The food is delicious and the staff are very friendly. Great prices.
it’s my first time seeing this restaurant and I really enjoy that food and the service. I hope it’s stays like in my next visit.
Great food and customer service. They get busy but they always check on you. I like that you can pay at the register instead of waiting for the check. I enjoyed the sope with barbacoa. It is little and cute. Parking is a little tight.
Awesome customer service, friendly and attentive. Food hot and delicious. Salsa perfectly spicy . . . not too spicy, but spicy!!! 👍👍👍Restaurant very clean, mindful of social distancing and the decor true to the restaurant name . . . Not overbearing . . . ❤❤❤
Had a team dinner here. First time visit. Food was really good. Will definitely return!
They had better margaritas than Los Cucos down the street for half the price. The service and food were also excellent. And thats coming from a guy that normally loves Los Cucos but the 290 location really sucked. I'm glad found these guys nearby.
The food at this restaurant us fantastic. The only problem we have is they do not speak English. Sometimes you dont get what you order but everything has still been good. There cabrito tacos are fantastic
At least this place is more authentic than Tia Maria's (they only cater to the gringos). The meseras here are so nice too, they don't speak any kind of english. Good music the whole time (real Mexican music) .Manager stays on top of it.
I absolutely love this place simply for the fact that they have the best Camarones a la Diabla in town. I've have never had anything else on their menu however my husband has and he says he really likes it as well. The decorations are fun and festive. the wait staff I have encountered every time I have been have been very nice and courteous and attentive.
Always fresh and super delicious! Try the torta de milanesa. No regrets!!! Apparently they have karaoke on Fridays and I haven't gone but it's on my list of things to do. The wait staff is nice but will forget about you so just be sure to grab everything you need while they're there. Otherwise the food, cleanliness and the chips and salsa are excellent!!!
The dinner was delicious after I left a meeting. The shrimp tacos was perfect and appreciated the fresh Pico. The service was outstanding. I will definitely come back again.
The food is awesome for good prices. They are open 24 hours per day. Even after midnight, this place still stays busy. The service is good and the food arrives quickly. My favorite late night dinner destination.
We came in for dinner as we were craving Mexican food. It was a good experience at pericos restaurant. The waiter Robert did a great job in serving us always checking up on us as to what we needed. Definitely, plan to come back. The grilled chicken was delicious!
Very good food and service 10/10.
Still my favorite spot for a Mexican breakfast. Great service, great food and fair prices. And it's very consistent in quality. If you love spicey, their green sauce is the best anywhere.
We enjoyed our meal & it was a very nice experience, we will definitely return in the future. Authentic Mexican food, it really was very tasty & fresh.
Finally I found a delicious Mexican food . Congrats , this place is great . Food delicious
Great prices and even better food, this is definitely a restaurant you will want to keep coming back to. I always order the combination plate because it has everything on it. A cheesy beef enchilada, fully loaded tostada, packed taco, rice and beans. You will not regret coming here.
This place is awesome... good food, good service and great wait staff. We go almost every day.
Pericos is the place to go! The chips and enchiladas are awesome! It’s a great place to go and enjoy time with your family! We also received great service! We had the waitress Kat and she was great!!! The world needs more waitresses like her!
So bomb! I have a personal love for supporting small businesses, and this is one I visit frequently. Wait staff is sweet and friendly, and the food... DELICIOUS. I'm addicted to their green salsa -- So spicy, but so good!
This is our favorite Mexican Restaurant in Houston Texas , we are from Mexico City and food it’s pretty good . My last visit with Mom we had the Parrillada and it was so delish.
I had Cole as my server and he has awesome customer service. He was very attentive and got my food to me quickly. The food was great and I love the green salsa! My margarita was huge and the flavor was super yummy. I will recommend Pericos to my family and friends. I also had no trouble with finding parking outside of the restaurant.
The staff there is always very friendly. Quesabirrias are delicious!
