Estuvimos en Playa Grande by Tropical y la experiencia fue fantástica. La ubicación frente al mar es perfecta, instalaciones bien cuidadas, con piscina y un restaurante delicioso. Repetiré.

Espetacular hotel en Costa catalana. Buen sítio para ir tanto en pareja, con amigos o en familia. Es fácil de agradar a todos los públicos tanto el ambiente cuanto el menu. Me gusta que en la temporada de verano sea “only adults” así se puede disfrutar y relajarse de un ambiente tranquilo, música ambiente y vistas increíbles a la mar. También es encantador en las demás temporadas venir en familia a pasar un agradable día en familia y compartir de una buena comida.

Delphine se ocupa inmediatamente de tomar nota, saber si estás cómodo en el Hotel, Rosa, llega con su sonrisa para empezar. Y una ubicación e instalaciones cómodas, a pie de playa, servicios de spa, gym, piscina en roof top, piscina en planta baja y la playa al poner un pie fuera de la zona de hamacas, con su chiringuito ideal, con Carla al frente un encanto y muy rápida. I really don’t get all the reviews about bad service cause the service here were extremely welcoming and very fast with our orders. The beach club as well is very cozy as someone like myself, who doesn’t really like the beach, the soft music and grassy pavement really made it feel quite modern while still keeping the ‘beachy’ aesthetic. Food might be quite expensive but with the quality being exceptional, in my opinion it’s worth the price. Fancy, informal and fun I really recommend this place to anyone hoping for a quick getaway outside the city.

How can anyone rate less than five stars?! My husband and I booked a few nights at the hotel and I will honestly say, this was one of the most beautiful hotels we've ever stayed at. Very private, quiet, and we enjoyed every amenity the hotel had to offer. From our early arrival into BCN, the hotel host offered complimentary luggage storage until check in - 10/10 awesome! Then she offered us robes for the spa that way we could spend time using the amenities before we checked in - 10/10 awesome! When our room was ready (an hour earlier than expected), we went up to our room and our jaws dropped at the spectacular, grand room we had: the Deluxe Double Room, Terrace, Sea View. Mind you, this was mine and my husbands honeymoon and it truly felt like a dream!!!! The room was extremely spacious, beautifully decorated, sparkly clean, well-equipped, massive walk in closet, comfortable lounging area, and a beautiful balcony that faces the ocean. Nothing, absolutely nothing can beat this. Oh and we also had the hotel breakfast in the morning - it was delicious and the service was quick and attentive! We loved the hotel so much, once we made our rounds around Spain and France, we returned to Barcelona during the last part of our trip and stayed book another night with Playa Grande in the Deluxe Double room! Aside from the hotel, the restaurant had delicious options for appetizers, entrees, and wine. The service we received from the entire staff was quite exceptional and we were really pleased with the paella we ordered. Overall, my husband and I were thoroughly impressed with Playa Grande. We traveled from Tampa, Florida (from one beachy town to another), and there's just nothing like Playa Grande here in the US. I think a major contributing factor to our wonderful experience was the season. We traveled between March 4th - March 14th, which is generally a slower season. Thank you for such a lovely stay and experience, Playa Grande! We will be back!

El restaurante es magnífico. En frente de la playa. Comida rica, sin más. Servicio atento en todo ml momento. Lo mejor, no es un lugar muy concurrido. La zona no es l más bonita de Barcelona, pero compensa la tranquilidad.

I enjoyed this place although some things weren’t perfect but overall it’s a nice beach club. The service was good just in the restaurants the pool staff was a bit unwelcoming. The pool is nice and deep. We paid 40€ each and it was Friday. A bit pricey but it was worth it because you can spend the whole day there. One note, the calamari had sand in them…

Great hotel to stay. Food and drinks were awesome! Didn't mind waiting a bit for quality food and /or drinks. My room-cozy and comfortable! My 1 recommendation: The essential oil diffuser....great way to keep the room smelling good and fresh. I found the smell to be a bit overwhelming. Please know there are people who have certain sensitive to smell, and I'm one of them. Was grateful that I could put the diffuser on the balcony to limit the strong scent in the room.

We recently stayed at this fabulous beach resort and were absolutely blown away by the stunning location and beautiful design. The Junior Suite was spacious, stylish, and very comfortable — truly a highlight of our trip. Unfortunately, the restaurant service left much to be desired. Both in the morning and evening, the staff seemed disorganized and inattentive, which was disappointing considering the high standards you’d expect from such a unique and otherwise exceptional hotel. With better training and attention to service, this place could be truly outstanding. We will be back.

