iLanet 2 (Baos Hog) is praised for its delicious and affordable bao buns and rice dishes, especially the crispy pork and duck. Customers rave about the flavor combinations and fast service. Some find certain baos too fatty or with too many competing flavors.
Tip: Try the duck bao or crispy pork rice for a flavorful and satisfying meal. Be careful stepping off the curb due to the parking lot layout.

The different choices of meats was good and the portions were huge. We tried the pork, duck and crispy chicken and they were all amazing. When you take a bite you taste so many flavors from the meat to the veggies to the sauces. The price was not bad also for the portions we ordered.
I can't believe how long it took me to finally try this spot. If you don't know about this spot, they specialize in a variety of baos and rice plates. They've been in business for awhile and because of its location (tucked in a corner of the plaza), I tend to forget about it until after I've left the plaza. I was really craving for some chinese bbq one day and then I suddenly remembered about this spot. After trying them out, I can see why they're still in business despite so many new food establishments popping up. Portions are generous and the pricing is very reasonable. I'll definitely be back for more! || L O C A T I O N / P A R K I N G || -Cross Streets are Brookhurst St. and Westminster Ave. -Located in the same plaza as Boiling Point, Banh Mi Che Cali, Sunmerry Bakery, Sunright Tea Studio and more. They're tucked in the corner of the plaza closely facing Brookhurst St. -Parking is a hit or miss depending on the time you come. They're located in a super popular plaza that houses a Vietnamese supermarket as well as many other popular tea/food establishments. || F O O D || Duck Bao ($5.50) - This has got to my favorite bao of all time. I'm not kidding you when I said their baos are super loaded. They gave me a thick piece of duck in my bao and honestly, I could just eat one of these and be done with my meal. The duck was flavorful and very tender Bolsa Bao ($5.50) - My second favorite bao! It's crispy pork and again, you get a thick slice of it too! I liked the pickled onions on top which helps to counter the oiliness from the crispy pork skin. So much flavor in this one Charsiu Bao ($5.00) - A close second favorite but I've always loved my crispy pork over charsiu so it did not surprise me that this was my 3rd favorite. Again, they load up the bao with thick pieces of charsiu. It seems like the charsiu is healthier too because there weren't any fatty pieces which I appreciated. Hainan Chicken Rice with dark meat ($12.50) - You have the selection of white meat or dark meat for this dish and I opted for the dark meat which cost me an additional $1.00 which I didn't mind. This was recommended to me by the worker as one of their most popular rice dishes. I do love a good hainan chicken rice so I decided to try one for myself. It was pretty good although I have to say it's on the sweeter side which I personally didn't mind. It might be from the sauce itself? Nonetheless, it was still good, and they provided a generous portion of chicken.
THIS PLACE IS AMAZING! I ordered the Boss Bao and I think it was the best thing I have eaten in a long time. The pork was succulent and had such good flavor, not to mention is was only $4! I've already told my colleagues how good it is and will definitely be going back to try the other Bao buns.
New ideas of Asian fast food. Come in small amounts so you can try different menus. Good customer service. Price range $3.50 - $10. This place would attract more customers if they can change the look from outside, and have better internal design.
A Culinary Gem in the Heart of Westminster - BAOS HOG Review Stepping into BAOS HOG, you're immediately welcomed by a fusion of contemporary decor and inviting ambiance. This small, yet noteworthy establishment stands out in Westminster for its innovative approach to bao buns, often known as "baos." Each bao is a masterpiece, with the Hog special possibly being the star of the show. The pork is succulent and flavorful, indicative of the care in preparation. Accompanied by crisp, fresh vegetables and a secret sauce that adds an unexpected but delightful kick, it's a harmonious blend of textures and tastes. Beyond the baos, the menu is an eclectic mix, suggesting influences from various cuisines, a bold move that seems to pay off. The drinks selection complements the food, with both traditional options and more unique offerings, indicating that the proprietors are aficionados seeking to provide a full culinary experience. Service is efficient and warm.
