Opinions de 13 Celsius Houston
I love this place. Totally relaxed atmosphere & since I know so little about wines, I find I rely on their staff for suggestions. I've never been disappointed with the wines they've brought me. They also have nice cheese plates to go with the wines. This is a favorite of mine. A great place to hangout with girlfriends on a Friday night!
Love this wine bar. I love the building and decor. It feels like I'm not in Houston. They have a great selections of wines. Their charcuterie boards and paninis are great. The service here is the best!
My favorite wine bar in Houston. Staff is friendly and always make fun recommendations. Food is yummy. Thomas does a great job and has taken care of my friends and I for years now. Always friendly and makes our day.
This spot is adorable and a perfect place to relax with a glass of wine. We got a few apps (fried favas and a warm fig and goat cheese plate) and they were delightful. We sat back on the little patio and it was peaceful and beautiful. I can't wait to go back now that the weather is a little cooler at night.
Fantastic place. A classic. Great list, wonderful cheese, good service. Don’t hesitate to go here.
Cool destination. So many wine choices and cool beer choices.
I visited 13 Celsius last night with my son and my daughter-in-law. I know a thing or two about wine, and I'm here to say that I'm in love with the extensive and meticulously curated wine list. It is absolutely amazing. Jacob, who took great care of us. He is extremely knowledgeable, and his upbeat personality made us have simply a wonderful experience. The place is very cool and a refined ambiance. I have no choice but to keep coming back to continue this exploring adventure to try more of their wines. If you like to explore different wines, do not hesitate to stop here Thank you, Jacob, and thank you 13 Celsius team
This place is 10/10. It is such an intimate space with great small bites for a wine night. I did a solo visit and I felt very comfortable. The bar staff were very kind and knowledgeable on the food/wine pairing, the ambiance was amazing, and my charcuterie board was perfect. For one, the 2 meats 2 cheese selection will definitely fill you up.
Amazing wine bar with great vibes, perfect for a date night! The wine list is incredible and the food is of great quality at an affordable price. The service is always excellent and they can answer any questions you have about wine and make recommendations based on your feedback. The best wine bar in Houston in my opinion.
I absolutely love this place! The staff is beyond superb. This place is an absolute experience. ALL the staff is super knowledgeable on wine and can make great recommendations, even if you are not that knowledgeable in regards to wine. Harold is absolutely my favorite. He treats me and my family/friends like family. His recommendations are always spot on and for that reason alone, I am loyal customer. 10 out of 10 would absolutely recommend.
This place is five stars all the way around. We loved the service. Our server a d those who helped him were all great. The board was really good. Great selections of wine. The atmosphere is cozy. Definitely you can enjoy this after work, on a date, or hanging out with friends.
I'm not much of a wine girl, but enjoyed coming here and trying new wines. I liked it so much that I came back again the next day. The waiters really do a good job at recommending wines according to each individual's taste. They're also very knowledgeable when it comes to the menu. I love the low lighting it gives off a calming atmosphere and when I went to the bathroom it was very clean. I would definitely recommend this place if you're solo, going on a intimate date, or with friends.
Awesome wine. Ordered the large charcuterie with 4 cheeses and 4 salamis. Our waitress had great suggestions. We went with the white she suggested from Piedmont area that went perfectly with our charcuterie selections. Didn't over power the food but a perfect compliment. Great place to get a light bite of food with great wine. Perfect for meeting friends and hanging out.
Attentive and friendly wait staff. Water glasses were always refilled, but even after being there for 2+ hours, never felt like they were hovering. Food was delicious and there was an extensive wine list full of both affordable and higher dollar drinks. There were five of us who ordered different drinks, and everyone loved theirs. Looking forward to going back!
We just had our engagement party there. We are truly lost for words on how EXCEPTIONAL service was, how accommodating and helpful Harold, Thomas, and Tea were. Delicious hors d'oeuvres and of course great wine selection. Thank you so much 13 Celsius for an extraordinary experience. It could not have been any more perfect!!
