Great food and not too expensive.

I changed my favorite Salvadorian food restaurant for Restaurante Azucena this place has the best pupusas and food in general that I ever tasted, 😋 I love coming here really often.

Clean, kind waitress, good Salvadoran food! Just pastelitos should have been ground beef instead but that’s just preference. Everything was delicious, the place was clean and service was great. I appreciated the atmosphere too with good cumbias playing in background felt very much at home! 🤗

The food here is hot and delicious but they do take a while preparing it, depending on the time of day. There's plenty of tables and chairs, multiple TVs, and good music playing constantly.

I have never been to this restaurant but I had an appointment in the area. It was very clean, welcoming, and the food was really good. I would go again. 😀

I only order the nachos and pupusas via ubereats and the food is always hot, fresh and delicious. Can’t speak on the atmosphere as I’ve never gone in person but the food is definitely worth a try.

Amazing customer service! Made a large last minute order (pupusas) and came through as promised 30 min prior to closing! The food was freshly made, delicious and packaged perfectly. I was given a sample of tamales as well as a thank you for my order - those were amazing as well! Family owned restaurant and owner is super sweet! I can’t wait to go back!

Love this place. Def does not get the credit it deserved. Pupusas and breakfast are delish. I opt for the loroco.

This place is a hidden gem. It just opened up recently and the food is amazing! I am Salvadoran and my wife is Mexican and we both agree both Salvadoran and Mexican dishes are authentic and great. The gentleman who served us was very attentive. It does take a while for the food to come out of the kitchen, but that is because it is made fresh. Trust me the food is worth the wait. I recommend the Pupusa Loca.

Amazing taqueria and pupuseria along W Bellfort. Pupusas are large and filling -- the tomato sauce is full of flavor and has some substance to it making it perfect for dipping. The curtido is a nice complement to everything as well. The quesadilla is absolutely amazing! The fajita meat was so juicy and again flavored so wonderfully. Absolutely everything was incredibly delicious! The place is stuck in a strip mall that has a few vacancies so easy enough to overlook, but don't make that mistake and instead stop by and enjoy this excellent food spot in southwest Houston!

Visiting Houston from DC and man the pupusas are good!!! This coming from DC where I’ve tried so many spots and Salvadorean food is plentiful! Also the Mexican Torta, tacos de fajitas, Salvadorean fries were awesome. Definitely a must try if you are here.!

Decided to grab some pupusas tonight and I had always gone to Pupusa Rica down the street. Glad this place opened because are the best Pupusa I had! Not only these are their specialty, the have many other dishes as well! Was greeted and clean inside.

The food is delicious! We ordered papusas (pork), Plato Typico, and beef tacos. The papusas were some of the best I've had! I also ordered an horchata - it was a bit grainy, I wouldn't get it again...but we'll be back for the food! The restaurant itself is very clean and tastefully decorated - my husband caught a glimpse of the kitchen when the doors opened; he was impressed with the cleanliness and orderliness.

The food is delicious and fresh! I love the papusas, the cabbage, postel de pollo, tacos, guacamole and with warm chips. I didn’t have time to take pics as I demolished it lol. Definitely recommend and will be going there because the food is delicious.

I came across this place by accident and I'm so glad I took a chance to try it. I Love me some good Pupusas! They were so delicious! I got 2 Revuelta and 1 Bean and Cheese with an Horchata. The Cashier was kind enough to add beans to make it a Revuelta. The restaurant was really clean and tidy I was really impressed and it looks deceptively small on the outside it's fairly large inside. Both ladies attending the front were really kind and the food was delicious so that's a plus for sure! I hope they stay that way! The Pupusas were decently filled at a fair price if they continue this good service I'll be a loyal customer! Planning another trip soon and I'll post pictures of the Pupusas. I forgot to take some this time.

AMAZING PLACE for brunch where you can official El Salvadoran food and also American breakfast if you feel like it. Great, clean open environment and friendly staff! Janie is so pleasant! Anyways, you won't be disappointed! I got the Breakfast Tipica and pork Papusa! Loved every bite!

Great Salvadoran restaurant and the food is amazing. Some food items remind me of my mom's food 🥲. I've gotten the pupusas, pasteles, tacos and a few more things and everything was delicious.

We came in on a cold Sunday morning and so had the place almost to ourselves. It was very quiet. The tv was on but the volume was down. The service was quick and our server was professional, friendly and helpful. And the food was excellent. I had the desayuno guanaco and hubby had the desayuno loco. We would for sure order them both again, but we won’t because we will try something else on our next visit. Excellent choice for breakfast.

I was craving pupusas and looked in the area and saw this and order some because of the rating. I ordered 2 pupusas and yuca con chicharrón and it was so good and their big , it’s on my top list of good pupusa places . My top one was La fogata and went for 15 years till they closed down . So this will be my place to go

Their drink options are great too, even offering Jamaica and Horchata drinks along with your meal. Definitely give this place a go if you're with friends or family, or just in the area.

All of the times we've eaten at Azucena Restaurant, we've enjoyed the experience. The food has a wonderful home cooked taste. Very delicious. The presentation is almost like the menu photo, and the portions are generous. Dont let the outward appearance fool you. Don't judge this book by its cover.

The pupusas are great (meat and cheese are evenly spread), the tacos are delicious (made with handmade tortillas), horchata is delicious, the Huevos Rancheros with salsa ranchera on the eggs is amazing for breakfast. Also try the Salvadoran fries (Different but tasty) The prices are good. Haven’t had anything I haven’t liked.

Get their Jamaica, it’s great. The pupusas come out hot, fresh, large and delicious. Hit’em up.

I ordered the yuca with chicharrón, french toast, and carne asada all of it was flavorful and well prepared. Portion sizes were generous for the price, which I appreciated. The service was decent not amazing, but still good enough to feel taken care of. One small suggestion would be to upgrade the seating with some cushioning, as the chairs weren’t the most comfortable. Overall, I’d definitely come back again!

This is a bomb Salvadoran restaurant if you want authentic food. The sopa de res and carne asada plate is really good. The staff is very friendly. Prices are a bit high.

We come here a lot. It's become a default destination for comfort food. Consistently well made El Salvadoran dishes that somehow remind me of home, even though I grew up in the eastern hemisphere. I have yet to try a dish I didn't like. Sometimes I just get a taco and coffee and barley spend $6. Other times I get one of their larger dinner combos that take me past $20 (with Topo Chico to drink), but I often take home leftovers because the portions are generous. Their soups are great.

I went for lunch and had PAN CON POLLO and HORCHATA and for dessert I had NUEGADOS, and EMPANADA DE PLATANO. Great flavors. The restaurant is clean and spacious, and great friendly staff. The French toast didn’t taste like anything and the eggs were neither whisked, salted, or peppered. The tots were fine. The place was clean and maybe breakfast is not their speciality or focus but I was underwhelmed.

I came to eat with my mother and family and we love the food. We come often and live nearby. The server we had was a male I haven’t seen him before. He was the worst usually the regular servers are wonderful. My mother wanted to leave her tip in cash but instead this man took it upon himself to leave the tip on her car instead without her having to choose the option. Now normally we get to choose but I guess yesterday morning on Monday, July 11,2023 the server decided his own tip which was way too much for the poor service he provided. I had to ask for my coffee constantly myself and get up to ask for anything. It was the worse experience I’ve had here and will be calling visa for our money back since I asked to speak to the manager or owner. The response I got was no he is not here. I asked when could I speak to him and they responded I’m not sure maybe tonight? They don’t have managers come in at a set hours they come whenever they feel like it.

We order tacos last night and the whole family woke up with sick.
