So I’m sitting here finishing my tacos 🌮 so full I’m ready to burst , but I still want more . Hands down the very best tacos I’ve ever had in my entire life. And it’s very affordable. I will definitely be a regular customer now . Come eat here if you haven’t, I promise you won’t regret it and wanting more .
Staying at the Thayer Hotel and took out a steak quesadilla for dinner. 10/10 amazing food. Fresh, delicious, quick. Don’t skip this spot if you’re looking for a meal in West Point.
Wow! I had an amazing pork burro here! Filled with great veggies and pork… NOT full of rice and beans. And the service was excellent! They really like to see everyone enjoy their food. Located in the American Legion parking lot.
Pepe is an awesome person. Food was incredible. I got the tacos and a quesadilla and it was the highlight of my day. Definitely recommend.
Interior is a little dim but the food was sooooo good. The birria tacos were fresh and excellent! The gentleman who runs it was very nice and food came out quickly. Would go back again!
Great chicken quesadilla! All the food I've had from Pepe's has been outstanding. The rice & bean combo meal is the way to go.
The most authentic tacos in the Hudson Valley, if not all the state of NY. Always delicious and fresh, highly recommended!! With the great food and great prices it blows other local taco places out of the water, too.
Tacos are great ❤️ Pepe's tacos always hit the spot. Flavorful & Authentic cuisine! Great value for the price! Highly recommend! Will be back soon!
Great food and service! Choice of Mexican and Pizza! You can't go wrong with either choice!! I can see that they care about the service and food they serve!
Love this little spot! Best tacos in the area, but also the nicest owner ever. Pepe opened up the restaurant two years ago and continues to provide top notch service. I got the three taco combo with rice and beans, and got the tres leches cake for dessert. It’s a casual spot and perfect for a quick bite or takeout.
Don Pepe is amazing... and yes it's a taco shop and pizzeria! His attention to service made you feel like you were eating at home. Definitely recommend it if in the area! Prices were also so affordable. Highly recommended 👌
Got takeout tacos for lunch. Absolutely fantastic and very good service also. Would highly recommend
Came to west point for a friends wedding and happened to find this gem.Tacos were some of the best I have ever had! We talked with Pepe about his food and you could tell he put his heart and soul into it.Everthing was delicious and homemade. Owner and staff were awesome. I would go out of way to return. Still thinking about them. Tremendous!
Pepe’s tacos is one of the bright lights for culinary excellence in Highland Falls. Enjoy the street tacos and Mexican soda!
This is a small, new restaurant (2023) but run by an experienced restaurateur who previously had a local food truck. The food is tasty and the portions are exactly right. Everyone in our party of three enjoyed their food. As a vegetarian, I didn’t see many options, but when I mentioned it to the owner, he said he would make a special quesadilla – it was wonderful! It was full of spinach, cheese, onions, tomatoes and bell peppers; I hope he expands his vegetarian options. I will definitely eat here again.
The food was delicious I got birria tacos and my friend got chicken tacos and they come with a side as well. Delicious authentic food.
Stopped here while I was in town for work. We go to Mexico once a year on vacation. The tacos here are better. Definitely worth stopping in. The food and service was excellent
Excellent tacos and the owner is super nice guy.
Absolutely delicious! Fresh tacos, loaded up quesadillas and the friendliest service around. Pepe is amazing, and our family will be regulars from today forward.
Came here for lunch on New Years and was happy with my experience. Although the entrance was a little confusing (it’s right next to the bar entrance), I had a good takeout experience. I got a burrito with the sides and felt the value was fair. The service was great and I look forward to stopping by next time I’m in the area!
Late on a rainy Thursday night, we were the only people there. I think they stayed open for us. 😳 I felt bad but the two gentlemen (pizza server and Mexican restaurant server) both greeted us. Very hospitable! Very kind. Food was prepared fast and was delicious! Will go back.
Super nice owner, drove to check it out because they don’t put rice in the burritos. Solid! Free chips too
New to town but a huge street taco fan so decided to step in. First look at the outside we realized there’s a pizza place in there too - Roman’s! Best of both worlds. We stopped in on a Thursday night and were the only ones dining in, but both the pizza owner and taco owner blew us away with service. Kind and attentive and making sure we were accommodated! Onto the food - we ordered: - (Free) Chips + salsa - Guacamole - Birria tacos w/rice and beans - Al pastor tacos w/rice and beans - small pizza, half cheese/half pepperoni The tacos were exactly what we pictured and super tasty. They came with two hot sauces, a more mild green, and a chipotle red. Rice and beans were seasoned well The guac was some of the best we had in awhile and lastly, the pizza. Almost a classic bar pie. Tasted fresh, the dough has good taste on its own, and the sauce was bright and flavorful. We will be back - and you should be too!
We stopped by Pepe’s after a trip to West Point and got chicken and steak tacos. They were delicious - probably some of the best we have had. Pepe himself was there and very helpful with accommodations for my food allergies (dairy and gluten). The guacamole was also fantastic and they gave me cucumber slices with it instead of chips. Highly recommended if you are in the area.
Pepe has the BEST food! Quick service, the food is always fresh, and very reasonable prices. You can get food at the bar next door as well which is convenient! Every chance my husband and I get, we order from Pepe’s. Best food in Highland Falls, support local!
I have yet to find many yummy places to eat here, and Pepe's will definitely be a GO TO over our next 4 years of visiting our cadet. The food was fresh and delicious. The salsas were pretty, pretty, pretty spicy. Portions were great. The man in charge/owner was super nice. I took mine to go, so I can't really comment on the atmosphere. Price was reasonable. Why would anyone go to the Chipotle a few doors down when there is Pepe's?
Absolutely amazing and authentic. It's literally like having dinner at a friend's home. So far I've tried the steak chimichangas and the burritos, both were some of the best I've ever had. The steak is cubed and cooked to a nice tender chew. Pepe cares enough to cut away the stringy gristle before cooking. You can tell he has put thought and consideration into the little things. That's the difference between average and excellence. Even the simple rice and beans are cooked to near perfection. Pepe himself is the most gracious host, too. I'd eat here at least a couple times a week if I lived closer. That is no exaggeration. I'll be back.
I try to make sure to stop by here each time we’re back to see our son at West Point. Food is great and reasonably priced. Service is quick. Highly recommend to any new families visiting the area.
I got takeout and these were the best tacos I've ever had. The gentleman working was very kind and was willing to make vegetarian-friendly tacos for me. They were delicious! I'll definitely come again.

