Opinions de Dave's Hot Chicken Houston
Authentic local spot for great Mediterranean food at a good value. Food and vibe feels pretty local and homey! I ordered a lamb shawarma wrap and a Turkish latte. Portions are huge! I liked the seasoning on the lamb and the sauces in the pita. Would've preferred if the lamb and pita were hotter, but the flavor was still great. Turkish latte was great and well balanced - just watch out for the coffee grounds at the end.
Food that hits so close to home it brings tears of joy!!!🥹🔥 The best shawarma I’ve ever had in the US… Pickles and garlic sauce need to be added to thr chicken shawarma to get the full flavor and authenticity. الذ شورما دجاج ولحم
Probabaly one of the best shwarama in houston, definitely in the top 5. I got the beef shawarma I think it was 9$ after all was said and done. The only thing I can warn you about is they go heavy on the onion, so if you don't like as much onion let them know.
It’s our favorite place here on Houston! Coffee is delicious, the food is very healthy food and delicious, very very recommended 5/5✨😋
A great place for affordable, but delicious middle eastern food. There is a large variety of dishes served at the counter, and the atmosphere is casual. I really liked the chicken shawarma meat with fried cauliflower and zucchini.
I had heard a lot of great things about Arpi's, so I made the hour long trek down. Glad I did. I got the lamb shawarma wrap, cucumber salad and cauliflower. All were very fresh and well seasoned. The house made pita for the wrap was perfect, it held together well but was still thin and tender to the bite. Will definitely be making the trip again to try their other dishes.
Cafe opens at 8am, Restaurant opens at 9:30am on weekdays. On the corner end of the same shopping center Phoenicia is in. Some of the best Shawarma in Houston. The meat is tender and juicy. The ingredients are fresh and tasty. The service is friendly and precise. Highly recommend.
Always great! Great food and value. I have been eating here since it was just a little shop down the road. The chicken is moist and the beef is tender. I have never had a bad meal here. The only issue is when you eat it all you want more. Everyone is always friendly, service is quick and it’s great for dine in and take out. I was too excited to dig in that I forgot to take a picture!
Great gyro wrap, improved hummus, FANTASTIC dessert options, patio seating, convenient location... I'll be a new regular customer.
This establishment is operated very well by the individuals who work there! Osawdo and the kitchen staff made great food! Shauntae and Kourtney were amazing host! They took the time to explain Dave's to us on the food! Simply the best service we have had in awhile! Thank you to the staff! We will be returning!
Dray is working, just know you’re about to have the best experience of your life. My guy deserves a Michelin star for customer service alone. He didn’t just hand me chicken he handed me pure happiness wrapped in a box. Dray makes you feel like you’re not just ordering food, you’re signing up for a life upgrade. The chicken was bussin’, but Dray’s vibe? EVEN HOTTER. Give this man a raise, a crown, and maybe his own flavor on the menu. “Dray’s Hot” has a nice ring to it.
The customer service was amazing! Shout out to Dr. Dray for being so helpful, kind, and fun to talk to. He brings really good energy to this location and he’s a super awesome dude. Te’Ja was helpful, kind, and great as well. The sliders were flavorful and the chicken was cooked perfectly. I highly recommend anyone to check this place out if you haven’t already. I’ll definitely be back if I’m ever in the area. Keep being you Dr. Dray!
I absolutely love Dave’s Hot Chicken! The chicken is always crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor. The spice levels give you options whether you want something mild or if you’re brave enough to go extra hot. The sliders are my go-to—they’re big, loaded with sauce, and so satisfying. The fries are seasoned perfectly, and the mac & cheese is the perfect sidekick. The staff is always friendly and quick, and the food comes out fresh every time. If you’re craving comfort food with a kick, Dave’s Hot Chicken is the place to go. Highly recommend!
Dave’s Hot Chicken 10/10 would recommend! We liked it so much we went 2 weeks in a row. It’s definitely a place we’ll add to the regular rotation when we’re in Houston. The chicken is soooo good, the spices & the crisp is chefs kiss. I’m a sauce girl, the sauce is good but by itself could be better. But the chickens so good it makes up for the lack of flavor in the sauce. VERY friendly staff, you’re greeted as soon as you walk in. Clean facility, including the bathroom. Baby friendly with high chairs & changing tables. Free parking, the lots are small so you may have to do street parking.
First time trying Dave’s hot chicken. To be honest, it was really good. I wanted to try the spice so I ended up getting hot and it was really good. Gave me a little sweats lol. I got the one chicken tender and one slider combo and it seemed like they put two tenders in there so much food I couldn’t even eat it. Highly recommend this place service was awesome.
