A little loud but it's ok!! Really yummy food we had 2 of the 7 course for 3 people and it was perfect. Best charboiled meat ever. Great bò lá lốt.
Craving for 7 courses of beef which is awesome when on low carb diet. The Bo La lot and mở chai ( both are different dumplings) were very juicy . Wish more pickled daikon and carrots were given without constantly asking . Overall excellent food.
This is one of the greatest bo 7 mon anywhere in the US & approaching what you can get in Saigon or Ha Noi. This restaurant is one of three that they have and this is the newest of the three. The beef & shrimp salad to start off is just perfectly marinaded and fresh. The second and third courses comprise thinly sliced beef to be either dunked in a vinegar broth or grilled. The next three were served all together with two grilled beef balls/rolls and then a steamed beef ball. The last course is a beef congee... probably the least flavorful among the 7 courses. Price point is excellent and the place is new and clean. Superb!
We were new to Bo 7 mon and the servers were so kind and helpful and it was amazing food would definitely try this one of a kind culinary experience 😋
Call ahead at least 30-60m before your arrival to make sure you can order the catfish! Super crispy broiled and very tasty! It's also make your own rolls so fun and interactive too!
The food and service here is very good. Friendly staff and good atmosphere. Ca nuong is good. I always come back here.
I have come in twice so far, both times for the baked catfish and I was not disappointed at all. Here are my overall takeaways: Dining in: Service is good, staff are fairly attentive. Food quality is fresh and well. The baked catfish is very crunchy and has great flavor, all of the provided greens were clean and looked very fresh. Restaurant itself is clean and open, large spaces and good lighting. Great ambiance for a catch up with friends and family. Takeout: Calling in the order can sometimes be hit and miss, I had to call in twice before getting the order in (once was disconnected, second time worked). Food quality is excellent for takeout, I picked up the baked catfish in the time estimate provided, very hot, by the time I got it home, it was the perfect temperature and ready to eat. Flavors were exactly the same as the dine-in experience. Overall, either way you go, you can't lose. I'd definitely recommend this just for the baked catfish alone. I haven't tried the seven course beef - so I can't speak to that.
My family had the namesake “7 courses of beef”, baked catfish (called in ahead of time so it’s ready when we arrived), and fresh lemon soda. We also got vegan/vegetarian egg rolls (With taro! Sooo good!) with veg*n fish sauce, which is an off-menu item - so don’t hesitate to bring your veg*n friends! Every ingredient is quality; you can tell there were no shortcuts made in any of the recipes. The staff is very friendly and makes you feel at home. The entire experience is something to boast! We’re not Vietnamese and we’re showing this place off to all our friends now for the cultural experience and quality food. You won’t regret it.
This place is one of the top highlights of Vietnamese food. It is a seven course beef meal. At $30 it is the most costly Vietnamese dish in town but it's worth every penny and , in comparison with other restaurants, for what you get it is really on the low side. There are 4 seven- beef course meal restaurants in Little Saigon that I know of. And they are pretty much the same but I like this restaurant because when I asked for extra salad or pickles they do not charge while the others would charge $8 more. Plus the servers are extremely nice and polite. There is a way to really enjoy this place and that's how you put your own sauce together.
Best items here are the bò 7 món (7 courses of beef) and the cá nướng (grilled catfish with crispy skin)! When busy service can be understandably slow to get you drinks to the table but the food and flavors are on point here!
Bò 7 món and cá nướng (7 course beef & grilled fish) were great and plentiful, we ended up taking lots of leftover home. Next time we'll bring extra food containers with us, even though the restaurant does provide them.
Great service and very tasty!! Original and unique experience
Saturday 4/6/24 Dinner at Thien An Bo 7 Mon Restaurant in Garden Grove with my father, mother, sister, and brother in law. Enjoying Vietnamese spring rolls. It is one of my favorite foods; light, refreshing, and savory. Rice paper wrapped with green leaf lettuce, stredded carrot & daikon, herbs, egg rolls, and grilled beef, dipped in fish sauce. Deliciously gooooood! Tam, female service staff, was friendly and attentive to our table’s need with drinks and refills of vegetables. Thank you Tam! David Young Restaurant Enthusiast ————— Saturday 9/23/23 Dinner at Thien An Bo 7 Mon Restaurant in Garden Grove with my sister, brother in law, cousin, and friend. Enjoying delicious Vietnamese foods: grape leave beef wraps, grilled beef balls, beef salads, onion beef wraps, and egg rolls. All so delicious, savory, and refreshing! There were many service staffs. They were friendly, attentive, and worked super fast! The restaurant is large with a modern decor. There are lots of large tables and seatings. I highly recommend this restaurant. I will definitely return to try other dishes. David Young Restaurant Enthusiasts
Awesome service. Great food.
