Opinions de 5th Street Coffee & Roasting Co. Gilroy
Columbian Pour over, flavors chocolate & nutty. very good. Salted caramel Latte, very smooth sweet. Our barista/server was very helpful and let us know when our drink were done. Very wide open coffee shop, lots of seating and a little boutique in the back of the shop. Prices were great. Loving that this had a small town feel and not corporate coffee company. Will definitely be back to try some iceeam and pastries.
Came for a visit as I was in the area on a Tues afternoon. Greeted by amicable staff, decently service time as there were a few people waiting orders. Grabbed an lavender chai latte. Was good, not too sweet. Great space and ambiance inside, not loud and outdoor seating available with plethora room along the sidewalk. Well kempt. Parking along the street and off 7th in the back.
To my knowledge, this is the only place in town that grinds their own beans. Cool, chill vibe, with indoor and outdoor seating. They also have interesting coffee drink choices. I had the almond honey latte.
The perfect coffee spot for my coffee stop while on a road trip. Downtown Gilroy is the coolest! Friendly service. Very good coffee. A little coffee bite and then smoothes out into fresh coffee taste. Then, the Pumpkin muffin is the perfect compliment to the coffee. Stop by and try!
Love stopping here for coffee and dessert. Coffee was well made, loved cardamom flavour, marble cake was moist and a generous slice, enough for 2 people.

What can i say about Fifth street coffee great coffee friendly staff and the muffins there 100% delicious and fresh made my favorite Blueberry a must try also the Mexican Moca 😋
Just stopped in after having moved away and it is STILL amazing!!! Delicious iced coffee! No need for sugar and cream. Blueberry muffin is yummy too and not too sweet.
Great local coffee shop!! Nice atmosphere and more importantly great coffee/ espresso !! Come try em out
This is my second time at Fifth Street Coffee Roasting Co, and it’s just as great as I remembered. I first stopped by three months ago while visiting a client in Hollister from the Bay Area—and now it’s officially a must-visit whenever I’m in town. The coffee is excellent, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the handmade pastries (crafted by the owner!) are absolutely delicious. A special shoutout to Dulce, who helped me both times. She’s not only gorgeous and super friendly, but also incredibly patient and professional—even when the line is out the door. She recommended the coffee cake this time, and it was soft, spongy, and insanely good. Dulce is a true gem and a staple of this coffee shop. Her positive energy and skill behind the counter make every visit memorable. Can’t wait to come back again. Highly recommended! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Fidel Tinoco
First time visitor. I dropped in mid-morning on Feb 26, 2026. I ordered a cappuccino with a double shot and a banana bread. They roast the coffee beans and bake most of the pastries. What I had was delicious. They also have scooped ice cream which I did not try. The people behind the counter were all business which is fine. The ambiance was relaxed. I'll come back.
5th Street Coffee. The coffee is always fresh, and you can taste the difference since I think they roast their own beans. The Mexican mocha is good with a unique balance of chocolate, spice, and coffee without being overly sweet. If you’re looking for a solid local coffee spot in Gilroy, this place is definitely worth a visit.
This is our favorite coffee shop! Not only is the coffee consistently excellent, their food offerings and customer service are fantastic as well. We highly recommend 5th Street Coffee!
Iced peach matcha 🍵 is a great way to start any morning. Even on a cold day :) I enjoy getting coffee and tea here when I am visiting the area.
Great espresso and their treats looked delicious. I will be back. I wish they allowed dogs in the store as I would go in more frequently when I walk my dog in the mornings.i also love that they use real caramel and not syrup flavor for their macchiato delicious.

Best coffee in town by far! Hands down no competition! Love the sugar free vanilla iced latte 😋 😍. Customer service is great, the employees and owners will have you leaving with a smile 😃. I literally go there everyday, good way to start the morning.
We had some time to kill so we went here to get croissants and my husband had a cup of coffee. I had an almond croissant which was good. My husband had chocolate and said there was a lot of chocolate in it, which he loved. He also said the coffee was very good.
$6 for a small iced caramel machiatto. It was extremely good and the service was fast. Seems like a nice place to hang out. The price is the only downside.
The smell of the coffee lured me in even with my belly full. I really liked the bourbon caramel latte and was looking forward to trying the Ethiopian coffee pour that would have taken 10-15 mins more. Maybe for next time. The place was quaint and cute. We also got to sample the garlic ice cream, which is both a novelty and shock to your system. They do have very less seating.

The only thing that was nice/good about this place was their set up. The lights are dimmed which is perfect if you are trying to just enjoy a coffee and a book or watching the people walk by. The coffee was plain and had no coffee or vanilla flavor for what it was (vanilla latte) and just throwing an idea out there, it would be nice if they heated up their pastries. And the service was bland. The lady with the shoulder length brunette hair was rude and not friendly at all but I have now given it try and know.

The place was overall good but I don’t think I would come back. The atmosphere was just really weird, the barista was informative but not really customer service friendly. So I was kind of disappointed because I really wanted to try a new place. But the chai was good, simple.
The service is ok, the atmosphere is nice ... but they really, really don't know how to make coffee. The regular latte was overheated and the milk had no texture at all. Just like Starbucks but for some reason commanding a premium price. And the Earl Grey latte was utterly undrinkable with a very weird taste.

I really enjoyed the fresh almond milk latte i ordered. The chocolate croissant was delicious and fresh. I walked in happy and excited to support a small business! And local! won't go back. Did not feel welcomed. I even tipped regardless of the owners unwelcoming nature. After speaking to a local friend of mine it has been assumed they are racist. So if you aren't privileged and light skinned forget going in there 🙂. Starbucks doesnt treat me based off my skin color. For the owners who I know will read this consider getting a sign that says "whites only".
My first and last time visiting this place. The 2 females were talking when we got there which is fine but the one closer to us looked upset when we wanted to order. Didn't bother to call our name for our Coffee's when they were done. Don't expect a Tip from us if you're not welcoming or greet your customers and do your job correctly. A few other Reviews state the same this Coffee shop lacks Customer service! Lot of Competition opening nearby.
The barista was assisting a mother and her children in cleaning up spilled water. She did so kindly when the mother asked for help, but she reassured her with, 'No problem, I will do it.' She then went to the back with a cloth and bucket, returning quickly to start preparing our coffee. I asked if she wanted to wash her hands after cleaning, and she said she had already done so. In my opinion, her response was not entirely honest.
The aesthetic is amazing. But, truly, can we all stop pretending this place is worth supporting ? The own (lady with brunette hair) has the oddest vibe. You’d think one would be friendlier to those supporting you. I’ve given this place a few tries and it ALWAYS ends up with bad customer service. Such wasted potential.

Love the coffee. Customer service is bad. It almost seems like they’re trained to not have customer service
