We visit this restaurant often!! The staff there is super nice, and it's always a nice experience to go there!! Not to mention, their food is really, really good!!!!

In town for the day my friend and I stopped in to have something to eat. The food was delicious. Very large portions and reasonable prices. The best part was the waitstaff the girls were lovely very friendly and professional. The food came in a timely manner, five stars hands down.

Lets start with service. Tracy was fun, funny and cute. She was an excellent waitress and very easy on the eyes. The food: perfect. Homemade. Just excellent. I had chowder...loved it. Then a fish sandwich which are usually so-so. Not this one. Light and tasty. She was cutting homemade pies which looked and smelled delicious. I have 2...to go...I will update when devoured. Not a chain. I like that. Great place.

great for the most part. one of the waitresses my mom and I had. was very rude she served my moms food 15 min before mine. so my mom was done by the time I got mine. no tip was left for her. apparently I'm not the only one to experience that with this certain waitress.... but any other time it's amazing service. love it! I love this place, it's has been like a second home for my son and I. For many years my son Colton and I went here becasue he was treated like family, " LORI" would let him clean tables, her and the girls would tip him for his hard work. Just treating him like he was important and not different for havig autism. Being a " loyal " customer doesn't have conditions attached to better suit the need of breaking their company policies. If you come into my gym you become family, but you/ we still have rules. We provide a service to our community, but as a business we still have policies to keep the order. no matter if they are agreeable to the customer. I had the fried chicken dinner with mashed potatoes and chicken gravy. The chicken was very crispy and not oily, the chicken gravy actually had chunks of chicken in it. The cost was minimal for what I got. I'd recommend this place to everyone.

As to be expected with a diner the food and service was great. The portions are huge. The grits were the best I’ve had at a restaurant.

I absolutely love Billy Schu’s. I’ve been coming to this restaurant since I was a child and their food has always been phenomenal. Staff is extremely kind, and the atmosphere is great. Billy Schu’s is the best restaurant in Hornell!

Absolute gem of a place! Our usual breakfast spot was closed, so we tried Billy Schu's. So glad we did! The food was great, and the staff was even better. Will definitely be back!

It was an awesome place to eat! A small place, but the people were very friendly. The best part were our sandwiches! Better than some of the fancy places we've been. Food is pretty good and the prices match what you get - good value, which saves this place. Holding it back: very noisy and chaotic atmosphere during busy times, with country music in the background adding to the mix. A little disorganized - your table's plates will arrive sporadically, leading to that awkward experience of eating in front of your friends while they wait for theirs. Sometimes there are long waits to get things ordered or to get your check at the end.

Doesn't matter if only cash .. they got the order perfect! Exactly as I asked . Real steak not chopped steak🥰

The taco salad and turkey julienne salads not only looked appetizing but were satisfying and tasted very fresh. Be sure to take cash though as they don't take credit cards.

Bill Schu's is a great destination to find classic comfort food at a fair price. A personal favorite is the pancakes as they are available almost everywhere, but not many compare to the fluffy disks that Schu's keeps coming. Cheers🍻

This place is really nice and it has great food. The only thing that bothered me was that it took 30 minutes for them to actually take my order. I wouldn't blame them because their seating was full and they were really busy at the moment. I would recommend.

I loved this place when i first heard about them...and they kept their prices low as long as they could til they had to raise the prices...smh, crazy! $15-$20 on yourself here! Saving my money til i can afford it here again!! Their dishes are AMAZING here!! So, defintely worth it when its affordable!! 😁😛😛👍👍

Great breakfast place. cash only!! The staff were very friendly and the service was quick. The prices were very good and the portion sizes are huge. Their home fries are a must try. The atmosphere and ambience inside gave very strong right-wing vibes. Things like "guns are permitted in premises". That did not make us uncomfortable at all because the people were so friendly. Will definitely stop here next time I'm here.