This place is in a very busy albeit slightly ghetto strip mall off Brookhurst. We stopped by for lunch. I really liked the baos, the duck was fresh and very similar to Peking duck preparation. Crispy pork was very crunchy and with good texture. The Hainan chicken rice was below average. The rice was too soft and overcooked. The chicken overly salty. I would stick to the namesake baos. They are slightly larger than the usual ones so 2 was enough for lunch.
This place is amazing. When I first tasted the food, the garlic tasted so delicious and marinated. I would recommend this for all my garlic lovers. Must try out!
Update: still a (hidden) gem in OC as of April 2022. I'm surprised they don't have tons of other locations yet. Hainan Chicken Rice is also very good if you wanna try. I have been to Bao Hogs for many times, back when their Bolsa bao was $3.50 (now $4.00). But I've been coming back still because the fact that this is an absolute gem in OC. It's so much that I'm surprised why there is not a line outside every night. In fact, I think if they open one in the hipster LA area, they'll make a killing with $5+ a bao. The Bolsa bao is the one I always get as the crispy skin is where it at - my wife usually gets the Chasiu bao, which is not bad. Skip the line at Boiling Crab or Boiling Point and come here instead.
We got a Duck, a Boss, and a Bolsa bao... All were great. We also got their crispy pork belly bahn-mi. That I was not a big fan of.
Baos Hog serves delicious baos with Chinese BBQ meats. The baos are stuffed with various meats, pickled vegetables, garnish, and layered with sauce. The atmosphere is nice and clean in a fast-casual environment. You order the food at the register, pick-up the food at the counter, and clean up your own table (so, no tipping). The restaurant is small, so I can see it getting very crowded. The service was friendly and my meal was prepared within a few minutes. The ingredients were high quality and the baos were carefully constructed. Big parking lot, but gets busy. Tip: Watch out for the red light cameras in the area!
Been here a couple times already and I love the roasted pork belly with Hainan rice. It's perfectly cooked pork belly with well rendered fat and crispy skin. I shouldn't even say crispy; the skin is almost crunchy. The Hainan rice is a great compliment and so flavorful. Last time I went, I got an egg with my roast pork belt and the server broke the egg before hanging it to me. She offered to remake it but I declined; I was about to break it and eat it myself so it didn't matter. While I was feasting she brought out some of their new Cinabao fries, because she "broke my egg", which are strips of bao deep fried, sprinkled with cinnamon sugar and topped with whipped cream. It was totally unnecessary but I'm glad she did. They were amazing! Overall, great place with friendly staff and affordable delicious food.
The duck and roasted pork here is way better than Sam Woo. Don't order through doordash because you are going to pay 50 percent more per item call the restaurant directly and order from them. I felt very cheated because I thought doordash would charge the same price as the restaurant but unfortunately they marked it up alot
Always a bit whenever I come in town, I always get the Bolsa bao and lychee lemonade. This time, I decided to get the boss fries with pork and it’s now my new favorite. Each bao is less than $7 and I always get 2.
I go here all the time bc I love their food and bc I’m a biggie
We tried the Duck, Boss and Bolsa buns. The boss was pork belly while the Bolsa was a fried crispy pork belly. The Bolsa was definitely better with the crispy skin. The Duck was also delicious and comes with a yummy au jus sauce. We also ordered a watermelon drink which was fresh and refreshing. Highly recommend the food.
Mostly order their food from DoorDash but personally think that I should write something here so they will get more recognition. The food is so good, especially that crispy pork rice. Chef kiss😎
I usually get their crispy pork belly rice and it’s so good every time I get it. It’s crispy, fresh, and tasty. I would definitely recommend!! The workers are also usually very nice and work quickly.
