OMG! Sliced brisket nirvana! Best potato salad as well. Worth the drive! Ribs and sausage were also excellent, but that brisket!!!! You can taste the seasoning from the smoker itself. The little bits of carmelized fat are treasures on otherwise lean but juicy slices. I can't believe it has taken me over a year of being here to find this place!

Great Customer service! Best burger around this area. The beef brisket is tender and full of flavor. Just wish you all had pulled pork. Love the convenience of the drive through.

I can’t believe I would always pass this place up! Since our 1st visit about 2 months ago it has become our go to bbq spot! We’ve already been quite a few times! The bbq has a great taste very soft. Chopped beef is my go to and it’s delicious my husband gets the meat combo plate and it’s mouth watering! Staff is nice 😊

It was nice and quiet, the lunch was perfect to the order. The employees were happy and helpful, food was delicious,and the iced tea was just like I make mine. We will definitely be going to lunch there more often.

I came here for the first time on 12/20 but only to pick up my order I seen on the website they were having a “special of the week” deal which was a chopped beef sandwich and a side order for 9.99 so that’s what I got. I ordered over the phone which was quick and easy I got the dirty rice for my side and got a Mexican coke to wash it all down. All together I paid about 15 bucks so the price was worth it, now for the sandwich it was so dang good! 😌 the chop beef was chopped to perfection with a good smoky flavor and the sandwich itself was pretty big,I did have a side of barbecue sauce but unfortunately I couldn’t get to the rice 😅 I was full but I will say I will definitely be coming back so if you’re in this area, give them a try and they do have a drive thru window 🪟

My first time here! I sure do hate I've lived in the area for 8 months now and only just now checking this place out. The sliced brisket sandwich was perfect. I didn't get the lean slices, and I kept the sauce on the side so I could taste the brisket. It was very good. I also liked that the bun was warm. :) Also had their potato salad. Creamy & Tasty. And I couldn't leave without having a slice of the pecan pie. ;) The space itself could use a few updates for Aesthetics, but otherwise, very good menu selection, so I'll definitely be planning a family dinner soon! :)

Stellar customer service!! Barney's BBQ is great everytime we come here to eat. I ordered the Rodeo Special which includes a Chopped Beef Sandwich and a Loaded Baked Potato, and my brother ordered the Two Meat Plate (Brisket and Ribs) with Loaded Mashed Potatoes and Baked Beans. Both of our meals were fantastic!!! The BBQ sauce was amazing - very flavorful and a great consistency. I'm very picky with pickles and lucky for me, they have the best pickles here - ice cold and very sour. I really love the atmosphere of this restaurant. I believe it is a family-run business so you can tell they actually appreciate the customers that come in to eat and want us to have a great experience. We left full and highly satisfied today. My husband, brother-in-law, and I were visiting Houston for an overnight stay and none of us had ever been here before so I decided to do a Google search for BBQ restaurants near me and this place popped up. It was rated at 4.2 stars, so we took a chance and I'm so glad we did. If I could rate this restaurant a 10 out of 10, I would. I will recommend this place to anyone at anytime. The food, staff, and atmosphere were excellent. It was the BEST!

Came here for the first time tonight and we're pleasantly shocked by how few people were here. We were leery walking in and we now are a fan for life. Both my husband and daughter got the rodeo special, which is a giant baked potato with cheese, bacon, scallions, butter, and sour cream with a chopped beef sandwich. They devoured their meal, exclaiming how good the food is. I had the sliced brisket plate with baked beans and French fries. It was so good, both my husband and daughter had to try my entire plate. The barbeque sauce has the right tinge of spiciness, the brisket was lean and juicy, the beans were delicious, and the French fries were great. Every one of us devoured our plates and immediately decided that this is our go to barbeque restaurant. My daughter proclaimed that she can't wait to come back and hadn't even finished her plate. High praise from a picky eater.

Super friendly staff. Had the brisket plate with baked beans and coleslaw. All very good! Tried the peach cobbler. I wasn't the biggest fan because it was more of a peach pie in a cup but the flavor was very good.

We had a 4 hours layover in Houston and we decided to have a real Texas barbecue. We saw this place with good reviews so we decided to try. It is amazing!! The brisket and the pork ribs barbecue is very tender and delicious. Servers are friendly. Most of all, the price is affordable.