My favorite wine bar! I love the atmosphere, waiters give great wine suggestions based on what you like, charcuterie is excellent, and you can even order smores!! They trusted two wine drunk girls with an open flame and we didn't set anything on fire, amazing
Wonderful quaint hip place to relax with some great wine, food, and fantastic service. Zack C. is THE BEST!!! He is super knowledgeable about the wines and has a great personality. Love this place!!!!
Awesome place to go with friends! I went for my birthday and we got the large charcuterie board and did a mini wine tasting. The staff knows a ton about the wine and asked all the right questions to get us the wines that matched our tastes perfectly! The mural in some of the pictures is gone, but it was still a very cute place 🥰
What a great place this was! I am so happy its in Houston. Such a great vibe and a wonderful wine selection. Everything was great! A must if you are in Houston!
I have been searching for a typical wine bar in Houston for so long, this place is amazing. Wine list, service, food and atmosphere all 5 stars, can't wait too come back. I would definitely say this is the best wine bar in Houston.
Incredible wine list and the charcuterie options are surprisingly affordable. Don't get me wrong, wine by the bottle adds up cost-wise but you can get 3 nice bottles and enough food for 4 and get out for about $200. Great staff too, very nice and informative. Jacob was great and very knowledgeable. 10/10 would suggest
13 Celsius has long been a favorite to enjoy low key casual drinks with friends. I enjoy the variety of wines offered here, the service, the people and the dimly lit atmosphere. I attended a Wine and Cheese Tasting class by Houston Dairymaids and 13 Celsius a few weeks ago. The ticket's seemed expensive at first ($113 per person). Though after attending I can say it was well worth the value for money. The event was extremely well organized. On arriving, the tented area was ready for guests with the tables set for this sold out event. 7 glasses of wine and cheeses were carefully selected for this class. I attended alone and never felt awkward or uncomfortable at my table. This event attracted a great variation of quality people. The hosts and speakers presented a very interesting and well prepared presentation to accompany the wines and cheeses. The event went smoothly and on time. I was well impressed and definitely look forward to attending future events at this venue.
Ask for Jacob…you won’t regret it Me and my girlfriend have been here at least 6-7 times and have never been disappointed. The service is always on point and the selection of Italian wines are phenomenal. They have great wines no matter your budget. If you’re into those deep full bodied reds, try the cab franc. It was my first time trying it and it was fantastic. Oh…the baked Brie is too good
Incredible value for such an adorable place with amazing service. The reccomendations for wine and cheese were top notch, the presentation of everything is great, and an amazing price for such a chic spot. 3 cheese plate+ panino + 2 glasses of wine + cannoli + a slice of cake so massive we had to get a box for under 50 (too not included)
This is a perfect neighborhood wine bar, relaxed and casual with great selection of wines. I also really appreciated the quality of cheeses and meats offered. If I lived close, I'd be here all the time 😂😂😂
The selection, atmosphere and service is amazing. This will be my new wine bar in houston. Visited twice in the same week! Great job
My cousins and I love coming to 13 Celsius. The quaint atmosphere is perfect for a more intimate setting and the drinks and food have never disappointed. We had a great time Saturday evening celebrating my cousin’s birthday, they were so accommodating even with us needing a larger table. Make sure to try the s’mores, we absolutely love them. Highly recommend if you’re in the area!
This is one of the most comfortable spots in Houston to just hang out and enjoy life. A great place to drink wine and chat with friends. They have a huge wine selection that you can buy by the bottle or the glass. You can get small bits like meat and cheese plates, or a panini. The staff are friendly and helpful with selecting the perfect wine for the mood.
Thomas & Zach were knowledgeable, conversational and friendly! They helped me navigate the extensive menu with ease. The food is fresh and the menu is exciting. Great place to relax and have conversations with friends or a date! The s’mores board is a fun icebreaker for dates and fun desert for friends!
I've visited off and on since 2017 and I'm always impressed by their wine selection and everyone's knowledge and enthusiasm for it. The foods are what you expect and fairly priced, but I mostly go for atmosphere and to explore new wines. It's a very cozy and intimate atmosphere to lounge and chill. Even when it's packed, it's not too loud (which plays a factor in where I take people to conversate). 13 Celsius is a place I recommend first before recommending other places!
