Despite opening during a pandemic they remain open, kind spirited and serve delicious food. It was refreshing to have Asian cuisine with great quality and to be greeted with a friendly demeanor. I'll be returning soon

We are here from out of town for the holiday and got takeout here Christmas Day. This was honestly the best Chinese takeout we’ve ever had. Everything was so delicious and fresh. We really loved the sesame shrimp, garlic chicken and especially the hot & sour soup. Definitely recommend!!

House Chen is the Pinnacle of take-out Chinese food. Their sauces are delectable, dumplings made in house, and service is phenomenal. Their house lo mein is spectacular. You will not regret these reasonably-priced delicacies.

It didn't ruin the meal or anything but it just felt like I was eating kelp. That's just personal preference anyway it was still fantastic. And the eggs were literally perfect.

Heard about this place quite a few times. Got hungry in Gloversville and thought I’d try my favorite things wontons, pork fried rice. I used the website and it was a breeze prices didn’t hurt my eyes and when you walk in this place the service never has you wait long and are the nicest people. Back to the food, it was put in the bag right off the flame. Wontons were perfectly crispy and filled with meat. Not cheapening out like other reviews are saying. And the rice was really good too, but thier garlic sauce (also boiling which is good) was to die for.👍👍

1st time my son & I had ordered take out here. We both had bourbon chicken, pork fried rice & an egg roll. Best fried rice I've had at a Chinese restaurant in ages! Veggies are fresh, rice cooked perfect not starchy & stuck together. Bourbon chicken was delish, few hard pieces here & there but no biggy. Egg roll was too greasy for me, so I wrapped it in a paper towel, it helped?Oil makes a difference if it's close to being eighty sixed. From Brooklyn & parents owned a German-American restaurant in the surrounding area 50+ yrs ago. So I'm fussy lol Would've given a 5 ***** but didn't bc of egg roll. I'll be back to try something new!

This has been my go to for Chinese food since I moved out in this area but for the past month they been closed is there any updates of when there gonna reopen or are they permanently closed????

They r very reasonably priced. Their wings r great!! They r courteous. And has never failed to get an order totally correct. Even with all the special requests we have. We have tried n liked veggie fried rice. Bourbon chicken I have had more tender. But other family members liked it. Lo mein noodles with beef were fine. Kung Pao chicken was very good..but next time no peanuts, please!! Update: Quite a while since this 1st review. The Mix Veggies were fine. Cooked perfectly.The gal behind the counter was still getting orders 100% correct. However totally disappointed in the chicken wings. Scarcely close to the the quality or fresh taste, once delivered. Perhaps they are using a new supplier. Not very good on the wing front...at least that was our current experience. Not happy with the Spring rolls. They seemed to be lacking any flavor. And the wrap seemed to have a strange oder. Perhaps a result of the oil. We generally like this place. But disappointed in the food quality this time around. :(

Staff is super friendly. Would rate it more 3.5 than a 4. Came here on a Friday night for take out. Ordered combo plate of boneless bbq spare ribs with pork fried rice, large wonton egg drop soup, and pork lo mein with pork fried rice. First off there were only four wontons in the whole large egg drop soup. Normally when you order this, Chinese places give you so many wontons. However the soup was tasty as is. The pork lo mein was good, typical taste. The spare ribs were tasty and larger cut than were used to. The pork fried rice needed help. Needed more seasoning, and the peas tasted a tad stale. The combo plates each come with an app and we both had crab Rangoons. Those were great! Perfect amount of cream cheese and not greasy like you would typically see.

They forgot to put the soda, and also didn't include any plastic utensils for pick up. I found out 20 min later when I got back to hotel. Among the dishes, the shrimp fried rice had only 5 tiny shrimps in it, which was the worst shrimp fried rice ever I had.

Since it changed ownership the food is not as flavorful as it used to be, quality seems to have gone down as well as the taste.

Not bad, good comfort fast food but Asian Delight and Mt Fugi are better.

I ordered chow mean and never got any noodles just vegetables and pork kinda disappointed the food tastes good tho

Was disappointed during my first (and last) trip to House Chen. Stopped in on a Sunday to order a lunch special. Was told that it's not available on Sunday. Nowhere on the menu is this stated. I pointed this out, but whoever was at the counter either didn't understand, didn't think it mattered, or didn't understand. The reason I'm writing this review is that they mass-mailed their menu out a few days ago, and guess what?, still no mention of any restrictions. Food was okay.... not great, not horrible. Nothing inside the building appears to have been updated since the Nixon Administration. Every new business is entitled to their growing pains, but the long-term successful businesses listen to their customer complaints and make changes accordingly. Will I go back? Nope.

The food was decent, but made my partner very ill afterwards. Edit: decided to give this place another try, review went down a star. The flavors were all wrong, tried a variety of dishes. The egg rolls literally oozed oil.

Why are there peas in my rice? General tso is supposed to be spicy but it was only sweet. Egg roll left a greasy aftertaste in my mouth even after putting duck sauce on it. Duck sauce was the best thing I had for dinner. Sorry for the bad review but the food was terrible 😔. Never again.

The employees are the rudest people l have ever encountered. I was there to pick up 2 orders for door dash and the lady would open the window and yell across the restaurant and slammed the window while I was in the middle of asking her a question.

I called an the lady that answered was in a terrible mood, I just asked her if she can deliver out near my location. Asian Delight was in a way better mood!

This place can not handle the basics, so I worry what goes on behind that tapestry hiding the kitchen. Avoid House of Chen

I wish I could give a zero. Ordered at 5p for a 6p pickup. Showed up at 554p was told it's an hour wait and they would call us when ready. I have called since 640p with no answer. They still have not called at 740p. Very poor service and the female is absolutely horrible.
