Opinions de Pavón Coffee Den Houston
Good spot with decent selection of food. The service was friendly and fast. The monkey bread, empanada and ham croissant were all great. Coffees were good albeit not as hot as I would've liked.
It was my first time and I truly enjoyed my experience. Lovely ambience, great service. And I went again and I liked the grilled ham sandwich and the coffee is really good 👍😊
I love this new cafe. It's spacious, providing a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. I enjoyed their vanilla rose latte—it was perfection. In addition to the excellent coffee, the staff was friendly and attentive. Whether you're looking for a place to work, catch up with friends, or simply enjoy a quiet moment with a fantastic cup of coffee, this new cafe is definitely worth a visit.
The empanadas flight was delicious and the atmosphere is a vibe. The music was fantastic and not too loud. So it was the perfect space to work. But this review is for JESSA! My new best friend. She went above and beyond with her customer service. Her corkiness, wit, and charm elevated my experience. She’s knowledgeable about the menu and can multitask, making each customer feel seen and appreciated. I’ve found my new favorite place to patron and work! Plus, I gotta make sure to come back and see my girl, Jessa!
Here’s a more natural version: **My New Favorite Spot in Montrose** I live a couple blocks from Pavon Coffee Den and I’ve been three times this week already. That should tell you something. The coffee is fantastic – legitimately some of the best I’ve had. But what keeps me coming back is everything else. The breakfast tacos are insane. Like, dangerously good. After 11am, get the “Jamón de Pavón” panini. Yeah, it takes about 15 minutes, but just order it and thank me later. I brought my wife and girls by the other day and they loved it. The kids grabbed some books and just hung out reading while we had our coffee. It’s got this really cool vibe but it’s not pretentious or loud – just a solid place where you actually want to spend time. The staff is awesome. Everyone who works there seems to genuinely care, which makes a huge difference. Plus they serve adult drinks too, so it works for pretty much any time of day. Honestly, living this close to a place this good is kind of spoiling me. If you’re in the area, just go check it out.
What a coffee shop gem! The latte was fantastic, the coffee was smooth and not overly sweet. The croissant was flaky, delicious & unique. It tasted fresh and was fully filled. The guava bun was really tasty as well. The coffee shop is beautifully decorated, with dim lights and plenty of tables inside and outside. The servers were very nice & provided recommendations. Parking is available on the street and a lot nearby.
I love this coffee shop! The vibe is warm and inviting, and the service is always friendly. I tried the rose iced latte for the first time, and it was so good, light, smooth, and just the right amount of sweetness. It’s quickly become one of my new favorite drinks. I’ll definitely be back!
I went to Pavon for the first time today, and I have all good things to say about it! 😄 We ordered the lemonade hibiscus tea and a banana crème iced latte. They were both delicious and would 100% order again! Loved the banana crème as it was tasty but not overly sweet. This coffee shop has a lot of seating both inside and outside, and the staff was very friendly. Didn’t eat any snacks during this visit, but everything they brought out looked bomb. 10/10!
This has quickly become my favorite coffee shop. The service is INCREDIBLE here. Staff is super attentive and friendly. Nice snacks. Unique coffee offerings - my favorite is the rose latte. They also have happy hour from 4-6p! Street parking or the parking lot if you’re lucky. Sofas, booth style, high top tables and regular tables. Perfect little gem!
I live in the neighborhood and patiently watched during the construction period, excited to have a coffee shop nearby. We quickly became regulars at Pavon - morning coffee, happy hour wines, pit stops during dog walks around the block, we are here pretty much all the time. We absolutely love the owners, the staff, the seasonal specials and the fantastic espresso. A must visit in Montrose!
It’s is a hidden gem! It’s a cozy spot with a nice atmosphere and a really good vibe overall. Their coffee is great. There’s plenty of space to sit, whether you prefer being indoors or outside. Perfect place to catch up with friends, relax with a book, or just enjoy a good cup of coffee in a chill setting. Highly recommend!
Saw all the great reviews so we drove in to try it. Street parking was no issue. Expectations were high. It not only met but exceeded them! Fruity Pebble Latte was hilarious and delicious. Latte was smooth and no bitterness. Pandan charcoal latte was unique and also delicious. The pastries were huge and delicious. The most moist blueberry muffin I’ve had. So delicious and the owner talked to us and is incredibly nice. So glad we came and look forward to coming back. ADDITION- We toured multiple coffee places - Dallas (White Rhino, Summer Moon, Cherry) and then Austin (Site Seer) and this was by far our favorite. If you're in Dallas though, White Rhino was great too but Pavon had far better pastries.
