⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 10/10 – Best Anniversary Dinner Ever We went to Ott’s Good Earth Garden Restaurant to celebrate our anniversary and everything was absolutely to die for. We started with the burrata special, cranberry meatballs, the Seven Fishes soup, and the French onion soup — all of which were incredible. The Seven Fishes soup was rich, comforting, and packed with flavor, and the French onion soup was classic, deep, and perfectly done. Sooooo good. For dinner, the filet was flawless, and honestly, real steakhouses can’t even shake a stick at how well this food was prepared. The lobster mignon special was next-level — perfectly cooked, decadent, and unforgettable. Our server Dillon was phenomenal. Attentive, thorough, and professional — and for 19 years old, he could absolutely take some seasoned servers in the restaurant world to school. That kid is going places. Dessert somehow managed to top everything else — the espresso cake with espresso was unreal, and the peppermint brownie was sooooo good. The perfect ending to a perfect anniversary dinner. From start to finish, the food, service, and atmosphere were flawless. 10/10. Best ever. We’ll absolutely be back.
Always delicious food! Love this place for a special occasion, like its a byob. We had octopus, fried burrata, rack of lamb, blue crab gnocchi and peanut butter cheesecake.
Amazing! Our first visit here after learning about them during LBI restaurant week. The building is beautiful and as soon as you walk in you know it's upscale but comfortable and inviting. The servers are friendly, knowledgeable and there to make your experience a wonderful one. They have a local wine menu with very fair prices and BYOB. We decided to try the LBI menu and add on an extra appetizer. Every bite of every dish was better than the next. I can honestly say I have not had food this good or thoughtfully prepared in what feels like ages. We started with the French onion soup and broiled oysters. This is the best onion soup I have ever had, the broth was perfection and beyond flavorful. The oysters were delicious but i would have liked a larger oyster in this dish to get a better bite out of the shell. There were so many great sounding seafood app specials and we had a hard time choosing so we went in a totally different direction with the pickle nose poutin and ordered the pretzel crusted salmon for dinner. The fried pickles in the appetizer were so good! The pickle was a tart and tangy dill in a somehow light crusted and fried batter with a super flavorful mustard sauce, fantastic soft pretzel and a little melted munster. We loved it, it was fun, flavorful and the right size to not fill up on such a carby dish. The salmon was incredible, honestly the best i can remember ever having. From the quality of the fish, the perfect medium rare cook, and the combined flavors of the crust and the small amount of sauce piped around to add just the right amount of flavor without hiding the salmon itself. The tiramisu was wonderful and traditionally prepared, I ate it all, the carrot cake also very good. This is definitely a place for a special occasion or just a really nice night out with wonderful food, service and environment. The prices are higher, but the fresh ingredients, care and skill applied to each dish supports it. We plan on going back soon to try much more of the menu
First time here and the previous reviews were a little confusing because of the name change but found out they re-branded last summer and owner is the same. It is self parking, not valet like previous reviews suggest. The inside is beautifully decorated with great ambiance and clean restrooms. We brought our own wine but we found out they do have bottles and splits for sale at a very reasonable price. No cork fee for bringing your own. The New England clam chowder was outstanding and the fried calamari was good, especially the spicy dipping sauce. My twin fried lobster tails, risotto and spinach were excellent, definitely something different. My wife had the NY Strip which was cooked perfect. The portions were not small by any means so not sure why some previous reviews mention that. I forgot the name but the drizzled chocolate cake for dessert was excellent as well as the chocolate lava cake, cheesecake and tiramisu. The espresso is also excellent. The service was outstanding and we were completely satisfied with our dining experience, can't wait to come back and experience the German menu. They do charge a 3.75% fee for using a credit card and a credit card is required to make a reservation but as long as you show up and pay cash, there are no fees. Second visit update: We came back to try the German menu and were just as happy as our first visit. The Sauerbraten and Wurst Combo were excellent! I’m not sure what they add to the sauerkraut but it is exceptional. The crab and corn chowder, special of the day, was also excellent. And of course the service was fantastic. We’ll be back soon…..
Best meal I’ve had in a long time. Moving to this area from Monmouth county it’s been hard to find many quality restaurants. Everything here way absolutely phenomenal and the service was equally exceptional.
What a pleasant surprise. The food, from appetizers to dessert, was amazing; fresh, original combinations and unique flavors. And the Tilefish special... wow! The host was sincere and our server, Gianna, was very pleasant and on the ball. We look forward to our next visit.
The staff, the chef and the food are all spectacular!!!