Man I’m pregnant and enjoyed them melt in your mouth rubs. That tender sausages… and those beans was the bomb. Potatoes salad was nasty . Too hard and full of mayonnaise. The baked potatoe was not so bad. But I’m coming back again

Hands down one of the best meals I’ve ever had. The Brisket was incredible, the sausage links knocked my socks off. Don’t get me started on the sides. Rice will never be the same to me after trying Barney’s dirty rice. I’m drooling all over myself just thinking about the mash potatoes and coleslaw. I’ve never liked beans, that definitely changed today. I owe this life altering experience to Hector and Pacho, the owners who treated us like family from the second we walked in. I’m not even married yet and I know my wedding day will be a distant second for the best day of my life. You truly haven’t lived until you have tried Barney’s Texas BBQ. 1000% MUST TRY!

Great Food, Great flavor! Had the 2 meats combo. Brisket was moist and tender, cooked right. Loved the variety, a little lean & fat/flavor!! Smoked turkey was perfect, tender and smoked well. Fantastic Texas BBQ and helpful service near the airport! Brisket was nicely smoked and seasoned, Pork Ribs were outstanding, and the Jalapeño Sausage was nicely spicy! The sides, especially the Coleslaw and Beans were very good, and the BBQ Sauce has deep complex flavor that ties everything together! Don't skip the sauce!

They are fast, helpful and the food is fresh. I usually get the Brisket sandwich with cut up jalapeno sausage and beans & cold slaw. Pretty good and fast.

I was on a short visit in Houston and stopped by Barney’s for lunch, prior to departure from IAH. The ribs and baked potato are outstanding, and the Pecan pie for dessert is hard to beat. This was my first visit and I’ll definitely return, and can only highly recommend this restaurant. No frills but great foods

We had a great experience here, my husband had never been here before so the cook gave him a sample of the beef to try before we ordered. We each got the beef and turkey with two sides. The meats are really tender and flavorful, great barbecue.

The best Bar-B-Que in Houston. You don't need any sauce! The two gentlemen are so friendly and know how to give you a good portion worth your money. I would give it five stars except, when the ladies are working they tend to not give you the amount of food you have paid for. Then, if you go to the drive thru window you get even less or something is left off. It is maddening because the food is delicious and you have paid a hefty sum for your meal. My suggestion, please train the ladies how to dish out the servings and be friendlier to your customers. Especially, your regulars.

The CAT FISH and Cole slaw are very good, you have to try it! The chopped beef was too greasy for my taste, I was not a fan of that! My husband goes there for lunch because it's near his job, and he loves the 2 meat plate. He usually gets sliced beef brisket and sausage or turkey. He loves it! The staff is all very nice and welcoming and accommodating. I bought the cat fish to take to work for lunch and I was able to eat 2 days from it because they gave me 4 big filled pieces. It was delicious and smelled great! My coworkers wanted some. 😆

A solid 4+. Was on our way to the airport and they provided a good meal. Plus fast and easy as you order at the counter and they cut the meat as you order. I wouldn’t drive out of my way but would stop again if driving past. Friendly staff and good sized portions. For sure a positive experience.

Brisket and ribs with sauce on the side! Brisket has a nice texture, although a bit dry. The ribs were great, with a bit of BBQ sauce brushed on top, not mushy yet fall off the bone - one of the best ribs.

The food was really good. I went about 15 minutes before closing and the staff were very nice and friendly. I ordered ribs, mashed potatoes (was really twice baked potato mashed potatoes), okra, and onion rings. The end cut on the ribs were a little tough but the flavor was good and my husband liked the other ribs. He said the sauce was good. Overall, we will go again!

I had to try this place out today. I have passed it many times. It has been around for a while. The service was great. The owner greeted us and served us, Can't get better service than that. We didn't know what to try since it was our 1st time. They have lots to choose from on the menu but we were in the mood for a good spud. We both ordered the loaded baked potatoe with brisket on top. This spud did not disappoint. I have to say I actually liked the BBQ sauce and I usually don't like it. The brisket was moist and flavorful. I will definitely order that again. It was a good size potatoe(not the biggest I have had but certainly a good size and good). We also tried the homemade peach cobbler, it was tasty too.

The food is good. Staff is friendly. I haven't been in a while so I forgot to check my order before I pulled away. I ordered a turkey sandwich and got a chopped beef. This has happened several times. Just check your order before you leave.

While I understand that everyone is having supply chain issues and pressure on prices, this restaurant served only average tasting food and did not have the value I would expect from a local BBQ joint. My catfish were real fillets in the usual corn meal breading. The coleslaw was good, though you'll want to mix it up first. The fries were average and the bread (Not sure if it was supposed to be Texas Toast or not) was straight off a loaf from the store, grilled and oh so dry. Overall I'd give my meal a C+ or a "Meh" depending on which scale you prefer, for what it cost. Don't get me wrong, the food was okay and if this place is on your way you could do a lot worse, so it might still be worth a stop. But I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

Catching up on my reviews. I have eaten here several times. The chopped sandwiches I have been pleased with in the past. The last time I ordered here, I decided on the sliced sandwich. I was somewhat disappointed, in that the meat was very fatty. I know barbecue has to have some fat on it for cooking and flavor, but to me it seemed a bit excessive. I may purchase chopped sandwiches again, but do not think I will be buying another sliced sandwich. Literally, almost a third to half of each slice was fat.

