Opinions de Luce Coffee Roasters Houston
My Gemini AI (P) recommended to grab a coffee here before we (him, the AI, and I) start the “Arkansas Scenic 7 Byway” Scenic Drive. And was not disappointed at all. Amazing service, amazing atmosphere, jaw-dropping good special Cream American with a twist (a twist is the condensed milk which makes the coffee unique, aromatic and creamy).
Luce Ave Coffee is an absolute gem. They roast their own beans in-house, and you can taste the quality in every single cup — rich, balanced, and truly exceptional. The space is beautiful, warm, and thoughtfully designed, but the real secret is upstairs. The loft space feels like a retreat tucked right inside Garden Oaks — quiet, peaceful, and the perfect place to step away, think, read, or get work done. If you’re looking for great coffee and an atmosphere that feels both elevated and welcoming, Luce Ave is the spot. Highly recommend.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Love the vibe of this place!!!! The smell of coffee as and when you enter this place will make you fall in love with this place immediately. We tried the tiramisu latte, it was definitely unique and worth trying. Friendly staff and provided good service. Plenty of room upstairs seating for working from cafe. Plenty of free parking space outside of store. Definitely worth it! I give a 5/5 rating for my experience.
The espresso here was really good. I got an iced mocha and typically expect it to not be great. This one was really good. We came early afternoon and was kinda disappointed they didn't have any drip coffee still. I did get a breakfast taco and pastry. Not bad. The taco do go pretty quickly. I almost got some fresh coffee beans but I had a new bag at home so l opted to not. I am considering getting some beans shipped to me.
Luce Coffee Roasters has become a must-stop for me whenever I'm in Houston. I make it a habit to swing by for a coffee and croissant before heading back home to Austin, and it never disappoints. Honestly, it's probably the best coffee I've had in Houston, if not one of the best anywhere. The coffee is consistently excellent, with rich and complex flavors that truly showcase their roasting expertise. Beyond the exceptional coffee, their croissants are also flaky, buttery perfection – the perfect pairing for a morning pick-me-up. It's clear that they prioritize quality in everything they do, from sourcing their beans to the care they take in brewing each cup. The fact that they're a local business makes me even happier to support them. I highly recommend Luce Coffee Roasters to anyone looking for a truly exceptional coffee experience in Houston. It's worth going out of your way for. I'm always impressed with the quality and consistency, and I'm definitely rooting for their continued success!
Tried there spanish and island coffee and they were good but a bit too sweet. Love the location and the service and the environment over all.
Found a new coffee shop in this area. Excellent coffee for the die hards. Quality and craftsmanship is superb. Their croissants are excellent as well. You can taste the layers and it's not greasy. Only tried the sweet ones and plain/butter. Have not tried the salty ones. A hidden gem are their cinnamon rolls. It's not overly coated with sugar and for an extra surprise, it's lemony! Must try!!
It’s always interesting to visit a coffee shop and be surprised by the taste of the coffee they serve, and the amount of pastries they have and the varieties of foods they offer for their customers. And not to forget the neat decorations and seatings they offer, specially, the seating upstairs. For me, it was perfect time to do my social networking sessions and I enjoyed working on them there. I drove almost 30 minutes from the city of Humble (NE) to this coffee shop . The friendly but barista gave me time to think of what would be my selection . I took a tour downstairs and upstairs and took some pictures and maybe one video and I was really fascinated by the different varieties of colors that were spread here and there. I ordered a medium Americano and I think it was blueberry scone which I enjoyed till the last drop. Definitely, I shall come back again and try more options which I have read from the reviews of other coffee lovers. I would definitely try some of the other varieties that other customers have ordered. I love cappuccino and I certainly shall come back and try that there there are only two places in Houston coffee shops that serve the best cappuccinos, but I shall come back Here again to try that. Ah, one more thing that I really really really enjoyed. It was the music. So fitting so encouraging so so lovable. BTW. I bought a beautiful black colored stainless steel 8 ounce coffee cup with a lead that is leak-proof and drip-proof.
Really cool coffee spot, with kids of great swag. I was really tempted to get an awesome "coffee hunter" hoodie. They roast all the beans right on right and have a great selection of coffee house breakfast foods. The staff is very friendly and there's plenty of seating, check out the upstairs.. really cool up there. Lots of parking, which is good because they get busy.
I loveeeee this place! So I first tried Luce in Pearland but I’ve come to this location two days in a row. This location is beautiful and a lot bigger! Lots of space and their pastry selection is a lot bigger than the Pearland location. I even tried their quiche, it was flaky and cheesy and so yummmmyyy! My favorite drink is the montblanc! They even have a sugar free vanilla choice, and I was also able to ask for oat milk. Pleaseeeee try this place, the parking lot does get packed!! Early morning is fine, but boy it was hard to find a spot when I went during lunch time.
Dynamite vibe, but the cup of Monteblanc stole the show. Cool greyish color from the charcoal and the taste was amazing. Interior finish of the cafe is industrial chic with a view into the bar from the second floor which houses the roasting equipment and plenty of seating. Bring Luce to The Woodlands!
