Absolutely wonderful environment! My husband and I came here on our honeymoon and did a sampler of their beers! You must get their Pathfinders Porter! We got the mustard encrusted salmon and chicken alfredo. It was great food.
Use to live in Glens Falls years ago and use to be one of my favorite places to go. Don’t get the chance to come up now living just 20 miles away in Saratoga. However, was in the area twice this week and saw a couple reviews by others that are not in congruence with the experiences I use to have or the two experiences I had this week so I figured I’d write an appropriate review. To be fair, I see some of the other reviews generally were talking bad about the owners which I had no interactions with. Sat at the bar both times and was served by a younger female bartender who was great as well as the other waitresses that helped me throughout my visits. Attentive, polite and most importantly they were competently handling the bar, dining room and quite an absurd amount of take out orders. Considering short staffing these days everywhere, I’d be pleased to have them working for me. The food was great. Had a black and blue burger, maple chipotle wings, bluesberry beer, a lemon raspberry cake and coffee between my two visits. Everything was fresh, cooked perfectly and took what I would consider an appropriate amount of time to get to me. I’m a huge fan of wings, having a lot of family from Buffalo and their wings with that sauce is one of the better ones you will find outside of Western NY. My only recommendation would be that both for the sake of the women who were working the pub and the patrons at the bar, that they come up with a better system for to go orders, door dash ect, bc the bar area is crowded enough with the kitchen door right there as well and it becomes a bit much for the staff, people picking up food and bar patrons. High marks for food and staff and will go back soon when I’m in the neighborhood.
Friendly staff. Nice selection of beers, which lean to the Ale side. Red Ale and Tavern Ale were very nice. Only had the soup (Buffalo Chicken), excellent. Food prices seem reasonable. Main tasting / dining room, small, but very cozy.
We came to this place with friends and family after spending some time at Lake George. Very original menu with excellent service and a private room if you have a party of 10. I had one of the best Fish/Chops dish and Buffalo Chicken Soup. The staff was very helpful and attentive. I will rryurn and highly recommend it.
Delicious lunch and they easily accommodated our party of 14. Excellent waitress!
My wife and I stop by and she loves their Icecream, we decided to stop in and check out the dinner menu. It's a great place for getting a good hamburger for the Friday Night Dinner Special- Bacon Cheese Burger with seasoned fries. I do recommend trying the Woodchuck Hard Cider.
Great place, great food, nice house made beers, and awesome staff. Cozy dining room and bar. My son had his 18th birthday gathering here in a small separate party room. They took really good care of everyone, and even provided their homemade ice cream cake for dessert. 8 people fooded and soda-ed and desserted for about $165 plus tax and tip, which I found to be better than reasonable. Popular spot, so plan accordingly. Recommended.
Covid-19 precautions in place. Atmosphere was nice. Food and service excellent! Even the dill pickle was firm, crisp and perfect! Family friendly too! Didn't have the ice cream as portions were large. You know it's a good place when the sweet potato fries are crisp and they serve it right... Melba sauce!! Definitely will stop again when in the area!!
Outstanding service, wait staff is always friendly and attentive! Shayla has been our waitress the last few times there, who is a true example of a wonderful waitress. Food is always delicious and fast to the table! I personally recommend the Cran-Walnut Chicken Salad wrap!
Me and my son love coming here they have great food and relaxing atmosphere and the kicker it’s like a small town dinner as they remember us ever time we go there
Wonderful brew restaurant. Much has changed with expansion and upgrades, and really good beers.
We had a great time and the food was incredible
Decided to eat here on our recent trip to Lake George. So glad we did! It is crazy-difficult to find vegan options in LG but Cave offered several. My partner, who is not vegan, was happy with the quality and portion size of his shrimp cocktail and fish and chips. I ordered falafel tacos, which were beautiful! The fresh salsa was delicious. Our server was knowledgeable about the food, and was friendly and attentive. I loved that the hot sauces she brought to try with the tacos were available in the next-door gift shop. We bought several for ourselves and for friends. AND on the rear side of the restaurant is a wonderful ice cream shop, which also offers vegan soft serve. This was such a great experience all around and we will happily drive a little extra on our next trip to have lunch here again. Although we didn't eat on the patio, we'll try that next time--it's lovely, plenty of shade, pretty lights and ambiance, etc.