We celebrated our 1 year anniversary at Ott’s. Chef Geoff is phenomenal. He catered our welcome dinner and when we dined at Ott’s for our anniversary, Chef Geoff brought us some appetizers that he served at the welcome dinner. It was so thoughtful and such a special way to remember our wedding a year later. The owner, Bob, is also very kind and hospitable. If you are celebrating a special occasion or just love excellent food, I highly recommend Ott’s Good Earth Garden!
I attended a private event! The Restaurant catered to all our needs! The event, an Oktoberfest celebration, was a success. The cuisine is spectacular, the atmosphere very cozy, yet elegant! The staff was very professional and accommodating. I highly recommend this little gem!
They had a new 50 dollar menu we just had to try out. So you get an appetizer, salad, entree and a dessert. There was enough to pick from and I was very satisfied. I hope they do it again in October.
Our experience was so amazing! I took my fiancé for his birthday and our server, Jake, really made the experience. He was attentive, provided us with awesome recommendations, and even brought us a phenomenal dessert! For dinner we had the tuna and the cod, both were delicious! Will definitely recommend Otts and be back for further occasions!
Such a wonderful restaurant! Quality was tops and portions were generous! Waitstaff is courteous and attentive! Will definitely visit again in the near future! Too many fantastic entrees to choose from!
It was our 6th anniversary and decided to try this place in our neighborhood. Amazing. Food incredible. Our server Camille; phenomenal. I purposely read the all the negative comment prior to going. Two common ones were that the food was salty or people felt rushed out. Neither was true in our experience. Will be going back soon. Thank you to the staff a great experience.
This restaurant and Staff are outstanding. Minutes from LBI just off Route 72 & on Route 9/ Main St. The locals secret serves the Freshest meals with an fantastic presentation. Delicious fare for the most discerning appetite. We thoroughly enjoyed, Duck, macadamia crusted COD, Crab Cakes, Seared tuna. Every morsel Gone and we tasted each others meals. Oh, the wait staff was Superb too! Get there soon...LJS Dessert was to die for. Sorry no meal photos from last night...
We had by far the best experience at Otts Good Earth Garden. Everything was extremely fresh. From the appetizers to the entrees to dessert, our expectations were completely blown out of the water. We are already planning our next night here. Our waitress Jules was the most attentive and knowledgeable server we have had in YEARS. She truly made this experience even better. I would give 1000 stars if I could!!
Went here for Easter dinner with family. Was very impressed with the decor. We had a party of seven so our waitress Silke, had her work cut out for her and no matter what we threw at her she didn't skip a beat. Had the Calamari that came with Sirachi Aoili and it was crispy, crunchy and possibly the best I've ever had. Main course was Lobster Fra Diavolo and it was spicy "heaven", especially the broth that I swiped up with their homemade bread. Fiance had " Gran Filet Mignon" that could be cut with a spoon and he described it as delicious. (When I could get him to stop shoveling it in his mouth!). Others at the table had "Rudolph's Colossal Scallops" and Sirloin Steak. No one at the table needed a "doggie bag". Needless to say, the food was beyond compare and the service impeccable. Most definitely be visiting again! Restaurant also features " local" wines that will appease any palate.
Our waitress, Jules was outstanding, the meals were fresh and bright, the music light and wine offerings paired well with the meals, or BYOB. Lobster thermador, and soft shelled crabs
Fantastic place. It's a whole experience especially if you do a private event there. The cheif comes out and introduced himself and talked about the courses. And they do great murder mysteries too!
Amazing! You can really taste the difference when it’s a farm to table meal! The service and ambiance were top notch too!
Such sweet people working there and my food was fabulous! Blueberry and marscapone stuffed French toast... Yummmmmmm!
I absolutely love The Octopus's Garden! The crab cake was delicious and the duck was cooked to perfection. 10/10 recommend dinner here!
What a delicious dinner. We had the mussels, halibut, gnocchi, short rib lasagna and everything was superb!
We ate dinner during New Year's Eve. It was a nice restaurant.
Big Lobster didn’t taste as good as the smaller ones. Just a note to self- nothing wrong with the entree but I feel smaller is juicy & sweeter.
This restaurant is amazing. I had a wonderful dinner there yesterday. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is elegant, and the food is top-notch. I had a delicious clam chowder soup and a duck entree with mushroom risotto. Even the desserts are fantastic. The staff surprised us with a chocolate cupcake (for a birthday) with real vanilla buttercream, whipped cream, and sugar lattice. The plant-based options are a bonus, so there is something for everyone.
When my parents asked me where I wanted to go for my 40th birthday I said if I can pick anywhere I’d go to Otts. My husband and I go there for any special occasion. As usual it did not disappoint. The food is always delicious and the service is always great. No one hand any leftovers. Food was amazing and Jules was the best. Thank you for making my birthday dinner great.
