What an amazing find Situated back in oakwood plaza is this unassuming yet amazingly good restaurant. Upon entrance you are immersed into a cozy yet hip spot with booths tables and elevated tables with bar stools. The staff are warm and friendly greeting you like family and the waitress was wonderful coming back to the table to refill drinks and check in on us. Love this place Highly recommended Pizza was great and salads fresh
I'd been living in area a year and never stopped by. Tonite figured if the situation could show how they were it would. Very clean friendly staff. Vast menu decent prices and full selections. Eggplant rollatini was very good and my date had the chix parm. Plenty of food for leftover. Will go back again
Outstanding food wish we had taken pictures before. The calamari was wonderful and fresh!! The pizza was an outstanding Italian thin crust with magical sauces. The salmon of his wife is Amazing!! My wife also liked the salad enough to have everyone try a bite... wow great service and food in a busy mall area.
What an amazing place traditional Italian restaurant must try the pizza our server Stacy was a sweetheart. Thank you all at sals very much
We spent my son’s birthday dinner at Sal’s, and we had an amazing time! The food was absolutely delicious, with every dish exceeding our expectations. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. It was the perfect place to celebrate such a special occasion, and we will definitely be back! Highly recommend!
I went here yesterday since its close to my hotel and in my opinion everything was great The food was incredible, and they gave u sides with it. Since they gave sides, i expected the amount of main food to be small, but it was massive. The food also tasted amazing, i ordered the pennr alla vodka and it was the best pasta I ever tried. The atmosphere was pretty good, I liked the music and the writings and drawings on the walls. The service was amazing, the workers were super kind and it just added to the already great experience. I would give this place 6 stars if i could
We were looking for a spaghetti type dinner. Sal’s is a short drive from our hotel. The atmosphere is kind of cool. It was fun looking at the table top 3D artwork. My lasagna was very hot and delicious. The chef came out to chat with my wife about gluten content. We were seated right away and ordered wine and dinner. The food was great, the buns are baked on site and are light and brushed with garlic butter (I brought 2 home). Service was excellent. Would I go again? Absolutely but. Live a long way away unfortunately.
Food is great but pricey, nice place
First off, the atmosphere of the place was super cute. I love the detail of the decor in the restaurant. The food was pretty good, I got their cheese ravioli. But the best part was our server, Sue. She was absolutely wonderful! Her energy was phenomenal and she was super helpful! I highly suggest asking for her once you get here.
Went 15 mins before close and food still came out great despite that. The guy taking our order is always super kind
Came here at 5 PM with a family of 5 and we were all able to enjoy the Early Bird Specials, which are an amazing deal! Portions are generous, food comes out piping hot, and is absolutely delicious. Sue, our waitress, was phenomenal and very attentive. We are so glad we chose this restaurant!
We had a great time. Our food was delicious. Arthur was our server and he was very attentive and customer service oriented. We are coming back!
This is my second visit to Sal’s, and once again, it didn’t disappoint! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the service is excellent, and everything—from the tables to the restrooms—is spotless. The background music adds a nice touch without being too loud, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a good meal. They also have a wide menu with plenty of delicious options to choose from, so there’s something for everyone. This time I ordered a large Margherita pizza ($23.99) and two sodas ($3.99 each, with refills included). The prices are very reasonable for the quality and portion size. Our waiter was amazing—attentive, friendly, and always checking to make sure everything was perfect. Overall, an excellent place with great food, wonderful service, and a pleasant vibe. I’ll definitely be coming back!
The food was amazing! Real Italian food. Our waitress Shannon was very attentive and friendly. Will definitely go back.
Shout out to our waiter his name was David he made the experience what it was. I played the never been here before test and he passed with above and beyond expectations, he suggested the honey sirracha wings and also said they are known for 🍕 as well. The wings were amazing my girl said 4.5/5 I said 5/5. The pizza was solid 4/5 my girl said the pasta was fresh and you can tell it's homemade pasta. We will definitely be back tipped 20 dollars to try the pasta myself she didn't share 😂.
A very pleasant surprise to a group of tourists!!! We had the lunch special and an order of wings. The special came with a half sub, a salad or soup, and a humongous piece of pizza. All of our food was hot and delicious. Our waiter was patient and helpful but did not hover. It was a great experience!

Great Italian! I had Sal's sampler and it was delicious! I also grabbed a canoli to go. I would definitely eat here again. Awesome gem hidden in the back.

We loved it. Authentic Italian food. The tables are pretty close together though.
A very charming atmosphere with great service and delicious food. I recommend trying the calzone. If I'm back in the area, I'm sure to stop back in
Google shows they are closed. We'll they are not closed. Spaghetti was outstanding. Desert was even better. Thank you very much. So glad you were open
Sal’s has quickly become my favorite. The menu is one of the most impressive I’ve seen in a long time, and their place has a cozy, inviting vibe. It’s family-owned, and you feel that pride the moment you walk in. The manager is genuinely kind, his staff are always hustling, and the energy there is like being in your home kitchen. Whether I’m grabbing a slice, picking up dinner, or settling in for a date, it always hits the mark. Even the tables have their own personality—artsy, a little quirky, and completely charming. If you want great Italian food with heart behind it, this is your place.
A simple, unpretentious place with truly authentic homemade Italian food. Every dish tastes like it was made in a real Italian kitchen — fresh, flavorful, and full of love. Definitely a hidden gem.
I really liked this restaurant. The food was really good. It deserves more than 4.1 stars. Homemade Italian food. An underrated restaurant.
Shannon was a very sweet server. Very quick and professional. Super attentive. While I was eating, other customers came in and asked for her. I will definitely be coming again. The food is awesome!

