Best damn burger we've had in a while!! This is a must-stop for us and should be for you too!! My daughter loved her kids burger and you can't go wrong with the Garlands Basket!!

This spot was recommended to us by a young lady at the CA Welcome Center in Pismo and it didn’t disappoint. It was perfect for kids, very friendly, outdoor & indoor seating, quick and easy parking. Definitely recommend! Thanks for taking care of our family so nicely!

Everything on the menu is great. The prices are also very reasonable. This is in my top 5 burger spots. The staff is very friendly and compitent. They never have got an order wrong. Try out the specials and you won't be disappointed. If you aren't in the mood for a burger the pastrami and Philly sandwich are very good.

Longtime visitor to California Cool Thrift Store next door- so for ever I’ve parked & shopped…today I was hungry for tacos and with the continued road construction, it made sense to stop once vs twice. Clean interior, helpful young man at counter, no tacos. I ordered fish sandwich- surprised by the small side of fries/onion rings and ranch= YUM. The sandwich was BOMB! Toasted soft bun- sauce/tomato/lettuce and 3 fried fish fingers- good to the last bite🏆 looking forward to my next thrift store run to Grover Beach!

Less is better, the star of the show should be the chicken patty. this is definitely one of my go to spots whenever I'm in Pismo!!!

Very casual little place, nice. I got the black bean burger as a vegetarian option and it was very good! It had a strong chilli/cumin flavor that I liked, and I got it with Ortega chilles which was the RIGHT CALL. Sweet potato fries were very cooked - almost overdone, but my partner says they were perfect, so its up to taste ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but be aware if you like them less done.

Amazing atmosphere! I felt so welcomed and food was amazing. I gave such a nostalgic feeling! Would 100% recommend.

Came in for a quick bite while my wife was shopping next door. Just ordered a corn dog and they threw in a drink for free. Cant beat it!

Very laid-back and welcoming burger place! The patio in the back was great for the family and the dog. Lady at the counter was kind and helpful, giving us suggestions. Our large order came very fast. Highly recommend the Garland Basket, Fish and Chips, and the Mac and Cheese Bites. Burger was very juicy and fresh, although the patties were pretty salty. Fries are incredible. Onion rings and fish are good. IMO the mac is a must try, but know that it’s quite filling. There is also a small and dark bathroom, with passable cleanliness.

Great service. Good food. Ok prices and portions. I’m for out of town but I would come back to try something else. We had a burger, chicken strips and fried zucchini and pickles.

It's a burger joint with some really good burgers. We had a big crew of about 18 kids and adults so it took the 2 people awhile to get all the food. But they did it with a smile and the food was good. I had a double cheese burger with everything including bacon.

They even gave me some fries and a couple of onion rings on the house. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars across the board is because they didn’t look like they were open at first. I saw the back door open so I went in. The lights in the kitchen were low. But the young man that took my order was very respectful when speaking with me and answering my questions. I am happy the sandwich was better than I have had there before. I will be going back.

Settled on the pastrami sandwich chili cheese fries. The pastrami was the best this side of Brent's Deli. Served like a proper pastrami sandwich with just mustard and pickles on a roll. I recommend the half order of chili cheese fries it serves two.

End of January 2021, covid requirements being followed. Shakes were awesome and so were the Fries and Onion Rings. Chili Size and Chili Dog was scrumptious with lots of cheese. Halibut fish and chips was overcooked but ok. Steak sandwich was nothing special. Good value for the money. Employees masked, courteous and prompt.

We were looking for a hole in the wall restaurant and we found this! It was very good. They have mac and cheese bites!!! So good. Highly recommended. And the outside patio is very nice.

It's a cute little place and the staff is super nice. Food is not worth the price though. $17 for a cheeseburger made of low quality meat and some fries. I'd rather just go up to In-N-Out to be honest.

WAY OVER PRICED! just for a hamburger or cheeseburger is like close to $20 it's ridiculous! food was good places with a little run down atmosphere was chill and service was great very laid back but get your pocketbook out if you want to eat here for sure!

