We didn't have enough stomach for everything we wanted to try. The place has a very comfortable atmosphere, outdoor seating, and is quite spacious because they have tables all over the plaza. The service is excellent, very attentive and friendly. The food is 10/10, with a rustic flavor but without having to leave the city. However, for those who can't handle spice (guilty as charged!), order the red chilaquiles; the green ones are spicy (just a little, but enough to make them a bit of a challenge 🥲). The tlacoyos are delicious; I recommend ordering them with a cheese crust and stew.
Very good food, the service was awesome and fast, people are nice.
A friend and I went; this place had been popping up on Instagram for a while, and I added it to my list of places to visit, and it was accepted! The atmosphere is incredibly relaxed, and the owners (whose story of how they started is interesting) provide excellent service. They are very friendly and explain everything, and you can even see them cooking. We ordered French press coffee from Veracruz; they have several options, and it was delicious and piping hot. For breakfast, we had tlacoyos, one yellow and one blue. Personally, I much preferred the blue ones. They were simple, and the cream they put on top was delicious! The touch of pico de gallo was a real treat. Later, we ordered the sweet bagel, which I loved because it wasn't too sweet, and that touch of cheese was perfect! 👌🏻 Haha, and the bread was so soft. Then we ordered the sweet bagel. I loved it because it wasn't too sweet, and the touch of cheese was amazing! 👌🏻 Haha, and the bread was so soft. The homemade jams they serve at the table are delicious, accompanied by "birote fleiman" bread. I would definitely swap that bread for a savory, more golden roll, typical of Guadalajara, although you're not going to eat that, haha. We will definitely return, and I'll bring my children.

Great last minute spot that ended up being awesome for our breakfast before leaving Guadalajara. Our group all had the Chilaquiles served on a skillet that looked small but was enough and very satisfying. We asked for some hot sauce and the owner customized one for us on the spot, it ended up being the best we had on our two week trip to the Mexican Bajio. Can’t recommend it enough and we’ll definitely be back when we return to this awesome city.
Great service, and food, friendly and casual spot, treated me great while I was in town. thanks.
Check out this amazing hot skillet breakfast and blue corn quesadilla! Served with a pot of French Press and some bread. We walked here from our Air BNB in Providencia and had a really nice time dining on the patio. We were able to speak a mix of English and our mangled Spanish in progress!
Having breakfast at Desayunito de Santa Tere was a very pleasant experience. Everything was delicious: tlacoyos, pancakes, hot chocolate, and coffee, with generous and well-served portions. The food tastes homemade, and the service is warm and friendly. Highly recommended for enjoying a good breakfast in the neighborhood. Fernanda is an excellent waitress. 😀
We found this place on Google Maps and decided to give it a try, but our experience was a bit of a mess. We arrived and waited for a table for about 10–15 minutes (there were six of us), which is normal. Once seated, they took our order without any problem, and the drinks arrived fine. The trouble started with the food. Mine came with scrambled eggs, and they were a bit undercooked. The first three dishes (chilaquiles) didn't even come with beans or bread. Then there were two more dishes missing: one was a tlacoyo, and they told us they were out of the filling and asked if they could replace it. We agreed, but then they came back saying they did have it after all, which was unnecessary and only delayed everything further 🫠. When the complete dishes finally arrived, there was only one serving of beans for everyone, and they were cold. The pancakes were incomplete because one was undercooked, and the one they did bring was also undercooked (literally 😬). The tlacoyo had undercooked masa and the filling was spicy, even though we'd been told it wouldn't be. We ordered extra bread and a soda: the soda took forever to arrive and we had to remind them twice, and the bread never came. The waitress was friendly and attentive, but unfortunately, the service wasn't as fast as the food. Hopefully, they can improve their kitchen coordination and timing, because the place has potential, but this time the experience wasn't the best.
I agree with the people complaining about the slow service. Honestly, the waiters are overwhelmed. The food was good, and at one point the chef came over to ask how the food was—it was delicious, but the wait made that secondary. They didn't have Splenda for the coffee, which, although I know it's a sin to drink coffee with sweetener, is a personal choice, and I think for customer service they should have it. We also asked for a glass of water, and they told us they only sell bottled water, and they refill it themselves, with no brand name or anything. The bathroom is awful since it's not theirs and belongs to the old plaza where they're located. Parking was a nightmare because of the busy area. I think a quieter day, when they're less crowded, must be a different experience. I'm just sharing my experience.