My husband and I had dinner last night. From the wine selection to the menu to the restaurant, it was amazing! I was pleasantly surprised to see a menu like that so close to home! The calamari and rock shrimp appetizer special was delicious. My husband had the cod and I had the tile fish special. The plates were bare when the server took them, we ate every last bite. Then we topped off dinner with a salted caramel icecream and a chocolate molten lava cake. I wish I had pictures, but it was so good, I didn't even think about it. Phenomenal! Anyone who is looking for an outstanding meal in a beautiful restaurant with knowledgeable servers, this is your place! You will see me again. Thanks for the great meal!
I'm so happy we found this place! Nice atmosphere/layout of tables, we sat in the main dining room section with a view of the kitchen. There are small rooms off to the side for more privacy or private parties. There aren't many restaurants like this around this area. It was fresh, and delicious from start to finish. Prices are on point, and service was great and they were very attentive. So many dishes I want to go back and try! I never eat dessert but the Cheesecake is a must try!!
They simply do everything right! A wonderful getaway 30 minutes south of Toms River via the Parkway. Farm to table, BYOB. For me and my wife the bill came to under $150 including tax and tip on 2 separate visits there.
Wonderful establishment. Service and dinner, never disappoints! Menu, specials, and price fix menu are all top notch. Highly reccomend from a local!
Our first time here and I must say very pleased with the food! Appetizer..fried calamari and vegetarian chicken wings. Entrees.... 18 oz sword fish chop and steamed whole lobster. Was Deliciously fresh and amazing. The atmosphere and staff very friendly, especially our waitress Gianna. Definitely will go back again & highly recommend.
Had dinner here with my wife 7/7/23 for our Anniversary. What a great dinner date! Great choices, definately a bit upscale (we both enjoy dressing up a little for a good dinner date). The food quality is amazing. The Duck Dinner is out of this world delicious! Service was great. We will definately be back for our next date night.
A delicious and beautiful meal had by all 4 of us. From scallops to crab cakes, to the hogfish special, it was all amazing! And the service was wonderful!! This was our second time there and we will definitely be back.
I'm so glad that I celebrated my birthday here! Jules and Kaia were absolutely wonderful and attentive. The food was beautifully prepared and delicious. I can't say enough great things about Ott's Good Earth Garden. You must come here if you are in the area. It's worth the trip!
Found this restaurant on Google maps while on day trip from NYC and it turned out to be the best choice we possibly could’ve made! :-) Service was very attentive and the food was absolutely excellent - beef was cooked to perfection, broccolini deliciously crispy and scallops/octopus paired with tasty sauces and veggies. They have thought of everything: pleasant background music, lighting is dimmed just right, fresh flowers and candles on the table. My west coast husband named this top 1 restaurant he has ever tried on the east coast, so we will absolutely come back! Thanks for a wonderful meal.
Great ambience, fantastic food and the server was excellent. Always enjoy dining at OTT's.
We recently enjoyed an exceptional dinner at Ott's Good Earth. The food was extraordinarily fresh, delectable, unique in its combination of flavors and beautifully presented. Our server, Ryan, was knowledgeable, courteous and efficient. The restaurant itself is elegant and provides a luxurious experience. Would highly recommend for a special occasion or to treat yourself to a delicious meal. Though pricey, well worth it. We especially enjoyed the blueberry scallops, zucchini cannoli, mushroom wellington, oven roasted lobster tails and huge pork chop special. The shared fruit tart dessert was incredible, not overly sweet with melt in your mouth pastry. A truly grand finale!
The food was absolutely delicious. The fried lobster was the best Ive had so far.(Im on a quest for best fried lobster). However, if you go; know that they dont have a liqour license and only serve wine. Our waitress Camille was very helpfull and informed me that there was a liqour store next door where I could buy liqour. This was a perfect dining experience. Great food, great wait staff great atmosphere. I cant wait to go back
This is a go to for my wife and I. We visit several times throughout the year as well as with the whole family on Christmas Eve. I can say I've never been even slightly disappointed. The food is next-level great, the atmosphere is unmatched and the wait staff is a delight. You are always greeted with a warm smile and a gracious hello upon entering and never feel as if you are inconveniencing anyone. I will say out of all the times I've visited (and it's been many) I still have yet to order an entree off the menu as the dinner specials are always so fantastic. Best restaurant in town, possibly Ocean County. Thank you to the staff at Ott's for making every visit so special and delicious.
