Opinions de Buona Notte Cafe Glens Falls
New restaurant in the area. Delicious food. The atmosphere itself is more like a diner than an Italian bistro cafe, nonetheless the food was delicious. Started off with glass of wine. For appetizer we started with the eggplant napoleon. I would very much recommend. Great flavor. Very good red sauce. They provided grilled bread with olive oil and balsamic. There was definitely a hint of truffle. Wife loved the bread. For entree my wife had the Chicken Scarp. Delicious as well. Very rich brown sauce. I had the Carbonara Americano. The cream sauce was very good. For dessert we had espressos with a slice of their chocolate layer cake, yum! I would definitely recommend.
We had the best experience here! The service was impeccable, with extremely friendly & knowledgeable staff. The chef/owner introduced himself and made it a point to let us know that he was happy to accommodate us in any way possible. Our waiters were both very enthusiastic & offered great suggestions while ordering. We went with the Fra Diavolo and Chicken Parm, with a side of the truffle herb fries. Everything was DELICIOUS especially the sauces and pasta. The portions were generous and the prices unbeatable. Can’t wait to bring more family and friends here; you can tell they genuinely care about the diners experience & put great thought into the product they deliver. Will most definitely be back!
AMAZING! Best italian food in the area by far! The people were absolutely lovely and treated us like family. Absolutely would come again! Best restaurant experience ever! Everything is homemade and everyone clearly really cares about the quality of their food! Such an amazing place.
My wife and I were told this place was the real deal authentic Italian so we had to try it out. We were not disappointed. I am privileged to eat at some of the best restaurants in the country and this was better than a lot of highly coveted Italian restaurants in major cities up and down the east coast. My wife loved the eggplant Napolean and the crab cake app. As someone who grew up on the ocean in New England she described it as the best crab cake she has ever had in her life, and I agree. The chicken picatta was impeccable and the pasta was fresh and absolutely perfect. I love that it is a family owned venture, and the food is definitely prepared with love. Every aspect of the meal was a perfect 10 out of 10. This is our new go to spot in town when we want a perfect meal for a very reasonable price. There are a lot of very good restaurants in Glens Falls these days but you would still be missing out if you don't check out Buono Notte!

From the moment we walked in until we left, the experience was cordial and entertaining. We conversed with the owner and his attentive staff about the business, the neighborhood, and of course, the cuisine. The Chicken Scapriella was unique--spicy, rich, perfectly presented. I kept a scrap of bread to capture the last of the beautiful sauce. My dining companion reported the eggplant parmesean to be exceptionally tasty, and both servings were of more than ample size. In all, it was a five-star experience that we would gladly repeat. Matt Killian is to be congratulated for his excellent establishment.
Matthew Killian runs the best restaurant in the 518!! I was recommended this place from a friend and was blown away a thousand times over. Matthew and Lisa ran the place like it was my grandmas house. The comfort level, personalities and level of service belong in manhattan!! This dude really knows how to run a restaurant. Keep in mind I am from Saratoga and have nowhere near comparison nearby. Do yourself a favor and check out Buono Notte!!! Matthew is truly one of the best I have seen in business.
Update Dec. 2025: We had another wonderful meal at Buono Notte Cafe. The food was excellent! The people are pleasant and friendly. This is our new go-to restaurant for special celebrations. I can’t wait for the next opportunity to eat there! Looking forward to going back! We had a wonderful meal last night (Oct. 2025). It was our first time eating at Buono Notte. We were looking for authentic Italian food and we were not disappointed. It was a slow Tuesday evening, which made the experience more intimate. We enjoyed chatting with our server, Lisa. My husband, a vegetarian, had the pasta primavera with house made fusilli and a marinara sauce. I selected the white clam sauce with angel hair pasta from the specials menu. My husband had a lovely Cabernet and I had a wonderful Chianti. From the house made salad dressings, to the wines, to our entrees we were very pleased and impressed! The entrees were fresh and hot! The food was a close second to the variety of foods we have enjoyed all across Italy. We will be going back again, and we live nearly an hour away. Worth the drive!
Can't recall the price, but it was reasonable for what you get. I got the homemade pasta. It had a lovely decor. There were only two of us, but I saw tables of four that looked comfortable. It is small, which makes it intimate.
Relaxed atmosphere, intimate setting, friendly service, and a chef/owner who will ask you after your meal how he did. And the food was delicious, and ample enough to bring home for another helping.
While small in size, this restaurant is a big success! From the moment we arrived, service was terrific. Our waitress, Victoria was welcoming, efficient and very good. We started with the fried calamari - it was terrific, lightly battered, very flavorful and not at all chewy which is often an issue. The bread was served lightly toasted and the perfectly crusty. The olive oil and chili flavored balsamic (?) was so good. I could have just dipped bread all night! The salads were nicely presented, no discolored lettuce, and served with delicious homemade dressing. In my opinion, a homemade dressing really steps up any salad. Finally for entreees, my husband had chicken Parmesan (with a side of the tastiest sausage!) and I had a special of chicken cutlet topped with fried eggplant, spinach and red sauce. The marinara sauce is delicious. On a side note, it was nice to see a chicken cutlet Parmesan served as a full cutlet, not cut in strips the way the local restaurants serve it. We were pleasantly full and skipped dessert but I'd love to try their rainbow cake. If their desserts are half as good as their appetizers and entrees, I'd be very happy. As a former Long Island girl, it was so nice to have an amazing Italian dinner close to home. Wishing Buonno Notte lots of success as long as we can still get a table!!
Can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. The service was amazing. Very personable and accommodating. The food was very good and flavorful. The calamari, chicken parm and shrimp franchise were all incredible. Restaurant was very clean and the music selection was even on point! Prices were very reasonable for the portions and quality. Will definitely be back again!
There are so many great places to eat in GF, so glad we stopped at Buono Notte. The service was friendly, the atmosphere was nice and we got seated right away. We got the Carbonara and meat sauce with the daily special pasta, it was truly delicious and you could tell it was fresh and prepared with care. Highly recommend!
This was our second time dining at Buono Notte. We went with different neighbors each time and everyone had something different and everyone loved their menu choices. We know Chef/ owner Matt locally since he was a high schooler and very proud that he has found his calling. As someone who grew up in Brooklyn and had the good fortune to experience true Italian cooking, I can attest that Matt and crew have mastered the cuisine.
This special little Italian gem is a bit small (10 tables) but it packs a great menu. I had heard about it months before dining there and finally found a great excuse when a few friends of mine were going to be passing thru Glens Falls. The appetizers were a meal in themselves but the main dinner menu was excellent. So glad I finally had the opportunity and I’ll be bringing a Bunch more friends both new and old. Small wine menu will hopefully get a boost as more and many others give this Primo Ristauarante a try. No one and I really mean No lover of Italian Food will be disappointed.
Great food and great hospitality. The place was lil small and open. Privacy is not an option but the love put in the food makes it worth it.

