Glad I got to stop in for breakfast before the long ride back to The City. Their home fries are delicious and I love how they do corned beef hash. Definitely coming back to dine again.

Food is amazing, service is always given with a smile and kindness and prices are not bad at all. This place is very popular, so it does get busy very quickly which may mean a long wait, but in my opinion the wait is worth it - unless you're absolutely starving. But even then I'd think about waiting!

Amazing food. Great service! It was so good I ate here 3 times in 4 days .

Very good. This is the best breakfast/lunch place in Greenport. Saturday, July, noon, so of course it was crowded. They ask us to wait a little and then they text us 5 minut prior. It was cool so we could go to the store next door without losing our queue.

The waffles with berries and cinnamon cream were a delightful combination of crispy edges and a soft, airy center. The fresh, vibrant berries brought a burst of sweetness, perfectly complemented by the velvety cinnamon cream, which added a warm, spiced richness without being too heavy. The avocado toast was elevated by the addition of crispy bacon and tangy feta. The creamy avocado paired beautifully with the salty, smoky crunch of the bacon, while the feta added a briny sharpness that rounded out the dish. The combination of textures and flavors made this toast an irresistible savory treat.

Came with my husband for an early lunch with our 7 weeks old daughter. My husband ordered the crab cake eggs Benedict and a beer and I got the egg quesadilla with their special lavender dirty chai latte. Very reasonable price for what you get! You can pay by credit card but tip is cash only.

N

The food was amazing. My daughter had the cookie dough pancakes, the boys split a cinnamon swirl French toast, and Hubs and I had the Cheesey Biscuits. It was one of those meals we'll remember fondly. We're only here for a few days, but we plan to come here each morning for breakfast.

Waiter was nice and attentive. My son had a egg sandwich and I had the coconut shrimp wrap, both were delicious. I tried the Never Been Kissed Latte it was out of this world, forgot what my son had but he enjoyed his. Will be back when in Greenport again.

Delicious. Everything we ordered was fresh, piping hot, and tasty. My 9 year old son is a corned beef hash connoisseur and he said it was the best hash he's ever had. Looks freshly shredded! The menu had a great variety of both classic and unique breakfast and lunch choices. Nice cocktail/drink menu too. Can't wait to come back.

This was my first time in Greenport, and I am happy about my decision to come to this diner. It’s pretty retro with the seating decor, which was pretty cool to experience. The place was clean and there was no dirty table in sight. The server was so kind, he answered questions I had about the menu AND questions about fun activities to do in town. He was patient and have good recommendations. The food was delicious and it wasn’t a long wait to receive food. Even after we were done eating, no one rushed us out. When I paid, I asked the owner more questions about the town and she was more than happy to answer them. Very kind people here. I will definitely be going back!

We were walking around town and looking for a late lunch and came across this family owned business. Compared to other restaurants in the area it was very reasonably priced, good food. Almost like a little dinner.

I was tired, hungry and, worst of all, suffering from Coffee Withdrawal Syndrome (CWS). After an over-night fishing excursion to the East End I stumbled on Crazy Beans thru a Google search. I was not disappointed. If you like your eggs perfectly runny, as I do, order the Huevos Locos Burrito - 3 eggs and a rasher of bacon, and some cheddar wrapped in a flour tortilla - absolutely delicious! The coffee was, just as I needed it to be, served in a cup as big as a swimming pool. Two cups, one complimentary, put my addiction to rest. The place is on the corner of Front & Main Streets in Greenport and sports big banks of spotless windows on both streets letting in beautiful sunlight and a view of this intriguing village. The wait staff, two beautiful sisters, were attentive, bright, and courteous - busy in their morning chores and waiting. If you're in Greenport in need of breakfast and jonsing for your coffee go to Crazy Beans. Friendly atmosphere.

