Opinions de Ozzy's Apizza Glendale
Great pizza! New Haven style thin crust pizza. This location is all outdoor covered seating. Plenty of tables. Good place for groups. There's a couple TVs to watch a game. They also have a small bar. Service was good. Friendly staff. There's street parking on Arden but you'll probably have to walk a block or two.
Outstanding pizza. We'll be back. The Liotta was my favorite, 2nd was the Tommw Want wings, 3rd pepperoni idiot, 4th the zupp.
Each pizza was cut into six slices, came out hot and crispy! My friends noted that the undercarriage of the cheese pizza was a little disappointing because it was floppy from the tip to the middle of the pizza, but they said maybe it was just an off day because it still tasted fine. My partner and I got the Mikey rabbit and the undercarriage was totally fine with no flop! I personally am not a thin crust person, but the flavors are great. Solid stop to make before heading to the movies or if you just like outdoor dining. Pizza on average is about 20 to 22 dollars, and a couple could for sure finish one pizza be full! The service was great though, and they were so lively and attentive. Would come back again!
A perfect pizza! I had the basic and it was really good. Beer garden atmosphere was quite a surprise and a pleasant one in a warm day, and tucked away in a residential area and small street, it's a nice touch. Alexis and Jesse were friendly and helpful. They gave me stickers, pictures. I'll be back to get other choices on the menu, the pepperoni one and the extravagant clam one.
Get The Jewelz pizza!! Nice local pizza spot. No beer, just soft drinks but always friendly atmosphere, good amount of toppings
Finally came down to this pizza spot we saw on the pizza guy ! They said the wait was about an hour but we got our pizza in less than a half hour. Plenty of seating outside with restrooms - cute ambiance ! The pizzas were delicious ! I can’t believe how light and crispy they were! They don’t even flop when you hold it up ! And you don’t feel gross and dull after eating them . Good flavors. We had the liotta and white rabbit !
If you want abeetz in Los Angeles, this is the place to go! The staff and everyone there is high energy and very friendly. Clearly they understand and hav a passion for the style of pizza made in the New Haven area and produce fine pies in a wood burning oven. Like it charred the way pizza ought to be? Then thi: is the place that will satisfy your slightly scotched gluten needs! I'm planning on trying the clam pie next time I'm in. Looking forward to reporting back to my CT ex-pats The place itself is very relaxed, and you can park yourself in the middle of it, or in the nooks and crannies of this outdoor, enclosed venue, Have a good time and tell them, "Jimmy the Gut" sent you. Abbondanza! Pro Tip: NH pizza is scorched (burnt)! You should ask for light scorch for your 1st go round or you may regret it!
Found Ozzy's thanks to Dave's one bite review and recommendation. This pizza is absolutely amazing. This is hands down the best pizza in LA. Personally, I rate it a 9.1. Everything tasted so fresh and can totally taste all the quality ingredients they use. Crispy dough with a good bite. The staff was very nice and welcoming. Outdoor seating was very nice as well. Ended up getting the "The Liotta" and "Your Very Own Cheese Pizza." Liotta had an amazing flavor and lets the sauce shine. The cheese was fresh, hot, and had a little cruch to it. The cheese was our favorite of the night. Can't wait to come back and try the rest.
The pizza is excellent, I definitely understand why people love this style of pizza. I think of the 3 I tried, I loved them all but the cheese was my favorite. The sauce is amazing, nice and sweet and rich. The staff is friendly, I'm definitely coming back!
LOVE the location! 🤌 They sold out by around 7:30pm. (Big demand) good for them The Mikey Rabbit is a must have White pizza 🍕 Just a heads up: The Liotta is a sauce pie for you West Coasters that may not be used to a simple pie with no cheese 🧀 Thin, crisp, light. The Mikey has a bit more fluff and encompasses everything you're wanting. Crunch, sponge, zest, and meat while not overly filling. Can easily see myself visiting more often. Seating is generous and spaced out where you get privacy. Constructive feedback: 1) Although the bar is separate, it would help a lot if there was a drink menu. 2) Music was quite loud where we were sitting. 3) Music choice was great, but consider Spotify Premium, because the ads can be a bit awkward.
