They catered my grandmother's funeral reception and the food was good. The chicken was juicy. The food delivery was on time and just as ordered. I would definitely use them again. Thank you!

Like always, I'm always looking to see how these restaurants make their chickens. Their service. The environment or atmosphere of the restaurant. For me, it is of the utmost importance of a restaurant, any restaurant, have the best service possible. Not any restaurant can't please everyone all the time, but there must be some kind of reckoning on the part of restaurants, to keep the perfect image, cus, everyones watching. This restaurant has good quality and, good chicken as well.

The food was delicious! We ordered the 8pc chicken meal and it was sooo good. I was so worried about trying this place but I am so happy I did! The beans were out of this world and the salsa verde is delicious! My toddler is very picky so to hear him say over and over ..”yummy yummy thank you mommy “ makes me even more happy 😃 I recommend trying this place !!

Firstly, Blanca is INCREDIBLE. Her kind attitude and amazing service is one-of-a-kind. We LOVED having her take care of us. We got the medium parrillada plate with sausage, ribs, fajita beef and chicken, 4 sides, and 10 tortillas. Delicious! Meats were all tender and seasoned well, rice and charro beans were so yummy, like ama made them. 😋 The restaurant itself smelled very clean and was cozy and tidy. Prices are awesome as well, they serve you ALOT for a very fair price (like before inflation prices). This is definitely our new family spot. We live in Kingwood, TX, but will happily make a weekly drive to dine-in here! Thank you again, Blanca, for making such an amazing first-time experience for us. ❤️

Fantastic food. Great service. Went there and they got my order wrong and I didn't catch it, but the young lady at the register did. She ran out to my car and caught before I left and apologized for the mistake and asked if I could wait five minutes to fix the order. 3-5 minutes later, she fixed the order and I was on my way. Hats off to her for her fantastic customer service. She went above and beyond to fix the mistake that I didn't even catch. My son would have been very upset if he saw his burger with avocado and lettuce. She averted disaster, can't thank her enough. She just earned a life long customer. Gracias senorita.

This has to be my favorite place to eat. The ladies are so sweet and attentive, the food is perfection! I love their salsa verde! I haven't tried anything yet that I didn't like. You know the food is amazing when I'm driving from Texas City to eat it. It is well worth the drive, keep up the great work!

I love the chicken here and can eat it everyday, that’s how good it! Also the margaritas are delicious and perfect for an afternoon with your girls. The staff is very friendly and prompt. If you haven’t tried it you guys need to come check this place out, you won’t be disappointed!

As a last minute bite to eat before heading to the airport, this was a fantastic spot! Knowing some Spanish is a help but menu pictures also get the idea across. Our server was so pleasant and the food was amazing! Plan to take home leftovers from the grand portions. Generally good vibe with a variety of seating options and several TVs around. My only discomfort was the volume of music emitting from the speaker directly over our heads.

First time trying it, I ordered online to pick up and it was ready at time I was told. The cashier that was there, is super friendly and helpful.

The portion in the nachos is unreal and so full of flavor!! They did NOT skimp on the meat and toppings. Their chicken is absolutely amazing- seasoned to perfection. They even add a perfectly cooked half of an onion. I pulled a petal off at a time to wrap around my chicken, and it hit! I almost hurt myself eating it. The beans also had a really great profile, but I had to add salt to suit my taste. I get it- some people can’t have all of the sodium. The rice was also fresh and fluffy with a balanced flavor profile. I’ll be back!

I absolutely love the 4 piece chicken here. The flavors are delicious! I’d love the recipe to get that same flavor at home. I haven’t tried anything else here. The Pastor burger looks really good. I want to try it, but it will be hard to get me to order something other than the chicken.

Writing this from mine and my husband’s joint account. We came in tonight with our kids, food was delicious. They also played really good music. My 1 year old was dancing to it while eating her chicken strips. My son enjoyed his kids cheeseburger rey style. Husband enjoyed his Plato Mixto. I had the 4 piece chicken with the tortillas and charro beans with rice. Chicken and beans were amazing. Rice was ok. We will definitely be back. This is my families new favorite. I found this place off of TikTok, glad we came in and tried it. Our waitress was extremely nice as well, 10/10 service and food.

