The grilled catfish is amazing. Been here lots of times n happy everytime. The fish is cooked to perfection. Never in my life had I had a better grilled fish dish. I'm from Viet n has eaten plenty of them. This place has by far hands down the best one. Compliments to the chef
The mam hot pot was excellent, enough for 4. The broth was mild n slightly sweet with a combination of pork, catfish, squid n eggplant. Mixed veggies with bitter Mellon n vermicelli were provided. Add all items to a small bowl n enjoy. -there is a gentleman that does animals balloon.
If you want the best crispy baked catfish, this is the place to go. they're baked fish comes out so crispy it's ridiculous. I took it to go and when I brought it home it was still extremely crispy! Fairly priced and sure nuff if you order 25 minutes ahead of time you will definitely have no wait time when you get there.
Great food and service. Best roast catfish I've had in a very long time. Crispy skin and moist/tender meat. Blood claims were also very good. Will definitely come back.
This place has the best Ca Nuong(crispy grilled Catfish) we ordered 2 medium Catfish. There was 6 of us. It was crispy and Yummy, the Mam nem (dipping sauce is yummy). Banh beo was delicious, the service was great. I recommend if you want these food items this is the best place to go. Love it!
Great place for family! Crispy Cat fish. Great Banana rice Grill with coconut for dessert. And Specially the Bun Mam noodle.
A good friend suggested this small restaurant & the #13 catfish certainly was everything we expected it to be. Crispy skin, tender perfectly cooked flesh, a big pile of herbs & lettuce to wrap it up... I'm drooling just thinking about it! Staff is very helpful without being intrusive.
The fish was pure perfection. Crispy skin and succulent meat. The aunties and nephew are super friendly and hard working. They were very attentive their customers. Medium size will feed 3 regular people or 2 hungry post Disney monsters.
I only visit this restaurant for the Baked Catfish (Ca Nuong Da Gion) so I will review that dish only. The fish was amazing as it smells really good and very crunchy. I think this restaurant is one of the best restaurant to come for this dish and I highly recommend it. Though, I don't really like the dipping sauce as much as I think it is a bit too diluted with water so the taste was not strong enough. But overall, still enjoyed the fish with my family. It was $58 for the whole fish, so it's a bit more expensive compared to the past.
Great place for baked catfish (Ca Nuong Da Gion) and salty hotpot (Lau Mam) with great prices. This place can be busy with seatings close together and kids screaming. It's similar to drinking restaurants in Sai Gon very chaotic and loud. Beware if you don't like this type of atmosphere. For us, we feel quite at home here. Service is fast and better than expected. The food especially the baked fish is great. It's crunchy, not oily and the flesh is cooked just right. The salty hotpot (lau mam) is the best we have had so far, even better than Oc & Lau. It's not too salty like other places. It's flavorful and comes with pork, squid, fish, clams and a lot of veggie. It's a steal for the price imo. Banh beo is not firm and overcooked but the filling is good. Overall, we have come here a few times and are satisfied each time, would recommend.
Bun mam and banh hoi heo quay are very good. However, they should add more sugar to the kumquat drink. Friendly service & easy parking.
I think mì quảng here is the best so far. The signature dish here is fried fish which is also good
Went here with a couple friends for Vietnamese food. It was my first time there in Cali. Foods was yummy. I enjoyed everything they ordered and we shared everything as a group. Staffs there are nice.
Their grilled catfish is so good! We always order an XL catfish for 3 people cuz we savage like that. That's more than enough. 😋
This was a 60 dollar meal for 3 people. With 3 drinks and pretty much unlimited portions/wraps . For the price, it was a great deal. Taste was good

Surprisingly the beef rice was my favorite. Rice very well seasoned. Beef very tender.
Best place for baked Vietnamese catfish in town. Reasonable prices for the size of the fish. This small was big enough for 2-3 people. The fish came out piping hot and the sides were garden fresh.

I love their catfish, but they have def raised their prices a LOT. Due to that we don't order or dine there as often anymore. If you order take out they don't give you enough rice paper or pickled veggies depending on the size of the fish, you have to pay more which I don't think that's fair. The larger the fish they should automatically include all the necessary things, but you get the same amount as a small fish as you would a large.
Pretty good baked catfish but was disappointed in the dipping sauces. Both the man nem and tamarind sauce were too sweet for my taste. Their bun mam and bo la lot were delicious. I wish the bun mam came with some eggplants though (it would cost extra to add eggplant which is kinda lame). The server is super cool, he makes balloon swords for small kids.
The best oven baked cat fish/ca nuong hands down! Unlike other restaurants I think this place actually bakes their fish hence the 20-30 min wait for your order. It comes with noodles, rice paper, and a generous plate of veggies. The skin is super crispy and delicious. Not oily like its been fried. I cant give it 5 stars though because the restaurant itself is a bit...dirty. The tables are sticky and the plate of veggies were not rinsed well I could tell. The size of the fish is accurate unlike a lot of places. The fish meat itself is firm and not smelly at all. I will be back here for sure!
The ca nuong was a really great choice for a family feast. I ordered a medium and it came out to $50 which I found odd because of the differing price from what it said on the menu but regardless the food came out quick and perfect- the catfish was crispy and delicious 10/10
We went during Tet... Very busy in a happy way. Almost everyone including us was eating baked catfish... Ca nuong, rolled up with noodles, lettuce, pickled vegetable, dipping sauce... Service was fast, food good, parking pretty tough... But it's New Year's, and there is a dragon dancing in the parking lot, and firecrackers.... We will be back for fish soup, rice dishes....
We came here for the baked cat fish. The fish was good and flavourful. It came with a generous portion of vegetables, noodles and rice papers. The service was friendly and quick. The restaurant seems a little run down though. The vegetables didn’t appear to be washed cleanly, We had pick out the old leaves and stems ourselves.
didn’t order their specialty which was the fried catfish. just not a fan of this fish. but i’m pretty sure it was good as they couldn’t catch up with their take out orders which was mostly the fried fish. we had the fermented fish soup which was ok. i had better in the san jose area. nonetheless, i would still recommend it especially the fried cat fish