I had the Brisket and Ribs. The BBQ is mid, nothing to rave about. I got what I paid for I guess. I know BBQ and I can definitely say the ribs were smoked for 2hrs or less (not long enough)... and the brisket was not fall-apart tender.

Traditional bbq joint, in that they seem to be stuck in tradition and not updating with the times. The brisket was alright; not much smoke flavor to it and definitely needed a knife to cut it. Jalapeño sausage was decent, no notes for or against. The green beans again were par for the course, as were the mashed potatoes. Everything was about average. Not blown away by the meal, but will fill you up if you’re in the area. Service was fast and friendly, and the building had a nice historical touch to it.

I order the stuff potato with brisket, large chicken fried steak dinner and the peach cobbler through the Postmates app. The brisket had no smoke flavor to it almost the have been boiled. The peach cobbler was the worse I have ever had. It had a very harsh metallic taste very un-edible. I never received the chicken fried steak dinner.

They are pretty friendly, but food is overpriced...$14.99 for two meat special. The meat portions were small. Watery instant mashed potatoes. Watered down BBQ sauce. If you like your BBQ with flavor do not come here.

I have had it for 5 hours working, etc. I had my heart set on this sandwich. Thinking about it for 5 hours. Get home....Chopped beed SW??? Chopped & Sliced do not sound alike in any way. To say I was disappointed, was an understand. Drive-thru should repeat the order to customer. I would have written them directly about this, but I did not see anywhere that I could. Very let down customer!

Very friendly. Nice restaurant. Clean. I ordered a cheeseburger. Maybe that's a curveball because I didn't order BBQ. Not fresh. Tasted like a frozen patty. I'd rather have Whataburger or even Burger King. The fries were good, hot and salty. Very disappointed over all.

I ordered a chopped beef baked potato what I got was a baked potato with dried chopped beef on top some cheese I guess the butter and whatever was underneath no sour cream, and the closer I'm got to the bottom of the potato the worse it tasted. I have never had a baked potato that bad before in my life Barney's used to be a good place I don't rate it good anymore. And I will never be back

OK we went to Barney’s for the very first time. They was very nice they had a great selection on the board. My mom doesn’t get out too often because of her disability. So this was a treat. She ordered a two meat plate with two sides. She had brisket and sausage With potato salad and pinto beans. She said the pinto beans had jalapeño peppers And wasn’t made aware. They gave her more sausage then they did brisket and it had no taste to it. She Also said that the potato salad was runny. She had got a dessert Of peach cobbler. She said that it wasn’t even sweet and threw it in the trashcan. I got a Fully loaded baked potato. It all Was cold and didn’t have no taste. I think the best thing we had was the sweet tea and the onions and pickles. I think they are concerned with portion sizes to save money!!! Now this order cost $33. Sorry Barney we will not be coming back

My first time having Texas bbq and this is the place I picked. Smh. This is not a good bbq restaurant...at all. The food is sitting in containers (subway style) and you pick what you want through the glass. You would think getting there when they first open the food would be fresh but it was the complete opposite. I ordered the double meat meal which was brisket and sausage with mash potatoes and half a corn on the cob. The brisket was tender but dry and the sausage was grayish. The window seals were extremely dirty and I even watched a man come in from this business named The Big Sticker which was across the parking lot and go directly behind the counter, grab a cup, put ice in it and grab a drink out of the fountain drink machine. He did all of this with out washing his hands. Health Department needs to seriously look into this place.

1/2 lb of Brisket ($11.75) and 1/2 lb of Jalapeno Sausage ($9.99) were simply delicious. Got a yummy lunch and almost got full for $23.53 after tax. If I win the lotto or rich aunt Gretta leaves me the estate after she kicks the bucket I'll be back!

The worst bbq I've ever had!!! I ordered 2 of the rodeo specials and the sandwich was so disgusting I took one bite and couldn't proceed to eat it. It was the worst bbq sandwich I've ever had. The bbq had a crunchy texture with no flavor. The baked potato was a decent size and loaded, however the sour cream was clumpy and at that point I threw the entire meal away. I hate leaving a review like this but this was an absolute waste of 36 dollars!