Great place for breakfast, close to everything in town for tourists!

visited summer 2022 Although it looks like a diner from the outside and inside, this place has tons more to offer. They have lots of alcoholic coffee drinks (latte styles), as well as other fun drinks to try. They have all the usual boring diner dishes, plus plenty of more fun dishes as well. Their 'fully loaded homies' (loaded fries) were delicious, and had plenty of toppings to spread around. The food and service was great, and there wasn't a wait at all. Would go again.

Great place for brunch-like meals. The atmosphere is unique; many different items displayed. Food was quick and great. Had a Cuban sandwich; very good. Selection of local (greenport) beers available. Worth the visit in this small town.

Excellent Corned Beef Hash. Fresh and almost certainly homemade. Great place to stop before or after your ferry. Place is funky and eclectic, such as having a variety of coffee mugs rather than uniform ones. Overall, must welcoming breakfast spot I've been to in a long time

Love this place. Eric, our waiter, was so nice and attentive. I got the topanga latte (no chocolate) and it was delicious. I got the crab Benedict with poached eggs, sausage on the side, add spinach. It was soooooo good. One of the best breakfast dishes I have ever had. 5 stars all around.

R

This place is great! We ate breakfast here twice and it was absolutely delicious both times. Very family friendly, quick food, friendly staff. The menu is interesting and unique, and the food is plentiful and tasty. They use North Fork Roasting Co. coffee, which is delicious, and offer lots of fun looking lattes and other drinks.

c
craig johnson

My only complaint is the kids menu is a bit small and the menu choices are a little limited. However that is not deserving enough to lower a 5 star rating. The staff is friendly. The food tastes great. The owner is wonderful. Coffee is a little strong but not bad at all. I give this place 5 stars because they are consistent in the product and delievery. I am a local and eat here often. This is what you can expect from most year round businesses in the area. Nothing but the best.

Wow - the best service and food. Had Amy as my server and she was attentive, gave great suggestions & was so sweet. She is a gem and I couldn’t have been happier with my experience. Not much better than that. The lavender mimosa was lovely’s and the special banana Bailey French toast was the best French toast I have ever had. Must come here in Greenport.

While exploring Greenport with my friend we decided to stop at Crazy Beans for food. She said she had been to Crazy Beans in Stonybrook I was there awhile ago as well. I had a burger and some coffee. I loved both items, the burger was great and the coffee was good too. Definitely a nice spot to eat if you're in Greenport.

Service was great at 8am. Coffee was good, there was no hint of burntness and I could still taste some of the coffee's natural fruitiness. Seasonal cinnamon roll french toast was delicious and portioned well. The apples (green and tart) on top were tasty, but would have integrated better if they'd been cooked a spiced a bit. I'll be back. Second visit the service was still great, and the crab cake Benedict was delicious.

We have been coming to Greenport for YEARS, and never tried out the diner. It was so yummy!! I had the Turkey avocado club, with a pesto Mayo on their seedy/grainy delicious bread. So glad we tried this spot out, we will definitely be back! They close at 3pm so this is definitely your breakfast/brunch/lunch spot. Grab a bar seat at the window and people watch for extra enjoyment!

Cute vintage place with a big variety of food. We had a hard time deciding which dish we would like to try 😂 Food was good and portions were pretty big, I wasn’t able to finish my crab cake eggs benedict.

Crazy beans is such a quaint little establishment. The decor is very old school and it gives off a very warm appeal. The staff were incredibly welcoming and polite. Other than my burger being overcooked, everything else was wonderful. I was a HUGE fan of their Pulled Pork Mac N Cheese and their special lattes :) I look forward to making the trip back out here soon!

Food was WAS UNBELIEVABLY DELICIOUS! Their marble rye had to be the best I've had in quite sometime. Perfectly grilled with soft amount of butter. The Bloody Mary was Fantastic! Spicy and not too salty- homemade flavor not the already mixed blend.