Great place. I really liked their menu. They had so many good choices. I ordered three enormous steak tacos....the food was visually appealing and very yummy. All the beer is made there, and happy hour from 3-6pm every single day which means 4.00 dollar beers, and some inexpensive happy hour goodies. The service was great, too. I highly recommend this brewery.
Stellar! I’ve only done delivery and pickup, so I’ve never dined in person. THE FOOD HOLDS UP. It’s so good EVERY SINGLE TIME. Chefs kiss - thank you!
This used to be a regular stop on the way to Vermont but we haven't been there since before COVID. It will become a regular stop for us again. They have a wide variety of beers. They're all quite good. The food has always been excellent, as is the service. It's has a nice local feel. It is highly recommended for a beer, a quick bite to eat or a full lunch or dinner. Highly recommended, enjoy.
Not busy, we were seated right away even on a Saturday night! Everyone on the staff was very friendly and ensured we had a great experience! The chicken marsala was unfortunately pretty bland. But the boneless wings were very good. And the peanut butter 3 layer cake was to die for! Overall an excellent experience, can't wait to go back! Uodate: also great ice-cream in the back and right off the bike trail!
I just had my daughter’s first birthday here. We had 12 people plus kids and used their private room. Everything was perfect! Everyone was easy to work with, stress free, and just really customer oriented. And the prices are great. I would highly recommend for any special event!
We had a great lunch while visiting one of our favorite cities, Glens Falls, NY. Very low-key atmosphere - perfect for meeting friends and family. We were not rushed and felt very at home and relaxed. I am looking forward to our next visit and will get ice cream.
Had dinner here tonight. We were sat immediately. Our server was over very quickly. The soup was great as an appetizer and then our meals were out fairly quickly and tasted great.
Got there for happy hour, always a plus. Hubby had taco salad, I had turkey BLT wrap, added cheddar. Both of us were very happy with our meals. Nice selection of their own beers. Nicely priced. Fries were good too. Wait staff was very attentive.
Nice atmosphere & very friendly staff. Had a nice lunch with a friend and we sat chatting for a long time. I love the chopped salad!
Great spot to stop for ice cream or a beverage while walking or riding on the bike path. Friendly staff at the ice cream window. The restaurant is great too! Tasty tap beers and full bar with tons of liquor options. The pizza is good, the wings are great, the burgers and sandwiches are tasty too. Nightly/daily specials including 50 cent wings all day on Mondays! (My favorite) After going through some subpar staffing issues, they now have what seems to be a solid crew of attentive and friendly gals. Highly recommend trying them out.
Was in Glens Falls for the day and had seen this pub on social media. Decided to give it a try. We'll worth going. The food was very tasty and plentiful. The black raspberry margarita was one of the best I've had. To make the visit truly worthwhile was the service. Today Sarah did a tremendous job. She was easily the nicest and most accommodating server I have ever had. She was the true highlight of the visit. I will most certainly be visiting again when in the area.
Can't say enough about how wonderful and accommodating Patty and her fantastic staff were when they recently allowed us to host a memorial service dinner on their enclosed patio. From the start, Patty met most every request with a prompt response that was both positive and reassuring. The space was perfect for our group, the food was met with positive reviews from all of our group of folks from toddlers to seniors, and the service provided by Allison, Candace and the rest of their crew was sweet, attentive, and efficient. If you are looking for a nice space with a local history vibe and unpretentious atmosphere with consistently good food and great service, Cooper's Cave is a great option. Thank you Patty and your entire crew!!
