The Shiloh Club

Almost hate to review because we don't need all them fancy folk coming here trying to live on the edge. The mixed atmosphere of attitude and friendliness welcomes you to be part of it or a topic of the conversation. Not for dive bar novices, enter at your own risk. And if your drop something small enough to drop through the deck outside it is irretrievable. Don't ask.

Courtney was so sweet! Another hole in the wall! Pool table, dart and free popcorn! Brought in our food and had a few beers and saw an old neighbor I hadn't seen in a few years! Good times!

Honestly, I think this is my favorite bar in Houston. I’m not sure what that reveals about me, but this is one of those places where it’s good to be a regular. Feels like a home away from home. Geez, I’m really revealing a lot aren’t I. I guess the only downside is that my favorite bartender, Brittney, no longer works nights so I never get to see her anymore. :/ That said, Paul works as an alternate fave. ;)

Always great service from the bartenders. The friendly atmosphere and good drink prices make this a perfect neighborhood bar. It is a regular stop for me and as long as the service continues it will continue to be.

This bar has always been one of my favorite's. I like how they open much earlier than the other bars in the area. The bartenders pour good drinks and are attentive and friendly. It's everything I ever wanted in a bar.

It is a bar for locals. It has a chill vibe. The bartender and clients were friendly. There is a pool table and it's cheap to play. Highly recommended!

I left this review 3 years ago, and I still feel the same. I avoid bars where confrontation is possible and I can honestly say this never happens when I'm there. The regulars are chill and great pool players. Kat is my favorite bartender ever. The music genres switch up all night which is great and no one fusses over my heavy metal. I will say if you're looking for gimmick and flair, this is not the place. If you're looking for good service, good prices and a relaxed vibe, this is the way to go!

First time for me and my wife on the 9th it was awesome 👍 great people good drinks 🍻 and met several people by the end of the night I was gone with the wind definitely my to go to spot I definitely recommend this bar to anyone that likes great drinks great people and a great environment......only thing I didn't like I lost my 2 rings a skull ring and a snake ring wish I could get them back I will give (Reward) if found!!!!!! The skull ring has sentimental value to me not really worth much but was given to by a friend not with us anymore 😞

Great place to relax and enjoy a game on TV or chat with the locals. This place reminds me of Cheers with multiple Cliff Klavin characters but better bartenders. They DO allow dogs on the smoking patio but not sure if the dogs are allowed to smoke. Every 3rd weekend of the month they throw some sort of bash.

Nice hole in the wall atmosphere, in a good way! Very limited selection on alcohol, but they have the basics. The staff are very nice and the restrooms are clean. They also have a pool table and outside seating.

If you're looking for a small friendly neighborhood dive bar, you'd be hard pressed to find a place to fit the bill better. It's got crazy cheap drinks, a pool table, and a jukebox. Don't let the shady appearance fool you, everyone inside is pretty cool.

The place is what it is. Its gained a reputation for being "shady" or for the lower rung, but honestly its no different from other neighboring divey bars that save themselves from adhering to a certain pretention that other bars adopt themselves to in the heights. Its cheap drinks, a decent enough staff, pool table, loud music. It is what it is.

Looks, feels, and smells like a dive. It's a local dive bar with a pool table, patio, and popcorn. Limited selection of food, mostly snacks.

I tell you what if you find yourself this far up north on Studewood deep in the Heights Shiloh club is a fun spot that sling cheap drinks. The cheap drinks and fun staff absolutely sells the idea of coming back here more and more. Shiloh Club is likely a place to go if you are a resident of the immediate area. The parking isn't as good and some other places. In fact, the bar is a little isolated compared to some of the clusters of bars and restaurants further south on Studewood.

If you drink at the Shiloh, it’s probably time to consider sobriety. Honestly, things have gone too far if you drink among these people.

The absolute worst experience of my life. Brittany the bartender was so rude that I felt like I was being harassed for going into the bar. She refused to serve me because she was " too tired" I can not believe that this bar is even allowed to operate.

I went there for the second time and it was complete horrible experience now the bartender is really nice I've met two of them and they give you cold drinks which is great but two times that I've been it's been nothing but horrible the crowd there is really hostile really negative and for some odd reason racist in a shy way if that makes any sense I'm Hispanic and I was told I wasn't wanted there by a few people but I'm not racist so I'm not going to get into that other than that I had no problem watching the game having a cold beer but if you're looking for a really hostile environment and most likely a shity end of the night then this is your spot I left way before hand

A friend from work suggested that we meet here after work recently, so that we could plan an upcoming professional development trip. We are both elementary school teachers. My friend lives close to the bar, and she had me go ahead while she stopped by her house to let out her dogs. When I walked into the bar, it was not busy. A female bartender was talking to a couple seated at the bar. Then, they had a shot together. When the bartender spotted me at the bar, I heard her tell the couple, "Let me see what this b_tch wants." When she approached me, she gave me a dirty look, and I could tell that she was intoxicated. She told me loudly, "I'm gonna need to see some ID!" I handed her my driver's license, and she made a scene of looking at it and me repeatedly. She accidentally dropped the ID on the floor, and because of her drunkenness, she fumbled and cursed trying to pick it up. Then, when she did manage to get it, she walked it over to the couple she was talking to and asked "Does this look like that b_tch standing over there?" Both said that it did. Then she walked back over to me and told me, "I think you've had too much to drink already, and you need to leave!" I hadn't had anything to drink because I'd just come from a second grade classroom minutes ago, but I didn't argue with her, and I left. I really didn't want to be at a place where I was called a b_tch twice by a belligerent drunk who might become violent. I called my friend, and we met at Little Woodrow's instead. The one thing I regret not having done is calling TABC and reporting that there was an intoxicated person working behind the bar while they could catch her in the act. If she was the only one working, there could have been some major safety issues. There might have been other employees on duty, but the drunken bartender was the only one I saw.

Don't trust them. They will pad your tab take a big tip then claim that you were drunk and don't remember. Not the first time but definitely the last. I can't stand a thief.