My wife and I are from New Haven CT and we are pretty fanatical about New Haven pizza. We moved to Los Angeles last year and have been underwhelmed with local pizza. So we were understandably intrigued when we heard of Ozzies because it was started by two New Haven area guys and they claim to have authentic New Haven pizza. So this was our experience last weekend. The restaurant is in an outdoor courtyard/patio that is part of a larger complex called the Glen Arden Club. I have no idea what that is or what they do, but Ozzies doesn’t seem to have any connection with it beside working out of the space. There are quite a few tables, mostly covered, a really attractive space. There is a bar for drinks and a counter where you order your pizza. One of the owners served us, a really nice guy. We told him of our New Haven connection and we had a good conversation. He definitely knew the New Haven pizza scene, used all the lingo (abeetz, mootz, rigot) and the pizza selection looked familiar. We ordered a selection that represented classic New Haven pizza: Your Very Own Cheese (a plain cheese), The Pepperoni Idiot (a cheese and pepperoni), You’re Welcome (a white clam, garlic and olive oil), The Mega Powers (a white fresh tomato, basil, olive oil and garlic), and The Mikey Rabbit (a white pie with mozzarella, white ricotta cream sauce and spinach with Zuppardi’s style sausage). Here are our thoughts. The crust was very good - thin but not cracker-y, cooked well but unfortunately with no char (New Haven pizza is traditionally cooked in coal ovens, which leaves the crust looking a little burned but that is one of best parts. Unfortunately, I believe it is illegal to cook with coal in California, so no points off for this!) The tomato sauce on the two red pizzas was disappointing, too much oregeno, New Haven sauce is pretty much just crushed tomatoes. But the white pizzas were fantastic. The clam pie was just right, the tomato/spinach/garlic was great and the white sausage was fantastic. Overall, it was a great experience. Comparing it to New Haven pizza, I would give it a few points off for the tomato sauce but Ozzies is not only a solid New Haven pizza place, it probably is the best pizza I have had in California. Highly recommended.
A new king is crowned! There are still a few places on my list that I still need to try but it's going to be a real challenge. Great crust. Great sauce; not too salty, not too sweet, not too herbal. Good cheese and toppings. A really enjoyable pizza. One of the best I've ever had!
A beautiful homage to the classic New Haven “Apizza”. The crust is very flavorful, charred, thin and crispy. As any good Apizza should be. The sauce has a lot of character and tang and it goes very well with the fresh toppings. The cupped and slightly charred pepperonis were definitely a stand-out topping. The team working there is also awesome. Everyone clearly loves what they do and it shows in the product. It’s amazing what they can do with a regular non-coal oven. The atmosphere is also great. There’s a spacious garden-like area for dining. If you go here, I highly recommend eating the pizza fresh. Don’t let it get soggy in the box.
Service was great, Pizza was delicious! If you are planning to do take out I suggest ordering on the app if it’s on and they are not super busy because the wait is around 30-40mins. Good option to dine in as well they have an awesome outdoor space and serve alcohol too!!!
Did I go to Ozzy's Apizza due to seeing Dave Portnoy give them a great review on One Bite? Yes or yes? Was I getting kind of bored and jaded about the Pizza scene in LA? Yes or yes? Was I having digestive issues and constipation due to high amounts of Pizza consumption? Yes or yes? Did I also have to balance my Chi due to this and more? Yeah. I did. I had to balance my Chi, but I did so. I did it so strongly. And hey, I never wound up in the hospital over it. Did I also try New Haven Pizza in New Haven? Yes or yes? Was THAT because of Portnoy. Not fully. All us Pizza Devotees have known of the legend of New Haven for quite some time now, for me probably a decade and a half. But in the Summer of 2023 I did go to Sally's Apizza with my then pregnant partner. Which we have on film by the way. Now, in the Spring of 2024 with our child born, did we try Ozzy's Apizza on Mother's Day? Yes or yes? DId it make sense Portnoy gave this 8.1 and then later on decided to make the score even higher at 8.3, which he never does? Yeah. It did man. And I say this having had egregious amounts of different Pizzas all over the Country and furthermore have been to Italy. Okay? I will say there is a difference due to Los Angeles banning Coal Ovens that you don't get because of the gas ovens but they have great gas ovens and considering this is LA... is Ozzy's a breath of fresh air? Yeah. And by the way, they love Wrestling and have wrestling themed t-shirts for sale. They have awesome people working there who also do other things like create coffees to fund their friend's cancer treatment and such. If you are real about PIzza and you are in LA, should you go to Ozzy's? Yes or Yes? What would I rate it if I was using a One Bite scale? I don't know if I can really veer far from Dave on this one however, I will say that outside of this place I am only thrilled about a handful of Pizza places in the grand scheme of things which include Little Dynamite and Prime here and Fiorella, Damn Fine in San Francisco. Did I sense a tinge of Boston vibes on the Pizza? Yeah, I kind of did. Traits that are positive and found in Santarpio's and Regina's were there. Is Ozzy's Apizza basically something that feels at that level? Yeah. That is a high compliment especially since they opened in 2021, during pandemic. I'll be back.