We had a pretty good experience. Went in around 4 pm on a Friday. There was one women working at first so she was a little busy but once more staff came we had very attentive service. Food was good, and we loved the soda sampler. Such a great idea!
I wasn't a huge fan of their pizza, it was about the same as everywhere else. Their french onion soup is pretty good. They've got the best boneless BBQ wings that I've had in a long time. The little ice cream shop on the other side is a big winner. When two of us know we can't eat much of it, but still REALLY wanted to, they were happy to split our order into two dishes. If you've never had chocolate coconut...give that a go. It was pleasantly weird.
I have been traveling from one of the food capitals of the United States! (Houston) Struggled the first couple of days to find something great to eat! Not that I have much experience with New York Pizza Specifically, But being that I myself am a chef, And I’m coming from a food capital, I hope that it means something to say that this place delivers a consistent high-quality meal! However, i was working long hours and was too lazy to go and get my food from the restaurant so I only saw the location when i grabbed a Growler as a birthday gift. (Try their Blueberry beer..you have to smell it, so wild) I had it delivered mostly and it was done in under a half hour. The food was hot and absolutely delicious!! Keep it up guys!
Jerry, our server, was fantastic. Very knowledgeable! I don't normally remember a server's name after I leave there but his I do. There were five of us. Everyone was satisfied with their meal. My husband said the burger he had there was in the top five burgers he's ever had and has entire life. You can get a flight of craft soda which was really cool.
Very good selection of a variety of beers. The food menu also had a lot of great options and variety. I can't wait to go back! My only complaint is that it's too far from my home!
Colorful menu. No disappointments, good variety for a picky group.
We went there last night for dinner. The food and beer was great as always but what really made it a nice experience was our waitress “Sky”. She was very attentive and friendly. She had a lot of tables going but she maintained her calm and made us feel like we were the only ones there! Great job!
Great little spot for a beer. Right on the bike trail which is convenient. Good beer selection.
We’ve been really impressed with the take out at coopers cave! We often stop by the ice cream window when we’re on family bike rides, but this winter we started adding them into our take out rotation and we’ve been delighted! The burgers and grinders are top notch, and they have a ton of very reasonable sides which are helpful for feeding the kiddos (meatballs, slice of pizza, veggies, etc.) We love coopers cave!
Love the food here. My wife always gets the salmon. They make some great beers here.
A snug, casual dinner on a freezing night! We came on Wing night and chose the garlic parmesean rub which was amazing. The Sagamore burger was also very filling and delicious. I highly recommend pairing with the sweet potato fries! Yumm
Great food, beer, and wait staff. My girlfriend and I love it here. The Osso Buco special was AMAZING, hope it returns!
We frequently visit coopers cave. Its location on the bike trail is perfect for visiting after bike rides as a family, whether it’s just for ice cream or for a snack to share. Best raspberry sorbet in the state, and the root beer floats are top notch! We love sitting on the covered patio!
Cooper’s Cave Restaurant in Glens Falls, NY is a nice restaurant that offers a little something for everyone. They have an excellent full service restaurant/pub that offers delicious meals. Portion sizes are very large and the food is very good. There is both indoor and outdoor seating at the restaurant depending on when you go. It is easy to order takeout here as well. On top of a quality restaurant they also make and bottle their own ale. They offer a nice variety of ales and they too are good. Personally, I think the Bluesberry Ale might be the best. Finally, they also make their own ice cream and soda. You can buy the ice cream at their ice cream stand in the summer or purchase it at the gift store during the year. Again, there are many flavors and they are good. Soda is available year round. The gift store also offers Cooper’s Cave merchandise and other delightful foods that they sell like candy and nuts. Because there is something for everyone here, you're bound to find something you like. It is easy to find on Dix Avenue in Glens Falls. It is located next to the Warren County Bikeway and is an excellent place to stop if you’re riding the trail. Stop by for excellent food, ale, soda, or ice cream. You won’t be disappointed.