as a transplanted NYC Italian American, this is the best Italian food in a fifty mile radius. Lived upstate 20+ years, constant lack of a good Italian joint majority of said time; no longer an issue.

Enjoyed 2 wonderful meals tonight. I had the baked ziti special, side of meatballs. O so good. My daughter had Carbonara, she loved it as well. Service was excellent.
I never write reviews but My husband, daughter and I went to dinner this past weekend the food was amazing. The sauce was outstanding. The staff was so nice & apologized for the wait numerous times, it was well worth the wait. We will definitely go back when we are in town again.
Legit Italian food in Glens Falls! I got Carbonara Italiano to go that came with bread and salad. It was all good. A couple weeks later I had dessert and it was great. No complaints. Good vibe overall for a smaller space.
Small, very casual location. Outstanding food! Although a small location, the menu is large. Another gem in Glens Falls.

Heard good things about this place so we decided to try it as we love Italian food. People there were pretty nice,I’ll give them that. Normal business when it came to ordering drinks and food. It did however take almost one whole hour from the time we got there to get our salads. With hardly any words exchanged from staff in between for a heads up or something. We then asked 45 minutes in about our small side salads (just two) and our only reply by staff was “your salads will come out”.OK. In that hour of waiting a larger group of people came in and ordered glasses of wine and were attended to frequently. Meanwhile we weren’t even asked for refills on our sodas.(We don’t drink) We finally got our salads and not too long after our main course. Which I’ll admit was good. We do have a 5 year old child who has a hard time sitting sometimes so about an hour without food wasn’t easy. Communication could’ve been a lot better. This place does have good food but not the best place for kids. If you go there looking like you’ll spend a good amount of money you should have no problem there.
Ordered take out, meal was hot and prepared quickly. Heavy on the lemon on the Francese and butter on the Carbonara but overall ok. My only major complaint would be the $3.00 charge for take-out. Not sure what the reasoning is behind that and it's also a first for me. Done plenty of take-out before locally and other restaurants out of state and never was charged for "take out". Not a sustainable business practice for a local restaurant in Glens Falls.

I tried to order takeout today and was really disappointed. I was literally sitting outside with my baby when I called in — the door said OPEN, but Lisa answered and told me to call back in 10 minutes because they “don’t open until 4.” Meanwhile, I watched multiple people walk in and get seated. When I asked again, she claimed they were having a “service meeting.” Instead of waiting around, I took my business elsewhere. If you’re open, you’re open. If not, maybe update the sign and be honest with customers.

I have family in Glens Falls, and we were at the Queensberry visiting from Michigan. I ran down to your restaurant to see if four of us could get in for dinner at that point there were three open tables. The time was 520. Victoria said to call my people, have them come down( I did not have my phone with me), and our guests were not at the hotel quite yet but due any minute yet. I said we would be back at 5:30 if possible and she said yes, she would hold a table. I ran back to the Queensbury. My guest had arrived and we immediately went down to the restaurant( got there at 5:30) and All the tables were full and Victoria said “told you so !!!” Very rude. We then went over to. I believe it was called Park and Elm had an excellent excellent dinner!!
