Opinions de Thai Delight Higuera
Good vegan options (they offer mock duck, mock Chicken and tofu), very accommodating to dietary requests and restrictions and what is even more impressive is the varying levels of spicy from mild to "extreme" heat- we loved it!
Really great food + experience. We’ve dined in and taken out multiple times, and have always been more than satisfied. Very friendly service, fantastic cooking, and overall wonderful experience. And very decent prices!!!!
My absolute favorite Thai place in slo. Beautiful atmosphere, the kindest owners and employees, and amazing authentic food. Can’t recommend it enough :)
Cute outdoor patio. Food was fresh and delicious!
Fantastic flavors and lovely service. Thai Delight is truly delightful. All the food was fresh and delicious. Will definitely come again.
First Visit. The Red Pineapple was so delicious. We were very happy with everything and great service, will definitely return.
Served my party of 9 really well. Great food, everyone enjoyed it and it was reasonably priced given that it is right by downtown SLO. Good vegan options too.
Great little Thai restaurant with a good selection of options to choose from for vegetarians. The servers were exceptional.
I really loved this place. The food was 10/10, they had a friendly staff, reasonable pricing, and it was in a good location. Will def be returning frequently!
Had the pumpkin curry, it was so delicous. We ate outside in the patio which was really nice next to the creek.
Great service. They greatly improved the decor. I enjoyed the Panang curry. Will be back to try other items on the menu.
My family and I enjoyed the food. The service was excellent.
Cute outdoor dinning area that overlooks a local creek. Food was fantastic especially the Thai fried rice.
Great food!! Super nice outdoor oatio thats right over a creek! Frogs made my date feel even more special lol. Highly recommend this spot
A delicious Thai restaurant and a great value. Curries are only $13 and come with a side of rice. My hot curry was nice and spicy (only slightly toned down from an "authentic Thai spice scale"). Ingredients seem fresh and the curry is flavorful. Service is friendly and the space is beautiful, with a pleasant patio. I highly recommend Thai Delight!
Excellent Thai food with a cozy back patio over the creek.
This place rules. The patio has great atmosphere, and the new redesign of the overall restaurant is clean and sharp. The bar has fun colorful drinks with great presentation. They have many vegan, and gluten free plates including a delicious yellow & green curry. This is definitely a SLO favorite!
Teriyaki chicken bowl was great. Website is excellent.
Really great Thai food sat outside in the patio I highly recommend the Thai tea and pat Thai
Extra stars deserved for Natalie and her amazing Asian funk playlist. It took the ambiance to 11.
Great noodle dishes. I come back anytime I need some pad Thai or other stir fry. Seriously amazing pad Thai and pad see ewe. The lunch deal is unbeatable for such amazing food and quantity for such a low price.
What a wonderful experience we had here. We came to have dinner to celebrate our son birthday. The food and staff was superb! My wonton soup exquisite, right amount of fresh spinach, along with chicken, dumplings, that didn’t over take the taste of ginger, onion, and it was hot in temperature, and too spicy either. I also had shrimp tempura, golden brown, crispy crunch batter , with an succulent chili sauce to mix with my julienne carrot s and cabbage, outstanding mixture of chi sweet , with touch of the carrot sweetness and the mild cabbage flavor. Love, love it! My son had the chicken curry tasted homemade with love, the tofu sauté just right, the potatoes cook perfection with nice bite not to hard or mushy, just right! Now of the curry was of bold, deep earthy with taste, in richness of turmeric , ginger, garlic, coconut milk, coriander, spice chili, and rice top it off-just outstanding combination together. Husband had chow mein and crispy chicken and yes , chicken was fried to perfection also, golden brown, crunchy crispy bite with blend vegetables , noodles in the chow mein , simply delicious! To top it off the restaurant brought a ice cream sundae to go along with the birthday cake and staff sang happy birthday to our son. We and the patrons sang along as well , it was fabulous! Thank you Frank and Thai Delight Cuisine staff for the excellent service and phenomenal food. We will be back and I suggest you try Thai Delight Cuisine . You will not be disappointed!!❤️ I would taken pictures but after one bite , it was so good, we kept eating and forgot pic.