I first found out about Năm Giao through a friend whose family knows the owners, and now it’s one of my go-to spots — especially for the baked catfish. It’s tucked away in the OG Tastea Plaza, and honestly, I’d never even noticed it until I was put on to it. Lots of places serve baked catfish, but this one is honestly my favorite. It’s flavorful, fresh, and decently priced for what you get. It’s a no-frills, family-run spot, and you can really feel that when you come in. The staff is always nice — you can tell they care. They take cards, but cash is always better for them. I’ve dined in a few times and done takeout as well. When I order to go, they even bring it out to my car, which is so thoughtful. Just a tip — they don’t give a ton of vegetables with the catfish (probably to avoid waste), so if you like making rolls and go heavy on the veggies, just ask for more. They’ll happily give it to you. They’ve also got little side dishes you can grab at the counter, and everything comes out in a reasonable time — unless it’s super busy, which is fair. My other favorite dish here is the bánh bèo — it’s so good. The crispy pork topping is better than most places, and every time I get it, I’m reminded why I keep coming back. Writing this actually makes me want to go again soon. Definitely recommend this spot, especially for the baked catfish and bánh bèo. Hidden gem in the OG Tastea Plaza.

Foods are good, but raw vegetables were not cleaned enough. Not clean.
Got my eye on U-MAMI Bun Mam #27 was good. Lots of fish, shrimp and BBQ pork with fresh herbs. The Baked Fish #13 was not good. We got a large for $58 togo. You can definitely tell that the fish was not fresh because the meat was SUPER soggy like powder. IYKYK. However, the skin was crunchy and flavor was good. The dipping sauces were good too. We also ordered the Bun Bo Hue #26 togo with no pork feet/knuckle but they still gave it... Credit cards accepted.
Pricey but ca nuong and hot pot were very average. We ended up with a lot of left overs since no one at our table liked the food. I make better fish at home.
Came here to try the Ca nuong (baked catfish). We ordered the XL size for the 5 adults, which was pretty filling and we only ordered another dish. We each had about 4-5 rolls each. Prices are reasonable here. The fish is clean well, skin is nice and crispy, & the service here is wonderful. My only complaint would be fresher veggies and more mint selection.
Some of the dish we tried wasn't good, but just decent enough to finish. But maybe since we haven't try their fish since it looks like its the top dish they're popular for.
Had their fish spring rolls and their bun mam hot pot. Wish they had a better variety of vegetables and sauces for the spring rolls. Their bun mam hot pot could have just been a bowl of bun mam as there really wasn't anything for us to cook in the actual hotpot. Service was decent.
This place was recommended to us for their Bun Vit Xao Mang. It's just normal for me but the Bun Bo Hue was a nice surprise. It wasn't the best but decent with having somewhat unique taste of the Vietnamese styled soup. Many people ordered Ca Nuong Da Gion for to-go so we might try it next time. The price is in the typical Vietnamese restaurant range. It is in a very popular business center and the parking is quite limited. The inside is quite small and outdated. It's not a handicap friendly facility with only stairs.
My previous review was to 'Must try. But my last visit has changed my views. I had to wait 20 min more than I was told, BTW I called and ordered 1 hour prior, and the baked fish was ICE COLD when we tried it at home. It must have been in the fridge for long time. My guess is that they gave me the fish that someone didn't pick up!!!

Got Bun Bo Hue tor takeout from here because my go-to places were closed. 1. The noodle, meat, and broth were all cold like they stayed in the fridge. We ordered Bun Bo once a week because it’s my wife’s favorite, normally from Quan Bun or Bun Bo Way, and the broth was always hot and ready to eat. 2. The beef was low quality, chewy, and red on the edges. 3. The broth was bland and had a weird taste. Would not recommend this place for this particular dish. $16 for a large bowl, more expensive than other restaurants as well.
The food is OK, and services are really bad. When I'm asking for paper towels then she said, "Wait for 1 and twice while I've dipping sauce on clothes. What the heck was wrong with her. I then come up to counter...getting by myself. Unbelievable.
Do not go there. Food is over price.I order Lau Mam large( barely and shrimp and fish) i ask for extra soup. They charge me for $10. Just small of soup. What kind of restaurant is this. Also they don't give me a recipe. I do not think they paid sale tax.
Terrible. We reserved a table for people and said we want to order one fish to be cooked first then order more when we get there. The guy on the phone just scream "8 people but only one fish, we don't accept!" Then hung up.... what's the deal? He didn't even let us finish talking. I clearly said I will order more but want one first so we can start to rest right away when we arrive. Terrible customer service. 😑 .
Fried fish is not fresh even it looks yummy, but it is not tasty. Sauce s too sweet. Customer is bad. The seller is kind of RUDE