Walked in and sat down, made eye contact with the waitress and she proceeded to take care of two other tables before someone else walked up front and asked if we had been taken care of. The prime rib on on the open face sandwich was really dry and the side of fries was skimpy and most of them were burnt. Usually have a decent experience, this time was not so great.

We got the meatloaf special for takeout. It was supposed to come with meatloaf, potato, veggie, and roll. We got no veggie and no roll. I recommend you check your takeout order before leaving.

Cute little place with good service. Food was pretty bland and sub par at most. It was a good experience until I didn't get my reheated watered down Macaroni and cheese to go, the whole service and friendliness disappeared. I didn't complain about the food or anything but was met with such an attitude. Then when I went to cash out I was told no debit cards, which is fine but the tiny sign on the door doesn't do anything when you have a specials board out front. Again major attitude with it. I was really upset leaving because I would never treat a person so unkind, especially in the service industry. I could have went and taken my tip back but I didn't because I do not believe rudeness needs to be returned. Please do better with your food and customer service

Both me and my wife had intestinal distress over either the tuna salad or the clam chowder. Shuold have had the steak special I guess.

Only accepts cash and local checks, so not the best place to go when traveling. Hot orders at a table for 2 were delivered 10 minutes apart, which was pretty awkward. Food was good, though.

The waitress we had was mad because we asked if I could get a coffee because my Dr. Pepper was flat tasting. She proceeded to get snappy telling me it was just from a can she just opened it and it wasn't from a fountain but that she would even though it was new. People do get flat soda even in cans and brand new bottles. Also after bringing the links I let her know we were ready to order and she seemed very annoyed. I wasn't rude and neither was my mother. All we did was ask for a coffee and said that the soda had tasted a little flat. Most would just apologize and call it good but she got snappy and defensive. For our first time being there I wasn't impressed by the waitress we had. Food was good. The other waitress seemed nice. Prices are pretty cheap.

Went to this quaint friendly restaurant for a Friday night fish fry. My husband an I both ordered the fish fry, french fries and Mac n cheese... The service was great but the fish was terribly greasy. I was disappointed because it was over 30.00 including dissert. We ordered a piece of peanut butter pie. It's was 3.24, great pie but way to small of a piece so I ordered two of them.. very yummy... I think if they would have let the grease drip off the fish it may have been better.

Food was very greasy. I should have known better. I DO NOT like the "brown" on my omelet. Especially when I have to pay for it. Typical greasy spoon. But.....the wait staff was very pleasant.

Should have known when sat down and penny left for tip from prior person. Waitress was busy chatting and looking at phone with ladies at counter so took awhile to come to table. Ordered burger well done it was not. Never came back to table to give refill on drink. It wasn't busy at all. Would not go back or recommend.

Waitress was rude and dismissal. Informed us we needed to hurry and order because she had things to do. Never came back to check or refill coffee. We had to wait to pay out bill while she stood and flirted with the kitchen staff. VERY unsatisfied.

I was there for Breakfest ordered the NY strip and eggs the steak was spoiled and the waitress told me I can not be spoiled it was frozen when it comes in so please tell me how do you cook a medium rare steak from frozen in 10 mins I will never go back

Don't bring your family here! The owners (Ian and Lori) are very rude and disrespectful to their employees and any customer that complains. If you complain about one little thing they will treat you like your the problem. I thought it was a very toxic environment definitely not suitable for family dining. The bathrooms almost never work from constant plugging, yet when Ian cleans it, he never washes his hands before returning to cooking. So your getting feces and whatever else is in the sewage in your food. He always pays health officials and anyone that has the ability to shut him down. Avoid at all costs!

I would give zero stars if possible. I was astonished at the disrespect shown towards a customer today. After asking the man what happened, he explained that they had put mushrooms in his omlette by mistake and would not remake his order. He is allergic to mushrooms and they merely offered a .25 cent refund and then told the disabled man to "shove his food down his throat". A direct quote I heard from the manager. I am amazed that an establishment that begged for the community to help them through the Covid shutdown would do this to a patron. I will NEVER spend another nickel in this place....these people should be ashamed of themselves.