Really fresh ingredients, well cooked. Each of us had a different meal of the Healthy Eating section and they were both really good. I enjoyed the Boba tea, but that left no room for mango sticky rice for dessert. I guess I'll just have to go back.
Sit outside!! Lots of college kids and young folks eat here. My friend and I got spring rolls and the fresh heaven rolls were especially good. Little pricey but worth it for the fun late night atmosphere and getting to sit on a balcony next to the creek. Couldn’t be happier.
Really good Thai food, portions where great, and the price not bad. Loved the back patio. Service was awesome, and food came out very quick. Will definitely be coming back for the paradise rice!
Excellent customer service 👏 👌. Green chicken curry was amazing, ducken noodles, beef salad, teriyaki bowl all were amazing
This place is awesome! The outdoor patio has a really cool atmosphere and the staff is super friendly. The food is fantastic and they serve really good portions as well. The presentation of the food is another cool feature of this place.
You know when you can just feel the love, and also taste it? ... I typically order take out, but enjoy the atmosphere so much I would highly recommend for solo travellers, a place to relax and read and dine.
Finally, a Thai restaurant with real Thai food, I had almost lost all hope for Central Cali/San Luis Obispo until I came into Thai Delight. Their food was delicious and hit the spot!
The best curries we have had outside Thailand
One of the BEST Thai foods I ever had. Very friendly and quick service. Will visit again.
The food was wonderful. By far the best Thai food we’ve had. We had the Panang Curry with chicken. Simply wonderful.
Beatiful patio over the creek. Delicious and Big portions. Great service and atmosphere! We had the pad thai and the yellow curry! Both were delicious!
Good food... was packed so there was a wait and the waitstaff was in a slight frenzy but the service was fine and the food was authentic
Amazing food and awesome staff. Nice cozy patio. Server patiently and carefully noted down our order and made sure it’s served exactly how we wanted. If you like Thai food this is must visit place in San Luis Obispo!!!
I think the prices here compared to... pretty much everywhere around SLO is MUCH more reasonable, and hefty portions. I got a curry over rice, and they gave me so much katsu chicken and curry. I'm pretty sure i finished the rice before the rest lol. Pretty much a solid asian choice if you're in the mood for it in downtown!
Everything was great. Both Server and Hostess were fantastic. The atmosphere and the outdoor seating is the best as well.
I can't tell you how many times I've walked by this restaurant in the past. Today my husband wanted to try it. I'm so glad we took a chance!! IMO it is THE best Thai restaurant in SLO!! My husband ordered ginger chicken and I ordered the Pad Thai. Both dishes were amazing!! The flavors were incredible from the soup to the fried rice and then the entrees - WOW!! The service was wonderful and the prices reasonable. We will be back.
This is definitely the best Thai food in town! Everything I've tried on the menu has been fantastic, and they have a ton of options. The back patio is really pretty with a view of the creek below. Service is very friendly. I have a lot of favorites from here: their wonton soup, the praram (chicken with peanut sauce), spicy eggplant stir fry, and thai iced coffee or tea. The curries and specialty dishes are great, too. Honestly, you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu!
IMO, best Thai spot in slo. Food is incredible - I am partial to the yellow curry with chicken. Service can be a bit slow (especially with the deluge of doordash pickups by the door) but the experience is wonderful overall.
We had the pad se ewe with fried tofu, it was delicious and the tofu had a wonderful char on it. We also had the pumpkin curry with mock duck that was so comforting and just the right spice. This place is a hidden gem for vegetarian/vegans! The strawberry side and mango lemonade were also amazing. We ordered and had our food within 15 minutes. This place is 10/10!
Amazing food and value for money. I really loved the food and service was quite prompt. The Thai green curry and hot basil chicken were great. Definitely recommend the fried rice as well.