Tommy Hawthorne

Excellent breakfast experience. They were besieged for Memorial Day weekend, but they still got us in after 20 minutes instead of the original 45 we were told. The food was delicious, and it didn't take quite as long as we thought to get it because of the crowd. The Cinnamon Swirl French Toast was amazing and had a cinnamon cream drizzled over which I never had anywhere before, and the Mexican Breakfast bowl was wonderfully robust with flavor. Our waitress Amanda was phenomenal and attentive. This will definitely be a regular spot when we visit!

Peter Montalvo
Peter Montalvo

Probably the only place in Greenport that has everything. Very similar to a diner feel, you can get whatever you would like. I really enjoyed their twist on items. They had a fall menu which was pleasant to consider. We had to try their fried avocados which were in our breakfast wrap. I have never had that before and it was tasty! You can get it as a side as well. The sweet potato tots were very sweet and tasted great with the honey dijon dip This place is a great spot with a very casual feel

Slightly abrupt at the first interaction insisting that the stroller must be left outside. Food was top notch. Coffee decent.

It was so ordinary. I'm not sure if it is freshly cooked, but it was the fastest scrambled eggs, ham, and potato served.

M
Michael Gooch-Breault

It’s a decent diner. Nice servers and very good coffee. Bathroom was clean but overall place looked like it’s got night life and the resulting film. Go early and there may be families with kids and noise - totally fine for me but maybe go elsewhere if you need total peace and quiet.

C
Chris and Alisha Bliss

Fantastic experience! A cozy diner with a hometown vibe. Service was extremely welcoming and friendly. As the menu states, the food didn't come out super fast but the wait was well worth it. The cheesy biscuits were both original and comforting. I would most definitely recommend Crazy Beans.

T

Food was very good. Biggest cup of coffee ever. Servers were attentive and pleasant. Place was old school, we had to fight with our table to keep it level, but what the heck. Just remember it closes at 3 pm.

D
Dennis Handel

Cute, hometown diner feeling. My son loved his breakfast burrito. I had an egg sandwich. The menu had so much more to offer though. Crab Benedict looked really good. The variety of breakfast choices was very broad. I wish I had more time to enjoy the selections.

A
Alison Carroll

I come to Crazy Beans every few months for the fried avocado breakfast wrap-- its really good! On rare occasion, they forget to fry the avocado in it, which really makes it, but usually it's made correctly! I recommend skipping it on a cold day-- the windows are not insulated and the door is constantly letting in cold air as people come and go. It can get uncomfortable. Great in the summer!

K
Kim ForceRoamer

This place had lovely breakfast however the tipping system is only cash or Venmo, be prepared for that! Card is accepted though for meals! Service was quick and easy. The avocado omelet was fresh and delicious. I will definitely return but with cash in hand for tips. That was the only downside.

R
Richard Heiles

Breakfast 2 days in a row. Omelet was great. Corn beef hash the 2nd day was ok. Service was a little slow but decent. It had the feel of a local small town diner, which it is. I definitely recommend going here for breakfast.

W
Whatsa MyName

Very cute luncheonette! The decor was great, service real friendly, food great, perfect location. My only two complaints: while it looks like an old-time diner that has yummy burgers and fries, it doesn't have milkshakes!! Crazy, right? But true. I know it's known for coffee, but do they really need about 100 bottles of coffee flavorings? They could remove some and put a blender in! And also, it's cash tips only, which sucks for the servers since a lot of people don't carry cash nowadays and the place doesn't have an ATM.

J
Jason Millsap

Place is small draws and large crowds. Food a 5 to me for breakfast and specialty drinks. A BIT PRICEY THO.

J
J & A Hillyard

The food was delicious! We ordered takeout and got a Juicy Lucy burger and the cannoli stuffed French Toast. My husband and I both loved the food. I took a star off because I ordered a latte with chocolate, hazelnut, and caramel (fabulous that you may create your own lattes with up to three flavors), but I didn’t end of having a bit of syrup flavor in my espresso and milk drink. I had to add coffee creamer when I got home. I also remember getting a latte here years ago, and it was delicious. I was bummed I didn’t have the same experience. But, we would definitely be back for the food! (Also agree with another reviewer that the sandwiches should come with chips or fries and not just a pickle. My husband really wanted a Reuben but went with a burger due to the added cost.)

