After 10 days in northern Italy, this was the best restaurant we found! The restaurant is run by one man who does it all with a menu that changes daily that he reads out to you. The food is fresh, local and divine, particularly the slow cooked beef brazato which had beautiful depth of flavour. Advisable to book ahead as there are only 4-5 tables. 100% recommended!

Stefano is not only the ideal host but also a passionate master chef who will make you feel wonderfully comfortable and relaxed as you embrace the culinary journey ahead. Everything was perfect: from the appetizers to the dessert, Stefano patiently explained all the choices and possible combinations with a selected variety of wonderful Italian wines. Pavia may not be known as a culinary capital of Italy, but Stefano’s Bistrot feels like a fabulous island of generous treasures where you want to get lost in space and time. We had a fantastic time. Thank you, Stefano, for the passion and love you share for culinary art. I cannot find better words to recommend your bistrot to all tourists and locals in search of a unique experience.

3 of us dined here last night as a treat as we had finished this leg of our Via Francigena hike and what a wonderful experience it was. It was a one man show with the owner being the waiter, wine expert and chef. He took the time to thoroughly explain the varied menu to us and checked for allergies and intolerances. All the food we had was absolutely incredible. I had to restrain myself from licking the plates clean. He also suggested excellent wines for us. He was friendly and nothing was too much trouble. It's a small restaurant so I would definitely recommend booking and getting there early. Hopefully when we return next year to resume the Via we'll be able to dine there again. Thank you so much for such a memorable evening and we loved your dog too.

Excellent Experience. We were passing by Pavia, just looking for a casual lunch. But GLASS bistro turned it into an quality event, never to forget. Food, service and atmosphere were exceptional. Highly recommended!

Went there for dinner after our late flight and we were incredibly well welcomed by the chef, who provided such a wonderful experience for us. Everything was cooked in house (including pasta!!) and we had the best wine pairing ever! We had plenty of options to choose from and the chef recommended the best option based on our preferences - ended up googling the wine afterwards to order some at home. We were lucky enough to be the only ones in the restaurant, so it felt like we rented out the whole place. Everything about the service, food, atmosphere was simply out of this world.

Simplemente increíble. Espectacular. When the other reviews say this is the best pasta place in Italy, I couldn’t agree more. To me, the best pasta I have eaten in all my visits to Italy. I seriously thought about having it again right after eating it. I loved the ravioli with zucchini and the wine recommendation. Dessert was fantastic as well. The cozy atmosphere, the just from the kitchen food, the kind owner and cook, the music… everything here is just so good ⭐️ I loved loved loved it. I made a furry friend as well! 🐶 Thank you so much for the fantastic experience!

My wife and I were delighted to discover this wonderful restaurant on our recent visit to Pavia. Firstly, the hospitality was first rate. We had the friendliest greeting from the lovely owner/chef (Stefano) on arrival. As each course was presented Stefano would tells us a little about the food and wine. Food was utterly delicious. This was amongst the best food we have eaten whilst in Italy. Each course was like a party on our palates. The pairing of wine (we left it to Stefano) was perfect too. If in Milan again we’d both gladly travel to Pavia to eat at Stefano’s wonderful restaurant. My only disappointment is that I could only give it five stars.

Tiny location on a side street where we had lunch based on prior Google reviews, which seemed quite accurate. The experience was one where the chef joked a bit with us about what was available and then discussed with us a few choices that he had cooked up today. The recommendations were excellent. The ingredients seemed top-notch. We especially loved the subtle flavor of the Java pepper. We ended up with gnocchi with Gorgonzola and truffles, followed by a well marinated and slow-cooked beef, which practically melted in our mouths. Dessert was fun. Sitting in the street was fun watching students and others promenade past. All in all, a really lovely experience in Pavia.

Definitely the best place where we eat during our vacation in Italy. We found this places because of the high Google reviews and it was marvellous. I would recommend people to stop at Pavia just for this place. Everything is fresh and home made and the style of the dishes is fusion so Italian with a twist and it works out great! The owner did everything by himself the evening we came. He is the chef, server and can tell you so passionate about the dishes for the evening. We took the 4 courses and we where already a bit full after the second one because the portion are good, but after the second course the chef asked us if we wanted more, but the food was so good that we wanted more just to experience the other dishes. I don’t drink wine so he created a nice cocktail for me so that was really kind. If you are a food lover this is the place to go!
