I ordered the garlic bread with my family, the chicken piccata. I got the normal house salad with the vinaigrette and I’m waiting on seeing this dessert tray. Upon entering, the host was very pleasant. She had rocking hair, live music provided by the lady in the dress with the supplied acoustics was phenomenal. The garlic bread was immaculate. It looked as if it would be crunchy and almost hurt your teeth, but it was soft and crunchy at the same time beautifully tasting and buttery. The chicken piccata was a delicate and pleasant journey as well. Garlic, cheesy creamy and the mashed potatoes compete with five star steakhouses like for real. I was catered to (Brandon did a Fantastic Job, thank you so much sir!!!), the wine was perfect. Coke zero on top was was great. I’m sure the dessert would be a hit as well. Overall 12 out of 10 thank you so much for an amazing experience! And another shoutout to our wonderful waiter, Brandon!!
12/26/25: We tried pasta and some pizza here and it was so good. We will be coming here again. It was pack that day and service was still great👍. Please Like,Share and Follow for #JaysTrueRating.
I will always love Birraporettis. Drinks, appetizers, eggplant parmesan and chicken piccatta were perfectly delicious. Lovely live music.
My GF made us reservations for 6pm and had a little delay being seated, which was made up for by service and quality of our meal. The staff was super polite and extremely helpful. The atmosphere is cozy and romantic. Very nice for date night. If on a schedule leave yourself a little extra time to enjoy the full experience (app, main, desert). It seems this place is pretty popular, especially around events.
I had been wanting to try this place for years and it did not disappoint. Had wine, calamari, pasta with meatballs, salad, garlic bread, tiramisu, double espresso. Not so full I want to die. Just feel well fed. Room for tequila. Service was good. Not rushing us in and out like some Tex mex places that shall not be named. This place was A+!
We were advised by a friend NOT to go here and that it was awful...let me tell you now that you should always seek to form your own opinions, because if we'd listened, we would've missed out on a phenomenal meal and dinner experience! Our server was excellent! I only wish I could remember her name, but I do remember she had long, dark, curly hair and pretty glasses that I complimented her on. We were downtown to see A Christmas Carol on 12-19, so maybe she'll remember us. But I'd love to give her credit for her good job. We had the spinach dip, pepperoni pizza, almond crusted white fish with picatta sauce, lobster ravioli, Marco Polo, and penne poretti. It was all utterly amazing! Not a single complaint! Thanks for proving my friend wrong and for a lovely dinner!
We enjoyed a quick dinner here, before watching the outsiders at the hobby center. We parked at the hobby center and walked over to Birraporetti's, it was a ten minute walk. My daughter and I shared an appetizer and an entree so that we wouldn't have any leftovers since we were going straight to the musical. The atmosphere was beautiful, of course, it's all dressed up for christmas, we did not have a reservation and sat in the bar area on the shared seating area, it was really nice a little snug, but we made it work. We met a couple that had just come from the outsiders, and we met another couple that was going to the symphony. All of the patrons around us were very nice and it didn't feel uncomfortable at all sitting next to strangers we just made new friends.
We had a fabulous time at our first visit to Birraporetti’s. What a fine restaurant. Lovely Christmas decorations and great first impression with hostess and our waiter Jonny. He was very kind. He explained the menu to us and was very helpful in explaining to us the difference between a bar mitzvah and a bat mitzvah. We had no idea what a bat mitzvah was. He recommended some dishes for us. When I told him I could not eat very much but really wanted to try the brick oven pizza he was most kind in letting me know it comes in a smaller portion. I will include pictures of both of our dishes. My husband had the veal piccata, and I had the special. For dessert we had chocolate chip cheesecake, and I had the key lime pie it did not disappoint. The key lime pie had a very strong taste of lime which is just the way I like it. It was also very smooth. We will definitely visit again when in the area, The restaurant was very clean as well as the restrooms which is always a plus. I highly recommend this restaurant, great ambiance, great service, great menu.
The appetizer was the greatest thing ever, until I tasted a salad that made me think I didn't know what salad should taste like. Then we had dinner, and I learned what lasagna should taste like. Dessert was even better. Fabulous meal! The waitress was super helpful, but not obtrusive. The staff was fabulous. The atmosphere was grande, but comfortable. It was the perfect meal.
The food was amazing. This restaurant really recommends. I and my fiance had our engagement dinner here. The restaurant was nice enough to decorate the table. Also, on Valentine's Day, they had live singer's which was awesome. They singers also give us a surprise shout-out on our engagement, which was cool. We will definitely be back.