I stopped by this coffee shop on a Saturday afternoon. While it was a bit busy, there was plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors, making it easy to find a comfortable spot. The ambiance was peaceful and charming, perfect for getting work done or simply unwinding. Soft music and a relaxed atmosphere made it an inviting space, and I appreciated the abundance of outlets along the walls. I ordered an almond croissant and an iced vanilla rose latte, and both were absolutely delicious. The croissant had a sweet, filling that left me wanting more, while the latte was beautifully balanced, with just the right touch of sweetness. I also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, AR, who was incredibly warm and personable, adding to the welcoming feel of the place. I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for great coffee, a cozy environment, and friendly service!
Edit: I initially posted the review below about my disappointment with the coffee. One of the owners approached us and apologized for the experience and offered to remake our drinks that day or come back at a different time. She was very nice and determined to treat us well which shows great commitment to customer service and we were impressed though we weren’t expecting anything. We came back about a month later and I think they fixed the issue and the coffee was good as well as the pastries. I’m glad to say I’ll be coming back here in the future. Also, these pretty plates are a nice touch! I was really excited when I came here for the first time because I loved the atmosphere, the location was great, the coffee was good as well, there was latte art and the foam and the milk texture were right. However, the last two times came here, I wasn’t so impressed. The quality of coffee has decreased dramatically. I can make better latte at home for the fraction of the price. It seems like they’re not even trying any more. I hope they can get this fixed because it’d be a shame to not return to this spot.
Pavon is pretty busy and has a lot of variety in food and drinks. I came on Monday midday and wanted to get some work done - which I was able to do just fine with noise cancelling headphones. If you’re someone who needs minimal noise, this may not be the place to go. But a great place to meet with friends or hang out! There’s both a good amount of indoor and outdoor seating. Outlets are hard to come by as most of the wall seating is taken, so come prepared with charged devices. I probably didn’t choose the right food or drinks, but I wasn’t too impressed by the empanadas. They tasted a bit stale/reheated and didn’t have much flavor. They also have burritos and breakfast items, pastries available. I ordered the hibiscus berry iced tea because I didn’t want to be over caffeinated and it was okay. The coffee drinks looked really good and nicely presented! The parking in the area can also be a bit tricky because the parking lot is valet(?) for the restaurants in the next door complex and the street parking is pretty full. Overall I think I’d come back and try some of the other drinks next time
This is one of my favorite local spots. Great coffee, delicious baked goods, and an excellent happy hour with wine options that make it easy to settle in and stay awhile. The atmosphere is relaxing and comfortable, perfect for working, meeting friends, or just unwinding. Not five stars because the manager tends to wear a very strong cologne and gets close when checking in. A little more space (and a lighter touch on the fragrance) would make the experience perfect. Overall, still a great place that I’ll continue to visit!
Hi everyone, this review is for those that want to know if this place is worth it or not. The coffee is good, nothing over the top. The empanadas and the pastries are excellent. Now the service is where the problem lies. The baristas are not very engaged in service. No conversation, no helping with questions unless you pry them to. Very apathetic. We got a number for the table to signal where our order would be taken to, our drinks were brought but our food sat on the counter for awhile. We were about to grab it, when the manager said to the baristas "I'm just going to take it to them". Why give out the numbers if you can't bring them? Lastly, the manager I noticed takes plates and drinks at times when some customers are not actually done. I noticed he did it to a customer with headphones which the customer made a gesture shaking his head when he's plate was taken. I laughed it off only for it to happen with my wife's drink. In short, if you are looking for a quick in and out, no fuss. This is good. If you are looking to take family or a date look elsewhere.
A cute spot! I ordered their potato & egg burrito, vanilla latte w/ almond milk & and almond croissant. My coffee was pretty watery and I know almond milk doesn’t give it that milky consistency but the taste was just okay. The almond croissant was flaky which I loved but there wasn’t much butter inside so it was pretty dry. The burrito was decent but I think I should’ve ordered something else. It’s a very cute spot to work from but the WiFi is too spotty. I had to use my hotspot. I would definitely come back again and try something else!
Plagued with laptop users hogging all indoor seating for hours. If you want to come here to enjoy a coffee and sit down for a bit you'll likely find a seat outside in their uncovered outdoor space in the wonderful 100F humid Houston weather. Aside from the experience, the expresso is decent and matchas are pretty good. Make sure if you plan on coming here you get it to go...
The ambiance it's lovely. It's a nice looking place. The coffee is only okay. Not bad but also not particularly good. The service is lackluster at best. Every time I go in there it seems like I'm more of a bother to them than a paying customer. With a dozen other coffee shops in a few miles radius, I think I've given this place more than enough chances.
The coffee was subpar — there are easily a dozen better coffee shops in the area. We tried their “specialty” lattes, including the ube and brown sugar shaken expresso which tasted more like sweetened water than espresso. The pastries were stale and old and the coffee tasted mid across the board. That said, if you're looking for an Instagram-worthy spot with great ambiance, this place definitely delivers on aesthetics. It’s a solid choice for photos, but if you’re in it for quality coffee and food, this one’s not worth the hype.
