Beautiful place. There was a little wait even with reservations and no parking but the father of the owner made waiting pleasant and enjoyable. The food was some of the very best Italian food I've ever eaten. I can't even describe how delicious it was. I will definitely be back to eat. Loved the atmosphere and people. I highly recommend this place. You will not be disappointed

Compliments to the Chef! The Shellfish Pomodoro was one of the best pasta seafood dishes ive had in a while! Service and ambiance was great but the only thing I think can improve is the parking. Lot was full and had to park pretty far away in the neighborhood behind the restaurant. Will definitely be back again when we visit!

Great food and service! Highly recommend! Our server Britany was fantastic and the host (the owner’s father) made us feel right at home! I am not a fan of salmon, but I tried theirs and I actually look forward to coming back and ordering the salmon!

As soon as we walked through the door we were made to feel like we were home!!! Joe, the Chef/Owners father, immediately started talking to us and me us feel like a part of his family. The food was absolutely delicious! The dining room was like sitting in your living room. Relaxing and romantic at the same time. We will be back!

We tried the new Italian place in town for the first time last night to celebrate my 30th birthday and my parents’ anniversary — and it was absolutely wonderful! We brought our 3-month-old along (which can sometimes make dining out a little stressful), but the owners and staff were so kind and welcoming. They treated us like family from the moment we walked in. Even when our little guy got fussy, everyone was understanding and so sweet about it. The owners shared stories about their own family and grandkids, which made us feel so at home. They even brought out a tiny chef hat and apron for our son — the cutest touch and such a special memory for us. The service was warm, personal, and genuine — the kind of experience that makes you want to come back again and again. Delicious food, amazing people, and such a heartfelt atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back soon!

I finally made it to this restaurant gem and it was wonderful. The room itself is really nice. Not too big and not noisy at all. Service was excellent from the minute we walked in. The big win is the food. You can tell it is thoughtfully prepared. We started with the Italian chopped salad. Nice size and that dressing has a memorable kick. Each of us got different entrees and all of them were great and the pastas were obviously home made. I can't wait to return. Carmella would be so proud of her family and what they have done with this place.

Amazing. Have been here twice and each time the atmosphere is relaxing and inviting. Add in the food is our favorite Italian place (and we have visited every Italian place we can think of in south jersey). Trust me, go here and enjoy some of the best Italian around

I’ll start by saying both me and my wife come from large traditional italian families, and we are very picky and spoiled when it comes to italian food, particularly meatballs. However, this place did not disappoint. Everything was pleasantly enjoyable, from the atmosphere, service, to the meal. Good menu sellection also. And the meatballs were excellent. We will definitely be going back.

Great food, amazing staff. Came from NY to visit family and came to this place to get dinner for my brother in laws birthday, let me tell you we loved the food and the owners and staff are so amazing! Also besides the dining area they have a separate take out area where you can order! I am definitely coming back, I recommend this place for sure!

I rarely leave reviews but Carmella’s Cucina deserved one. Ive never been to a restaurant that says they treat everyone like family and left feeling like they actually treat everyone like family. The food itself is well worth the trip no matter where your coming from. I can confidently say the rigatoni vodka with braised short ribs was single handedly the best Italian dish I’ve ever had. This place is a must stop every time I’m in town.

This new restaurant, which officially opens next week, is phenomenal! My family had the opportunity to enjoy five appetizers and four entrées, and we were blown away! It’s incredible that a restaurant with this quality of food and an atmosphere you usually only find in big city, is available in our little town. As if the exquisite made to order meals weren’t enough, the hospitality was also outstanding. I hope everyone takes the time to enjoy a delicious meal in this wonderful environment. We can’t wait to go back once they officially open.

Food was tasty, portions were just right. Staff was a attentive to the clients. BYOB was a nice feature. Heater was not working, but we made the best of it.

If you want a home cooked meal, go here! Decor is beautiful! Everyone is so friendly and makes you feel like family. I ordered the chicken parm and it was delicious! It was stuffed with ricotta cheese with sauce on the side and the linguine that came as it was so good!! We also ordered a meat lovers pizza, and margarita pizza and both were so, so good. Definitely eat here!!

I had the opportunity to have my daughter’s 18th birthday celebration here! The service was wonderful, the space was beautiful, and the food was so good! Thank you to the owner and his father for being so dedicated and helpful throughout the event.

It’s been a while since I’ve been to a restaurant where you really can tell how much they love doing what they’re doing. Not only did they accommodate our large party, they made us feel like family!! Food was a 10/10 (this is coming from someone who isn’t that big on pasta dishes)!! Perfect portion to leave you satisfied but not over full. Everything tastes fresh! Will be back! If you’re debating on coming here, just do it! You won’t regret it

This new Italian restaurant in Mays Landing is fabulous. The food and presentation were excellent, the atmosphere was appealing, and the service was caring. My wife and I had the chopped salad and butternut squash ravioli as appetizers. Both were unique and delicious, and their presentation was exactly like the pictures. Our entrees were shellfish pomodoro and linguini with clams. The pasta was homemade and the sauce perfectly spiced. The shellfish was fresh and extremely tasty. We cannot wait to try other entrees. We strongly urge you to try Carmella’s. You will be pleased with the experience.