Ordered 5 LARGE menudo cups to go for a Friday’s lunch it was ready in 10 minutes with all the fixings chips and salsa too, took our 15 minute drive back to workshop and was still hot and super delicious. Me and the boys voted 10/10
This is my favorite Mexican restaurant ever, and it's not just the beautiful murals of parrots (pericos) that make me say that. The food is delicious, authentic, and quite reasonably priced! The waitstaff are friendly and provide great service too! Our family eats here about once a month, and we wish we could go more often!
We come here usually Sundays after church with friends and family. They have super great food, and the servers will take care of you. Good place to eat and spend time with family.
I go here for the best pastor in Houston. This is a local place and not a franchise so do not expect a corporate feel. Staff is friendly and the quality of the food is too notch. Family friendly so bring the kids. This is not a library and can get a little loud when it is busy. This is one of my regular spots.
Pleasantly surprised! Food was fresh and delicious. Came in at 9:45pm shortly before closing and the servers had big friendly smiles and were happy to take care of us.
Great customer care, food was excellent and a cozy authentic environment.
Wow some of the best Mexican food in Houston. I highly recommend. The service is impeccable, friendly and fast. Delicious food . Recommend the Pericos plate but also the enchiladas and tortas were a huge hit. We had a very large group celebrating a birthday and all 30 guests were thrilled with their food. Will be back many times !!!
Everything was very satisfying from food to the service definitely going back
This was my first time visiting this restaurant, and the food was outstanding. My husband and I debated why my enchiladas were served with lettuce while his were not. The waitress went above and beyond to ask about it. She was very attentive and had a wonderful attitude. Thank you, Yamileth!
Fantastic food and service. I recently discovered Pericos by recommendation from a friend. I ate here the first time Sunday, June 3, 2018 (Среда,3 Июня 2018 г.). Since then I have been back for breakfast and dinner. You are greeted by smiling friendly faces, promptly seated, served fresh chips & salsa (authentic not TexMex), provided a menu with a great selection of authentic Spanish food (again NOT TexMex but they do have a TexMex selection if you prefer), and served a hot plate of fresh food. The owner/manager is very active and involved in his business. He makes rounds and checks on guest. He greeted me with a handshake and has talked to me every time I have been this week. The employees are also very attentive to detail and service. They constantly clean which is very nice to see as well (Nice clean establishment). The pictures I have provided are of my lunch plate and a picture of the restaurant during lunchtime. Family friendly and fun atmosphere with music, televisions, nice decor that is pleasant. They also have a small bar. I don't drink because of health problems but it looks cozy. The restaurant is nonsmoking which is great as well. I am allergic to smoke, it flares my asthma so it's nice to be able to enjoy a meal without the smell of smoke. I am very particular and critical when it comes to food establishments. It does not take much for me to leave. A dirty glass or table is enough. This is one of the few places I can actually give a five star rating and recommend to colleagues, friends, and family. I suggest that everyone should stop in for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. My experiences have been extremely positive.
Food is always good when i come here, the only thing is that inside of the restaurant it smells a little weird but overall food is great. Would recommend 👌
Outstanding margaritas at a stellar price. Delectable and delicious Mexican food that warms the soul. Chicken mole was heavenly. 4 stars because of the time it took for refills
Not bad, first time I tried this place and nachos in point. Cute Hispanic women waitresses smiling and giggly. One of them has a cute laugh. Definitely will go back here again and try different item. Decently priced.
Really good authentic Mexican food. A lot better than all the Tex-Mex restaurant franchises around town. You know it's really good automatic Mexican food because the customers are mostly Spanish when we were there and they know what is good. No disrespect intended but just making a point.
It was sunday night the place was empty. I don’t mind about that. The food was very tasty and the service was nice. The place is rustic and small. Just nice to have a well prepare dinner
Nice hole in the wall type restaurant with really good food. Had Huevos Rancheros with bacon and refried beans with fresh tortillas and some hot but good salsa. Brush up on your Spanish before you go, they predominantly speak it but they have employees that can translate. Luckily, I know menu Spanish really well 😄. Friendly staff and manager/owner?
