Cannot say enough about Farmacy. Fantastic downtown restaurant that truly cares about their food, atmosphere, drinks and people. The girlfriend and I have gone plenty of times but included it was our anniversary this time around and not only did the waitress congratulate us she brought complimentary ice-cream and a plate to remember the moment. Never have I had a restaurant go this far.
Went to farmacy for the first time for my wife's birthday and had one of the best restaurant experiences we've had in years! I made a reservation online which made it easy to ensure we got a table, highly recommend. Noted when placing the reservation it was for a birthday and the hostess wished my wife happy birthday as we entered which was nice. Food was FANTASTIC; the sourdough is amazing with or without the whipped butter. We shared a pork shank pot pie and a braised pork cheek with polenta and an apple slaw. For me the pork cheek, which was fork tender, and the polenta were the stars of the show, but both were amazing. Capped off our culinary experience with the hanger steak, cooked a beautiful medium rare. Our server noted we were sharing and had the crew split the steak for us which was another nice service point. They have a nice cocktail/wine/beer menu, the new jersey mai tai was delicious. Last but not least was what I believe was apple cinnamon ice cream with a candle, also delicious! Overall was a great experience with great food and service, will definitely be back and highly recommend!
Went for Valentine’s Day dinner during the first rush and you wouldn’t believe how seamlessly the place runs. All of the chefs working in unison, maintaining a positive attitude and atmosphere, flying the food out fast and with ease. Fantastic quality of ingredients and even better finished product. Wait staff is so personable and accommodating, showing experience and skill. There isn’t enough stars to give this place. Will continue to return
This is the best restaurant I’ve ever been to by far. So welcome and respectful, incredible food, and amazing dessert. I wish I could eat here every single day.
Great food, the chicken tacos and hanger steak were excellent. We had the fontina cheese and sourdough bread as appetizers, both were good. Our bartender was attentive and the vibe was relaxed.
1st time experience on 12/11/25 and everything about our time here was excellent. Staff was welcoming when we arrived without a reservation. The service, drinks and food was everything we hope for when we venture out to a restaurant: we'll balanced and delicious! We'll be back soon and be sure to make a reservation for our next meal together, thank you!
I went for restaurant week and did the food and wine pairing. I was very impressed with the quality of the meal, especially for the price. The dessert was a fruit punch ice cream with coconut flakes on the cake and a salted caramel sauce. It was very creative and I loved the different flavor profiles. Seating at the chefs counter is available which is nice.
I was expecting some delicious selections, but it exceeded in several ways. First the dishes were hearty but subtle and flavorful. Service was attentive and kind. The drinks, including mocktails were clever and tasty. Gladly will return soon.
This place is a culinary gem! Fantastic food, both menu choices and quality. The menu changes every few days so the culinary delights you'll experience are different every time you visit. Service was very attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. Taylor was one of the best servers we've had in a long time. Everything is made fresh daily, and if you sit at the Chef's Counter, you'll see it first hand. You'll also get great descriptions of everything from the awesome Chefs and maybe get to try something extra too. I recommend using the reservation system on their website and specify your seating preferences. You can choose from the Chef's Counter, the bar, a high-top table, a low table, or an outdoor table (weather permitting). We also appreciated them asking about food allergies on the reservation system too and they verified it when we arrived. We were so impressed with the unique menu options that are offered in the appetizers, small shareable plates, main courses, desserts, and drinks. We are already planning on coming back Sunday for brunch and know we'll be back again soon for dinner.
My wife and I came here for our anniversary dinner. We sat at the Chef's Table (essentially a bar looking into the kitchen) and enjoyed the Feed Me option - a tour de force of the chef's favorite dishes, tailored to your likes and appetite. The selection was awesome! Varied, fresh, local and creative. We had so much fun sampling the surprise dishes that flowed endlessly from the talented and friendly chefs working in front of us. The kitchen staff even signed one of their signature vintage dishes with a happy anniversary message for us to take home. Such a great hospitality experience!
It’s start with the window, and three chefs, waiving at you with smiles. As we walked in we were greeted, and sat at the kitchen bar. The open kitchen is the stage for a food experience that is sure to wow you. The simple menu, which changes daily, is just that simple, easy to read. Act one: Apps and share plates. We started with a few apps, and the star of the first act of delicious food was the homemade sourdough bread with two whipped butters, both infused and topped with a sprinkle of pink salt. The oysters were fresh and delicious, and the beef tartar was topped with fried potato skins for a nice balance. Act two: a tomahawk steak for two, cooked perfectly, some mushroom pasta with homemade pasta, and carnitas tacos. The tomahawk stole the show here, with a truly delicious balance of char from the grill, sear from the finish in the pan, sliced perfectly and finished with a sprinkle of the perfect amount of salt. The pasta was perfectly al dente, and the tacos were a nice side treat if you needed a quick break from the from the meat sweats. Act three: Dessert! It was playful, and the homemade ice cream, is out of this world. Thyme Ice cream, who would’ve thought, green tomato sorbet, over a pressed watermelon, rolled in pistachio and topped with balsamic glaze, absolutely. The triple chocolate family affair, was delightful, and the funfetti warm dough, spoke to my inner child. My only regret is not taking more pictures, and getting another mocktail. The one mocktail I had was well executed and perfectly designed for us folks that don’t drink, but still want something exciting to drink while dinning. The entire time we dinned we chatted with the chefs, got to know the story, and the whimsy of it all, from the mismatched plates, to the unique and playful decor, this was a show, a spectacle, and it was phenomenally entertaining, and filling. Can’t wait to do it again some time, 100% worth the drive from Albany.