Some of the freshest Thai food we've had. Flavors were authentic and complimented one another. Service was fast and just plain enjoyable.
believe me when i say i’ve been a Thai Delight fan for a few years now, but tonight just totally knocked it out of the park. i sent my girlfriend to bring me vegetable curry during my lunch break due to a sudden craving. even though this meant placing the order 30 minutes before close (apologies to the kitchen!) my girlfriend remarked how kind and attentive the staff were upon her arrival. everyone made sure she was helped and kindly and quickly. anyway, when i finally got to clock out, the food was still hot and so delicious. it was everything i could have wanted and just really hit the spot. thanks for everything thai delight
Writing this review specifically because our server Mallory was so amazing!! Just had dinner there tonight to celebrate a friends birthday, she was super good with allergies, modifications, and other dietary restrictions and came to clarify as well. Super helpful when it came to explaining the menu, as well as helping us store and bring out the cake. Amazing food and amazing service, thank you again! First time here but we will be back.
Thai Delight Cuisine truly lives up to its name. Every dish we tried was bursting with authentic flavor and beautifully presented. We started with the crispy fish and Mango Salad, which was refreshing and vibrant—juicy mango chunks paired perfectly with crisp carrots, red onions, fresh cilantro, and a touch of peanuts for crunch. The balance of sweet, tangy, and savory was spot on. The hurricane Tom Yum Soup was a standout, served steaming hot in a pot full of shrimp, mushrooms, herbs, and chili. The broth was rich, aromatic, and had that perfect kick of spice with a soothing citrus undertone. We also enjoyed the Fresh Spring Rolls, which came packed with crisp vegetables and paired with a flavorful dipping sauce. Light, healthy, and a great way to start the meal. Of course, no Thai dinner is complete without a Thai Iced Tea—creamy, sweet, and refreshing. It was the perfect complement to the bold, zesty flavors of the dishes. The service was attentive, and the portions were generous without compromising quality. If you’re craving authentic Thai food with fresh ingredients and balanced flavors, Thai Delight Cuisine is definitely worth a visit.
I had a great experience at Thai Delight Cuisine. There was no wait time, and the service was quick and efficient. I tried the fried rice, drunken noodles (my favorite!), and Tom Yum soup—all were very flavorful and satisfying. The spicy wings were decent, and the mango sticky rice was a great way to end the meal. Prices are reasonable, though portions are on the smaller side. Overall, a solid spot for tasty Thai food—I’d definitely recommend it to people in the area.
We stopped here and had a lunch special. They had a nice small outside dining area that was quirky with a lot of fun decorations. The size of the lunch special was a perfect amount, and it came with a salad and soup. We would definitely come back if we were in the area.
Pineapple fried rice was heavenly! Fast service and great customer service. We will be back!
Located in downtown SLO, this place was pretty popular. And no wonder. The food was authentic and tasty. Arrive early or make reservations. Otherwise you're in for a wait. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and they're pet friendly. We ordered their green curry, pad see ew and their special crispy pork and broccoli. Our fav was the green curry. Nicely spiced with little hot kick. Their broccoli was a little under cooked, but the taste of the dishes were good. This is probably the best Thai restaurant in the area for miles around.
My wife and I were extremely pleased with the food here. We've tried dozen of Thai place where we live, and all of them are good but never expected SLO to have such a delicious Thai spot. Totally recommend this place!
One of the best Thai places I have ever tried in California. It is a hidden gem. Must visit.
I came here for the first time a few weeks ago after attending the DTSLO Farmer's Market and it's one of the cutest Thai restaurants I ever had the pleasure to dine. The restaurant is centrally located on Higuera Street, but is inconspicuous with a small white branded sign. Upon walking in, there is a corner desk that triples as a host stand, waiting area and expo line. The space seems small, but really would feel more spacious if they played Tetris with the furniture. . We were greeted by a dark haired, friendly young man in a black dress shirt and he directed us to his manager to place our order to go. The menu has all the fan favorites: spring rolls, seaweed salad, mango sticky rice and of course the popular curry dishes. My bestie ordered the pumpkin curry with extra vegetables as her protein and I got the green curry with shrimp. Like most small town establishments, they close fairly early with the last order being placed before 9:30pm. As we waited for our food to be made, I used the restroom and toured the dining room. It was moderately clean and they have the most enchanting patio with heat lamps and paper lanterns laden on wooden vertical pallets around the tables, perfect ambience for a date night. . The curry dishes were warm, large and delicious. There's a slight spiciness to the broth and it also comes with a small bowl of white rice. It can easily be split into two servings depending on your hunger level, but I always slurp it down in one sitting. If you want hearty food on these colder winter nights, Thai Delight lives up to its name!