Such a cute spot! Felt like being in your kitchen at home! Loved the different mugs... No two were alike! Food was good. I thought the portions were on the smaller side but I guess that's not a bad thing ! Great coffee selection too, lots of options!

Stopped in for a classic BLT (Turkey ) with fries with a cup of coffee — everything hit the spot. The food came out hot, bacon was nice and crispy, and the coffee was fresh and strong. The place has a fun, upbeat vibe with really friendly staff. It gets a little lively when it’s busy, but that’s part of the charm. Great spot to start the morning!

Francis Ammendolea

A good place to get a reasonably priced meal that gives you a lot for your money. The food is excellent, but the service is not the best. The wait staff is slow to take your order, and I didn’t get my drink until after my food had arrived. Same with utensils - had to ask for them when the food came out. Not sure if this was just a one off or if this is just who works there. But the food was delicious with generous portions, so that made up for some service issues. Another thing to watch out for is that while they accept credit card payments, gratuities can only be made in cash - a fact they do not advertise on the door, only at the register, so you’re not likely to learn this until it’s too late. And they charge you a service fee if you pay with a credit card - all things that negatively affected my server’s tip. The food is worth the visit, but they should improve their service.

Tina H

I struggle a bit to write about this establishment. Greenport is a very busy place during the summer season. I went here in March which is the off season. The place was empty. The booth was very small. The booth was not a standard size. In general everything we ordered was just ok. The staff was attentive.

D
DO'BJ

Atmosphere is charming in this high demand, high end diner. Food was tasty, but served luke warm and was definitely sitting for a bit before being brought out. Service was poor. Coffee and water never refilled and when I asked for the bill to pay for eight of us and inquired if it was itemized she was pretty rude in her response. She had mistaken splitting the bill versus seeing it broken out and itemized - simple misunderstanding but her attitude pretty much ruined the meal. I can't say I'd return and wait for a long time to be treated poorly.

a
ashley caputo

Cute retro dinner but staff was pretty rude all around from the front person to waitresses. We waited an hour outside with my 9 month old daughter. They forced me to leave my stroller (they said it was a fire hazard but was pretty nasty about it) didn't give us a high chair and seemed annoyed when we asked for ketchup, syrup and whatever else was needed to eat our meal.

I
ItsThiccChick

Getting the same food item for 3 years now, started off expensive and hiked in price 2 more times. $15.15 for a dry open face biscuit, scrambled eggs and some chorizo. It's suppose to have cheesy gravy too (I should know) and it doesn't. I'm so dissapointed. The staff has always been great and nice and the food is decent when prepared correctly but when you're spending $15.15 on breakfast, I feel like it should be right :(

C
Christine Wedlock

The food was good but the service was not. I cannot have gluten which should've been clear when I asked if they had gluten free bread. When my order was brought over, the French fries were clearly covered in flour. After telling the waitress that I cannot eat them, she just took them away. Did not apologize or offer another option. While we were eating she brought over the check without saying a word and then was very short when my husband was paying for the meal. *update* I decided to give this place another try since there aren't many places for breakfast. I ordered the gluten free pancakes and the corned beef hash and they were both very dry.

J
Joel Reiter

Decent food, but very noisy and always a long wait. Service leaves a lot to be desired. Price point is about average.

Hostess kept talking about following the rules….wear your mask two inches to the table or else you won’t be seated.. but cover design of menu sends out different message.. Overall aside from this badgering.. the burger was good, the bun was fresh and flavorful. The fries were weirdly covered in something not so healthy looking.. my wrap was ok but not worth the cost… there is also a scent of exhaust fumes coming In though a vent.. not sure if I would visit this place again. Maybe just come back and do take out for the burger/ bun.