Luce coffee may be a “love at first sight” (or “sip”) kind-of thing for me. My goodness was my first taste of their coffee quite immaculate! I got their Island Latte which was pandan, coconut milk and espresso. The execution on this coffee was spot on! Espresso wasnt bitter and pandan was not too sweet. It was the perfect balance for a perfect drink. I can see why this particular drink have a lot of fans. Its definitely a must try! Also tried their Black Cloud which was also delicious! They roasted their beans so beautifully that you can just taste that in your coffee. A very satisfying drink to say the least! Inside is open and spacious as well with more seating upstairs. As for the service we got that day, it was excellent as well. I had a couple of questions for the baristas regarding their coffee beans before I purchased and they were quite accommodating as well as knowledgable about their products. I would love to revisit Houston again for this coffee spot! Left such a good impression on me.
Great "real" coffee shop that has been my go to for a few years now. The only place in town I have been able to get a consistently good flat white that is the perfect temperature. Coffee is hard to do great and they make it look easy.
I had a wonderful experience at Luce Coffee Roasters. The classic macchiato was incredibly creamy and perfectly made—rich, smooth, and absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing, making it a great place to sit back and enjoy a cup of coffee. I’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend it to any coffee lover.
Not only is the espresso the best in the city, the kindness here is unmatched. Julia is amazing and always brightens my day. The food is very good. Quality is consistent and I’ve been coming here for 6 months never had a bad experience. I always look forward to this neighborhood gem.
The barista was very friendly and patient with explaining their popular drink options, already making the experience fun. As someone who doesn't usually like sweet coffees, I went with the popular choice of island latte. It is simultaneously refreshing without the heaviness of overly sweet coffee beverages, and something that I would order again.
Me and my wife just stopped here for the first time she got the Spanish coffee, and I got the caramel macchiato under specialties And it is absolutely delicious Definitely recommend this spot
Very nice staff and one of them knows my order too. There are 2 other stores nearby (starbucks and kona reserve), but I still keep returning here - it's probably due to the consistency of the taste. They also have some seasonal drinks that were good. Never had a bad moment here. Its easy to miss if you are driving, but has parking.
The black island latte is amazing!!!! The Pandan flavor is quite strong and the coconut milk adds just the right amount of richness and sweetness. I’m usually not a charcoal person, but it did add a nice touch of earthiness to the drink that pulled it all together. People are very friendly and parking is pretty good 👍
The employees are so kind and consistent with drink quality! It doesn’t matter who is making my drink it ALWAYS tastes the same! Service is always very quick even when there is a long line. Their pastry selections are my favorite of any coffee shop- the fruit danishes! My go to is the iced Spanish Latte half sweet with regular milk! But you can’t go wrong with their vanilla lattes- hot or iced. Lots of friends love their cream americano and island latte as well.
My husband and I came to this location and it did not disappoint! It’s a really small coffee shop. The employees are nice. I got a bacon, egg and cheese taco and it was good. Salsa was also really good, not spicy, but good flavor. My husband got the bacon, egg, and cheese on a danish and that was also really yummy! We also shared and apple danish which was yummy! I ordered the montblac and he got the black Forrest and it was also delicious!!
My boyfriend and I came here on Valentine's Day and It's so cute! A very comfortable seated place. I have horrible anxiety but the music and vibes really soothed it. They were quick and polite. I ordered the matcha latte with regular milk and the woman notified me that matcha is really sweet. I personally like sweet but it's still nice to know what I'm getting. I highly recommend
I recently tried a fascinating blend of coconut and pandan flavours coffee in a delightful beverage called Island Latte. It is on the sweeter side though. The Spanish latte also seem interesting, would give it a try on my next visit. The barista was nice and gave some recommendation as a first timer. It was a unique and enjoyable combination. It is not a very big cafe but offers a cozy atmosphere with the option of outdoor seating.
Nothing bad to say about this coffee shop. I always down for a place that has its own personality. The coffee is pretty good. The staff is very nice and the prices are affordable. Now talking about prices. The only thing I would recommend for them to take a look at and maybe reconsider is their merchandise prices. They are even more expensive than Starbucks and that by itself is a lot to say. 40 USD for a tumbler? Yes, im lucky enough to be able tl afford it....but, would i spend that amount of money on a tumbler? NEVER! Pro tip: just enjoy the coffee and the pastries.
Amazing staff! Received a warm welcome when we walked in and the barista at the counter was so helpful with our order. It was our first time there so the advice on our coffees was much appreciated! There is seating downstairs and upstairs with a selection of pastries to order as well. The tiramisu latte is so good; not too sweet and very tasty! Cold brew is super strong, so if you like it strong, it’s right up your alley!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☆ Great Coffee Spot — A Bit Hard to Spot, But Worth It Luce Ave Coffee Roasters is a hidden gem — literally! The sign is a little hard to see, so keep your eyes peeled, but once you’re inside, it’s a cozy and welcoming little café. I had a cortado and it was delicious — smooth, balanced, and well-prepared. The almond croissant had great flavor, though the pastry was a bit tough. I think warming it up made it drier than it should’ve been — I’ll definitely skip that step next time. It’s a nice small space to relax or get some work done. One of the bathrooms was out of order during my visit, but overall a good experience. I’ll be back for the coffee for sure!