1. The duck bao was delicious! 2. The spot has casual vibes! 3. The staff was friendly and timely with my order! It was ready in about 5 mins! Note: There is a restroom available for customers! Photo: Duck Bao
Easy, breezy, delectable bao buns! Favorites were the duck bao and cow bao. Duck was juicy, the rib-eye was tender and loved the marinade. Bolsa bao was also good, crispy pork skin was on point! Also enjoyed the lychee lemonade and Vietnamese ice coffee, both were delicious.
The first crunchy bite was so savory, I was immediately happy that we stopped and tried this place. Their crispy meat and rice dish is an absolute triumph, delivering an explosion of flavors that dance on your taste buds. Every bite is oh-so-satisfying. This place is fast casual. Walk in, order and then grab a seat to wait for your food. I recommend this place. Try it!
First time here so we ordered several dishes to try. Roasted Pork Belly With Rice, Bolsa Bao, Duck Bao, Cow Bao, Cha Siu Bao, Vietnamese Iced Coffee and Fresh Watermelon Juice. OMG!!! So delicious!!! We ended up ordering to-go as well because it was that good!!
Really great little hole in the wall in Garden Grove off of Brookhurst, really close to the 22 Freeway for easy access. The parking lot is a little crazy and people drive up right next to the shop, so be careful when you step off the curb! The food is really fantastic. Freshly made, very large, fluffy bao and huge portions on the fillings. We went two days in a row because we were so impressed the first day. The girl who helped us the first visit was amazingly friendly. The boy the next day not so much, he also got our order wrong, but you really can't get anything bad here, so we weren't that bothered, although they did forget the one item I was craving the most. Our favorites: Duck Bao which is $4.50, but huge pieces of duck, so worth the money; Boss Hog Fries (choose between pork or beef, comes with sauces, cilantro, and onions), cauli fries (you should get 12 orders of these so no one fights or dreams about them); Fish Bao. Definitely going to keep eating here!
Hmmm…finally back in Cali after a few years and didnt know what to eat..,so wifey did a phone order for take out and honestly I’m really surprised….place was deadddddd when I came around 530pm so I hope this place is good…and it was great!!! The rice dishes was great portion for the value..baos were hefty and fills up well. Fries were good as well. If I come back it would be for the rice dishes.
If you're a bao enthusiast like me, BAOS HOG in Garden Grove is your next must-visit destination. This place takes the bao experience to a whole new level. From succulent duck to flavorful ribeye, their range of baos is impressive. The standout for me was the Cali Cow Wrappurito - a creative fusion of bao and burrito. It was a perfect mix of savory and sweet, tantalizing my taste buds. Although I missed out on the CinnaBao fries, they're definitely on my list for the next visit. BAOS HOG isn't just about baos; it's about exploring a variety of quick, casual, and delicious meals. Whether you're craving an assortment of baos, a hearty rice plate, or their unique wrappuritos, this place has it all.
I'm not sure that you can beat this restaurant for the price. I got a Duck Bao and somehow it was only $3.50. For the price, it was great. The service was so incredibly fast and the employees were all friendly. I'm genuinely not sure how they made it so cheap and yet so delicious. Plus I got a Vietnamese Iced Coffee, which was amazing. Definitely check this place out!
Baos Hog in Garden Grove was recommended to me by a friend. I don't really even like baos necessarily, but honestly, this place has elevated their boa game to make me a believer! I tried 2 different styles of baos, the Hot Chick Bao and the Char Siu Bao, both were unbelievably delicious, and the buns are so light and fresh! The me u sounds so interesting, I am going back on the weekend to try other items.
Loved the Cali style burrito with the beef bulgogi! The size of the burrito was pretty big so I only ate half for lunch. The sauce was decent but not my favorite. Overall I loved all the different flavors in the burrito. Can’t wait to try the baos next!
Wow..dios mio... Amazing.. talk about affordable, great tasting food. I had the duck, bolsa and hot chick hog and it was a life changing experience. I spent as much as a popular fast food meal and I got an amazing experience for my taste buds.. as a taco lover I would literally exchange this in my meal experience more than once.. definitely somewhere I would come back again and again
We got the chicken and duck bao, lychee lemonade 50% less sweet and less ice, and their short rib fries. Highly recommended to get dem fries!