We were excited to try this place because we heard good things about it. We came as a party of 7 and they had more than enough seating for us during lunch time. They were very kind to us from the beginning and recommended us 5 good pizzas. The pizzas were incredible and the atmosphere was amazing. I loved the Mikey pizza and all the pizzas I tried. I cannot recommend this place enough, this is easily my favorite pizza in Glendale!
Best Ah-beetz outside of New Haven. The liotta pizza and pepperoni idiot pizza were amazing. I love this style of pizza. It was worth the 4 hour drive just for pizza. Great outdoor atmosphere.

My new favorite pizza place. I ordered the “your very own cheese pizza” it was airy and crispy with delicious cheese topping. Also had the “you knead this bread” garlic bread was also crispy and light with topped with lots of garlic and cheese.. both were great, can’t wait to try the other pizza combinations. I enjoyed coming in for dinner and drinks the atmosphere is awesome and so is the staff! Thank you!

Amazing experience here at Ozzy's. My boyfriend had been wanting to come here since he saw the review from Dave Portnoy. We loved the cheese and pepperoni pizza. It was a good atmosphere with the outdoor patio seating. Very friendly and good customer service.

Stopped by for a late lunch and had a wonderful experience all around. The service was super friendly and fast. There looked to be a good selection of sodas, beer, and maybe wine too. We got the Sprecher Craft Root Beer and it was delicious. For pizzas, we ordered the Liotta and the White Rabbit with mushrooms added. The Liotta has no mozzarella and you honestly don't even miss it. The tomato sauce is full of flavor and the the dough is thin yet perfectly crispy. There's a light dusting of parmesan too. It all works together beautifully. For a simple yet delicate style, everything must be executed well and Ozzy’s gets that. The White Rabbit was also executed well. The ricotta cream sauce had good flavor but didn't overwhelm the generous toppings. I'd been craving white pizza and this one really hit the spot. We had an overall great experience, and we'll definitely be back. The only thing that could have improved the experience is maybe a little less Imagine Dragons. 😅

We had 2 pizzas for lunch here, they serve New Haven style pizza, which I’m a fan of, so I have a bit of a positive bias. Really tasty pizzas, will definitely go again. The pizzas were 14” and very thin crust. The crusts had the New Haven style crispyness which I can’t get enough of, so good. Flavor was really good too. We went during lunch time and it looked like they had just opened so we were the only group there. You put in your order at a counter, they give a number and you pick your own seats. There’s a second counter where you buy drinks, they have alcoholic options as well. It’s a large and spacious outdoor area, I thought it was really cool. Towards the end of our meal a few other groups started coming in one after the other, I can see this place getting packed during lunch time however I did not whiteness it. We parked on the street right outside, no meters.
Been wanting to try this place for a while and I can happily say I had a pleasant experience. The service is incredibly friendly and the atmosphere is very relaxed; the whole experience feels like you’re eating pizza in your friend’s backyard. Since I’ve never had New Haven style pizza before, I had to keep it simple with the Liotta. I was surprised with how firm the crust was, it was very crunchy, in a good way, and I liked the flour dusting on it. The thin dough was perfectly speckled with a subtle bite to it. While the dough was great, what really impressed me the sauce. I was able to taste and see every seasoning that went into the red sauce. It is amazing how proper seasoning and fresh ingredients can pack so much flavor into something so simple. Ozzy’s Apizza is definitely worth trying even if you have to drive an hour to get it.