Fantastic, authentic Mexican food. The fish tacos are incredible. Great service, too!
Great classic street style tacos with a very hospitable staff and thoughtful service. Definitely will have this place in mind when in the area.
The food is amazing. Everything was delicious, but the quesadilla in particular is the best quesadilla I've ever eaten. The cheesecake chonga is absolutely incredible.
Amazing experience! The carne asada and al pastor tacos were flavorful and authentic, the wings were perfectly crispy, and the chips with guac were fresh and delicious. We finished with warm churros and fried ice cream that hit the spot. The hospitality was outstanding friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Would definitely return!
Fresh, Flavorful, and Fun! We were a party of four in town for work and stumbled upon this gem that blends pizza and Mexican cuisine. We all went for the Mexican side of the menu—and wow, it was fresh and absolutely delicious. Great service, vibrant flavors, and a cozy atmosphere. Highly recommend! We’ll definitely be back.

Sad to see the other great restaurant closed, however this one is pretty good 👍 we enjoyed whatever it was that they sent us, the language barrier was a challenge and I couldn't figure out why they didn't understand what I was trying to order, but whatever they decided to send us was good and we'd definitely go back.
Hamburgers were good. Fries very good. They have a beer sign inside but don't sell beer. Server quiet, but nice.
You can really appreciate the hustle the staff displays. Pepe’s is connected to the Pub next door supplying the food orders. During our visit there was zero wait therefore were immediately seated, dinning area is small and seats about 20 guest. Before paying at the register be sure to calculate your bill before hand. Cashier adds it up in their head and can make a math error. Ordered the steak tacos, wings, and pizza slice. Tacos came out hot which was awesome cause I love my food hot. Anywho tacos are so-so I know street tacos and what is served is not that. Would’ve loved if taco meat was cooked “a la plancha” prior to serving. Added the rice and beans, those needed more flavor at a minimum salt. Enjoyed the salad and cucumber with Tajín that’s served with the tacos. Wings were nothing more than bar food nothing special. Slice of pizza no comment just that it does suppress your hunger.
Awesome, just happened to be in the area. Owners were great food was great. We will go back again