I'll start with the good: the staff is very friendly, the presentation of the dishes is very pleasing to the eye, and the chocolate milk is 10/10. The bad: We had a somewhat dirty table, the service was average, a bit slow, and I didn't like that we gave the owner our opinion about natural stevia changing the taste of what we're used to, and instead of offering alternatives, he started arguing with the customer about processed foods and that we're spoiled, etc. It would be amazing if the TikTok reviews specified that it's an eco-friendly restaurant. I really like the concept, but I don't like that they don't have more options or that they criticize your own tastes. There are no alternatives; that's what they have, and there are no more. They're doing well, and we're not (which may be true, but why bother arguing?). The chilaquiles were very attractive but tasteless, the sauce tasted like onion water and didn't give me the typical rich flavor of a tomato-based chilaquiles sauce. The hotcakes were tasty but the syrup was served cold. There was no maple syrup. The waiter was asked to bring them with honey and they ended up bringing them with their own syrup. The coffee was flavorless and doesn't have the normal sweeteners that most people are suitable for (only natural stevia and regular sugar), only organic products, and they don't offer alternatives for those of us who are used to other, not so organic products. There is no lactose-free milk. It takes a long time to serve you. The truth is that the social media videos promise a lot, but that's not what I received today. What you see is not what it tastes like. I reiterate that they should specify that this is an eco-friendly restaurant so that they can reach their target audience and not "THOSE OF US WHO ARE BADLY ACCUSTOMED TO PROCESSED FOODS."
The restaurant concept is appealing, and the drinks are very good. However, the service needs improvement: the staff seems disorganized because they don't have assigned areas, which creates confusion. Additionally, it would be advisable for them to use serving trays, as they sometimes forget to bring everything or ask other colleagues for help. The food is generally tasty, although the tlacoyos I tried were a bit dense and undercooked in the center, and the chicharrón was a little salty. Another point to consider is that they don't have their own restroom; you have to use the one in the plaza, which is unisex. This can be uncomfortable, as someone of the opposite sex might enter while you're using it, which happened to me and I found unsafe. One aspect that caught my attention is that on several occasions I saw kitchen staff arguing with the servers in front of the customers, which gives an unprofessional impression. In short, it's a restaurant with a good concept and noteworthy drinks, but there are important areas for improvement in organization, service, and infrastructure details. There are better options in the area. I understand they're growing, which is positive, but my review is based on my actual experience as a customer, and discrediting it doesn't change what I went through. Bathroom: Even though they mention that the bathroom is exclusive and has a key, that doesn't eliminate the discomfort or the risk of it being unisex. As a customer, the feeling of security is part of the experience, and in my case, it was uncomfortable. Tlacoyos: I know they're made with masa, but that has nothing to do with them being raw in the center. My comment was about the cooking, not the ingredient. Staff argument: I was present when kitchen staff came out to argue with servers in front of the diners. That's not "mere communication," it's a lack of professionalism and it affects the atmosphere. With all this, my opinion remains the same: I wouldn't go back, nor would I recommend it. I hope they take these observations as a real opportunity for improvement, because the customer experience is just as important as the concept of the place.
The service was terrible. Five of us ordered, and they forgot three plates. The waiters didn't say a word, and they didn't replenish the napkins or provide any extras—no bread, no tortillas. It's like, "Take your plate, eat, don't bother us." The presentation of the dishes that did arrive was nice (the portion was small for the price). It's not worth it; it was a very unpleasant experience. The only redeeming quality was the dessert. Regarding the response: We weren't satisfied, but we didn't order anything else because the service was incredibly slow. We didn't order more drinks either, for the same reason. With all due respect, your staff needs to be more professional. I apologize for the review, but I'm being honest.
False advertisement, the plates aren’t that big, The service is really really slow because there is only one person cooking in the kitchen, the green juice that is not green juice it was just water with parsley and celery, and one more thing. I ordered my plate to go and they charged me 10 pesos for the box We spent $850 pesos for 3 adults and one kid. I will never go back again.