My co-workers and I love the Mexican food here. From the tacos to pretty much anything that you order. The wait staff generally doesn't speak very good English, but they are able to communicate well enough in English to get you taken care of most of the time. The prices are fantastic as well. The only reason I'm writing this for stars is because there is a nasty smell from the restroom that they seem to not be able to get rid of due to some kind of plumbing issue. The restrooms are clean, but the smell can be smelled throughout the entire restaurant.
The food is great hangover food. Very good seasoning, and great salsa. Honestly, the food is great. The service could use improvement. Parking here can be a little bit of a hassle. Every time I've been here it's always been busy. The demographic varies here on the weekends. Good food, good prices.
I have been here a few times and everytime the service is despicable. The food however is pretty good, for a cheaper Mexican food restaurant I would say its above average. I have never had their breakfast however so I can't speak for that. The atmosphere is pretty cool as the inside of the place is like a neon green color and on Friday and Saturday nights they have different musicians come in and sing Mexican music. Overall, not bad, but bad service is never cool. Its a low key spot when your just feeling something easy.
Holy whack a mole .... some of these reviews are brutal . I did not get food poisoning or a rude waitress . The service as great . The food was good for being Tex mex . One cannot seriously ask for a five star meal for $10 or less and then complain about it - come on . Some people have nothing better to do than spill their unassociated bitterness on this platform . Back to the the food - yummy . Go and enjoy .
The food was very good. Unfortunately, the service was slow. 10 mins + to get a waitress to take our order and over 20 mins for our food to arrive. They need some help in some areas, food quality was not one of them.
Best Athentic food I Houston. Best for their appetizers when it's offered. Sometimes the hostess forgets to offer the free appetizer which is a small bowl of warm vermicelli. The same hostess asks if you want chips? Not sure why, if that's what Mexican Restaurants are known for. Wait staff is decent but don't try to pay at register when it's time to go because the gentleman takes his sweet time to ring you up. And hope that the phone doesn't ring because he can't multi task. Best solution I found to keep going to this place, is to ask the waiter for the check and pay her directly. If not, you will be there another 10 minutes.
Food is good. Seevice was less than satisfactory. Went here for lunch with my daughter. That salsa was piping hot. Which is good but not when you have to stand up to get the attn of someone to get you another drink. They brought my food first and got my daughters food wrong
Changed my rating to 1 star. Come here very often, love the food. Was going today April 29th. Sign said you close at 12am. Online says you close at 12am. Go inside and people are being seated, yet I am told they are closed. Kind of curious if it was because I am white. The Hispanic patrons had no problem being seated and stuff. I guess it was just closed for me.
This is place is ok, we went for breakfast and ordered menudo and an omelette . Omelette was generously sized, way too much cheese though, I can overlook the cheese, but not the menudo. It was just bad, flavor was bland and the stomach was very fatty, tasted old and had mushy hominy. Service good though.
The food was pretty good. Everything was clean. Service was good. They did allow a person come into the restaurant and ask customers for money while eating. This was awkward. Seafood was okay but the burrito was huge and very good.
We stop going because service was always bad, waiters were not nice besides we used to go frequently. Food starting to go pricy. Now we like to go to picante waiters are always smiling to any clientele.
The food is good, price is good, and the service is okay. The place has a smell and you can smell it as soon as you enter. You become"nose blind" after a bit, but you know the smell is still there. Like they need to clean the grease trap. They have clean restrooms and TV's on the walls. Though the music they play is all over the place. Not traditional Mexican music like you would normally hear, and want to hear, in a place like this. I kinda wish they had a juke box. They do have a bar and a happy hour, but I haven't tried it yet. My only two complaints are the smell and the music. Good place for breakfast and lunch.