Close to event venue. We met our party there before our show at Jones Hall. Parking was a nightmare as their garage said come in. We drove up to find it was closed. Backing out was beyond nerve-wracking. They should have had a closed garage sign up to prevent this. Someone could have pulled in making my same mistake while I was backing down out of necessity. There were no parking attendants to help. Once inside food & service were great. Everyone enjoyed their meal. My only complaint is that when you order the grilled chicken Cesar salad as the main course, I expected at least a full chicken breast cut up on the salad. Even if it were a small breast. This was served as if the chicken were a garnish. 4 very small thin slices that maybe equalled 1/2 a small breast. The salad was very large, so it seemed disproportionate. It tasted good. Service was excellent. We made our show & enjoyed our evening.
If you ever catch a show at the Alley of a ballet at Wortham Theatre, Birraporetti’s is a must after! Definitely recommend having a reservation because this place fills up! Would love to give it 5 stars but for me the gluten free accommodation is hit or miss. On my first time, the waiter was amazing and very accommodating, even making sure my salad had no croutons and the pasta was perfect! On my second time the pasta was wayyyy under done, making the sauce not stick as well and not be quite as good. Hopefully that was a one off, and I’m sure I’ll be going back
Went to Birraporetti's before our show at the Hobby Center, an easy walk. I got the Curtain Call dinner special. Salad, steak & shrimp (comes with a side of Alfredo), and dessert (I picked the chocolate mousse). The whole meal was yummy. They DO NOT split checks, but since I had gotten the dinner special, it was easy for the waiter to charge me just for that.

We were new to Houston and were pleased with our visit. Great pizza and pasta - and a live band! Beer choices are limited but we found a local beer to enjoy. A really great option!

Overall ok food but service was very subpar. The spinach artichoke came out hot and was really good. The pizza was really good and much larger than I had anticipated so enough for 3 people. The cheese ravioli was good but would skip the sausage next time as it was cold and lacked flavor. They had a good live guitarist/singer so provided nice background music. The servixe needs improved as server seemed to disappear for a long time so refills, getting bill etc wasn't easy.
This is Olive Garden level food at upscale prices solely based on location. Super convenient for Italian before a theatre/symphony performance but you're paying for a lot more than what you're getting. They probably stay afloat from their cocktail room with low light and teeny tiny live music spot. I'd come here again if I wanted a crowded upscale bar setting, not for the food/restaurant. Basically no one eating on a Friday night.
We went there before our show. It was very crowded, and I politely asked our server, to rush if possible (it was not a demand but a request) and bring our appetizer with our main course together, since we were in a time crunch. His response was that everyone is going for a show. Fair enough, he wanted to share that thought. Then he said that he cannot promise how it will come out (I don't exactly know what he meant by that -- did he mean that the food will not be satisfactory). Then while deciding on the appetizer, we were looking at the asparagus with crab or escargot. I clearly told him that we wanted the escargot ....when our food came, it was the asparagus. I pointed that out to the person who had served the food. The manager was there, he was very gracious and he took the plate away to replace it with escargot. My daughter wanted them to leave the asparagus behind, but we are paying enough money and it is reasonable to expect the food we ordered. If it was a mom and pop place, then I would have let it go. The server later came by to tell me that I had ordered the asparagus. I know I was very clear about escargot and my daughter had heard me too. Mistakes can happen, it is restaurant everyone was rushed. The fact that the server thought it was okay for him to argue, was not right. An establishment like this, should do better. The food is alright. I liked the creme brulee....
Overall good experience, live singer was there! Make a reservation for night time as it gets crowded and we had to sit at the bar. Waiters are very nice with good suggestions and hype up the food h…
We came here for my birthday after the Symphony hungry and ready to enjoy a meal together. Wouldn't accommodate vegetarian and lactose intolerant dietary restrictions. Wouldn't even entertain the offer of a salad or any other options that my partner could eat. Told us we'd probably just need to leave because they don't make accommodations. Absolutely disappointed. I assumed food would be cooked fresh at a restaurant like this and we could opt out of butter, but they wouldn't even try.
We have wanted to dine here for a while and finally made a reservation. The Christmas decor was very warm and live music was great. The food and drinks were good quality. The unfortunate and disappointing thing was extremely slow and inconsistent service: we had dirty dishes and empty glasses and water bottles sitting on our table for 40 minutes, and I had to go to the hostess stand anytime we needed service. We don’t plan to return as the reviews seem to also indicate this is a systemic issue. We still tried hoping to have a different experience.
Service was terrible. Once we got our salad 45 minutes later . They remembered us don't sit on the lower level.. The black waitress and the Hispanic bartender no good