Not authentic Mexican food , it’s more Tex-Mex. Birria tacos were not the tacos I was expecting. Pastor tacos were lacking flavor. Owner, Pepe, was very nice and even brought the food to my car. thank you 🙏
Food reviews say delicious, but probably don’t try burrito. Easily fell apart and very much a Tex-Mex style. Salsas were good. Chips were great. Steak was ok, and lettuce and peppers and rice don’t hold the burrito together one bit
Although I am ranking this location with 3 stars I want to start by saying how the staff is honestly very nice and this restaurant has lots of potential. I’ll list the pros and cons from my experience. And to the owners, I understand that sometimes you may not even notice certain things that should be updated or enhanced because you’re busy behind the scenes, but that’s why we have reviews to provide constructive feedback. I work in marketing so this is coming from a helpful place. Pros: - The chicken chimichangas were delicious and very affordable, especially for New York. - The staff was nice. Areas for improvement: - The menu is confusing, with multiple versions of the same items at different prices. A single, consolidated menu would help reduce confusion. Also, design and create a fun menu that goes with a tex-mex theme! -The guacamole needs more flavor and should be served in a bowl, not in a plastic lid. -Customer service could use some attention to detail—greetings, checking on meals, and offering refills or dessert were missed. A simple up-sell or offering additional items could help increase revenue. I ordered a soda and I was brought the can but no cup. I prefer to drink anything canned out of a cup, but if there’s no cup then at least a straw. - It seems there may be staffing issues, both in the kitchen, as well as, on the floor. As my waiter was hosting, she was also handling the register, unfortunately leading to long waits and mistakes. From what I saw there were only two waiters working the floor. One for my room and another for the other room. I had to wait almost an hour for my food and during that time some customers got up and left because of the wait. I myself got up to ask about my guacamole appetizer which was forgotten. The waitress did refill everyone’s chips and salsa in the meantime. However, there was never an apology for the wait or an update on how much longer our food would be. It wasn’t until I was ready to pay when the owner apologized for the delay. -I didn’t get an itemized bill to double-check my order, and there was no gratuity recommendation. These small details could improve customer experience. -Lastly, the dining hall. I didn’t get a look at the other room but from what it looks like, this place, although is small, has lots of potential to look nice and inviting! It just needs the owners to invest in the look and aesthetic. The room is very cramped, the tables and chairs need to be replaced, there is space that can be used but taken up by either a big tv, or large tables, the decor is outdated, the a/c is hanging on by a thread with duct tape, the list goes on. Again, all respect to the owners, but you are doing yourself a disservice by allowing your restaurant to look like this. If it’s a Tex-Mex restaurant, then transform your space into that theme. Give the walls a good paint job, get new art or have a painter come in and provide some fun Tex-mex designs on the wall. Get rid of the tv and play some spanish music. Or hang the tv on the wall and show some Spanish music videos. Add some cafe style tables and chairs to maximize seating. There are so many options and it can be done with a little creativity. This restaurant is what we call a hole in the wall, which is a great compliment in my opinion. I look forward to coming back soon and hopefully will be able to see new improvements. These are just some observations that I would like to relay. Hope it helps.

Be careful. When you're not looking, the owner adds extra to your total just before he swipes your card. I've caught him doing that twice. What clued me in? It was his shifty facial expression that raised enough of a red flag to make me pause and actually look at what I was asking to pay. He apologized each time (for getting caught). But my last straw was when he again pulled the same stunt with my wife. For dozens of times visiting and paying $7 for a flan, handed the owner a $10 bill and got back $2. He was so flustered when she caught the slight-of-hand, without time to think he blurted "tax." Oh really? Fourteen-percent tax now? But then he promptly handed my wife back the dollar he had tried to steal.
Came here for poker night worst food experience ever, owner touching food with gloves than touching money
Went there with my family and honestly we were all surprised at how insanely bad the food was. The dining room is all the way in the back, and it’s dark and dirty. We ordered guacamole which were served on plastic to go tin lids, the avocado was rotten, flavorless, and warm. Some of us ordered tacos and some of us ordered burgers. The tacos were not good, and the burgers were flavorless and completely gray and dry. The cheese unmelted. Please go elsewhere if you are near here. 😭 I’m Not sure where all the positive reviews are coming from but they have to be fake.
Would not recommend coming here to eat. Had the grilled chicken sandwich and honestly just a bit crazy you can charge $12 for a piece of chicken that is thinner than the tomato. Fries were at least somewhat decent. Left the restaurant still hungry, never a good sign. Pretty hot in the restaurant as well.

We dined in around 4 p.m. on New Year’s Day. We were nearby and decided to give it a try since this place has a 4.8-star rating. There is no way this place has such a high rating. The taco tortillas were dry, the meat was tough, and the salsa verde was not fresh, nothing tasted right. For anyone new to town and craving Mexican food, I do not recommend this place.
