After 7 Month travelling Canada,Alaska and US we are looking for some spots which look and taste a little bit like home. It's easy to overlook the Edelweiss Restaurant, cause the entrance is in the corner - but it's absolutely worth to take a closer look. We had a warm welcome, quick figured out that our root are in the same area of Germany - Riedstadt says hellt to Bingen :-) We hadn't any Schnitzel for a long time, and to be honest... It's a different kind of Schnitzel here in US,but I like it more then the most German Schnitzel... To make it short: 1*Jägerschnitzel, Spätzle, Sauerkraut 1* Raumschnitzel, cucumber salad , Potatosalad It was excellent, and for Germans it's a huge portion. Tomorrow I'm serving Lunch with SchnitzelBrötchen :-) And don't forget to taste the Cakes... Homemade and delicious. We shared one slice of Schwarzwälder and one Mandarin.not for Dessert, but for the 5 o'clock tea... Yummi! Thank you for the nice chat, the tasty food and the recommended Bakery. Schnitzel and mashed potatoes are my favorite. My husband loves Jaeger Schnitzel with mushroom gravy and spaetzle, with cucumber salad 😋 and a Crystal Weison great place. Monica, our waitress, is the bomb♥♥♥😊

Why have I done this to myself? Why have I discovered an amazing German food restaurant mere minutes from my house with schnitzels the size of my head that are so good I have no choice but to eat the entire thing in one sitting no matter how loudly the sound of my pant’s stretching waistband becomes? Delicious food and super friendly service! The jagerschnizel, green beans, and cabbage salad that was my lunch were all fantastic. The cabbage salad might have given me a momentary glimpse of the sublime inner workings of the universe. Absolutely delicious!

A favorite among locals and travelers alike. Authentic German cuisine made fresh and at a very reasonable price. As others have said this is the best German restaurant in the county. Great service and great food, oh did I mention home made desserts

Amazing food!! Friendly and happy staff! We always get great service and great food. They have amazing Jager schnitzel, Cucumber salad, red cabbage, home fries, and spatzel. the cakes are all freshmade and yummy. You can get bottles of hefeweizen to take home.i never get pictures of my food because I am so excited to eat it I forget.

Nice authentic German food. Spätzle and gravy was good, the home fries were tasty and the schnitzel was great. They have multiple types of hefeweizen and kristelweizen biers. They cook fresh cake each day; black forest, hazle nut and mandarin orange cake. I'd recommend this place :)

If you want a genuine and authentic taste of Germany here in Texas don’t waste your time looking any further. The atmosphere, food and staff are such a breath of fresh air. The food was absolutely amazing it took me back to my childhood days. I strongly suggest giving them a try you will not regret it. And to the restaurant thank you a million times for an amazing experience. We definitely will be back ♥️

Delicious!! Having lived in Germany it's hard to find a place that has authentic german food , this by far has it! Delicious food. The atmosphere makes you feel like your really back in Germany. Clean.place.and staff is so friendly. My favorite German restaurant I've found so far!

Outstanding food! Mind you, you may wait, but quality sometimes takes a few minutes. You can enjoy the quaint atmosphere and ogle at the myriad of German hiking badges. Its NOT FAST FOOD! But it is EXCELLENT German cuisine! Enjoy and relax. You will leave in s food coma!

Bring your appetite, because the portions are huge! The schnitzel was the size of my head, and they did not skimp on the side dishes, either. I had enough left over for lunch the next day. It was all delicious, and the wait staff was friendly and helpful. I'll definitely be going back.

Awesome food. Awesome service. The Goulash was absolutely delicious! The pork smothered in onions, the salads, the fried mushrooms and red cabbage were all incredible. We got dessert to go. I highly recommend this place.

The food is really good, and the atmosphere feels very authentic, akin to an “Old World” type of feeling. Their cakes are also wonderful, I would recommend the mandarin cream cake. I wish I could give this restaurant five stars, but unfortunately I did not receive the best service. It was my first time and the waitress (I’m assuming the owner?) expected me to already know how everything works, I was clueless in which she responded harshly by stating something such as “I don’t have time for this” and walked off without looking back. She would respond rudely whenever I asked questions or was confused because she wasn’t explaining anything until I called her out over her attitude. Now, I understand you were extremely busy and all, but that is still no way to treat customers, I felt like a huge burden this entire time and it really ruined my experience. The restaurant has good food but the owner is a poor representation with her childish behavior.

Ordered the Holsteiner. Eggs were overdone and rubbery, schnitzel was kinda dry, and the mashed potatoes seemed like instant. Needed a lot more gravy. Service was decent.

The food was not good at all. Everything was bland and dry. Potato salad was cold instead of warm and the spatzle was just awful. Service was fine, atmosphere was meh. Location is pitiful. We almost didn't go in because of that alone. Should have followed our first instinct.