UPDATE: I finally returned after my last review. My friends and I had a great time and received awesome service. Not sure what happened to the rude server from my prior review but I'm just HAPPY she wasn't there. I can finally return to one of my favorite restaurants! --------- Love their food but service is HORRIBLE! The server needs a total attitude adjustment she is very RUDE. Because of her my dine in experience was TERRIBLE! Since I really love their food I'll either start doing take out, which is a shame, or I'll have to find another Italian restaurant. Just thinking of the way the server treated me saddens me.
The service and the food is amazing. The environment is great. I love it. This is my new Italian spot in East Broward . The seating is comfortable, music is nice and low in the background, the flavors on the food is on spot . Highly recommended to everyone.

Love this place. Fresh ingredients and great people!
My car smelled so good! This was our order: bean soup, sampler, spaghetti and meatballs, garlic rolls, side salad, fried mozzarella and fried avocados. It was good.
Did not appreciate seeing my wattress assembling my salad in the kitchen section with no gloves on. Service was extremely slow for a Saturday night.
This was my second time here. The first experience was great, which is why I decided to go back. This time, unfortunately, was not very good from a customer service standpoint. My friend and I got there shortly after 8:00pm. The waitress didn't even greet us but said the kitchen closes in 10 minutes. We were contemplating leaving, however, the manager told us to stay. We felt rushed and her attitude was definitely not helping. She was so dry with her responses and unpleasant. We could hear her asking her coworker if he was going to stay, only to see her walk out a few minutes later after she served us our salad. She didn't even tell us goodbye or that another person would be taking over, which I found disrespectful. Sammy, who took over, was pleasant so I'm grateful for that. It was my friend's birthday and that first waitress almost spoiled it with her attitude. Sammy made up for it (not knowing that it was my friend's birthday). When I asked him what time they closed, he told me 9:00pm. This made it even worse since the restaurant would have still been open on her shift, had the place been a bit more busy (it was just us and one other person who was there from before. Another table of two came in about 20 minutes after us). The food was very good like the first time. My friend had the pasta, but she said it tasted very milky. Maybe because they rushed it, it didn't get a chance to cook through. It eventually upset her stomach later that evening. I wanted dessert but as usual, didn't have the space for it lol. The menus are a bit outdated and need to be reprinted. The tables there are a pretty cool features. I would recommend this place for the food, and hopefully you will get a pleasant waiter/waitress. Thank you Sammy for letting the night end better than it started. Cheers!

I'm staying at a nearby hotel during a long layover. I was headed to another restaurant when I saw Sal's and figured I would try them instead. The place was packed so I expected I'd have a small wait (15-20 min) but my actual wait ended up being 50 min. This was not due to the busieness, just the fact they didn't tell me my order was ready. If I hadn't went and asked for an update I probably would have continued to wait for no reason. I understand mistakes happen but they didn't even make any attempt to apologize for the oversight. Poor customer service coupled with slightly burnt lasagna made me regret my decision to try them.
Recipes have changed, you will taste it. Prices have gone up, you will notice. Service is still awful! House salad dressing good, ceasar ok, wings not worth it. Pizza ok, and Chicken parmesan good, used to be better before sauce change, plus my pasta and sauce were cold, but after waiting so long for food who would bother sending something back. Management really needs to reconsider the marketing in order to facilitate better service, quality, and more satisfied quests. The service system in place seriously need a complete overhaul just to scratch the service, but I'm sure they don't want to pay for all that training. This place if for you if your older, retired, have hours to spend on a mediocre meal at s more than price, when you don't feel like driving all the way to il mulino in fort Lauderdale which is way better and lunch will even costs much less but I digress. Also, would even order food to go to avoid dining experience if you offered curb side pick up.