As soon as we walked in, the waiters yelled at us about shutting the door. (I had a big family and we were try to all get inside). Maybe they changed, but my family and I will not be going here again for awhile because of how rude they were.

Restaurant is badly designed and cold. Food is subpar and expensive. Parking is a city lot that is always full. Listening to the cooks yell is always a treat. Used to be our favorite lunch place but after two unhappy visits we've cut our losses. Really wish another good family restaurant would open in Hornell.

Omelette was brown not yellow we asked for crispy bacon was not crispy, I had to go find my server to get my order put in. Toast was cold and butter just put in a glob. Was not very happy with anything but the homefries they were delicious.

I have always had good food and service here, but NOT today! Embarrassing! I invited a friend who had never been here and it turned out being a really bad choice. When my friend asked for small pancakes, she was told the cook only does big pancakes and sure enough, the “big” blueberry pancake was RAW in the middle. The raw pancake was replaced but who are they serving, patrons or the cook. The restaurant wasn’t busy and we we’re offered coffee refills often. Would have been nice if the waitress had been a little more friendly. Sure hope she was just having a difficult morning. I don’t think I’ll be returning to this restaurant.

1 employee can do so much damage. The waitress we had was absolutely the worst. We sat at the counter because they were very busy and didn’t want to take up a whole table for just 2 of us. The waitress went from handling dirty plates and sticking her finger in something gooey (she made it verbal) wiped off her hand with a napkin. Then grabbed someone’s order and took it to them. Not once did she wash her hands between handling dirty dishes and bringing people their food the whole time we were there. She repetitively stacked dirty dishes right next to where I was sitting. She was doing this with such vigor that at one instance something flew off the dirty plates and landed on my toast. I completely lost my appetite at that point. I won’t ever be going back. I don’t like leaving bad reviews but if this is how they operate, then people need to know.

Usually I’ve never had any issues there food in my opinion has been 5 stars. But the last 2 times I’ve ordered food from there it’s been raw?! Or wasn’t even done.... can someone explain this?. The first time it was bad so I called and just explained it to them and let it go but this time I ordered 2 special the meatloaf sandwich special which was cold , bland and gritty very dry the second was a grill cheese and it wasn’t even cooked it was just 2 fresh slices of cheese...... can someone please fix this!!! Everything lately has been good but the food.

Myself and My family came to have a nice breakfast this morning. The food was excellent, although our waitress was not. She was very rude to my mother in law, who can only have drinks with no caffeine, and acted as if it was a chore to serve her a drink. Then, as she was taking out orders she was rudely rushing us to order. She rudely told our 4 year old to move. Then as we were all leaving our 1 year old made a mess on the floor, which we planned to clean up ourselves anyway, she rudely asked us if we planned on cleaning this up. Of course we did. unfortunately because of this waitress we will no longer be eating here.

Went for the fish fry not good at all. Batter for the fish was soggy and not cooked, coleslaw was very bland , mac and cheese over cooked and mush staff was nice on pick up just not a fan of the food cook needs help!

What an absolute disaster. If you're not local I wouldn't recommend. Waitresses talk bad about every customer they don't know to the regulars. Cash only but not posted ANYWHERE! They will recommend going to 7-11 next door but that ATM has been out of service for weeks. Felt like I could use a sanitizer bath and a tetanus shot after leaving. Yuck... Don't know how place passes health inspection.

Lori is an awful person. Absolutely disgusting service and treatment of customers. My dad and I have been loyal customers for about a decade and leave a great tip every time. Today, took my daughter who has issues with food and normally would never bring outside food from elsewhere, but with her eating issues, she had a small egg sandwich she could eat brought from outside. We were told we can't do that very rudely. After years of loyalty, we got up and left and will never return again. I hope this place goes out of business. Shameful way to treat customers and a 7 year old little girl. Shame on the owner Lori. You took your example you wanted to make out on a 7 yr old little girl. How classy of you! Pathetic!
