Mimosa Bar de Tapas

Yummy food and great atmosphere!! We bought everything we wanted, 7 food dishes, 2 deserts, 2 soft drinks and 2 glasses of wine. We expected it to be well over 100 euro and it wasn’t. The food was so tasty with a great variety. Ewa I think was the name of the person who served us and they couldn’t have been more helpful!

We are on Holidays from Australia and made a last minute booking for a change from pub grub. Wow! so glad we did. It's a beautiful place with a nice buzzy but relaxed vibe. Every dish we had was delicious and generously sized for Tapas servings. Nadia's service was lovely and made it a beautiful evening. Highly recommend.

I found this restaurant while I was trying to find hidden gems. I love the food , drinks , service and everything. Everything about this place is amazing. It’s beautiful, we sat there for hours drinking and the service was heartwarming ❤️ Every dish we order was finger licking good and it isn’t expensive. Best Spanish restaurant in Ireland.

This place is worth a trip to Carlow! Every of plates was so different, delicious and full of flavours! Desserts blow our minds! And the place itself is gorgeous, with the most picturesque garden in this part of the country! And omg this sangria! 😍❤️ Perfect for a romantic date!

Had a great experience at Mimosa Bar de Tapas. We shared five delicious plates with the habanero cheese pot being a standout. Cocktails were lovely and service was excellent. The space is stunning with a gorgeous outdoor area and great vibes. Hard to believe it’s tucked away in Carlow. Definitely book ahead and highly recommend for a fun, tasty night out.

Mimosa is one of the best places to eat at the moment. The experience from start to finish is faultless. Great atmosphere, great music with great service. Excellent value for money. We can’t wait to go back.

The food in Mimosa can't be compared to anywhere else around. The decor literally transports you somewhere else. The staff were nice and friendly, not intrusive. I've been there so many times over the years and there isn't anywhere else that has food like it. .

We've been enjoying the tapas for years. The quality, taste, and service are incredible. We go on a boat trip on the Barrow at least every two years, and this visit is a must. See you next Saturday again.

Very good place to visit. If you are fan of sharing a food and to try lots of well made tapas this is the place where you should go. We waited 1h for a table in waiting room enjoing coctails. After when we got the table we ordered 10 different tapas. All of them were so tasty and nice served. We really enjoyed the night in Mimosa and will go over there again for sure. The girls are very nice and friendly. Atmosphere is cool and relaxing too. Really happy with our visit.

Had a lovely evening last night at Mimosa celebrating our 13yr anniversary me & my partner. Food was so delicious I couldn't pause for photos 🤣. The patè is definitely my favorite dish, I highly recommend trying it. We ordered 12 and out of the 12 we were in love with 10 of them. The only thing i would say is that 2 dishes like the short rib tacos and a lamb dish we ordered were too salty for me and my partners pallet. I am guessing the meat is brined which gives it an absolutely amazing texture but we couldn't eat it as the salt was for us too much. Others however could enjoy it. The meat was tender and presentation was always spot on. This restaurant is just an amazing experience and so much character aswell as intimate. This was my fifth trip to Mimosa and every visit the food, ambience and service have been 5 stars. The staff are always very welcoming and attentive. The menu is creative, varied, reasonably priced and most of all, super tasty! It also has the added advantage of having lots of different areas to eat in both inside and outside. Catriona and her team do a wonderful job, this place is a true gem!!

Absolutely gorgeous food, staff are lovely aswell

To start things off, this place is unreal. We were recommended this place by several people and they all said that Mimosa was the place to go. After getting all the recommendations, we decided to give the restaurant a try and I'm thankful we did. Firstly, it looks small from the outside but when you come in its actually quite big. The vibe in Mimosa is great, it has a personality of its own. The decor is unique and there are some peculiar pieces dotted around the place. Even though its spacious, I would recommend to book a table before coming. It gets very busy very quickly. We got here at about 5.20 (the place opens at 5 o'clock) and it being a Wednesday the place was almost packed and with every other table reserved. The staff are very hard workers. They are **ALL** diligent and on the ball which I scarcely say about any place. Now onto the food. Everything we ordered was brilliant. The flavour, the portions and the taste complimented each other perfectly. The nachos and beef strips were my absolute favourite. Also the dessert was lovely. I ordered the churros since I'd never had them before and what better place to order them then in a Spanish restaurant. It came with caramel and chocolate sauce on the side. They were stunning. My now favourite dessert. Overall this place was a win and if you are ever in Carlow Town I wouldn't be able to recommend this place enough. Everything from the location to the drinks (I ordered the Mango Refresher) were great and I will definitely be coming back.

Excellent service, great food and a lovely outdoor area. They also have gluten free options & a gluten free beer on the menu.