The best thing about this place is the ice cream stand. The sheer variety of flavors and the things you can do with them means you'll never run out of delicious things to try. The ale there is decent. The Black and Blues is a personal favorite (mix of a stout and a blueberry ale). We ordered the eggplant parm and quorn chick'n tacos and the food was mediocre, but that might just be because, like many pubs, they don't put a lot of effort into their vegetarian options. We saw a few other meat dishes come out of the kitchen that looked okay.
Group of small children outside making quite a bit of noise while parents were inside restaurant. Very noisy!! Also, place could use some cobweb control by tables out back. Food was excellent and wait staff couldn't have been more attentive to our needs. We'll be back.
Went for corned beef on St. Patrick's Day. It was pretty tough. I usually really enjoy my meals here so this was unusual.
The food and service are so good that it's always crowded.... ice cream is some of the best ... save room for Dessert....
We often find ourselves coming here for lunch and leaving very satisfied but far too full for their amazing ice cream. The portions are good here and the food is flavorful and fresh. The staff is very friendly and does not rush you.
Nice place for a drink and lunch. We had the nachos which were good. The staff was so nice, friendly and accommodating to their guests and to the people calling in orders with special needs and concerns (I was sitting near the phone). They also have flights of their own beers and sodas. All the sodas were pretty good and I liked most of the beers too.
Great lunch place! Fabulous menu, daily specials, home brewed beer and soda (agave base, not corn syrup) I had a delicious burger prepared expertly! ( I ordered a-medium rare burger, with extra crispy bacon.) my husband had the Reuben, also delicious. They have a plethora of desserts as well. Our waitress was delightful and helpful, but service was a little slow. I highly recommend.
I had the special for the day, which was a cheeseburger with side! The burger was over cooked, not to my liking. Everything else was good!
Great restaurant while visiting friends! Our server Sascha did a great job!! It was a busy night for dinner and she handled it well! I had the butternut squash ravioli and it was very good!
So, you ask how I can give this place four stars when the three sub-categories are 5 stars? Unfortunately it is because of the beers. My travelling partner and I both love Craft Brews and IPAs in particular. The bartender let us taste 5 different IPAs and all of them had some level of bitter after taste. We then tasted two more different beers that were OK but not great and ended up ordering those (he had the Brown Ale and I had the Strong Ale). The food was great. We both enjoyed the Spicy Buffalo Chicken Soup (the bartender even offered to let us do a taste test on it, but we said no). I had the ribs which were fall off the bone tender and he had the salmon with a pecan & maple mustard coating.
Great ice cream is a relaxing setting. Prices are high, and as good as the product is, it is hard to pay such exorbitant prices.
Great pub for beer and good food. Are outside with our dog. Food was a wide choice and the salmon tacos and chopped salad were great.
Went with 4 people. Food and drinks were very good. The table next to us was very loud. Having a good time. It was noisy but it didn't bother me. Just my table mates.
Inventive and varied menu with very friendly staff. Eat inside or out with a heated patio. Locally crafted sodas can be sampled in a flight or on tap with bottles versions too. Stay for a slice of ice cream cake. Great appetizer selection and happy hour. A beer and soda lovers delight. Tight parking lot.
Our waitress was not very efficient. We would ask for something like lemon in our water. She forgot. Then we would ask again and she would bring our apps and then not bring the lemon. My French Onion soup was extremely salty. I love salt, but this was way too much for me. I did tell the waitress. She didn't charge me.
Poutine not authentic because the curds didn't squeak and mozzarella doesn't on it according to our Canadian sources. My husband had the Poutine but I had scrumptious tuna(not canned) tacos. Sundae very good. Girls nice and helpful.
Ok, service was very good. Ambiance is good. Had good choice of food, beverages, and wine. Most if the food was very good..fish n chips huge, n great. Buffalo chicken soup was hot, and tasty although a bit too thick for my taste. Chopped salad too salty, but great portion. Wings were inedible..way over cooked n dry. Overall experience in past has been pretty good. Last night, wings brought down score, as it was our main meal.