If you want to feel like you went to Vietnam go check this place out. Even if you dont speak vietnamese or know what to order just go and get the 7 courses meal. One is good for 2 ppl or so. We went as a party of 4 and order 2 courses plus a fish that was fileted. Not sure which dish it was as it was ordered by my friend. Also very fun dining as you get to make your own rolls any way you like. Might want to try a bit of the herb that looks like a heart shaped leaf. Literally called heart leaf i think. Even in vietnam they told me lots of vietnamese even arent fond of this. I personally like it but it is very strong. Also the hot pepper they have at the table is more spicy than you might think. Try a little first. Its not a fast meal. You can enjoy it over a couple of hours. Great for celebrations!
My family and I have been coming here for as long as I can remember. I'm glad this restaurant is still going strong. This is our go-to place for ca nuong (fried fish)! Parking: There's a large parking lot. Finding a spot can be somewhat difficult. Ambiance/Environment: They have a large space with plenty of indoor seating. No outdoor seating. Perfect for groups of all sizes. It's a traditional Vietnamese restaurant. You'll know what I mean once you see the table cloths and chairs. Everything is kept well and clean. Service: We didn't catch anyone's names, but everyone was nice, quick, & efficient. Our server checked on us a few times to refill our teas and waters. They primarily speak Vietnamese, but they also understand and speak broken English. Food: Bringing your family for the 7 courses of beef is the perfect way to feed everyone and go home with a full belly. We also ordered grilled shrimp and grilled fish (my favorite)! The 7 courses include meats, mixed greens and pickled veggies, rice papers, soups, and sauces. We always enjoy everything and leave satisfied! If you didn't know how to wrap a rice paper roll, well you're gonna learn now! The sauce is one of the most important parts to ensure you have a delicious bite. Ironically, I don't dip my rolls in the sauces, so I have no advice for making a good sauce lmao. Start with a rice paper and dip it in the warm water. My biggest advice is to leave a tiny bit of rice paper off the edge of your plate, so it will be easier to roll later. Then, layer greens on top first. Each time you add a layer, always place it close to the edge of the rice paper. I always layer a cabbage first then basil leaves on top, then pickled veggies. Next, layer your choice of protein on top. Since we ordered a few different proteins, I had one of each. Don't overflow your layers bc it'll be difficult to wrap. Now, grab the edge of the rice paper and start rolling. When you're half way through, tuck in the sides, and continue rolling. You just made a rice paper roll! Enjoy! Pricing: Prices have definitely gone up over the years. Can't blame them for trying to operate in this economy. It can be expensive, but it's definitely worth it!
We ordered the 7 courses of beef (not all there in the picture) and the baked catfish. The catfish is cooked to perfection. This would definitely be on my last meals list.
Been coming here for years. Food is consistently delicious. Big venue that can get busy still. Definitely will return.
This place is good, really huge inside, quality food. Diversity of choices in the menu, quality foods & fresh beef for having the Bo 7 mon signature in the restaurant. Friendly staff from the young girl to old men, really quick and happy with the customers. Gonna be back in the future, its have alot of car parking place.
The 7 courses of beef can't be beat and the restaurant is very spacious and comfortable! Everything is very tasty.
Overall great food. Obviously, it is going to be more expensive than if we buy the stuff to make rolls at home but the convenience is worth it. I love the unlimited fresh veggies plates that come with the food. Each plate of noodles is $3.00
I honestly have no clue why this place has a 3.9 rating. It needs to go up. Deserves at least a 4.5 - locals know it’s a solid choice, to bring people to and to eat at on a splurge day. We drove from Rosemead area to eat here because it’s the best “Beef 7 Course” in the whole area. It did not disappoint. It was the best surprise of a great meal while we were in Cali, 100% worth trying.