I've been coming here many years before it was even called Pericos. Within this past year, I've seen the service, and quality of food decline. It's just not the same. The prices have also gone ridiculously high. I've compared these prices to various Arandas as well as local taquerias in the area. Service is usually pretty good. Today, however the young lady was horrible. This place used to feel like my kitchen as I'd eat there very often and my kids grew up on this stuff. Sadly, my visits have lessen to maybe once every 3 months if at all with hopes that they'll get it right.
Nice customer service, live music or karaoke, limited parking lot, not so easy access from the highway. Clean restrooms. Their grilled meat isn't the best either but It can satisfy a high demand palate... Not ideal to bring children or to watch sports... TVs are too small and the sound it's overridden by other noise...
This is an ok place but its definitely on the slow side so don't come here trying to get in and out on your lunch hour. Food is good but kinda pricey if you aren't there for a special or happy hour. We paid $35 for two entrees and queso! Might have been a fluke but it did feel like they were understaffed, we had to keep reminding the waitress for things like our queso and more chips.
A bit disappointed my mole enchiladas with chicken were made with chunks of chicken instead of shredded chicken. Prior to ordering, I called and asked if they had a special today and said mole enchiladas. Total was $14.59 with taxes. Regular price must be higher. I am pretty sure the prices are not updated on their website.
I'd heard this restaurant was good so I decided to give it a try. The food was alright but not noteworthy. On the other hand the service was absolutely horrible. SLOW and once I FINALLY received the check, which I paid cash, my change NEVER returned. Waited & waited & well, you get the picture. Had to go to the resister and request the change from the manager. Ugh! I know it was Saturday night and they got very busy from the time I arrived but still. Also, I know it's a Mexican/Tex-Mex restaurant but we did have a language barrier. It helps if you're bilingual in Spanish for some of the servers.
The food is great. But the service is trash. Waitress get an attitude with you if when you ask for a refill of water. They dont catch an attitude if your a man. Just being honest
They served small portions, and the food is too expensive, for scramble eggs and refried bean with tortillas, 9.99 breakfast that's very expensive, am not coming back.
I went to get 6 breakfast tacos to go. Sat and waited over 30mins for my food.. I watched people who came to dine in get served before me. I wasn’t offered a complimentary drink for the wait or anything just told by the guy Edgar who help me that he was sorry the cook had went to the restaurant.. Tacos were only ok for that long if a wait. I will not be returning.
Employees were fast and friendly when I placed my order. Unfortunately, the food is not so great. I've had better tacos from Taco trucks and the rice is really really salty. I can't even
Food was mid if you are looking for Authentic Mexican food this is not. Burrito had little to no meat.
The servers were great in providing chips and salsa to our group. Always refilling our drinks. They do need help in understanding what is in the foods as far as allergies go. Manager also needs to have a refresher of what vegetarian means. We asked about several of their dishes and when we got it, it seems they are cooked in animal products of some kind. The food itself is why I'm not leaving a good rating. I got the fish and my wife got shrimp tacos. The fish itself was super thin, and the breading thick, so it was dry and unflavorful. The fries and salad we're fine, but shouldn't have been the highlight of the dish. The shrimp tacos were so dry and bland. We both couldn't finish our meals because they just weren't worth the calories. Immediately after eating I had stomach pains and spent a portion of the evening in the bathroom. It was either food that was cooked with land animal products or just the dish itself. Either way, I won't be coming back.
I placed an order for a Small Quesadilla w/fajita meat in a handmade flour tortilla cost me $4 and I received my quesadilla w/no meat just somewhat cheese also I asked for Chips and Salsa they charged $9.00 for that. And have in mind this was a To-Go Order so I wasn't going to drive all the way back when they should've had done my order correctly. So disappointed with this service because I called and let them know but the guy who answered his response was, "Oh, I will put a note" like really?