Beers are alright. Food is great comfort food, not mind blowing. You don't leave hungry. Service is great, Sasha was our server. What a delight. I don't think I'd go out of my way, but on my way back from the mountain? I'd stop it. Root beer floats are 🔥🔥 tho. THAT is worth the stop
Food was delicious but the service was absolutely terrible. Our waitress never checked back with us after serving the food. We had to go to the bar to get another drink, and had to ask another person for our check after waiting long after our food was gone. This is our 2nd experience there with the same results. We won't be going back
The service has gone way way down-hill. They don’t both asking if you have a phone number on file to accumulate credits. When I order takeout and say I want them to take their time while I have a beer, they totally ignore me. I have barely had a sip and the food is out. By the time I finish and go home, everything is cold. Harvest and other restaurants definitely are interested in accommodating customers. Coppers Cave is not!!
My wife and just wanted a date away from home and it was like dinner and a movie. Our waitress Allison was fantastic!! We would come back just to have her again. We ordered the pretzels with cheese, poutine fries and dessert. Pretzels with cheese: fried pretzels with canned cheese. Not my favorite at all we did send them back. Way too greasy and the cheese was gross and I figured it would be homemade cheese. Poutine fries: flavor was good but we did find a bug in the cheese. I thought it was an herb at first but it wasn’t. We didn’t send these back because the drama that was unfolding there was crazy. The Reese explosion dessert was good The tiramisu had great flavor and I would order that again. The drama that unfolded there was uncalled for. One waitress came from the kitchen with an attitude to Allison about her food. She was rude to her and gave her so much attitude which made the whole atmosphere uptight. My wife loves to people watch so this was very entertaining. I really am disappointed with our food! *I also love their root beer because it’s homemade but it was not the same maybe watered down? Bad batch? Not sure but wasn’t right.
Not impressed at all...beers were not very cold and kinda flat. We didn't eat as planned, the beer was enough of a disappointment! UPDATE!!! We gave it a third try after a three year break..still the same musty beers and crappy service. delivered us the wrong meal after a 45 minutes wait! NEVER AGAIN!! NO IDEA HOW THEY'RE STILL IN BUSINESS..MUST BE GOOD ICE CREAM...
REVISED - We went back for a 2nd time today, 7/19/25. We had a $5 off reward to use. The problem is, most of that was used on the 2nd lemonade I had. NO free refills!! When I said something to our waitress/bartender, Candace, she said "It says right on the menu, no free refills". Who reads the entire menu? She should have said something when I ordered the 2nd glass!! She said nothing! I don't think we will be going back again, sorry. We were a little disappointed because, I had just signed up for the rewards earlier in the day, and then couldn't even get credit for the money we spent, which was almost $60! Then their website doesn't offer any way to contact them, just a phone number.
I don't think we will be back. The food was "okay"... but everything else was horrible. Our waitress was incredibly sweet but obviously frazzled. I wish her the best ❤️ As a four person table we were there just shy of 2 hours. Unacceptable. It didnt help that this experience began with almost a 30 minute wait to even be seen by waitstaff after being seated. The outdoor patio door stays open for convenience for the staff but freezes everyone out inside while they are waiting to be served. The place is clean and comfortable, but the belligerent locals that bang on the door asking if you are "pooping" after just walking in has me furious. The disrespectful nature of everyone, including the staff in the establishment, is ultimately what caused me to write this review. The hair in my food was nice. The male waiter in his dirty oversized polo was gross. It's also obvious that this is not a "team" atmosphere between the staff. Watching people come in to an empty host stand to wait there for 5+ minutes when there are clearly open tables is ridiculous. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME. You can find better food elsewhere, and definitely a more comfortable environment.... especially for the price. Oh, and don't drink the water. It tastes like the toilet that I did NOT poop in, but disgusting nonetheless. Update.... previous reviews are correct about the "prime rib". It's just roast beef. Mashed potatoes are extremely garlicky and all their food is masked with raw onion.