The sizzling beef is so delicious, it has the taste of eating beef jerky when I was a child, and its grilled fish is a must. The salt and pepper prawns have no prawn taste at all. It's a good cook and a good taste.
Good place for beef and catfishes, we did tried 7 courses of beef, and one catfish grilled, we tried nêm chau small is good
Quite possibly my favorite restaurant of all time. Just show my pictures and order that! Everything is seasoned to perfection and the food quality is unmatched. Beef lover's dream come true.
When I came to Thien An Bo 7 Mon, I wasn't sure what to expect. This was my first time coming to a Vietnamese restaurant. I came in pretty blindly but I was pleasantly surprised. Upon entering, I was seated very quickly and able to get served just as quickly. The rest of my party was also seated very quickly as well. The servers are all very nice and understanding. Once I made known of a food allergy, they were very accommodating. I had a feeling I was in very good hands. The ambience of the restaurant was very welcoming and spacious. I really appreciate restaurants that are spacious because I need elbow-room so I can thoroughly grub on my food Lol. They also have a large screen that displayed aquatic life the night that I went which created a very nice vibe. Now, finally the FOOD! The food was SOOOO good! Everything was seasoned very well and the veggies were all fresh! They even offer a vegan egg roll for those who do not eat meat, which was also very delicious. The experience was very hands-on which I really enjoyed. I customized my spring rolls to my liking as well as the sauce! They offer plenty of food options so it makes customizing not only delicious but fun to experiment with different flavors. The highlight was definitely the catfish! I'm not a big fan of catfish usually but this catfish was absolutely delicious and changed my mind completely! This is a restaurant where you can take your friends, family, coworkers, etc. just to have a good time and eat good food! I will definitely return!

Excellent. Seven courses of beef dinner, two that we cooked ourselves and the others were kitchen prepared. Very broad palette of flavors on the dishes. Fortunately, we were here with our Vietnamese friends who helped us along.
If you're not Vietnamese you will be out of place, but not unwelcome. Food was great service was awesome and they were open Christmas. 10/10
Amazing grilled catfish and shrimp with lemongrass especially good combination with special stinky sauce and fresh lime and herbs. Great service here for such a large restaurant. Clean restroom available inside for customers. $75 for large grilled catfish which is the standard price for this location. Open 7 days a week for dinner and just 15 minutes waiting time. Plenty of parking here. They are next to 85C degrees bakery too. Great for birthday celebration and anniversary party 🎊 or mother's day celebration 🍾

The skin of “ca nuong da gion” was very crispy and tasted good, but the fish I think wasn’t fresh. It took about 25-30 mins to get the fish done. The “bo 7 mon” was delicious, but I felt like they put a lot of sugar when they cook it. The price is ok. It’s a good place for a group of friends or family.
As a vegetarian, there were very few options for me. They aren’t known for their vegetarian food though, they are known for their 7 course beef (or beef waterfall, as my friend called it). I had the vegetable egg rolls, which were good, and the jasmine tea. Everyone else ordered the 7 beef. And if I ate meat, I would be impressed! There was so much food and they cleaned house and loved every bit of it. The service was good, the ambiance is lacking, but if you want the beef, come get it here!
The food overall was very good. It’s just the sauce for the beef seemed water down and not as flavorful. The grilled fish is must try along with the 7 course beef. The gave plenty of fresh and different veggies to go with the dishes. Each time we asked for something they always delivered it correctly and fast. It’s difficult when you have children eating with you. But they did great. Our family had a great time with some friends out of town.
This is an OG vietnamese 7 Courses meat/beef restaurant. They have an extensive menu but most patrons come here for the 7 Courses of meat/beef dishes. Overall, a good experience.

We had their signature 7 course beef meal plus the grilled shrimps (Tôm nướng vỉ). The staff is courteous. The portions served are appropriate. The vegetable are fresh. Food are as expected for the 7 dishes but nothing stands out. Solid 3.5 stars.