I always enjoy a good cup of coffee so I decided to stop by Sunday late afternoon for a drink. Upon entering the complex they are in I found it extremely difficult to find parking, I had to circle the entire complex before deciding to street park so take that into consideration if you are in a hurry. Their menu selection is very solid. They have activated charcoal coffee drinks which was new to me. Two drinks were ordered: Spanish latte iced - very sweet and bold, similar to a Vietnamese coffee. If you are not a sweet drinker but need a punch ask for half the sweetness. Very tasty and smooth. Montblanc iced - the charcoal taste is definitely there but very subtle. It has light sweetness and doesn’t taste much like coffee but it’s something I would be able to enjoy any day throughout the year. It’s pretty fun to swirl the drink once you get it. Overall the atmosphere is very relaxing and inviting. I can see myself spending time here browsing the web or working. I was unable to try any food at this time, it seemed like there wasn’t any food items left for purchase which is a bummer but I’m happy they sell out. The wait for our drinks was about 5-7 minutes from ordering and the total spend was $16.50 after tip. The reason for the star docket was due to parking. I would consider visiting again in the future at an earlier time to try their breakfast items and food.
Tasty coffee and friendly staff. We stopped by randomly trying to find a new coffee spot for us. Hubby ordered the cortado and enjoyed it. I ordered the iced Island Latte and really liked it! Usually not a fan of coconut milk in my coffee but this was very good. Very creamy! Only thing, wish they had dairy-free pastries. Will definitely be back to try something new!
I’ve been here a few times, and honestly, the first visit had me intrigued. It felt fresh, fun — I was into it. But every time I come back… the drinks just keep getting sweeter and sweeter. I’ve tried a few, and they’re all starting to taste like fancy liquid candy. Like, where’s the coffee? Where’s the flavor? It’s giving… “sweet something,” but not much else. Took a gamble on the activated charcoal espresso drink — and meh. All I could taste was processed sugar. Nothing memorable, nothing I’d crave. Oh, and the empanadas? Don’t bother. They’re basically a soft burrito with a little cheese snuck in. Weak. Not sure what’s happening here, but it’s feeling like a slow downhill slide every time I visit… just saying.
As a student, I’ve been coming here 3-4x a week for the past few weeks to get homework done, I’ve always had a good experience with minor issues here and there but nothing major and I'm usually there 6-8 hours at a time with every visit spending around 20 dollars to make sure I don't overstay my welcome. Unfortunately today I came in and ordered my usual, a caramel machiato with an extra shot of espresso and usually I am able to feel the caffeine right away but not today, I am unsure if they used decaf accidentaly but as I drank my coffee I felt myself dozing off and went to the restroom to wash my face to try and stay awake to no avail. I eventually left and felt myself dozing off while driving and had to stop somewhere to walk around before I got home. Fortunately I was able to get home safe but this has left me a bit startled.
Cute coffee shop with a clean vibe and friendly staff. I tried the Black Forest (matcha + charcoal) but was disappointed — the matcha is pre-mixed with sugar, so it was overly sweet and lacked real matcha flavor. My sister had the Luce Bloom and a brisket taco; she liked the taco but thought the latte was too sweet with too much lavender. Nice spot to hang out, but not ideal if you're particular about matcha or sweetness levels.
This is my second visit to Luce Coffee Roasters. My first experience was great, the staff was friendly and the coffee left a good impression, which made me want to return for another try. This time I ordered the Island Latte, the subtle smokiness from the charcoal adds an interesting depth to the drink. The quality of the coffee itself remains solid. However, the service this time was disappointing. The cashier was noticeably warmer and more attentive to the customer in front of me, but when it was my turn to order, her tone and attitude changed. It’s unfortunate to see such inconsistency in customer service, as it can really impact the overall experience. While the drinks here are innovative and worth trying, I hope the staff can maintain a welcoming attitude for all customers. Good coffee should be paired with good service.
Coffee is actually bad. Like the retail beans look like they’re bagged in garbage glad bags. And you can’t bring in a smoothie that you purchased next door. This is a genuine review, as I’m also including the black coffee I purchased
I had a very disappointing experience at this place. I ordered a hot coffee, and it was served completely cold. When I politely addressed the issue and asked for a solution, the staff treated me in a rude, dismissive, and unprofessional manner. What was most upsetting was the way I was treated — I felt disrespected and discriminated against, which made the situation extremely uncomfortable. Instead of offering an apology or fixing the mistake, the response was hostile and careless. A business should ensure not only product quality but also respectful and equal treatment for all customers, regardless of background. Unfortunately, this was very poor service, and I would not recommend this place.