This used to be one of our go-to spots in the GF/Queensbury area. But something’s off now. The food’s just okay now—beers still solid—but the vibe has changed. Biggest red flag: the bartender had trouble with my card and asked me to write down my PIN. I offered to enter it myself, but they refused—until they finally stretched the keypad over the bar so I could type it in. No place should ever ask for your PIN like that—not even your bank would.
usually have a good meal there, I feel the prices are way out of wack for the quality of food! Mom had a turkey sanwich with very old bread could not eat the crust with tomatoes on the side, not ripe at all. But I will praise the waitress she immediately took off 5 bucks, thank you. Line cook never should of plated the whole meal!! The onion soup was the best, no one compaires to this soup well done!!!
Love the soda sampler concept but the soda was unremarkable. Excellent pretzel appetizer but it could use a beer cheese or beer mustard instead of queso that tastes like it's from a can, better suited for cheese fries than a pretzel dipping sauce. The burger and salmon burger was abysmal - tasted like it was reheated Cysco product. Rushed service at 10pm, an hour before they close on a Saturday night.
I ordered a Reuben. I got the end piece of the loaf of rye, which wasn't grilled. This is a first for me, being served a heel of bread. (I don't even make sandwiches with that at home! I save for croutons. They make salads here.) The other slice was burnt. My co-worker said hers was burnt, too. By the time I got it the bread was soggy anyways. The corn beef was tough and cut so thick it all came off the sandwich when I tried to take a bite. My sweet potato fries were soggy too. Really disappointing since I'd been here a couple years ago and remembered it was good. This was part of a lunch order for our office, now I regret recommending we go here today.
I honestly hate to write a bad review for a company that I’ve loved since I was a kid but the good quality has been declining rapidly while the price goes up. The tiramisu is misleading on the website, it used to be an actual slice of tiramisu and now it’s a pre packaged, dry cylinder of cinnamon cake. In top of that I just ordered the French onion “Au Gratin” soup for delivery, and the picture shows it with a nice layer of melted cheese on top, and a side of bread, which would justify $9 for soup, but what showed up was just French onion soup in a tiny cup, with the bread ALREADY STUFFED INTO THE SOUP. It felt like I was eating a 3 month old used dish sponge. Couldn’t even bother to put the bread in its own bag. Not to mention there was absolutely no cheese in/on the soup. Complete rip off. The only redeeming factor (as long as you don’t have heart problems) is the pretzel bites. They’re good but have your doctor on speed dial. Cauliflower wings are alright as well. EDIT: I dug around in there (because I was unable to eat the whole bowl of soup for obvious reasons) and the cheese was in the bottom of the bowl. It was some of the grossest Swiss cheese I’ve ever had, and was definitely not broiled like it appears on their menu. Sorry for the inaccurate review but I think someone’s first impression is also important to consider. And the bread being in the soup already is just gross.
First off I want to start by saying this used to be our favorite and go to restaurant. We moved farther away so it’s not as convenient but we made the trip tonight. And I HIGHLY REGRET IT. I came in with two toddlers and my husband. My chicken in my wrap tasted extremely old and microwaved. Extremely dry and no flavor and hard to chew. Some of the lettuce in my side salad tasted spoiled. At the end my kids got ansty, my husband brought one of them outside while I waited for the bill. It finally came and there wasn’t the ice cream voucher that comes with the kids meal so I asked. 3 times. It’s like they hope you forget because they aren’t going to bring it out unless you ask. Then I had to wait TWENTY MINUTES for my card back and the ice cream voucher. He double checked how many kids I had. I said I had two here but I only ordered one kids meal. So I understand one comes with the dinner but now both of my kids waited because of your establishment for twenty minutes longer than we should have. I would have probably made a different call. So we leave, go redeem the coupon. He said oh it’s an extra .64 cents for sprinkles. WHAT?!?! The customer service or lack of common sense is baffling. The gentlemen behind me in line ordered a large sundae with no extra toppings. So hold the whip cream, nuts, sprinkles, ect. He should have asked for the .64 cents discount! I am outraged by the lack of common courtesy. The fact that we were treated so poorly. Very disappointed. Very upset.