I've visited Dave's Hot Chicken a couple of times, and I must say, it's an amazing fast food joint for anyone who loves chicken. The chicken tenders are incredibly tender, with a perfectly crispy outside and just the right amount of spiciness. However, the medium spice level is milder than expected, so next time, I'll go for the extra hot. The sauce at Dave's Hot Chicken is super creamy, making the sandwiches even better when dipped in it. The hot chicken sliders are pretty big, making them a great combo for two people to share. Even the buns are soft and sweet, adding to the overall delicious experience. The most amazing part, though, is the french fries. They are absolutely flavorful, with a crispy exterior and just the right amount of tenderness inside. Even my dogs love them! Overall, the service at Dave's Hot Chicken is great. The joint has a good ambiance, and the drive-through lane is pretty fast. Highly recommended for hot chicken lovers, and the service is impressively quick too.
First time at this chicken shop. The food was fresh and tasty. I would recommend the chicken slider with cheese. The atmosphere was good. I didn’t care for the graffiti on the walls. It my opinion it cheapened the overall feel of the store. I definitely like this place better than Chik fil A. Please note that parking is difficult during lunch hours.
First time trying Dave's Hot Chicken. Was very impressed by the quality of food and taste. The staff (Taii & Bacon) were amazing, they knew it was my first time and explained the menu and how the spice levels worked. Got my food within a few minutes and received great service from the team.
One of my colleagues recommended this place so I decided to try it today for lunch. Let me start out by saying 10/10, I would definitely recommend checking this place out. The staff was able to make good recommendations on what I should order since it was my first time. The service was really fast and I was satisfied with the overall quality of the food. The sauce is tasty and the chicken has a subtle sweetness to it that compliments the heat perfectly. My mom got a hot tender and I got a mild slider. I will say if you’re not too fond of extremely spicy food, I would recommend getting the mild. It was not as hot as I would have liked but the hot probably would have been too hot for me. I really liked the art on the walls and the atmosphere of the place. Overall this was a great experience and I will definitely be back.
Flavorful chicken with a perfect crispy texture and good spice levels to choose from. Fast service and a lively atmosphere make it a great quick bite

Not bad. Got the hot and it had a good amount of kick. fries were good too. Lots of drink options but only a few food ones. Guess that's what you get at a place with its only menu item in the name.
Very delicious food. However, the servers could be more patient and passionate on the customers.
This was my first time visiting Arpis, even though I learned it’s been there for over 40 years. It is a nice traditional looking deli. The taste of the food was okay and quite a few options. I ordered a shawarma and it was just okay. The humus and Lebanese salad were a little bland. I am more used to going to Fadis. I was able to see Mrs. Arpi while I was there and she’s the cutest lady. I would come back mainly to support her. However, the food needed a little more taste in my opinion and the pitas could have been thicker and warm
The service was fast. The chicken is juicy. It's a self serve kind of place and the place is not necessarily spotless, but there's no odor
its good but its damn expensive. the chicken is moist and seasoned and the sauce is good as well. hard to swallow the cost though. 2 big chicken tenders at like $14 is crazy

Great food. The service was okay. And also a clean environment. I would come again for the food.
Really good chicken. Service was quick. Love the crinkle fries and the dipping sauce was nice. The shakes can be hit and miss. First one was really good. Second one was terrible. Tried to get a fre…
Arpi’s Phoenicia Deli – A Decent Stop, But Not For Me I recently visited Arpi’s Phoenicia Deli after hearing some buzz about it, and while I can see why others might enjoy it, it just wasn’t the spot for me. The food was good—not bad by any means—but it didn’t blow me away either. I sampled a few different dishes, hoping something would really stand out, but unfortunately, most of them just didn’t hit the mark for my personal taste. And that’s coming from someone who loves Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine. I’ve had similar dishes at other restaurants that were more flavorful, better presented, and even more affordable. One thing I will say I was pleasantly surprised by: they had sugar-free baklava, which made me so happy! That was probably the highlight of my visit. It’s not often you find sugar-free options for desserts like that, and it was a nice touch for someone like me who tries to be mindful of sugar intake. So, kudos to them for that! The atmosphere of the restaurant, though, left a little to be desired. It wasn’t as clean as I would have liked—tables had leftover trays and trash on them, and it seemed like things weren’t being cleared promptly. That really impacted the overall experience for me. The customer service was okay—not bad, not great. The staff were polite enough, but nothing really stood out in terms of hospitality or attentiveness. All in all, I think Arpi’s has its place and could be worth checking out if you’re curious or if this kind of food is new to you. But for someone who’s had a lot of experience with Mediterranean food, and who knows what they love, it just didn’t leave a lasting impression. I’m glad I gave it a try, but I wouldn’t personally go back.