I recently visited with some friends for ladies night. We sat at the bar but there are a couple really comfy looking couch sections we were hoping to snag. EDIT: They also have gluten free crackers and bread for the board which totally make my night. We had a few glasses and split a large charcuterie board. The bartender waited on us and she had great recommendations for wine and pairings. Great service. The place is small and it did get crowded but it was really good! I’d suggest arriving early for the best seating.
I’ve been here a few times, and while I’m not a wine expert, the staff always provides great recommendations. They take the time to understand what you like and offer choices that match your taste. Everyone here is incredibly knowledgeable about wine, making the experience both enjoyable and educational. Highly recommend!!!
I had such a great time for a special occasion here for a friend. The food was amazing, but the star of the night was the service; Grayson and Thomas made sure we were taken care of. We will definitely be back, and I will be recommending 13 celcius to my friends. Thank you all so much!
Nice wine bar in midtown. Indoor and outdoor seating available. We sat outdoors. Friendly staff. We had the caprese sandwich and the cheese board. The hard cheeses in particular were excellent! The board also came with apple slices, jam, marcona almonds and bread. Would definitely check this place out again
love the cheese boards here! this is my go to wine bar..excellent service and quality meat, cheese, and wine.
I love this place! Great spot to enjoy a glass of wine. Fine selections and friendly service. Here you can get help finding the perfect wine for a charcuterie board. The atmosphere is nice and the parking is easy in the area. Definitely try their smores!
Really enjoyed my time here! The wine is fantastic and the service is great. It can be a bit loud and hard to hear at times, but other than that it was great
We love this neighborhood wine bar. Everyone is so friendly and knowledgeable and we love the atmosphere. We always bring our out of town guests here.
Incredible experience. I come from the industry and I was very impressed. Was visiting from out of town and came here because of their “old world” wine list. I was met with a warm greeting and instantly spoken to about the wine list, which is lovely by the way (and I’m picky). The food is light bites but it’s honestly the perfect amount. If I could give the service 10 stars, I would. Will definitely return and recommend.
If you’re looking for a solid date night spot, and you’re a fan of wine you should definitely consider swinging by 13 Celsius. Tucked away just outside of the heart of Midtown, in what feels more like a townhouse residential area, sits one of the best wine bars you’ll find in Houston From the outside the bar looks relatively small, but as you walk in the bar is deceptively spacious. There is one of the smallest parking lots in the back, but I wouldn’t hold your breath on snagging a spot there. As mentioned, this is more or less a residential area, and you will mostly likely have to find trees parking. Make sure you double check for “no parking” signs. Midtown is notorious for towing cars The interior is nicely decorated and intimately lit. You can find seating both inside and out, and there is a long bar you can sit at The menu offers wines from all over the world, and you can order by the bottle, glass, half glass, and you can also taste. There are a variety of delicious small plates and other snacks to order The staff was exceptional. A couple individuals took our typical wine preferences and was able to find similar wines that we would enjoy. They could explain why we would enjoy, and they allowed us to taste prior to ordering a full glass. Another served us our small plates and explained the dish and even the history of sourcing some of the dish components and why It is incredibly easy to get lost in conversation and unwind at this bar. For what it is, I also found the bar relatively affordable. And for anyone wondering about the name, 13 Celsius refers to the optimal temperature for storing and maturing wines Some tips: Again, ask the staff what they would recommend and let them take you on a journey of exploration. And please, check the “parking signs” Cheers!
What a cute wine bar! Service was great and the wine selection here is excellent. I love that they offer 3 oz pours so you can try more options off their extensive wine list. We also ordered a charcuterie board and it was delicious! The cheese and meats paired very well with the wine. Parking is a bit limited in their small parking lot but there is also nearby street parking.
My friends and I went this past Saturday. The service is incredible. We sat at the bar and our server (didn’t get his name!) kept the wine and water refilled. He was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and answered all of our questions. I was just so impressed by the service and attention to detail! I had the baked brie and my friends had the pretzel and the mortadella. Everyone was so happy and the prices were incredible! 10/10 will be back as soon and as often as possible!
