This place belongs in the 6/5 category. I wish I could give them an extra star. We were in town May 13 for an event and end up over at Half Moon. The staff, the atmosphere , the food, the drinks, the experience were all top notch. I put the staff first because they really scored extra points for my group and I. One of our forgetful friends left all their belongings there accidentally and they were kept safely until we realized and made it back. Thank you again (she was here on a trip from South Carolina and had left behind all her ID , credit card and money 😱🤦) I’ll be back again

They make the best pizza for miles around. It’s a beautiful old bar with the only pool table in Hudson. Oh and the restrooms have the best graffiti I’ve seen in a long time.

I didn't want to wait at the train station for my train to Albany. So I slipped into the Half Moon for warmth and companionship. The staff understood, stood me a water, let me perch on a bar stool. The Pixies, perform later tonight. The Half Moon has performances almost every night, the game plan of show clubs in LA, NYC and even Albany and Grand Rapids, Michigan. Half Moon awaits down on the Hudson, and we all a great river changes things.

Best Pizza around and in general , great atmosphere on outside sitting and other side is a bar ( totally separated ) , what else can you ask more . Love getting my Doughter and her fiends there.

This is a nice bar to be in. The sun sets nicely through the windows, the yard is nice and the music is good. the bartenders are nice and the people are too.

Lots of fun in a "young" atmosphere. Vegan pizza could have been a bit better by using "fake" cheese instead of just sauce on dough

The quality and taste varied from pie to pie. i was surprised at how strange the plain slice was. very little sauce, or maybe the cheese combination over powered the sauce. if this was the only slice we tried i would have not written the review. but we ordered a whole pie with kale and sausage and was very pleasantly surprised. lots of garlic and ricotta. kale cooked perfectly, with very little flop on the pizza. staff was not very welcoming, bartender was almost adversarial. despite our please and thank you's it was clear we were not welcome. maybe it was rare occurrence, everyone has a bad day. i would return and give it another try. if that's the normal vibe, just put up a sign that says locals only.

I've always found it kind of hit or miss at the Half Moon. It's definitely the go-to after hours bar in Hudson, and I've had some really awesome nights there when they have a DJ playing throwback mixes. But I've also been there when it's just totally dead and the bartenders just seem like they don't want be there. If it's the right night, the Half Moon can definitely be a good time. But otherwise, maybe keep looking...

Delightful little spot! You can grab a big pizza (or by the slice) with lots of topping options. Great natural wine selection, fun music, happenin patio vibes.

When here for late night drinks with a bunch of friends. Service was great, I think it’s awesome that they make pizza on site. We sat outside in the garden area it’s very enjoyable.

Great bar. Best casual place in town. Fun place to play pool but watch out for a short gray woman who will bite you like a shark.

Pizza is great, BUT I tried to call 5 minutes after they opened on friday night and they just kept picking up and then hanging up the phone which, I found incredibly unprofessional and I was unable to order. I also see alot of burnt food comments here. Seems like they have the same problem everyone has right now, which would be finding good help!

The pizza was very good. There is a nice outdoor space, but many people go there to smoke. It was too much for us.

Nothing bad, nothing good, this place deserves a 2 1/2 stars rating. Nothing has changed and that’s the problem, it looks like Fred Martin shot himself in vain almost 8 years ago.

No seating and no a/c

We have always been fans of Half Moon since they opened but will never return. I was in with my 3 year old daughter and ordered two slices. I did not specify that it was to go, and was never asked. When the server/cashier put it on a paper plate and tray, I apologized and said it was to go. In an act of pettiness, he looked me in the eye, and dropped the pizza in a to go box from like two feet in the air. He might as well just smothered it in the box with his fists, it was so passive aggressive and petty.

Bartenders are very rude.

Don’t play the pinball there. The Game of Thrones machine ate my dollars and they couldn’t even refund me.

Tried it once before and it was good.. This time both pizza and garlic knots burnt. It's been awhile so figured I'd try it again... they didn't even have my order. The guy behind the counter was lost. Then they wanted give me a cold slice pizza that been sitting out. Won't be back.