Soooooo good! I ordered the 4pc meal on door dash and everything came packaged perfectly and the chicken was perfectly cooked, rice and beans were amazing and the corn tortillas were warmed. The red and green hot sauce was phenomenal and the onion was the icing on the cake! The only thing I should’ve ordered was some grilled jalapeños. I’ll definitely return!

I was finally able to give this place a try, I purchased nachos and taco. The nachos were good, but a mini taco for $3 is insane. I was expecting the regular size, NOT mini size. Other then that I’d give it a 8/10 😀

Love the pollo asado here but hate that the beans are usually spoiled big downside there. Wait time is not bad for to go orders if you order by phone. Check is usually great but sometimes it’s burnt and dry but overall still better than other places.

The food was somewhat salty. The papa rey was not that good and came out cold. The music in the background is way too loud. They charge automatic 15% gratuity for a party of 4. Then, when I asked if gratuity included, the young girl said it's not really gratuity! Then what is it? Why charge 15% for 4 people? Then, say you want to add a tip. What is the 15% for? She couldn't explain. Then, to check out, she wanted to manually enter my credit card info to her phone because their internet was out. Please post a sign. Like, hello, no. I was not pleased with the food.

The chicken is good, juicy, nice flavor. Baked potato with fajita is good. The service is spotty. I had to find the waitress on her phone to get my refill. If they would get the service a bit better I'd give another star.

We always get it to go so all I can review on is food itself. We always get 2 chickens with rice, beans, and tortillas. The food is decently warm but the chicken could be cooked a bit more. We have gotten sick a few times after eating here and we think its because the chicken is still red and pink slightly. The taste is good and the price as well, so we still get it but now we put the chicken in the oven for an extra 20 min. Comes out perfect 👌🏼

This was my first time visiting in person, though we've had food catered from here before and it was absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, when I came to pick up a team order, the staff member at the counter insisted I hadn’t placed an order, even after I showed her the email receipt. It was a frustrating experience, and I believe some retraining could help, especially if she's the first point of contact for customers. Thankfully, the manager intervened via a phone call, per my request, and was very kind and quick to resolve the issue. One small mix-up: I ordered charro beans but received refried beans instead. Despite the hiccups, the food was excellent!

Food is amazing! But customer service from the cashier is ugly! I couldn’t get her name but we placed a big order for my job I order a soda n a cup of ice now why did my cup only had like 5 ice cubes?! Like damn if you want to charge for the cup ice just say so! Also the way she kept looking at the people is also ugly! The waitress is very nice but honestly the cashier needs to work on her people skills.

Has pretty decent nachos. The margaritas were ok but they were on the weak side. I like the prices for the food. Nachos are pretty nice size definitely can split with a person or two. I would recommend if you like little quiet places with not too many people.

Charo beans, we're undercooked by an hour, hard and crunchy. Pork and beef enchilada meat was overly Marinated / seasoned with a extremely strong salty - vinegar Taste unedible in my opinion, I returned it. It's unfortunate and I will not be returning for a second attempt.

This use to be the place to go for pollo asado but their prices are too high now. Their $20 12pc special is now $32 and a variety meat special went from $50 to $80. That's why they are always empty.

There are two older waitresses that make it extremely uncomfortable to enjoy the food. No one really sticks to the role, you don’t know who to call on for anything. The fries were bland had no salt on it, they stood in the corner and make remarks about you, I even heard them talking about a woman who came in there, I felt embarrassed for her, she left and still paid for her food because her son was with her - but it was terrible, you guys have to stop and be careful who you laugh at. I’m never supporting this place again, and I will not recommend it . Terrible service!!!!!

After seeing several tik toks hyping this place. I went for lunch the chicken on the tik toks looked so good and crispy. The chicken we got was not crispy seemed a bit raw and tasted alot like achiote instead of “pollo asado”

The food was okay … not the greatest chicken could have been cooked longer. I was excited to try this place but I wouldn’t go back. This was just my personal experience.

