It has been a while, but never disappoints. I was happy to point out my favorites to a new customer from SC. Ribs, of course, but the potato is a meal for 3-4! He didn’t believe me. The green beans and mac-n-cheese are always something to write home about. Pretty sure his family ordered almost one of everything in total. He followed me out the door to tell me how good it was. I hope he told yall, too.

I had heard reviews of this place all over the internet on websites such as Reddit and decided to give it a shot on my way back home from New Orleans. The pork ribs were as tender as can be and the Mac n cheese was to die for! To tie it all together I put the rib meat on the bread with Mac n cheese and some of their white BBQ sauce and it was absolutely scrumptious. I highly recommend Saw’s BBQ, and I would like to mention a man who worked here by the name of Daniel who was very hospitable and generous to my family and I during our time here.

We ate here on a Sunday afternoon. They were busy but we were seated immediately and had the sweetest waitress! I wish I’d written down her name, but she told us she was from Texas, so hopefully the managers will know who I’m referring to. The pimento cheese/pork rinds were amazing! Highly recommend!

Great hometown barbecue joint in a cozy setting! Was busy, but not packed at lunchtime on a Saturday. Food came out quickly and was nice and hot. Ordered two pulled pork plates, one with baked beans and mac & cheese and the other with potato salad and deviled eggs. Pork was excellent and all the sides were great (the potato salad is smoother than you usual get it, for reference). Crushed ice in the drinks was a nice bonus.

We're visiting the area and was told by some locals that we had to try Saw's if we were looking for BBQ. Of course it was one of the best BBQ spots I've been too. Nice local joint, pork was so tender and flavorful and the chicken was packed with flavor also. We got the Pork Tater and Chicken Tater with a medium side of Mac & cheese. I'm a huge fan of BBQ stuffed potatoes so I was happy that they had a few options on the menu. The Mac & cheese wasn't my favorite, but it was ok. I'm glad we got to stop by and try it out!

I used Saw’s for catering a work event and wow! Best BBQ i think I’ve ever had. Every item was a hit, the pulled pork and mac and cheese is especially good. They were also so kind and accommodating. 10/10 would recommend!

My husband and I have been to a lot of BBQ restaurants and haven’t found one that we really like yet. Saw’s made our BBQ dreams come true! I had the pulled pork platter w/ Mac n cheese and coleslaw. The pork was so moist and tender and the best I’ve had since living in Alabama. The Mac n cheese tasted like real and homemade Mac n cheese. So much texture and gooeyness to it. The coleslaw has an awesome taste to it. My husband ordered the chicken platter w/ Mac n cheese and potato salad. I tried the chicken and again so moist and tender. We also ordered a chili baker that we shared. We split it in half because it was so big and filling. Now we have leftovers for dinner as we couldn’t finish our entrees. We took everything to go and the service was fast. Thanks for making my birthday!

Came from out of state. The first thing I did was look at reviews and ask locals about good bbq. After making the decision to eat at Saw's, I had my next challenge of which one. With different menus, it was hard to choose, but the ribs were the deciding factor for me, so we went to Homewood and boy were they worth it! My family sampled the ribs (great - fall off the bone), pulled pork (great - moist/not dry), chicken (great - loved the white sauce), beans (good), potato salad (great), deviled eggs (ok), Mac n cheese (good) & greens (ok). Overall, very pleased and I would definitely recommend this establishment to anyone that wants to try some great bbq.

Overall the restaurant and my experience was decent for making a to-go order. I realize that this was the original location for Saw's but I was disappointed to know that there were a few items on the menu that I wanted to order and that I had tried at other Saw's locations around Birmingham but they weren't on the menu at this location. The BBQ chicken sandwich was good, the service was fast and the atmosphere was decent because there were only a handful of people there when I visited so that was good for timing.