If I could leave zero reviews I would. GROSS GROSS GROSS I ordered takeout from this restaurant . When I arrived at the restaurant, none of the employees were wearing facemasks or latex gloves as per Broward county orders. The restaurant did not seem sanitized or cleaned. I ordered their lunch special- salad, ham and cheese sandwich, soup and fries. Upon inspection of my food - The salad- Black wet mold growing on the lettuce - sandwich- looked like slop. with the same moldy lettuce. For some reason they decided to toast the sandwich. Uneatable - Everything else was cold and i had to throw away. waste of my hard earned money, but I did not want to risk getting sick. In a time where restaurants are taking extra precautions to make sure their food and restaurants are clean and sanitary.... Sals is doing the exact opposite. This place needs to be SHUT DOWN IMMEDIATELY.
Can't rate food. Waited over one hour but never got served. Can't rate service. We got none.
Good afternoon, I am writing to express my disappointment with the service I received at Sal Ristorante in Oakwood Plaza, Hollywood, FL, on Saturday, March 15, at 7:15 pm. My partner and I visited the restaurant with the intention of ordering a pizza to go, but despite standing inside for 10 minutes, not a single staff member acknowledged us. Although the restaurant was fully occupied with a significant number of patrons, there were three servers on duty, and I made a conscious effort to establish eye contact, yet none of them approached us. I felt embarrassed as the dining customers stared at us, seemingly perplexed by our presence. This level of service is unacceptable in any establishment. Before departing without receiving any service, my partner and I engaged in conversation and laughter. Notably, the restaurant's clientele was predominantly Caucasian, whereas my partner and I are African American.
Pizza was burnt and and inedible....the veal parms were chewy....the garlic rolls were good.the girl in front as well as manager Jon HORRIBLE...NO WONDER THEY ARE DOING SO BAD..FOOD IS DISGUSTING!!
*FOOD ALLERGIES BE AWARE* I called the restaurant Sunday before placing a delivery order because I have a specific food allergy. After some back and forth with the person who answered my call (and them checking with someone else at the restaurant) we came to the conclusion that the pizza sauce would be safe and that I could order most items on the menu and be ok After starting to eat it tasted a little off and called back to find out the sauce is mixed with another sauce that has the item i am allergic to. I asked for a manager Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday and apparently, they are not in any of those days. Instead, the people I have been able to speak to did nothing but yell at me and tell me that "its only milligrams its not a big deal" and various other excuses. I explained how a food allergy is not something they should take lightly and i was essentially laughed at.
Just a bad experience. Never took the time to take my order. We left to find another restaurant. The food smelled wonderful. But waiter couldn't be bothered taking our order. So we left.
Terrible experience with this restaurant with Delivery orders. They took my address wrong, and because of their mistake my order arrived way later than promised. On top of that, the driver called the restaurant and started talking rude about me with the guy that I was talking to, as if it was my fault. No professionalism, no accountability, no respect for customers. I’ll never order from here again and don’t recommend this place at all.
I was in florida visiting from out of town. Whenever i am out of town i always look on local flavor or groupon to see what deals there are for different restaurants. I found this place and drove 30 minutes to try it. I read the fine print (pictured in my review) and noticed that you cannot use it during ‘special events’. So i went in and asked if there was a special event going on… I showed the manager (pictured) … (He may be an owner)….my coupon and he told me that i had to spend $100 in order to use it. I told him that this was not mentioned in the fine print. He told me to “eat somewhere else” and that he “doesnt care what the fine print says” … The way his attitude was i decided to take the loss with my coupon and eat elsewhere. He was well aware that i was going to leave a review and began to taunt me on my way out. I was the only person of color in the restaurant… So Im not sure if it was a race thing, if he cant read, or if he just wanted more money. Either way it goes i do not appreciate the way i was treated. DO NOT BUY A COUPON, BECAUSE THEY WILL MAKE THIER OWN RULES! DO NOT BUY A COUPON, BECAUSE THEY WILL MAKE THEIR OWN RULES!
I will never order from Sals again. We work very close to this location and order frequently there. We have had prior issues before and made the mistake to think each time was an isolated issue and won't be disappointed again. We ordered a NY silcilian pizza, which states it is thick cut square slices. This pizza costs more than the regular pizza. We waited over an hour for delivery and opened the pizza and it was a very thin pizza cut into small squares. There were a few of us eating this and it was smaller than a regular pizza. When I called sals, the manager first said that is the new dough they use. Then she said they ran out of the dough for the silcilian. I expressed that they should have contacted me before they made it to communicate that they ran out of the dough. I requested a refund and it was first told that I can get another pizza in a credit for next time. I declined and requested a refund. The girl would not give me a refund or her name but said she was the manager of Sals. She told me to call the delivery company for a refund. When I stated I wanted her to see the pizza in a photo, she admitted she knew what it looked like when they made it. The fact that she thought this was acceptable as a manager is horrible. The pizza itself was $25 and we ordered 6 garlic rolls. With the delivery fee, tip, and another service charge, the order total was $41.00. If anyone knows what a silcilian looks like, it's very thick squares. We even added to make the pizza well done. It was not well done. Very disappointing as the sizes of the squares was not enough for all of us. I gave up eating any so my coworkers could have enough. The pizza was greasy and was not sufficient to eat. Do better Sals.

Customer service is a bit lacking, the pizza is a generous size but the price is up there... I almost threw up when I saw today that they got ordered shut down by inspector, they wouldn't even let the reporter inspect if they had fixed the problem. Definitely won't be coming back there...
Me and my grandmom went to eat on Thursday around 7:06PM We came in and the service told us we could sit anywhere. We waited more than 10 for 25 minutes We order our drinks and then we order our food. We order spaghetti with sauce and meatballs, my grandmom, and Me the spaghetti was not that great but the price was incredible. The total came to $66.28 that is too expensive for two spaghetti and for two drinks first time and last time that I go there