Hole in the wall. Ask for sitting in the patio we were surprised with the beautiful view. The food was great and service is very friendly. Price is good. Great place to chill and have great food after exploring SLO.
A huge thank you!!!!! They let us place a to go order 3 mins before they closed. We were all starving after a long drive from the Bay Area with a hungry toddler in the back. The food was excellent. We had a veggie noodle dish, pumpkin curry, and tofu fried rice. It was ready in 5 mins. We eat a lot of thai food and this was top tier. The staff was so friendly with my toddler too! Leaving with full stomachs and hearts. Thank you, Thai Delight! Especially the young lady with French braids 🙏.
Had an excellent experience here! The food was awesome and the ambience was perfect. We loved the patio seating. Our kids had a great time, and the staff were so friendly and attentive. Highly recommend for families looking for delicious food and a welcoming atmosphere. We will surely go again when we visit again ! 😊
I almost don't want to say how wonderful this was because it will get too crowded. But that would be selfish. We went with friends and my husband went reluctantly because he is a meat and potatoes guy- doesn't really like ethnic foods. We decided to let our friends order since they had been there before. Most important was to have the food not too spicy. Everything came out just great! We had beef salad as a starter. A plus. Phad thai noodles with chicken-same. Thai basil chicken also spectacular. But the star was the mango tango fish. My husband doesn't eat fish-at all. Well, i think he's going to sneak out and get a whole one for himself! This was a white fish with a nice crispy shell and a mango chutney type side placed all over it. This dish is beyond incredible. We will be back!
Amazing Thai place in SLO. We ordered pineapple fried rice, exotic fried rice, drunken noodles, green curry. All of the items were made vegetarian friendly and were delicious. Highly recommend.

Good and friendly service. Food is well spiced. Many vegetarian options available as well. They were happy to serve us even 15 minutes before closing time.
It was crowded and noisy. The only available seating was outdoors on a chilly, rainy evening. The overhead heaters were nice.
Some of my order wesswthe thrown awera
My door dash order was messed up, but they made it right. Really good thai food, I stick to the authentic side, it's not for everyone
Great all-around Thai option in SLO. Each of the entree options like pad Thai or yellow curry are $15 which is about average although maybe on the higher side, and while nothing special were filling and satisfying, as expected. We asked about non-dairy options for the Thai tea and they have coconut and almond options, though the original and coconut drinks we tried were bland in comparison to many others we’ve tried. Great service and we can tell the staff was hustling and doing a great job
In a word, decent. Ordered Khao Soi and tasted like your standard yellow curry you might make at home. Generous portion of chicken, vegetables were not side plated, which I would have preferred, and tasted pretty standard. People were friendly and patio is quite nice. Price was on the more affordable side, so it’s hard to hold it against them. May come back on a weekday and try the lunch special.
Solid Thai and a nice outside seating area. Service was a little slow and the quality felt very middle of the road but we enjoyed our food enough to return.
Decent Thai food and pleasant surroundings. We were hungry and tired (long travel day) so we were glad (and surprised) when our food arrived quickly. Decent portions- we got the tofu yellow curry and chicken pad Thai. The curry had nice chunky vegetables (onion, potato, carrot) that weren’t overcooked. It was a bit too sweet for my taste, but he liked it. Gotta say the pad Thai wasn’t like any other I’ve had - the sauce was more like a gravy, and there wasn’t much bean sprouts. It was good - just different. If you’re really hungry, you might need to include an appetizer, but we weren’t so it was perfect.