From the moment we walked in, the team at Celsius Wine Bar made us feel like VIPs. The service was simply outstanding, attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm without ever being intrusive. Every recommendation, from wine pairings to small plates, was spot on. It’s rare to find a place where hospitality feels this effortless and authentic. Celsius isn’t just a wine bar, it’s an experience. Highly recommend for anyone who values top-tier service and a memorable evening out.
I adore this place. The atmosphere is chill, the food is great and they carry an impressive selection of wine. Best in Houston. I wanted to add an edit to my review to shout out Harold. No matter how many times I visit, it feels special and memorable. He has extensive knowledge of wine and of 13 Celsius’ history. I highly recommend this place.
My boyfriend and I love this place. We try and drop in at least once a week. The staff here are fantastic. Especially Harold and Elsie. They always take the time to answer any questions we have and go out of their way to suggest wine they think we may enjoy. The wine tastings they have throughout the year are such a cool experience. You learn, you drink and you learn some more. They also have some great lite bite options that are diverse enough to please a lot of different palettes.
I really like this place. Great location, very relaxed vibe. Has different seating options which makes it unique. Outdoor seating, then there’s lounge-like seating indoors as well bar and table seats. Then there’s an enclosed outdoor seating area which is really cool. Service was great for us, the waiter really knew about the menu and had good recommendations.
An eclectic combination of new and rustic old becomes the basic canvas for a great time with friends, while friendly service take their time to guide you through their menu of vine juice, cheeses, hams, and other well thought savory combinations freshly made by the chef onsite. As the night progresses we experience the influx of a more eclectic casual elegant crowd that seemed in different stages of life. Music level slowed the tone allowing us to have conversation and to admire the laughs of others as well. We had a great time tasting Jorge’s absolute on spot suggestions for wines and food dishes that only made us crave for another visits. Hope you guys have the same, or better experience than we had.
Just happened across this place walking my dog.. What an amazing gem of Midtown! The waiter helped center in on a French wine that matched our pallet and starter (pretzel with spicy mustard). One of the best I have had in Houston!! We choose the simple luxury of a salad with cheeseboard. As we were into our second glass the waiter guided us into another Red that was ideal for the choice of cheese. What an experience! Going to be coming back with friends..
Service here was absolutely remarkable. Our server patiently went back and forth for wine samples until we eventually made a choice. I would describe the ambiance as attractively unusual and sweet; perfect for a night out with that special someone. It will work for groups as well if you're looking for a chill location to hang out and have conversations.
Was only there for a quick minute, but enjoyed a lovely red & cheese board. We were rushing, but really wanted a good glass of wine before we ended up where the wine selection would be very poor. We will be back - next time for the bottle. I really like the building. It's small, but it doesn't feel small if that makes sense. The guys behind the bar were great. They have a small parking lot, so be prepared to parallel park on the street in front/on side of bar.
The back patio area would be more user friendly if a fan or something was out there creating air flow.
This place is very "RUSTic," not sure if it's the nicest place to bring a date as the ceilings are stylized to look dilapidated like the rust is causing the paint to peel. The outdoor back patio was much nicer than the inside. Good wine and charcuterie selection. Smores is a must, but I wish they had milk chocolate bars instead of dark.
I love this is low key wine spot. It's not at all pretentious, but it easily could be with the knowledgeable staff and selection of wines and snacks. I feel just as comfortable stopping in while I'm dressed down as I do when I'm dressed up. Great for a casual glass of wine, date night, or a girls night out.
I was very impressed with the wine selection this bar has. It’s known as the hidden gem for wine and cheese boards. The waitress surprised us with the restaurants top choices for the boards since I was too overwhelmed with the options. The staff is professional, attentive and knowledgeable on the items they serve. Only reason it got a 4 star is because it’s so loud. I couldn’t hear the conversation I was trying to have. Maybe I’d do the outdoor seating Next time. Limited parking so be aware you may have to park on the street. Or definitely come back!