Working jobs all the way back to my teenage years, I remember two important rules: 1. The customer is always right. 2. Whenever the customer is wrong, refer to Rule 1. These rules seemed to be important to the management and staff at Cooper's Cave Ale Company, and I was proud to call myself a loyal customer of theirs for over a decade. Until now. Apparently it is now acceptable, and even defensible, for the staff to make multiple mistakes on the same order. This is not the first time such has happened lately to myself, and the family and friends to whom I have recommended this restaurant. On 2/25/23, one dish that we ordered included their soggy fries when it was made clear that fries were not wanted with the order, and another dish wasn't even included. Even their onion rings have gone soggy. When the manager on staff was confronted with these errors, he couldn't even be bothered to offer a sincere apology, treating me not as a valued customer but as an annoyance. His response was to claim that the cost of the entire dinner would be refunded and then to ban me from the restaurant after I had the gall to insist on an apology from him. Although the money was refunded, my silence respecting this disgrace of a restaurant will not be bought. Poor service and a refusal to take accountability for it has to have a consequence. The quality of the food has gone downhill right along with the quality of people who work for this establishment. I no longer see any reason to return to this place, even if I was given an opportunity to do so for free. Burger King or McDonald's would have been a better choice for a meal. At least there the prices are in line with the quality of the product and the staff in such places is generally courteous. Stay away from Cooper's Cave Ale Company and take your money elsewhere. You'll be glad that you did so.
If I could give no stars I would! Worst experience in a restaurant ever! Got seated without a waitress for 25 mins, waited 15 to get drinks, ordered prime rib, well what I thought was prime, was pot roast meat, ice cold mashed potatoes, couldn’t eat anything. Gave it back to the waitress and then dealt with a horrible manager that just didn’t care! If you value your time and money don’t go there!
The dinner I ordered appeared to come from the freezer section of most any super market store. It was burnt and so crusty it was hard to cut and harder to eat. The wait staff was questionable at best. Almost as if it was a bother to take orders or answer questions. Go elsewhere if you want a good meal and a pleasant experience.
Food is expensive the thing that I don't like is there are no free drinks refills. First time we went we never asked if drinks were free because most places are, when we got our bill there was 18.00 in ice tea.... thought that was alot of money. Food price are awesome little high i wanted a salad and it was almost 19.00. Probably won't go back.
I ordered 2 orders of sweet potato fries by phone. I was told 20 mins, so 6:02pm. My daughter was inside checking in at 6:07, & was told it would be a few mins. Another 20 mins later, our cold & soggy fries were finally grabbed from behind the bar (within her sight the whole time.) I understand busy. It's Mothers' Day. That's why we got pick-up instead of dining in. That's why we gave an extra 5 mins leeway. Another 5 would have been fine. Every business is short-staffed these days, but a manager or owner should be floating around to ensure prompt handover of hot pick-up food. I wanted to go in to get a fresh replacement, but we were already late for our Jersey Mike's subs pick-up, which included a hot sub. (The subs were waiting for us and the hot one was kept hot.) I expected more from Cooper's Cave.
Sat there over an hour and watched the tables outside that had people in them go, then we proceeded to watch every table that came in after us receive their food before us. When we asked what was going on after being there over an hour we were told half our order was done. ( 1 burger, chicken tenders, fries, and a salad). We opted for to gos because we had plans, no discount or anything still paid full price and didn’t even eat meal because having to drive. Horrible experience.