My go to place for a delicious Vietnamese BBQ with Rice. Pick your protein paired with rice for $15 dinner or lunch.
Omg!!! I drive out of the way for this place omg!!! Everything is freaking delish, today I bought my favorites, next the Fish wrap I'm tasting it looks good never tried it but I'm sure it's good all the food here is Fire...😋 lol🐷🐽
Awesome Chinese bun sandwiches. The roast duck and braised pork belly was delicious. Price is right and food is tasty, what more can you ask for.
No wait and quick service on a Saturday afternoon. The food looked and tasted awesome! Service was phenomenon! Each entree was provided with different sauces, Bolsa/Heo Quay Bao and Duck Bao and Char Siu Bao and Boss Bao were yummy! Check out Baos Hog if you're in the area!
If you want to eat like a boss, head over to Boas Hog, with the best pork in the city of Garden Grove! Adding the egg on top of that hot food is how to do it!! Thanks for the great service guys.

Everything about this place is worth taking a trip wherever you live in the los angeles orange county area to go see them and enjoy their food and service. Absolutely. The best pork belly and duck combination that I've ever had in this area. Maybe ever. And yes, their baol buns are huge, and they don't scrimp on anything. The staff that works there is excellent.Well informed and extremely helpful. You have a great and full menu with a lot of exciting items that you will love. Just go give it a try. You'll be happy. Thank you

Ordered a ton of food from here and it was ok. The bao buns were light and fluffy with a perfect texture. We liked a few of the baos but some were pretty greasy or just not flavored to our liking, we also got the chicken and rice which was very good. The chicken was tender, and the rice was flavorful and fluffy. I would recommend this place but probably won't be back for the bao.
My friend and I came back to Baos Hogs for lunch today. We both wanted the Hainan Chicken with dark meat (our favorite) but it was sold out at 11am. Wow! We had to get the white meat. We even asked for extra ginger sauce. It’s really good. The chicken is as tender as expected. Rice was cooked nicely. We’re slightly disappointed because the chicken was a bit salty this time. Hence the 4 stars instead of 5. We’ll definitely come back again.
One of my favorite new places. The fusion of Chinese food with an American twist really makes a great food. My favorite bao would have to be their duck. It is very tender and the meat is very fatty and flavorful. Their fried pork bao is also very good. The skin is fried to perfection and their sauces are not over bearing. I will definitely be back. My only gripe is it is a bit expensive for a single item.
I've tried their bao sandwiches before, which was great mix of flavors. This time I tried their hainam chicken rice dish. Chicken rice was cooked to perfection, not oily nor dry. The dark chicken consist of thigh and drumstick, which was perfectly cooked and had that "ga di bo (free range chicken)" texture. The ginger sauce is different than other places, which i loved because it wasn't oily. Next time I would ask for 2 extra sauce 1 want enough for me.
Extremely disappointed, i ordered the duck it looked awesome but it was pretty bad. They serve it cold which was really off putting and it had very little flavor. The rice was way overcooked and mushy, the sauce was weak. The highlight was the sambal lol. I won't be back.
Fish was amazing, the rest were all just lacking something...
Had the Baos Hog Fries, its meh. the sauces were to be desired (mostly sweet and tart, lacking savory) at least the fries were good! I think instead of the pork belly, I should have gone for the beef short rib....
Ordered the Duck, Boss, and Fish baos. The duck one is fashioned to be like Peking Duck style but sadly the duck skin was completely soft and the meat was okay. The boss one is one of the pork belly version which had too much fat for my taste. Both of these came out as room temperature. The saving grace was the Fish bao, since I noticed this one at least seems to be made to order from the kitchen. Came out piping hot and the flavors were really nice.
DELICIOUS potstickers and very well seasoned beef in the cow bao but a bit too many flavors in all the rest. Tried a duck bao and honestly was a little bit disappointed that the duck wasnt the star of the show.