He pasado 4 días y 3 noches en este hotel y quiero compartir mi experiencia teniendo en cuenta varios aspectos. Se trata de un hotel pequeño, con no más de 12 habitaciones aproximadamente. En la planta baja cuenta con un restaurante y en la planta alta con un rooftop. No aceptan niños ni mascotas, lo cual refuerza la idea de que es un alojamiento diseñado al 100% para parejas. A la hora de reservar no presté suficiente atención a ciertos detalles, y al llegar me encontré con que no disponen de habitaciones con camas individuales ni de duchas con plato, solo bañeras, lo que lo hace poco práctico si viajas con un familiar o con personas mayores. El motivo principal por el que mi valoración es de 4 estrellas son varios detalles que considero importantes: Nada más llegar intenté usar la sauna, pero me dijeron que estaba averiada y que al día siguiente la arreglarían. Sin embargo, durante los 4 días que estuve nunca llegó a funcionar. El gasto que hice en el hotel fue considerable, ya que desayunaba allí todos los días y almorcé en varias ocasiones en el restaurante (de precios bastante elevados). Aun así, cuando pedí hacer el check-out a las 12:00 me indicaron que no era posible, ya que la política del hotel establece la salida a las 11:00. Cada hora adicional tiene un coste de 20€, que me cobraron por dejar la habitación una hora más tarde. Al final, lo que determina si uno decide volver a un alojamiento o probar otro son esos pequeños detalles: que no se ofrezca un late check-out de cortesía después de haber consumido bastante en el hotel, o que te aseguren que la sauna se arreglará pronto y finalmente no funcione en toda tu estancia sin ofrecerte ninguna compensación. En conclusión, mi experiencia es totalmente personal y entiendo que este hotel no está pensado para viajes familiares ni para huéspedes que valoren cierta flexibilidad en el servicio o detalles de cortesía.

Una experiencia digna de análisis. Desde el inicio, quien parecía ser la jefa de sala mostró un entusiasmo admirable por los productos fuera de carta, entusiasmo que curiosamente no incluía la mención de los precios. El momento estrella fue cuando nos enseñó pescados y mariscos como si estuviéramos en una subasta, sin previo aviso del coste. La sorpresa llegó después: 70 € por unas almejas, donde 100 gramos equivalían a tres almejas. Grandes, bonitas, sí… pero si no se puede ofrecer un producto a un precio razonable, quizá la solución sea no ofrecerlo. Cuando quedó claro que no íbamos a entrar en ese juego, la jefa de sala desapareció convenientemente de nuestra mesa. A partir de ahí, nuestra atención quedó en manos de una chica que, todo sea dicho, fue muy atenta y profesional, demostrando que sí se puede hacer bien el trabajo. En cuanto a los arroces, siguieron la misma línea: planos, sin sabor y sin chispa, más un trámite que un disfrute. Los postres, sin ser malos, simplemente cumplen, sin dejar recuerdo alguno. Y para cerrar la experiencia con coherencia, el broche final: 17 € por 6 cafés, un precio que no solo sorprende, sino que invita a pensar que el café aquí se sirve con un extra de adrenalina. En resumen, un restaurante donde el empeño parece estar más en colocar producto fuera de carta que en cuidar la experiencia del cliente, con margen de mejora evidente en transparencia, cocina y coherencia de precios.

Most stressful lunch I have ever had with electric music blaring while we tried to eat. Food is very overpriced for what it is even for a chiringuito. Dessert was also an expensive disaster as they couldn’t get out coffee order right and when it came my carajillo was mostly coffee and missing baileys. This place is better suited if you want expensive copas on the beach and not for a family or group looking for a chill lunch after spending the morning on the beach.

Nos anularon la boda a un mes y medio exacto del evento, después de haber reservado el salón y prácticamente todas las habitaciones del hotel para nuestros invitados. Tras varias desavenencias con la organizadora asignada por el propio hotel, solicitamos simplemente un cambio de coordinadora para poder continuar con la planificación de forma profesional y tranquila. La respuesta de la dirección fue cancelar unilateralmente el evento. Durante el proceso se produjeron además comentarios inapropiados e insultos telefónicos hacia la organizadora de la boda, algo totalmente inaceptable en un entorno profesional. La cancelación, a tan solo mes y medio de la fecha, nos dejó en una situación muy delicada, con proveedores ya contratados e invitados informados. Tampoco se nos devolvió la totalidad del importe entregado en concepto de reserva. Es un lugar bonito, pero nuestra experiencia en la gestión fue profundamente decepcionante y poco profesional. Afortunadamente, otros hoteles nos recibieron con seriedad y flexibilidad, demostrando que sí era posible organizar el evento con profesionalidad.