G
Glenn M

I was looking forward to a great lunch as we drove 56 miles to Crazy Bean with my grand daughters like we have in the past, I was told by the hostess that we couldn’t bring my youngests drink into the restaurant, Okay, I asked the hostess if she could hold it for us, Her answer was no, I asked where can I put it and she shrugged her shoulders and said I don’t know. I said I’m gonna bring it to the table and we will all be ordering drinks anyway and her response was you can’t bring it to the table. The conversation got a little heated but we stayed after I put the drink in the car and had a very good lunch, (always great food). The Hostess was also our server and her mistake after having a snooty attitude was putting a tip on the bill without any beforehand notice usually written on the menu, I would’ve left more tip had she not done that. If anyone in charge reads this please remove her as hostess (don’t wait), she was a good waitress but poor hostess skills. (Hold the drinks at the hostess table, problem solved)

C
Christine “Christine” Caruso

I am not sure why this place is well rated. The breakfast was below average with the bacon, home fries and toast being hard. Seemed like it was from the day before and reheated. The kicker was when the waitress asked if we wanted change expecting a 40% tip.

D
David

I don't normally write a review. The staff is very friendly and ensured all allegery concerns were clear, the atmosphere is awesome. But the prices are simply offensive. On its own, the entree prices are fine. But the price of sides is where I was upset. If I wanted a sandwich, it's in the realm of $13-15, but it doesn't come with any sides besides a single pickle. It's $7 for french fries(one of the cheaper sides, which was honestly the best part of the meal, perfect fries. But for $7.00 they were just a standard sized side), now bringing the total before tax or tip to a minimum of $20.00 for one VERY thinly cut slice of chicken breast on bread with mayo and a slice of cheese with fries... The pricing is criminal. All together, we paid over $40.00 for a chicken sandwhich with fries and cornbeef hash. The food was by no means bad, but for the price I have to give it a one star.

Geo P

I feel like it’s catered more to tourists than it is to the regulars. We’ve been coming here almost every year with the family and this year it was different. The prices were up there but the food wasn’t. I’m not a fan that you can’t put the top on the card. It’s cash only, Venmo, or Zelle. When we first walked in, we were told to sit wherever we wanted. One of the booths were pretty dirty (the seats) so we opted to sit somewhere else. The salt and pepper shakers are cute but pretty dirty as well… I didn’t want to touch them. There was a sign at the bathroom to clean up after ourselves (I mean, it’s common sense…) but alas, the bathroom was disgusting. No hand paper towels to dry hands, garbage all over, and urine on the seat. I ordered the lobster roll for $28.95. The bread weighed more than the lobster did. I’m pretty sure the filling wasn’t event close to a quarter pound. They added lettuce to make it bulky looking. Was it worth it? No. It was smothered in mayo too. My niece ordered the build your own omelette and one of her add ins was feta cheese and it tasted sour. The drinks were good and our waitress was friendly. Sadly, the food and the atmosphere is what is used to be. For the amount we paid, it wasnt worth it.

A
Alicia Kim

Big disappointment! The hostess named Kennedy had a horrible attitude. She was not willing to accommodate seating in this tiny space although the waitress tried to be help us. Totally ruined our appetite! Was not worth being on the waiting list for 45 mins. Most importantly, the food was clearly low quality. The chicken and waffles we ordered had chicken that was clearly frozen and it looked like it had a significantly lower quality than McDonald’s breakfast menu.

A
Andre

The food was not very good. Overcooked fish and chips. To bad I did not make a photo of the dish.

This was truly the worst experience at any restaurant. We ordered take out lunch at the Greenport site. When arriving at the restaurant, we payed for the take out lunch order which was three Gouda sandwiches and one order of French fries. Subsequently, we observed that the hostess picked up our takeout lunch bag from the garbage container, that was nearest to the register,;brought it back to the kitchen; and then brought it back out to us for delivery. When we inquired if that lunch bag was the same bag that had fallen into the garbage container, the hostess told us yes; our lunch bag had fallen in the garbage container. Concurrently, previously, the name that the restaurant used for the order did not correspond to the name provided over the phone. Note. We asked for a refund and a refund was performed. Note. Kindly, we will never go back after this experience. Thank you.