I heard good things and wanted to try. It was definitely better than some of these restaurants that over charge you for chicken and waffles. But it was just ok to me. The chicken was medium hot but that wasn't spicy. The actual chicken was bland. The waffle was good. It was fresh and had flavor. Not too sweet and didn't taste like fried doug.dough. for $10 it was great.
Great eco friendly place. The kids and I enjoyed our juicy chicken sandwiches. I'll definitely return when I'm in the area. The weather was perfect and we sat outside to enjoy the ambiance.
Good food.....don't care for the location.....parking ......need to work on keeping the tables clean
I ordered 2 chicken shawarma wraps and one chicken shawarma plate. It was the driest chicken I had in a long time. Also I specifically asked no garlic sauce in the wraps. I wanted the yogurt sauce instead. They put about one teaspoonful in each wrap. Seriously? I had to add ranch dressing at home to make it edible at the very least. Very disappointed. A waste of my hard-earned $30.00.
I’m not sure what happened today. I’ve been to this place many times, and my experience has always been great... the food and the service have consistently been excellent. But today was different. I ordered two of the same wrap with two different sides to go. For some reason, the wraps came out completely different: one had hot sauce and tahini, and the other had neither. We didn’t specify anything because we assumed the sauces would be on the side for a to-go order, but that wasn’t the case. There were no sauces on the side, and it felt like we just got whatever they decided to serve. I really hope this was a one-off. I’d hate to see a place with so much tradition start to slip.
I've been coming here for 20+ years and for the first time I was DISAPPOINTED with the rude service. The lady taking our order in the line, didn't care to ask us what else we wanted and walked away, so asked the cashier lady. The cashier had a bad attitude, threw our grilled veggies in a bowl. Then told her twice we wanted cups for water but she still didn't care to hand us any. Not sure what's going on. I hope it was just a one off. Still my fav shawarmas in Houston but they need to do better.
Dear Dave's chicken, I am not impressed by your flavorless chicken. The fries crispiness was the best part of my meal. I had an unsweet tea with no sugar substitute because YOU DO NOT PROVIDE IT !!…
The food is good, but it’s always left uncovered. The employees constantly talk with customers right over the food without wearing masks, which is very unhygienic. They really need to pay more attention to food safety.
Absolutely one of the worst in town! Food is not fresh and the baby fish (small sardines) was terrible! It was pre cooked and reheated when ordered! Terrible will not go back there!!
Stay away from this place! My friend and I decided to grab a bite here, hoping for a delicious meal. We ordered chicken curry and a shawarma plate. Let me tell you, that chicken curry tasted like anything but chicken! And to top it off, the shawarma plate came without any salad or tomato. Can you believe it? As if that wasn't enough, they even tried to overcharge us for the shawarma plate. Thankfully, we caught their mistake and they corrected it, but if we hadn't been paying attention, they would've taken our money without a second thought. The lady working there was incredibly slow and had trouble understanding us. Needless to say, we will never set foot in this place again!
Came this morning around 10:05am and ordered a wrap. I asked if I could add chicken to the beef and told them I would pay extra since I am adding extra meat. The guy told me no, and insisted that they cannot mix it. I just wanted extra meat..then when I received the order the salad was old. The cauliflower was old and cold..and my sandwich was cold that I couldn’t even eat it. This would be my first and last time coming here. Terrible service and terrible food.
They have gotten cheap! I have been going to Arpis for the last 15 years. They used to put all the sauces and pita out for everyone to enjoy unlimited! Now they charge if you want one extra??? Not the mention the shawarma wraps are smaller. Service has always had an attitude but we let it slide since the food was good. Now we are fed up with they’re cheapness
I’ve been a regular at this location for quite a while. I used to order at least once a week and was always impressed with the consistency and flavor. I hadn’t ordered in about a month, but decided to give it another try today because I was craving it. Unfortunately, this experience was really disappointing. I placed a pickup order through the app (I live nearby), and while I understand pickup food can sometimes lose a bit of freshness, this order was noticeably off. Everything was cold, soggy, and tasted old, as if it had been sitting for a while before being packed. The biggest issue was the lack of spice and flavor. I ordered my cauliflower sandwiches in medium and hot, but both were completely bland. The stickers on the containers said “no spice” and “medium,” which might’ve been a labeling mix-up — but neither sandwich had any heat or seasoning at all. The breading was undercooked, soggy, and falling apart, making it hard to even eat. As a vegan, I don’t have many options around here, and this used to be one of my reliable go-tos. I really hope this was just an off day, because I’ve had great food from this location before. It’d be great to see a bit more quality control and attention to freshness for pickup orders.