I booked this hotel for one night before a flight, as an alternative to the airport hotels. The location for this purpose it great. Unfortunately, booking this place during the off-season was a huge mistake.

 Starting with the good, because there is some: the beach is beautiful, as is the building. The setting offers so much potential for a wonderful experience. The room was spacious, clean, and well decorated. The bed mattress was comfortable, and the gym is very good for being in a hotel. There it ends. Because without even basic hospitality, the polished surface is just an empty shell. Before arriving, the tone was already set. We received a message at 5pm saying the reception would be closed at 11pm and they would leave our keys for us to pick up. I was surprised by this message, having stated arrival from 4pm at the time of booking, and so I reconfirmed that we would be arriving at 6pm. The message was read, but there was no response. Upon arrival, the receptionist appeared annoyed at having to be there. Not one smile. A stone-faced handover of the keys (without a key envelope). She did, however, not forget to tell us that we could order the SPA services. A price list was stapled on top of a hotel information sheet so as to be in our faces. The information sheet stated all of the reduced services due to low season. The reduced kitchen service closed at 6pm, so we could not eat. We later ordered a Glovo. The bar closed at 7:30pm, so we decided to enjoy the beach view with a drink. The bartender was professional and friendly, but the rest of the staff made us feel like we were an inconvenience. Our order was taken impatiently, and later, at 7:14pm one of the front blinds enclosing the restaurant was shut, as if to usher us along. One blind just in front of us was left open for some view, but with the crank handle demonstratively hung on the hook for us to see. When going to bed at 23:20, we discovered there was no duvet on the bed, only a sheet. This was late October. There was no spare duvet or blanket in the room, and at this hour, no staff was to be found anywhere in the hotel. We ended up sleeping in our clothes to avoid being cold. Breakfast was table service, no buffet. This is understandable given the few rooms and low occupancy, but the service was very slow. We waited for 10 minutes before anyone would even acknowledge us. Meanwhile, about three cleaning staff were fluffing pillows for the sofas next to our table. The standard breakfast served lacked a few items promised on the menu. There was no yogurt or juice, although the fruit was fresh and pleasant. The à la carte French omelet with vegetables we ordered was heavily oversalted and very runny, with no vegetables in sight. At checkout, as expected at this point, nobody asked how our stay had been. I can’t remember the last time I was made to feel so unwelcome in a hotel. I sincerely hope it is better during high season.

Lovely location, however bad customer service. I ordered the monkfish with pancetta without realizing that this meant the dish included pork. The menu only listed the Italian name, and I don’t eat pork, so I was very surprised when it arrived. When I kindly asked if it could be changed, the staff told me it was my fault because it was written in the menu - which only says pancetta both in English and Spanish menus. I understand that it was technically listed, but for an English menu it would be much clearer if foreign ingredient names were explained (for example, noting that pancetta is pork or simply it is "Italian cured pork belly"). This would avoid confusion for guests who don’t know these terms. Aside from that, what left me disappointed was the lack of flexibility from the restaurant and the attitude I received. I paid for a dish that I did not eat :)

I am a neighbor of Gavà and come often to this place. I hate to say that the service is terrible and the location is fabulous also the food is really good. It is very sad to see that the waiters/service is terrible in such a nice and iconic place. Today after requesting for the food to come in a certain way it came all together! Additionally , I have been asked to leave with a “to go cup” with a Cuba Libre that I have asked for 5 min ago! This being midnight on a Saturday on August 2nd ! I have closed this placed down various with previous owners for my 50th bday, my pre wedding party and a business event. Would never do it now. This is not the first time this has happened this summer with the same waiter! Makes me wonder if I want to come back! Personally I think that the strategy of having foreigners come to this place only during the summer time is wrong. They are not true clients but occasional ones. True clients are the ones that come every week every month of the year including winter time. It is not sustainable long term because waiters are not professional ones and the ones you have like Delphine and Charlotte cannot control the bad service of the rest and leaving early!

After several years of enjoying this place and consistently having positive experiences, I was disappointed by a situation that occurred today at the beach/pool area. We waited for over an hour to place a drink order, and despite repeatedly asking for assistance, no one came for quite some time. When a server finally did approach, they responded with a poor attitude and even raised their voice at us, which was quite upsetting. This experience was very out of character for what I've come to expect here. I truly hope this was an isolated incident and that service can return to the high standard I've previously appreciated. I’m still fond of this place and hope to continue enjoying it in the future.
