious Mexican food, especially the breakfast burritos. Customers consistently praise the generous portions, fast service, and clean environment. Some find the carne asada quality inconsistent.

Update: Pepe's had a facelift. Everything looks fresh and new. Same great food! I want to work here and live across the street♥️🌯🌮🇲🇽👍😍😛 It's been awhile since I've made it down to Daaaamn Son! This place is FIRE. The Breakfast Burritos are CLUTCH!!! Great food, giant portions, and killer prices. How do they do it? Awesome Staff, clean, tasty, and affordable on a college budget. The infused water is 10/10. OMG! it's amazing! To much of a good thing? if you get a single Asada Taco, be prepared to share, it's 3x portions. Dare you to order 2, I promise you'll struggle to finish them. I challenge you to finish 3 asada tacos, can't be done! Lot's of CHP, 5-0, and Fire/paramedics. They get preferred treatment, (military in uniform???). Lots of Fullerton College crowd, busy at lunch times, but still fast service. Even with a long line, the drive-thru is often faster than going in.
Pepe’s Tacos is hands down the best taco spot I’ve ever been to! The flavors are incredible, the portions are generous, and the service is top-notch. Every bite takes you to taco heaven, and it’s so good that I want to open 5 of them one day! If you’re looking for authentic and delicious tacos, this is the place to go.
This place has the craziest portions you'll ever find anywhere! I get a large Asada fries and it feeds 3 people and we have leftovers. I could never eat anything I order by myself. The food is always freshly made amd hot. The chicken flautas are so good! I highly recommend!
Visiting from LA and someone told me that this place has the best breakfast burritos. What they meant was they have breakfast BRICKS 😂No joke, this burrito is bigger than a Nintendo Switch and weighs as much as a Yorkie. On top of that, it was fire lol I got it with everything on it.
The food always SLAPS! I don't even know if the kids are saying that anymore but the food is really good and the portions are generous. There's a reason there's always a line in the drive thru. If the line gets long someone will come out and take your order so try and check out the menu before you get here if you can. I can't comment on the atmosphere because I've only done friend thru. We get the nachos often here but I've also had their carne asada burritos and they're really good. I plan on trying their breakfast burrito this weekend.
The best breakfast burritos I've ever had. Their breakfast burritos are so delicious and huge. You could probably share it with someone or save it for your lunch and dinner. Excellent customer service. Plenty of open parking spots. Very convenient location. Very close to the freeway.
I've been a loyal patron of Pepe's for over a decade—almost 15 years now! Back in my competitive cheerleading days, I'd head straight to Pepe's after meets to refuel with their famously large burritos, which are quite literally the size of a small baby! My go-to order has always been the Cali burrito, and I never skip adding an extra side of guac. It's so substantial that it could easily be split into two meals, but for a foodie like me, it's a delightful challenge to tackle it all in one go! The staff at Pepe's are real pros: they work exceptionally fast and always manage to keep a friendly smile, making every visit a pleasure. Pepe's has been a cherished part of both my childhood and adult life, bringing joy and delicious memories. A huge thank you to Pepe's for all the smiles and satisfied cravings through the years!
Yep. If you want Mexican food that isn’t at a sit down restaurant, but not a taqueria… this is where you go. And it’s drive through! It’s all very reasonably priced AND large portions. My combo was $14. I should have made it into two meals that’s how much food there was. The beef taco and enchilada SLAPPED. It was so damn good. Easily my top 3 places now.
Pepe's has one of the best breakfast burritos in Orange County. I got mine with bacon and their green chile pork sauce (highly recommend adding this). The bacon had a good smoky flavor and was very crispy. The burrito is pretty heavy on the beans; which hides the eggs and potatoes a bit but it all still works very well together. The burritos are very big, so come hungry or split it with a friend.
Tiny diveish restaurant with ok service and quality breakfast burritos.... A bit expensive as 2 breakfast burritos and 2 coffees was almost 35$ after taxes. BUT.....2 people can share a breakfast burrito as they are as big as a grown man's forearm! The chille rellano breakfast burrito was so good! Service was a little shakey....took a solid 6 min after the burritos were delivered to receive the coffee.
Always a pleasure to visit one the many Pepe's locations in Southern California. I especially love the Breakfast burritos. Definitely worth the drive when ever I get a chance. This location has very generous portions of food and service was speedy with a smile. Keep up the good work.
We had their breakfast burritos and they did not disappoint! Great service. Small dining area so plan on a to go!