Never had a 7 courses of beef before even when I lived in Viet nam, so I went with friends. So here what I took on: 1. The meats or courses in general was good but not great for several reasons: 1. The meat was thinly sliced with spreaded lemongrass paste on top so it was not technically marinated therefore not giving the flavor depth. 2. It was cooked on a griddle with canned flame so didn't give much of the smokiness. Trust me that back in VN when I passed by a restaurant that a chef would grill the meat on a charcoal grill, the grilled smoke made me salivating... shrimp and squids were good. Beef patties wrapped in Betel leaves were OK, not knocking my socks off. 2. The only course that we all agreed liking the most was the grilled meatballs from the kitchen where they were actually grilled that gave the flavors of smokiness and seasoning harmonized. 3. The restaurant doesn't focus on the sauces, you just mix it yourself from the condiment jars on the table. The fermented anchovies sauce was not just stinky but super funky. Don't get me wrong, i can eat that sauce if prepared properly and with high quality fermented anchovies sauce. A dipping sauce in general plays very important role in a whole taste experience, so if the dipping sauce is bad then it will drag down everything else... 4. Veggies were good, not appeared to be old or rotten. 5. The service was pretty good, very attentive and prompt especially for Vietnamese restaurants... Any way, it was good overall but not great.
Food was delicious, BUT the greens were dirty. Rotten leaves, dirt, worms, even a long dead worm on my herbs The rest of the food was flavorful but CHECK the greens 🥬

The Bo 7 Mon was just okay, but the rice porridge was literally made with alphabet noodles from a can. What completely ruined our experience, though, was the terrible customer service. The girl who seated us didn’t bother to bring enough chairs, plates, or utensils for our party—we had to get them ourselves. The old guy who took our order was extremely rude. And to top it off, another girl basically asked if we needed to-go boxes while we were still clearly eating. I get that it was near closing time, but rushing customers like that is just plain rude. The only person that provided decent service was the young gentleman that brought us our food. Don’t bother coming here unless you’re okay with mediocre food and being treated poorly.
Huge place serving Vietnamese Bo 7 mon, 7 courses of beef, which were originally derived from French dishes. It's open for dinner only on weekdays, add lunch for Fri-Sunday. The pace is nice, clean, spacious. Friday lunch there were only 3 other parties or about 20% occupied. Each 7 course serving is now $32 with enough food for 2 people. Baked cat fish dishes are also in the menu. Beers and wines are $5-6. Meats cooked 7 ways are served with rice paper, lettuce, herbs, pickles, to be rolled into spring rolls and dipped in fish or anchovies sauce, which are very tasty. Meat portions are small, but all 7 dishes were better and tastier than those served by the now-defunct Anh Hong and Pagolac: 1. Beef and shrimp salad 2. Top round hot pot 3. Top round grilled 4. Grilled ground beef in betel leaf 5. Grilled ground beef in beef fat 6. Steamed ground beef loaf 7. Rice beef soup, very rich and tasty 1 serving lunch for 2 people costed $44 before tip. It's hard to compete against various Korean BBQs and hot pots in OC serving lunch for $22 and dinner $29 with AYCE rib eye, brisket, ribs. Vietnamese Bo 7 Mon is more like a long, slow, formal dinner, where clients have to roll their own spring rolls, which can be messy. It has not caught on with a large clientele base in mainstream So Cal, likely due to price points, limited menu, beef being the only main ingredients, and the messy work required to cook and eat it. Major venues in So Cal struggled for decades and went out of business. This location used to be Hong An, taken over by Thien An, now returned to the original owner, who operates another Thien An in Rosemead. The 2 Thien Ans on Harbor and Bolsa are original, now operated by 2 cousins. Does not look like they are doing booming business. There may be a market for selling each dish as a single serving, for pick up with lower overhead, in the range of $7-12. We are unlikely to come back.

This was one of the worst experiences at a restaurant I've ever had. Most of the courses were absolutely terrible. The beef porridge was made with canned soup, the fish was completely unseasoned, and the tea tasted like tap water. I feel bad for the fish that was caught because its death meant nothing. The server also talked back to us when we asked why they combined our two orders into one.
This was my first time here . I ordered the baked fish and it tasted really really bad. My mom can't even have a second bite. The fish wasn't fresh, it awful. I paid $70 for a minimum size. Never come back again.
Ordered small plate and they bring out big plate and if I don’t look closely at the receipt I would never had seen that. When i asked them if they gave me the wrong receipt, i got gas lighted, the tall & older gentleman talkative supervisor without the glasses insist that there were 10 pieces in the plate so that’s size large. Funny part is he was the one who took my order. Sure everyone makes mistakes but at least apologize. I will gladly pay for the food I eat but if you do business like that customers will never come here again.