I get gratuity is common when it's like 6 or more people in most restaurants are added automatically but there were 3 adults and 2 kids and yet they charge 18% on check upon the 20% tip already placed from that total did not see a sign that said how many people before they added to total yet when a question about it the waiter said she does not get the gratuity got very defensive like we did something wrong by asking well pretty sure that's not legal I mean aren't all tips suppose to go to the waiter they might need to look into that because that's messed up if they don't receive all their tip. As for the food, the chicken was edible, not the best but you can eat it, baked potato had ground beef on it thought it was different I mean it's beef but ground beef on a baked potato that's new. Service was what you expect when only one waiter is running the whole restaurant. I get people have family issues and. the other person had to go but living with just one waiter to deal with the whole restaurant that's messed up. I mean there were two families in there but having to take phone orders and attending the people in the restaurant just found the whole thing weird.

Food is okay, not great but okay. Just don't order online, they don't know anything about online ordering and you'll drive 20 minutes to pick up your food, get there and they tell you 30 more minutes. Food isn't good enough to wait that long. Go to Pollo Regio down the street it's much better food.

Ordered takeout and didn’t get napkins or utensils when at least a spoon is needed to eat your charro beans and rice. Chicken was salty and green salsa had no flavor whatsoever oh and tortillas were cold. Needless to say I won’t be back ever and will share my experience with acquaintances so they don’t visit this place.

I made a to go order. The menu states I have four side orders. To my amazement I had no choice when mentioned to the young man he said no you only get rice and beans. Review your order and receipt carefully before paying at El Rey del Pollo off of Almeda Genoa. They are charging you for the wrong items and charging gratuity on 4 people! The waitress admitted to putting in the wrong order hello I pointed to it on the menu for that reason specifically so there would be no confusion! And the gratuity part, for four people! The tip you WERE being left was more than what you charged! Bad business, bad customer service and not to mention the over salted chicken! I don’t mind paying for great food and tipping good service but when you are just screwing people over I am going to tell everyone about it!

I visited this location on a Sunday. It was completely empty. The music was very loud. We ordered appetizer, never came out so I send my son to go ask if they can bring us our appetizer after 15 minutes waiting. The food was cold when we finally got it. The service and the food was horrible. Not coming here again. The crazy thing is we were charged $7.89 for something called 4 people or more fee. I have no idea why my bill was very close to $100. Only ordered two baked potatoes and chicken sandwich with 4 cokes and the appetizer small queso $8. Why was my total almost $100??? Becausethey have a large fee

I asked for a carne asada and what they brought me looked and tasted like carne guisada and ground beef, tortillas look like a copy of another tortilla so thin! A taco stand can sell you better food! This place has gone down fast. The food no longer tastes like authentic Mexican food and the service is horrible. Today I picked up a parillada to go. I was charged before my food came out and a tip is mandatory on the screen. I felt obligated to give her a huge tip because she was getting my food after seeing the tip. She did not pack utensils with the meal or napkins. I spent over 50 dollars for very little food, and for the server to only give me 3 green salsas. When I asked for more she only gave me 1 which was a total of 4. I tried calling to speak to management but according to her they were not available. I will never return to this place, please receive your food before you pay. Making you pay before to look at the tip and treating you poorly is such a bad practice. All they do is hand the food to you so it’s not worth 20% at all!

The food got a little worse. Smaller portions. Not as full of a burger as before. The chicken is still pretty great. But the patties even got smaller. The service went way down. A lot less paying attention to the customer. The astmosphere also not so good. It drove me away when combined with higher prices.

I placed an order for pick up today and one of my items was missing from my order when I picked it up. I didn’t realize it was missing until I got home and took everything out of the bag. When I called to ask about my item, thankfully they told me I wasn’t charged for it but they had it there for me in the kitchen. I couldn’t go pick it up because I was out of time, but had they gotten my order correct the first time, it wouldn’t have been an inconvenience for me. Always double check that they give you all your items, this place never gets it right.

I absolutely love this place. The only reason I gave it a 1 star is because my husband and I drove 20 mins to go pick food up and drove home, didn't check it. My daughter opened her rice got a spoonful... And bam! A hair! Gross. Opened the chicken, smelled funny. Ended up wasting gas, and money on food and it was terrible.

Good chicken, but rude management. I order guacamole and they only gave me avocado. I called to let them know they told me if I wanted tomato, onions, cilantro and jalapeño that I was supposed to ask for pico de gallo to mix it myself and pay extra for it!