Horrible experience being denied service with my brother and his four month old baby. Just because they wanted to use the stroller. Locals here for years and lifers in the restaurant business. These people need to get a clue we will never go back.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE got there at 10:30am place was half empty no one sitting at counter. Dirty plates everywhere all young kids earning there with obviously little experience...told 1 hour wait short staffed. I asked if we could wait at the counter we were nit in a rush to get our food and some young girl started yelling at me WITH a horrible attitude.....Owners get your act together....WILL NEVER GO BACK MUCH BETTER OPTIONS IN SOUTHOLD VILLAGE LIKE COUNTRY CORNER CAFE FOOD US BETTER AND MORE REASONABLE AND THE WORKERS ARE FRIENDLY AND NICE

The worst service anyone can ask for. We called and were told to be there in 15 mins which we attempted and arrived 5 mins earlier. As soon as we arrive not a table to be delivered empty for 9 patrons who guaranteed payment. Upon entry the hostess with her snooty attitude states “we do not hold a table.” Then why would you tell a group of 9 people to rush over if you will not uphold your end of the bargain? The worst customer service and entitled attitude that should be reassessed by upper management. I am livid and disgusted by such horrible customer service especially when I had 4 of my children with me and had to experience such vulgar behavior. This is not what one needs for a Sunday brunch and for the people of the town to support such behavior, I’m sorry but this needs to be addressed immediately.

We were very disappointed with the pick up service and will NEVER come back to this apparently popular restaurant in Greenport, NY. When my brother went to pick up our order he had fortunately yet unfortunately seen that the waitress had taken our order from the garbage. When he asked her if that was our bag she said yes. He asked to speak to the manager and she said he was not there however she did give him a refund. We have never been treated with such disrespect at any food establishment.

The worst experience ever. I came to this place for 21 years. It's run by teenager, no sense of responsibility, no respect, no sense of customer service. When I complained to the girl who was I paying to her, I told her I am a good tipper but I am not going to leave a tip, a teenager server latino, came aggressively, told me you don't like it go somewhere else... I hope the owner will read this review. I had a brunch for mother day last week-end for the whole family.... What a shame

Just terrible all around. Bad service, bad food and the loudest place ever. Told us 25 mins and then we sat after 2 minutes. Ordered the lobster hash which tasted like hot garbage. The waffle was undercooked and soggy. The syrup is little boxes from restaurant depot. There’s nothing good or original about this place. Cannot understand how it has 4.5 stars

Our bacon was undercooked, when we asked for it to be cooked more it was clearly dumped in fryer and turned into pork grinds. The overall vibe is that they don’t seem to care. I got American cheese on my eggs and the color of this cheese was the same yellow as my scrambled eggs, which is a food mystery even for American cheese. My husband got french toast and he said it was mediocre at best. My coffer was disappointing, and as I sat in the tiny booth observing locals, everyone had 711 coffee in hand, so I am thinking they must have the best coffee in town, which tells you all you need to know about coffee game in town.

Sadly we tried to have breakfast twice the week of 8/10-8/17. Both times we were seated, served water & given menus. Waited 15-20 minutes with our menus closed, no one came for our order. I did notice the wait staff was very chatty with some customers, it seemed like they were familiar with them. After being ignored we left very disappointed.

The service was poor at best. Our server came to us to drop off waters and deliver food and wasn’t seen again until. We had to flag her down to have her take the lobster hash off the table because it tasted horrible. It was as if they used yesterday’s unused lobster and tossed it a skillet with potatoes. My children got a waffle which was very dense and undercooked and French toast sticks that were acceptable only accompanied with heavy dips in the little box of syrup. Very disappointed in this experience, as the Stony Brook location was excellent. Won’t be back.