Got the donut burger and it was good. Not a 5/5, but still good and better than I thought since it isn't common to have a donut burger. I would rate 3.5 stars if able. I am strict with my burger ratings because I try a lot in a lot of states. Onion rings were good. Their ranch is homemade and better than the usual ranch you're used to.

This has been a great place to get milkshakes for quite a while. Unfortunately, today we discovered that while the milkshakes are fantastic the actual food is inedible. The fries we ordered were so salty nobody could eat them. Very disappointed.

I was so holding back on leaving this review for this place but I finally made up my mind and here it is. Mind you, I have been coming to this spot for YEARS because it was very delicious and affordable. Lately, I’ve watched it go down VERY VERY badly. Not only with service but the food also. Don’t get me started on the prices either. 10 pieces of fries, 3 onion rings and a small burger $26 dollars!!!

This place could use some updating and be a little more clean. Paid over $10 for the cheeseburger very thin frozen patty...although it was tasty and veggies were fresh.... no fries or a coke included. Too expensive for what it is.

Been going to Garland’s for many many years thought we would swing by when we were in the area and very disappointed in the burger. They used to use a seasoning that included pepper, which made the burgers awesome this to me tasted just a regular burger you can get it any takeout disappointed.

Last time we came to Pismo we had a great experience eating at other places, I love chilly fries and we ended up here out of convince we were at the gas station right across the street. Anyways, we ordered a bunch of food. My daughter got a plain hamburger. I got the recommended, which is the Western burger. And I was told only if we're gonna get a basket with it or something of that nature and it came with a drink. I'm assuming it was supposed to go on the price which I didn't get anyways while I was there. I really wanted to try, they're fish and chips. My wife ordered a cheeseburger and some.Yeah fries and onion rings The food was not all that appealing. Especially the chili cheese fries, they were almost black in colored, which kind of threw me off, but whatever and they had an okay flavor and I continued to eat when the fish and chips finally came, I started eating that instead and uh. I don't know if that's how the fish and shoes was supposed to taste. It had more of a bitter or tasteless taste to it. Anyways, on the drive pack home, which is 3 almost 4 hours in total. My stomach started to hurt and add. Around 5 AM after having a weird dream and fever all night. I ended up throwing up all the food that I had consumed, starting with the fish and chips and I also have the runs. I'll be going to my family doctor tomorrow. Uh, to determine if I have food poisoning or not. My stomach is still in a lot of pain. I have fever and My head hurts and then occasionally, like right now. As I'm talking, because I'm using Texas speech or speech to test test whatever I'm having pain, guys stuff moves through my bells. I'm sorry for the negative review. I really don't like leaving negative reviews at restaurant. S, especially family, owned ones. The people there we're very nice, but I'm suffering right now. Greatly.

ordered the fish and chips, biggest mistake. 1, the fish is frozen and obviously not fresh or made there. 2. I have food poisoning because of said fish . I don't live around here, I live all the way in the AV and came to have a chill day with my family at the beach but now I'm so sick I can barley go to work. don't get the fish, not only am I disappointed that the fish is frozen, but the fact I got sick from it. that's what pisses me off.

lused to be a fan of Garlands, having lived nearby when they were in Pismo and dined there frequently. Unfortunately, my family experienced food poisoning from eating there, which led to a week-long illness. My son woke up at 1 a.m. with severe vomiting and cramps. Although this location has been a staple, l'm disappointed to say that I can no longer dine here due to this unfortunate experience. This would be the G.B. location. I hate to think of Garlands giving my family food poisoning, it was really, really bad. We were all so sick and my poor son seemed to of got it the worse. Unfortunately I cannot ever eat there again and it took me along time before I could eat onion rings again. Such a shame!!

Food may have been good but I only got to try it after 50 min waiting for food. Arrived for pick up and food was ready but it took them 30 min to figure out a mistake they made when they charged me for someone else's food. Simple math would have solved it I was ready to pay but it seemed to really stump them. Apparently it happens pretty frequently. Burger was not very good again it could have been that it was cold same goes for grilled cheese.

The hot dog tasted horrible,it had a bad aftertaste had way too much ketchup on it. The hamburger meat for my 2 cheeseburgers were paper thin! The tea watery tasting, no flavor. Spent $70 on a bad meal,very disappointed ☹️