Amazing experience from the moment we walked in. The staff were very attentive and responsive, always checking in on us. We ordered Tom yum soup, green papaya salad, fresh heaven rolls, red thai curry, paradise fried rice and beef pleasing garlic. I would have to say the green papaya salad was super fresh, tasty and definitely sparked our appetite. The Paradise fried rice has so many components and the raisin was surprisingly a good ingredient to balance all the flavours. However, I didn't quite enjoy the beef pleasing garlic as I find it saltier than I would like. For dessert, we ordered mango sticky rice and fried banana with vanilla ice cream. What a wonderful way to end our meal. That mango sticky rice was perfectly warm and just had the right amount of sweetness. Overall, a great experience and would definitely come back here again.
Very generous with portions. The Tom-ka soup is great. Pumkin curry with crispy pork was off the hook. Mongolian beef was alright. Outdoor sitting was a plus.

Our family of 3 out of towners stopped by for dinner on a weekday eve. The food was good, short wait time and decent service. My wife pad that was ok but my fired rice was good.
A decent lunch spot. Arrived at 12:30, ordered a lunch pad Thai with chicken and a sweetened black iced tea. The back patio and courtyard was pretty, pleasant and well shaded on a nice sunny afternoon. Food took 20 minutes from ordering to arriving at the table but you get a light and tangy little cup of house soup while you wait. The pad Thai was filling and saucy (good mouth feel) but overall not very flavorful and distinctly lacking the tanginess one would want/expect from the dish. Was served with a side salad and some white rice. The tea was the best part of the meal, very refreshing and flavorful. Looking forward to checking back after the have been re-opened for a while longer.
Ordered uber and it came quickly. Food was average not great but also not terrible. Sticky rice portion was really small. Beef Larb lacked the citrusy/herbaceous flavor I’m used to. Green papaya salad was missing that fermented fish sauce. Mango sticky rice was very good.
Last night me and my wife decided to try out this re-opened Thai restaurant and placed an order online for pickup. We were given an estimate of 20 minutes to pickup so we left our home and were there in 15 minutes. We ended having to wait over 20 minutes for the food to be ready because as we got there the food was not yet being prepared. Once we got the food and came home it was average compared to other Thai restaurants in the area nothing amazing. I really do hope they improve their pickup system to be more realistic on when the food would be ready in the future.

The food is pretty good for the SLO area. However, the service leaves something to be desired. As a college student, I come here often and it’s always the same. They consistently forget about us, are slow, and never pick up the check. We always end up having to walk up to the counter because we’re tired of waiting. Come for the food but don’t expect much else.

Sadly, the most flavorless pad thai I've ever had :( not worth the money. And I've had a lot of thai food before. But they're spring rolls were tasty.
That's two bad experiences ordering pickup here. My food was just sitting ready for 40 minutes while I was made to think they were still making it then made to feel stupid for wondering why it just sat there while others picked up food. The food is great here but there are plenty of other Thai places in slo 👋
Their food wasn’t even that good. Pad Thai is way too sweet and oily. Pad See Ew it should be savory but again too sweet. I’m not even Thai who doesn’t know authentic Thai food but I can tell that this place doesn’t know how to cook. Not even worth a try.
Not sure what the hype is about this place! Food here is very average. I've been to many other Thai restaurants which do a much better job than this restaurant. Since we were quite unsure about what to order, we had asked for vegetarian recommendations from the waitress. They suggested Tofu Delight, Red Curry and Drunken Noodles. Tofu Delight: Very very bland. Sweet and Sour sauce on the side was bland too! Red Curry: Great Presentation. Looks very appetizing. But taste was below average. Kinda disappointed with the veggie portions. Most of the veggies weren't cooked well too. Drunken Noodles: Again, looks appetizing. Tastes pretty bland. We had asked for extra red sauce, and were offered packed red sauce curry packets. This is probably the first Thai restaurant which didn't offer fresh chili/chilli powder.