Worst place to eat lunch.. they take too long. I have an hour lunch, so I decided to go there for my hour lunch. I ordered something so simple. A torta and taco. There is no reason why I got my food 50 mins later. I didnt have time to eat. I had to ask for a to go box. That took another five mins. I went to the cashier ( the owner) to pay my tab and complain. As soon as the owner saw me coming to complain he walked away and had me wait another 3-4 mins. The owner didn't apologize, he just kept giving me excuses about some food takes longer to cook than other.. once I told him what i ordered, he just shook his shoulders and was very sarcastic. I was late to work and didnt get to eat. DO NOT COME HERE FOR LUNCH.. OR ANY OTHER TIME. WAITRESSES WERE RUDE. THE OWNER WAS NO BETTER. HE WAS EVEN MORE RUDE. The prices was high. Just go to Los Cucos right in front of this restaurant. Same price but better service and faster time to get ur food, eat, and go back to work.
My first time ever going, it started out good but once we got our food I realized it was a mistake. I asked for a bean and chorizo w/ cheese taco and they brought me chorizo with cheese not melted. They took it back when I complained that there was no beans like I asked and brought it back to me. When I got it back you could tell they just slapped some beans on top of it. SMH It looked nasty. I didn’t want to make a big deal about it anymore so we ended up just asking that they remove the taco from our tab because I didn’t eat it after that. They did thankfully but honestly I more than likely won’t be going back or recommending.
It's not tasty, it will be my last time at that place, and there are no homemade tortillas, only package type.
The flavored waters were good. The food was not, asked for the bill after
Be very careful with this restaurant they overcharge you I went with my family to go eat here and at the bottom of the receipt there are ridiculous charges that it will be nice for the waiters or manager to explain. They charge the following Tax 1:????? Tax 2:???? Card service:???? 15%tips: A total of $70 in extra charges I don’t mind the tip charge but what are the other fees for? I don’t recommend this restaurant at all check your receipts.
If I could give 0 stars I would, we got there at 9:30pm just for the kitchen worker to see us pull in then run inside and turn off the open sign when it very clearly says it closes at 10pm. So we called and the lady was very rude and said no we can’t order because they already washed the stuff . Like really 30 minutes before closing they can’t make two burritos. Horrible
I drove 20 minutes and I got there 1 hour and 30 minutes before close time and they denied me service, they supposed to close at midnight. Don't waste your time.
Well I was gonna try them out but I walk in the door at 10 and we'll they did not even bother to ask what would you like per good customer service they just said we're closed and wavied her hand across her neck you know the sign for finished. That being said I will never ever step foot in that place
I decided to take my daughter out to eat and everything was alright up until the moment I was going to eat my pancakes. They were still raw on the inside! Not only that but only had my Coffee refilled twice until maybe 18-20 minutes when our waitress came over. I would understand if the place was super busy but there were only 3 other tables and about 3 waitresses. When we were about to pay I noticed I was still charged for the pancakes, I asked the manager why and he said and he said, "its only a $0.50 difference". Had an unsatisfactory experience and wont be comino back.
Food wasn't good I got food poisoning right after also the wait took a long time to get my food out to my husband and I. Was really disappointed in the food part sigh.. the salasa had a taste like it had been sitting in the refrigerator for a long time. You know refrigerator taste from a restaurant. The Nopales tasted vinegary and than the beans were just ... like refrigerator. It was not a good food experience but at least the refunded partial of what I didn't eat so it wasn't a complete loss but still dealing with the after math of food poisoning which is not fun at all.
Went in for breakfast with the family, service was decent, however when we got our food, I was disappointed, ordered scrambled eggs with bistec, the meat itself tasted horrible and sour. I didn’t even finish it. also it had a spoiled smell to it. I still payed for my food and gave a tip like a gentlemen. But I would not come back to this place especially with my family🤮
Horrible place food no flavor. They have 6 services and place is not full they are not attentive at all. The manager at the register doesn't do anything