I really enjoy eating at Pepe’s. The food is always fresh and flavorful, and the portions are great. The staff is friendly, the service is quick, and the atmosphere is always welcoming. 🌮😊
Typically Pepe’s never fails me... but I visited on a Friday after where they were particularly busy 😢 hands down, best flour tortilla and big portions. But the steak was a bit on the chewy side and the cheese itself wasn’t melted all the way through. Other than that, it’s delicious and quick! Enjoy!
Ordered a bacon breakfast burrito. It was the size of my head for about $14, so great portion size for price! Taste was alright, not enough pico for the size of it. Bacon beans and cheese were great,…

Great food. The drive-through is backed up with cars from start to finish on Sundays. I decided to call in my order and pick it up inside, but even though I arrived about 25 minutes after placing it—and was worried the food would be cold—I still had to wait another 10 minutes. There was only one other customer inside at the time. Sadly, the total wait was probably longer than going through the drive-through would have been. I’ve been here several times, and while it’s convenient and close by, the food isn’t exceptional enough to justify the wait. There are other places I’d rather go, but this visit wasn’t my choice—and it wouldn’t have been.
Everything was dry and/or old tasting. Chips were stale. Beans were old, dry, and chunky. Rice was flavorless, and the entree portions were very small for the price. Didn't look like the photo. Asked for no cheese on the beans, due to allergies, they still added cheese. Plenty of mediocre "Mexican" drive thrus around with better food and prices. I wouldn't go back to Pepe's.
Meat is bland and dry, cheese and fries turn into a dense ball of carbs. It's not really worth finishing. Halfway through eating it, the burrito deconstructed itself which forced me to switch to a fork which, along with napkins were not readily available. Look, if you're not supposed to carry the burrito around in your arms like a small child before you eat it they really need to add a disclaimer.
Came to check out this place for dinner and ordered take-out. They have a Drive-Thru which is cool but decided to go order inside. You order at the counter and they have laminated menus without any prices (the overhead monitors were not working). Girls are the counter were friendly and this is a casual low key spot where you can eat inside with AC or outside in their covered patio area. Food: - very large portions of huge burritos for $15 - however Carne Asada meat is very disappointing - does not taste even remotely yummy sadly - it’s mediocre, so I can see why they make up by making the burritos huge, and adding the fries you’d think makes it better but NO, it makes them so much drier -__- Even the fries by itself was Meh - not overly oily which is good, but not as tasty, though again, you get a giant bag of fries without much seasoning or taste. Prices as of October : #14 ASADA PLATE - $14.95 CALIFORNIA BURRITO - $14.25 MEXICALI BURRITO - $15.46 Horchata $5.10 Fries $5.52 Parking: - plenty in the lot Restrooms: - one men’s - one gender neutral - was decent and didn’t smell Overall, I’d definitely not go back for carne asada. I’d maybe give any other meats a try or go for a food truck’s carne asada instead.
I ordered a Breakfast Burrito this morning. As I waited, you could hear the kitchen conversations going on. The pick up window is old, which I couldn’t help but notice every time he opened and closed it. Customer service was okay. The breakfast burrito is huge. It’s a little pricier than most breakfast burritos. It felt heavy in the bag. When I got home and cut it in half, it was packed with ingredients. The bacon was crispy and there was diced onions as well. The burrito itself could have used more seasoning. The salsa helped. The green salsa was good. This big burrito definitely needs more than 2. Note: only the Drive-thru is available.
The food is 2-star quality, low grade, fried, unhealthy Mexican comfort/junk food. But the worst part is how expensive it is for such terrible quality. Add to that the way staff treat you rudely because you don't get "tip shamed" into leaving the extra tip when you swipe your card, and this place is a hard pass. There are better authentic Mexican food joints all around this neighborhood, so skip the B level fried food (it's all fried garbage) and head to one the much better (and cheaper) places around the corner, like Taqueria De Anda or Cocina Azteca where the food is actually cooked in front of you on a grill and the ingredients are fresh...places like Pepe's is why our society struggles with obesity and diabetes
Paid $14 for the breakfast burrito only to have them screw up my order. When I pulled up to the window the young male cooks were looking in my direction like they had some interest in who was in the drive thru. I think the manager should tell their cooks to mind their own business and get the order right, no matter who they don't like. Good portions but no I will not return.
I don’t know how this place has great reviews. I’m Latina/Mexican so I should know about Mexican food. The steak was dry, flavorless, cheese was American not Mexican, fries were dry, tortilla tasted like cardboard. Salsa tasted processed not house made. There was no condiments near like lemon, carrots, rábanos, etc. I mean overall for a “Mexican place” it just tasted very American & those who gave it good stars should consider trying an authentic Mexican food franchise.
First time trying Pepe's tonight and we're excited to try their food. We ordered chicken taquitos, chicken nachos, california burrito, and chorizo and egg burrito (we threw them away right away…
I went to Pepes on Sunday for a breakfast Burrito (Shortyz was closed) and was very disappointed. I got it at the drive thru about 7:30 AM before the restaurant opened the doors. I live 2 minutes away and went straight home. When I took the first bite it was hardly even warm. I put it on a plate and microwaved it. Upon opening I noticed there were french fries inside (whatever) and the beans were all at one end. I ate half of it and could already tell my stomach was going to disagree with this food choice so I stopped. Indeed, it found it's way through my body very quickly. Maybe the fries were from the previous day? I don't know. Needless to say the rest went into the trash. Won't be going back.