I really enjoyed this restaurant! We started with the oysters and also got the sourdough with whipped butter (very cool that they bake their own sourdough daily! it was super fresh). We got the burger with a side of dill pickle aioli - I’d come back for the aioli alone… unreal - and the hanger steak. Both were fantastic! The atmosphere was really great and everyone there was friendly and welcoming.
Stopped in for dinner. Everything was excellent! The braised pork cheek was definitely the highlight of the meal. Also had the cast iron carrots, hanger steak, and French onion burger. The house dressing in the arugula salad was so unique and tasteful. Everything was seasoned to perfection and not too salty!! Fries were probably some of the best around. Service was pleasant and all staff very friendly. Will be back!
Hands down best food in the area!!! Everything is amazing and super fresh!! Do yourself a favor and have dinner here. You won’t regret it. The food has so much flavor and depth, yet, is simple and delicious. If you haven’t been here, you’re missing out. Best in the entire Nation on freshness, atmosphere, love, energy, vibes, all around perfect!! 👌 💛
Our favorite restaurant in Glens Falls. The rotating menu is always interesting and delicious. Great beverage selection, and service is always really great and accommodating. My husband has celiac disease and they were very thorough and knowledgeable. Great walkable location in the downtown and easy parking nearby.
Delicious food!!! My wife and I shared 4 medium plates and there was more than enough for the both of us. All of the food was so good, I think the winner was the pork shoulder with the polenta. All of it was very fresh. Service was super friendly and Heather clearly knew the menu inside and out and was able suggest things to our liking. Cocktails as well were crisp and clean, delicious flavors and very creative! Would definitely stop in again!!!
The food is like no other! Fresh and local food prepared daily from scratch. Variety is a given with the regular menu changes. The food is simply delicious! It really doesn't get much better than this. To top it off the staff is warm, friendly, and welcoming. 🙏 Anyone in the area looking for a combination of fine dining, health, and local experience- this is the stop for you. Highly recommend 👌 A+++ Keep up the good work and amazing dining excursions!
Went for oysters as they are one of a handful who serve raw oysters (and only one of two who serve them properly garnished) and was pleasantly surprised across the board with how on point everything was. We had the raw oysters, baby kale and peach salad, burger and hanger steak chimichurri with the donut and chocolate torte for dessert and it was all fantastic. The raw oysters were properly garnished with mignonette, horseradish and lemon wedges. The baby kale salad had chèvre cheese, toasted hazelnuts, roasted peaches in a vinaigrette and it was fantastic. Tasted like peach pie ironically. The burger was the best burger - charred properly, proper temp and the hanger steak was also cooked to proper temp and fantastic. The desserts were also incredibly on point with the donut ice cream and streusel and the chocolate torte with molasses ice cream with a burnt meringue. Went back a second time two nights later it was so fantastic. Service was also incredibly attentive and pleasant which is very appreciated and makes the dining experience complete.