Exceptional ambience. Spacious outdoor with apple trees. Staffs are well behaved. The quantity of the food is bit little compare to price. But its a worth visiting in Carlow town. Will love to have some quality times in weekends.

Yet another wonderful evening at Mimosa! The food is exceptional, and excellent value. We had 2 mocktails (ginless basil smash, gorgeous!), 2 peronis, 6 tapas and a desert; bill was about €75. Service was excellent, attentive but not intrusive, and everyone was very friendly.

We came in with no reservations and been told place fully booked but got us in as we were early enough before 6pm. Service and food amazing and will go again, definitely we'll have reservation the next time.

Had dinner with friends and it was a great experience from start to finish.❤️ The staff were all so friendly from the time we arrived until we left. Our waitress was well trained and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was delicious but we did order too many things (4 options per person) and it was too hard to finish it! The decor was absolutely stunning we felt we were on holidays in a different country. ✨️ We didn't eat in the courtyard but it looked amazing and the weather was great to sit outside.☀️ I will definitely be returning. Can't recommend highly enough

Absolutely Amazing Experience! Mimosa is hands down one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and beautifully designed. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The food? Absolutely phenomenal. Every dish we ordered was flavorful, fresh, and presented with care. You can tell there's a lot of thought put into the menu. Drinks were also on point, and the dessert selection was the perfect way to finish off the meal. Highly recommend Mimosa for anyone looking for a memorable meal, whether it's a special occasion or just a night out. We will definitely be back!

Absolutely blown away by this tapas gem! We popped in last minute as a family and were so glad we did. The food was absolutely amazing – full of flavour, beautifully presented, and plenty of variety for everyone. Even the kids loved it, the food was that alluring the kids tried everything! The service was fab – warm, friendly, and so accommodating. You can tell the staff really care about the experience. The restaurant itself is stunning – every detail of the interior design has been thoughtfully put together to create a beautiful, welcoming space. It turned out to be the perfect spontaneous decision. We’ll definitely be back and have already recommended to family and friends!

Super cosy location for delicious tapas in Carlow. Almost feels like a little Spanish corner in Carlow. Food is delicious just some personal taste limitations but all in all delicious. Atmosphere is great for family dinner, birthday dinner, date etc. I wish our tables was bigger in order to contain the food but still manageable. Service was great as well! Small wait time in between dishes. A little pricey ish but good quality for price.

First time trying this restaurant Was nice enough Put not my for me going forward

A truly lovely place,the lighting is soft and cozy, creating a warm and snug atmosphere. The food is nice, portions are good, and the prices are reasonable. However, the service was very very slow, and some of the staff came across as a bit off-putting. I waited 20 minutes after receiving my food before asking a server about my partner’s food,he said he’d check and come back, but never did. We had to ask someone else in the end. Overall, the food and setting were great, but the service definitely needs improvement.

Have been going to Mimosa now for a few years for special occasions, because, let’s face it, it’s not somewhere you go every week. Today was the most disappointing day we have ever had. Thank goodness for Nicole, she was amazing. The portions have shrunk, despite what you might hear, the quality has definitely slumped but the prices have remained the same. The food was mediocre, at best, my favourite butter board seemed to have shrivelled on the way from the kitchen and the cheese must have done a runner along the way but that’s only one dish. The rest were far below par. The owner, who I suggested to, on the way out, something as simple as going back to the serving the Affagato in the way they used, basically belittled me, and sent us on our way with a wave of her hand and a comment about living in the stone ages. With tip, which we gladly gave to Nicole, we spent €130 on mediocre food and bread, and devil may care attitude. The whole thing was mediocre and not worth the money for a special occasion. What was a fabulous restaurant is now a let me take your money because everyone knows we are good, and good luck. It’s a pity because it really was amazing, now, just a money pit. Shame.

Bit over hyped. It was pretty loud and noisy. Food was ok, but not great. Maybe my expectations very set too high by the previous reviews. For somebody it might be the perfect place, but I don't think I will come again.

This time experience was completely different with the previous one. The food is good & tasty but the service terribly went down to the hill. We waited for 40" for our drinks because they forgot our drinks. We had to go up to the bar and asked then they made drinks. Orders came wrong to table and one of waitress was so rude, she gave us attitude by putting a plate of food with big noise on the table & an eyes. Most of them weren't pay attention on our table, the food came wrong 3 times and again with the attitude when we said that wasn't our order. We were at there on Sunday evening, and it wasn't that busy to be like this. Hopefully this comment will reach the management and hope you will have a solution for future or even re-training your staff. Food is important & so is the service. Good food but terrible service will be a big barrier to keep customers.