Tonight we went back for our second visit as a guest of the owner Joe who is a wonderful man. The food was amazing. The place was nice and warm and cozy. The waitress was a sweetheart and the food was excellent. My family enjoyed themselves and I’m sure we’ll be going back. The first visit was not as much fun but like we always say: Anyone can have a bad night, but praise God tonight was not that night. Tonight was wonderful. Thank you to Joe and the staff for a great night

The BYOB dining room looks exquisite, however, I opted for take out as I was pressed for time. Take out was very accommodating. I ordered the Sunday Gravy spaghetti and meatballs with hot sausage and pasta. It was so fresh! The meatballs were absolutely homemade with the veal, beef, pork, you could literally taste each meat. They used finer cheeses in the gravy and on top of the dish as well, and fresh herbs. The portion was enough for 2 people! And at a good price for all that food; $27! I am looking forward to taking time to experience more of selections, service, and atmosphere by dining in soon!

We decided to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary at the new restaurant in town, CARMELLAS!! What a pleasant surprise!! The dining room was beautiful and large and lively!! The food was wonderful and plentiful. I had Chicken Parm and husband enjoyed Lobster Putanesca!!Deliscious!!! Our server, Brittany, was the sweetest and most attentive we had ever experienced!! The owners Dad was on board to help things go smoothly and he certainly did!! A very nice man!! We were treated to dessert and after dinner treat!! It was a perfect place and perfect evening! We wish them the Best Of Luck!! They are well on the way to success Thank you fora joyful memory!! We shall return!

I had an incredible meal at Carmella's Cucina the other night! My friends and I ate family style so we could try as many dishes as we possibly could. I'd particularly recommend the Berkshire Pork Chop, although you can't go wrong with any choice. The flourless chocolate cake was also out of this world. The staff were also extremely friendly and made sure you were well taken care of. Great food, great service, great choice!

Decided to give the pizza a try, as pizza around area seems to be a dime a dozen. Ordered, plain, pepperoni, and meatlovers and we were quite pleased. Had a quality taste, not cheapish, good flavor. Reminded me of shore pizza near beaches - if that makes sense to anyone:). Thrilled to have them in heart of Mays Landing. Their dining area appears very nice, and take out area is separated, so nice for both sections of restaurant.

I had seen recently on social media that this place had opened recently so we met friends here for a double date and all four of us were blown away. We were greeted at the door by a friendly gentleman, seated and when our waitress came up, she was very welcoming and kind! Not rushed. She was very informative, personable and helpful with choosing our apps/meals. Food is prepped to order, which yes, does take a little longer but it’s worth it! Everything was so fresh, flavorful, and temperature was perfect! The place is very clean, adorable decor. Very nice place! We even saw the head chef(owner) walking around interacting with guest. Overall we will be back! Very happy with our experience! Thank you !

The place was beautiful inside. Their menu is not very big, however the selections are a little different than basic menus. Desserts were good.

First time to Carmella's to celebrate my mother's birthday. Went for lunch and was a little disappointed that the menu only had subs and pizza. When we told the waiter that we were looking for more, he allowed us to order from the dinner menu. The food was delicious and fresh, and the staff was very accommodating.

Don't believe negative reviews. This is a great, new place with nice people and good food. I had the ckams and pasta and it was a perfect dish and just the right size. If you want humongous portions go to The Olive Garden.

We stopped in tonight after a friend's recommendation. Calamari was bland. We also had the Bronzino, Veal and Fettuccine. The scampi sauce in the Bronzino was sweet and odd. The Fettuccine also had and odd flavor. My wife liked her Veal. Overall something felt off about the food. Wouldn't go back based on one app and three plates.

12/16/25 Had 6pm reservations, showed up 5 minutes early, there were four of us. Hostess sat us right away, that was the last time anybody came to our table. Never even got a glass of water. They appeared to be shorthanded but never attempted to even look our way. Most of the customers didn't even seem to have food on their table. Waited 30 minutes, at 6:30 we were leaving and saw the hostess. I told her we never got served, she said " Oh, did I seat you?' Outrageous! Went to another restaurant a short distance and met another couple that was at Carmella's the same time, they left too. NEVER GOING BACK!

My wife and I went out for dinner tonight, which will be our first and last time going here. My wife had the meatball, and I had the clams for our appetizers. The meatballs had no flavor, but the clams were good, but very small, even though I asked for the largest ones they had. My wife's dinner was just okay. I ordered the clams and pasta, and was in utter shock when the waitress placed it in front of me, as it was the smallest portion I ever received. My meal came with maybe a 1/2 cup of pasta, which was all cut up. I asked if I could get more pasta, and the waitress returned with another toddler portion. Needless to say, I left hungry. We then noticed another customer eating something that was clearly not on the menu. We then asked the waitress about that entree. She then stated, "Oh yeah, that is our special tonight". We were never informed of any specials! The waitress then states, "Why would that have made a difference?" After dinner, coffee had no cream, only milk was available. All in all, the restaurant was very nice inside, but the food did not reach our expectations, especially for the price.