Great selection / cellar. The atmosphere suits a wide range of occasions from chill night to fancy date — the only thing that could be improved (though not bad) is the service. Helpful / friendly when you can catch them, but always seem to be a bit rushed. That being said, I consistently choose this place over others. Great for starting off the night or dessert and a nightcap too.
You will definitely love this place if you are wine lover. We love this place so much so that we came here twice (take note on the different meat board as pictured). When I get bored with wine, I go for vermouth instead. It's equally amazing. For dessert, they served the famous carrot cake from Weights and Measures. So yum!!
Loved the industrial yet cozy vibe of this place. The hidden courtyard is also a great isolated place to chat. Bartenders were very nice and knowledgeable however my drink was changed to port because the bartender didn't think I would like the sherry I ordered. I appreciated the initiative and the port was good, but I didn't order a dessert wine for a reason. Cheese plate was delicious. Would definitely come back
They have a big collection of different wines and their service is very good. The servers provide a lot of information. Prices are reasonable for the quality. You have a variety of options for snacks. I got their s’mores and it was ok. Expected a better quality though. They have indoor and outdoor seating but the outdoor space is not that big. I do recommend this place.
Went here for there annual wine sale market. Was fantastic fun. Had over 30 wines to sample as well as cheese, honey, chocolate etc. Haven’t been here for normal drinks and food before but would be interested in giving it a go in the future. Doesn’t look that flash but hey if the food wine and service is good I’m willing to give it a go in the future.
Went to only try the wine a little pricey but the wine was so good in my opinion I wish they had an umbrella for the outside setting because it gets hot in houston and to have some shade it was packed inside so they offered outside seats.
Wasn't super impressed with this wine bar. The menu was eclectic and the venue was neat place. Staff was helpful, but something was lacking that I can't quite put my finger on. It's a quiet and kinda private place, good option for a date or meet up w/ a couple friends. I went with someone who'd been before, but as a 1st timer, I just wasn't impressed. I'm interested to try them another time though, we were pressed for time, and perhaps that made a difference. 🤷🏾♀️🍷 Update: returned w/ a small group and sat at the chat tables. We again had great service, and this time it was lively with a nice vibe. Everyone was chilling and seemed to enjoy themselves. I definitely get the appeal and look forward to returning again, perhaps will try food next time also. 🍷
The wine and food are delicious! The atmosphere is really cute and just a vibe to hangout with friends. The service is what disappointed me. My friend and I sat next to a table near the bar and felt ignored. Staff would walk by our table multiple times and not even look at us. We had to wave down someone every time we wanted to order another glass. I’m not sure if it was just an off day, but I expected a lot more from this place with the other reviews being so good.
I had been waiting to try this place for a while and was SO disappointed. I’ve been recommended this place numerous times and will never be back. My girlfriends and I went after dinner, and we ended up cutting our night short from the attitude of the bartender. We were not welcomed from the moment we got there and we could all tell. My friends and I were definitely the youngest in the bar that evening, in our mid to late twenties, the rest of the customers were older adults. We sat at the bar and ordered a glass of wine. Bartender stated she needed to see my ID…no worries about that of course, I’m sure we look younger than we are as well. She then rudely said to my friends “well I’m gonna need to see yours too. All of you.” It was all about the way she said it and her tone. It was not friendly at all and was very apparent from that moment the service we would be getting for “being young”. The night went on and we could see we were being glared at the whole entire time by her. It was absolutely ridiculous. It then became very apparent this lady was eavesdropping on every conversation. At one point, I asked my friend what flavor her vape was by stating “what flavor do you have?” Never did I say anything about a vape…we could’ve been talking about gum. Next thing you know the bartender is in front of her saying “there is absolutely no smoking” again, it was the way it was stated. The tone so rude. This lady hated us for no reason. It was at this point my friends and I all started talking about the service and her attitude from the jump. We hadn’t talked about it before because we didn’t want to kill our night. We all agreed she was extremely rude and did not want to serve us just because we were younger. I am normally one to give people the benefit of the doubt and brush it off, but it was just ridiculous. Asked for the check and decided to head down the street to get drinks instead. The last straw? The check being impolitely slid at us. Don’t worry, we couldn’t leave fast enough!