Great food every time... well it was. Last time I went I took my family and my son was halfway through his meal and had to use the rest room. I was concerned because he is autistic and never likes to use public restrooms. later on that evening he had bad indigestion and diarrhea. To top it off I asked for gluten free bread on my burger and they brought it out on white bread. I have celiac disease! Won't be back again unfortunately. Waitresses were super friendly tho.
If I could give this place a zero I would. I placed an order for pick-up. As I'm waiting near the bar for my food to come out, the kitchen door swings open and I can clearly see the guy standing there making a salad. I watch as he digs his bare hands into a container of lettuce and then wipe his wet hands off on his pants leg. He then dumped a baggie of chicken strips on the lettuce and rearranges them....again with his bare hand. Every container for the remaining ingredients was dug through with this hand that he is wiping off on his clothing. I asked the waitress, "doesn't your kitchen staff wear gloves?" I told her what I had been watching. She told me, " I will say something to the kitchen manager". She did, and I know she did because he came to the window in the door and shot me a look of disgust for having dared say anything about this dislpay. She then said, "we tell him all the time but he doesn't listen to us girls." This clearly is not a one time event. I read a review where a lady was speaking of her severe dairy allergy. Out of curiosity I checked the menu to see if any of the salads contain nuts. Yep..some do. This behavior could kill somebody. I would also like to add this. I am a mother to a cancer survivor. There was a time when this egregious sub-par practice could have had serious consequences for my family and I can't be the only one. I am disgusted and will never be back.
Order a med rare steak was med if not well done and a mild crispy chicken wrap and there was no sauce at all ..65 dollars for the worst meal yet
We visited Cooper’s Cave looking forward to a solid meal and some local charm, and while the food overall was quite good in terms of flavor, we unfortunately had a rough experience afterward. Both of us ended up feeling pretty sick, and we suspect the fryer oil may have been old or not properly filtered—it definitely had that overly used taste and heavy greasiness that lingers in a bad way. The service was friendly and the menu had a nice range of options, but one major letdown was the dessert. We grabbed a crème brûlée donut to go, expecting a house-made treat based on how it was described on the menu, and were pretty shocked when we were handed a frozen, pre-packaged donut—literally a Walmart brand still in its wrapper. Definitely not what you'd expect at a restaurant touting handcrafted food. Aside from their ice cream, it seems like none of the desserts are made in-house (and are frozen), which is so disappointing. It’s a mixed bag—some tasty elements, but the greasy aftermath and low-effort dessert really soured the experience. We’d recommend the beer and maybe an ice cream cone, but probably wouldn’t return for a full meal.
Sloppy older looking lady in the back thought my ID was fake, ended up leaving for the night, didnt even come for the drink I came for dessert but her lack of service ruined the vibe 👎
This is my first review ever and it’s going to be long because I feel it’s important. My boyfriend and I went in for come ice cream and he wanted a drink and the waitress we had looked at his ID and left. We assumed it was fine and then another woman came to our table and demanded to see his ID again, he obliged and she told him she didn’t think it was him. We were both surprised because he is in fact himself lol, and the legal age to drink. He said that it was him and he even showed her credit cards with his name on it and his social media with his pictures and name. She became very rude with us and unprofessional. My boyfriend told her he didn’t want the drink anymore because she ruined the mood and she replied from across the room with multiple other customers in the restaurant “I wouldn’t have poured you one anyways because you look 10.” I also work in the service industry and the way she handled things were in very bad taste. Maybe if you can’t tell a real ID from a fake one you should invest in a scanner. 0/10 experience
Gravy tastes like it came out of can. Pan seared shrimp had no cook marks and was cold. Tortillas were served out of a package not even thrown on griddle to warm up. Also burger was a frozen made patty. Yuk Fries tasted fresh and crispy. Cole slaw was fresh. Beers were good. Blueberry ale with stout. Black and blue was perfect. Blueberry ale straight is fabulous Too bad I won’t go back. Waitress questioned warming a Taco shell. Did not like poor attitude.