Last night I had dinner for the first time at Farmacy in Glens Falls. I chose Farmacy after parking directly in front the night before on my way to dinner at a neighboring restaurant. The outside looked so inviting that I went and looked them up online to check menus and what the interior looked like, because I was choosing a location for a first date and I don’t eat beef, pork or poultry. Honestly, in this day and age, I am shocked that it can be challenging to order vegetarian or even seafood (minus pork or beef or poultry added to it) at restaurants. But it still can be. So I read menus before trying any new place. Farmacy is a small, independent, farm-to-table place with a daily changing menu. The menu is not huge, but contains a variety of both vegetarian AND vegan options. Farmacy’s website strongly suggested making a reservation for dinner, so I reserved for two at The Chef’s Counter. Turns out The Chef’s Counter is what I was seeing inside the front window when I parked the night before. The kitchen is right there, in the front window and you can sit at the bar, right there. GENIUS. It’s pretty fantastic. And it was the PERFECT spot for a first date. Glens Falls is not a particularly “diverse” little city. So I was trying to choose a spot where we would be comfortable as a “diverse” couple (age, ethnicity/race etc etc). Farmacy was, actually, great. I arrived a little early and was immediately greeted and seated. By the time my date arrived I had already told AJ (the chef) and our waitress that I was on a first date and we met on a dating app. They seemed excited. (LOL) AJ: “You look familiar.” Me: “That was me parked directly outside the window last night in my orange Hellcat…” When my date arrived I was already drinking a PINT SIZED gin and tonic made with a lovely gin distilled next door in Fort Anne (who knew??). He ordered a beer and then asked me if was going to eat anything….oh sir. We are going to EAT. Turns out he eats more like a small, songbird and I eat like the T-Rex who was the ancestor of geese.. Me: “I haven’t eaten all day. In PREPARATION for this!” Remember back in the ‘80s when we girls were NEVER supposed to eat in front of a guy? Girls were always just ordering like a side salad and then picking at it. May those days die in a raging conflagration and never rear their ugly, toxic heads again. Look I came to eat. I am a grown woman and I have appetites. Being fully onboard with that is a pre-req over here… The menu is broken into Small, Medium and Large plates. Every section contains Vegan options and/or items that can be made Vegan. My goal, any time I eat out, is to try as many different things as possible We ordered from every section, including dessert. Everything we ate was excellent, fresh, with complex flavors. As in I would eat it again. But I want to talk about the Carnitas Tacos. I love tacos. Is there someone who doesn’t?? But I skipped right over these because, you know, meat. But then I got chatting with AJ and he said he could make me vegetarian or Vegan tacos, whatever I wanted. So you KNOW I ordered vegetarian tacos. So, the menu description I included here bears no resemblance to the tacos I got. They were OFF THE DAMN CHARTS. That. Masa. Shell y’all. Made in house, every day. Pure joy, FULL of all sorts of veg and salsa and queso fresco. OMG. Good people. Good vibes. GREAT food. I will be back! Regarding my date: It’s been a WHILE since I’ve been on an actual date. (Covid was not helpful.) I will just say that perseverance pays off. Pretty freaking great date. We wound up comparing our “badges” on Audible… And it was HIS idea! Pictured: housemate sourdough from 13 yr old starter (OFF the charts!); Grilled Asparagus (fantastic): Beet and Black Bean Sausage (!!); Blistered Shishito Peppers (I'd eat these all day); Salmon Belly Tartare (I ate it with a spoon, live a savage!); Fried Chicken Sandwich with house fries (HUGE, excellent fries); Donut (the best fried dough you've ever had!); Vegan Tollhouse (with vegan ice cream!!).
As this is priced as a top notch restaurant the benchmark is set appropriately. Enjoyed the atmosphere which is non-stuffy, fun and relaxed. The room’s original decoration has been well preserved; the kitchen is open and the room spacious. Food was mixed. Salads good with a good leaf selection; hangar steak good as the quality of meat was excellent but the linguine was swimming in a cream sauce that overwhelmed the dish. Wine selection by the glass was also pleasing. Service was OK but a little inattentive at times. The house bread is recommended and is made on site. Overall we would go again and recommend it to visitors.
To start, drinks were really the best part of this place. Good flavors going on that are outside the box. Kudos to the bartender here. Food wise, everything was lacking seasoning. Pasta water needs salt, the corn tortillas were doughy and bland, the braised proteins need to be seasoned. Sourdough is good, but the butter was a little sweet for me with the strawberry. The best thing outside of the bread was the pickled shallots and the jam that came with the cheese. Skip this place and save your money.
Got carry out this evening that cost 150.00 for a loaf of sourdough that was the size of a small cantaloupe, shishito peppers-appetizer, shaved fennel salad and 3 orders of "halibut cheeks." We called and asked about the portion as we were not familiar with "Halibut Cheeks." We were told that they were 6 to 8 oz. of protein which is a standard size portion of fish for an adult. We get home and open the box to find a 32. entree the size of a half dollar! These "Halibut Cheeks" are on dry rice cakes the size of 50 cent pieces. It's a "small plate" not a "large plate" as they have it listed for a small child. We were visiting the area and with friends who frequent this establishment. We called the establishment and spoke to a manager, named Carter, who wouldn't clearly identify himself when we asked several times to speak to a manager. He finally said he was a manager. He was a manager who clearly knows nothing about management. We were given the run around on the phone and Farmacy GF didn't offer to do anything about the situation. Just an attitude of "Oh well" was what we received. We then asked to speak to the owner, AJ, who refused to get on the phone to try to rectify the situation as well. The food that we received from Farmacy GF was overcooked- the two quarter sized pieces of Halibut were dry and totally OVERPRICED. The avocado mousse tasted like green mayonnaise. The fennel salad didn't fill a salad bowl when taken out of its to go container. If you plan to have "dinner" at Farmacy GF you should save your time and money and go to any other establishment you can! The Owner, AJ clearly doesn't care about his patrons or his reputation!