My husband and I went here for the first time this past Friday night and I must say I don’t know what took us so long! This restaurant is FIRST CLASS- from the superb service that Jules and her fellow server provided to the delicious food and amazing desserts we left full and completely satisfied with our experience here. HIGHLY RECOMMEND even if you are a picky eater like me. Lots of options and Jules was absolutely wonderful with recommendations and made sure our dishes came out exactly as ordered. They were cooked and seasoned perfectly! If you want a fresh, delicious meal with a wonderful ambiance and attentive, friendly service look no further! **Note: Reservations are required**
Had the oysters on the half shell as an app. Very good. For a main course I had the Rodolfo's scallops and scarlet prawns. Very nice presentation. The scallops were cooked perfectly and the risotto was very good. Not a big fan of the Scarlett prawns. I think the dish would have been better with wild shrimp or a lobster tail. Overall, a very good dish. A few side notes, the bread was excellent and our waiter was very professional and friendly.
I had the seared tuna and my wife had the salmon. Both of us enjoyed our meals although I can't say that it was the best that I've had. The server was knowledgeable and pleasant. The extensive menu had many other items that I would like to try so I will definitely be back. Check it out, you might like it. NOTE: They do not sell wine by the glass however you can bring your own. They charge 3.75% if you pay by credit/debit card. We went off season, early on a Wednesday evening and there was only one other couple there when we arrived.
Great place for a more intimate dinner. Not too many gluten free options. The offer wine and beer. No cocktail’s. Otherwise the food is phenomenal.
I visited for dinner with my wife for the first time after hearing from locals "you have to try". We ordered off a fixed March madness menu. I ordered the 8oz New York strip and my wife had the monk fish. Everything looked tasty, but I discovered the steak was overcooked and very tuff. I left most of it. For the price, the quality should have been much higher. We experienced a good atmosphere and caring staff—but pity about the steak.
Went again but this time for restaurant week. For $50, the price was good but the food was ehhh. Bread was nice and warm but served with unsalted butter ...yuck! What? Why? French onion soup was tasty. Salad was ok .. nothing spectacular. Actually the tomatoes on the salad were strange ... Blistered tomatoes on a house salad? Not for me. The entree was not memorable as I really don't remember what I ate. Restaurant is very pretty inside and service was good but I don't know if I would go back. Oh, and the desert. .. rice pudding was not done well. The rice was still hard and chewy. Not a great way to end the meal
Our meal at Ott’s was extremely disappointing. The appetizer was OK and our friend’s salad was actually quite good, however, the entrees were all disappointing. The duck was very dry, the skirt steak had to be sent back because it was overdone, but came back and was very grizzled and chewy, and the monk fish that comes with the scallops just wasn’t appealing. My wurst combination plate was actually quite good, at least until 11 pm, when I came down with food poisoning. I spent the next morning at urgent care and fortunately, it only lasted a day. When I spoke to the manager, he was very polite and apologetic, and he said their executive chef wasn’t there that night. He offered a gift certificate, but I assured him we would never be returning.
So first I would say that the food was the best part of this experience. For what this place was trying to be it has fell a little flat. Let's start with the fake roses in a vase with water to make you THINK this place is upscale. They were even lazy enough to not even cut it to length to fit in the vase and just bent it so it fit. The food was over salted to a very terrible level. This place wants you to feel like you are fine dining and the illusion is you are until you look under the hood. If you are looking for a real fine dining experience don't go here, employees were friendly but did not go above or beyond to even refill water after we drank them Would not recommend.
Haven’t been here in a while as the last few times were less than impressive. Went with a friend that wanted to try the four course dinner. Her Cod was over cooked. Other course she said were just ok. My mushroom wellington was just ok… it used to be fabulous. Not sure why it isn’t good anymore. It reminded me why i hadn’t been back. Fair at best. We both left with the same impression. I am over it.
Worst experience of my life. The food tasted good and the server was nice but the manager is a real piece of work. I had the displeasure of meeting her and seeing her walk around the establishment. She was very disrespectful to her staff and I even witnessed her yell at the hostess in front of customers. She was also very clearly on something, her eyes were red and baggy and she reeked of weed. It was truly a disgusting sight and smell for a manager. The food was great but not even that is enough to make me want to come back after witnessing that foul woman.
My first and last time dining at this restaurant. Unfortunately, my dining experience, as well as for my party, was unexceptionable! To begin with, the staff was poorly prepared and disorganized. The drinks were late, including the water, or the drinks were wrong! In addition, there were no diet drinks available! The grilled chicken club was not edible. To start the bread was hard as stone and stale. The grill chicken and vegetables were overcooked with hardly any vegetables to speak of. I would have required a steak knife to cut the flatbread! The salad consisted of scarcely any vegetables which consisted of tiny slivers of cucumber and tomato ! Overall, the service was poor and the food lacked quality and quantity considering the price! Such a disappointment considering the 4.5 rating reviews!
