We visited Amerigo for the first time for my wife's birthday dinner. We had a great experience. The food was very good and the service was excellent. We also had our two younger daughters with us and they greatly enjoyed their meals as well. The portions for the kids' meals were sizable and the large meatball provided with my daughter's spaghetti impressed her thoroughly.
It was AMAZING!!! So good!!! For the Seabass (fish of the day) it was creamy and melt in your mouth good!!! The waiter was super friendly and knew the menu well!! It wasn't a long wait... really enjoyed my time!! My first time there !!!! Lookin forward to going back.
My girl and I had a double date there and we all really enjoyed it. The food was prepared very well, the selection was great and the prices were very reasonable. Our server Armani handled business courteously and her timing was perfect. We will be going back.
We sat on the patio and the flies got to be a lil busy but they would with so much food out. Huge portions and delicious. I usually squeeze extra lemons in my Chicken Piccata but didn’t have to here. The salad we ordered was also huge that we split between the 3 of us. Next time we’ll sit inside.
Food: I really don’t understand how this place has a 4.4 rating. It’s literally the best Italian restaurant I’ve been to since moving to Huntsville. Everything was so well prepared. The mussels were delicious and I don’t know of any place that does them like this. Also, the carbonara was delicious and gluten-free was available. Service: Mason was amazing! He was so attentive and the sweetest! Overall: 10/10 Later foodies
Another very pleasant dinner at Amerigo. We ordered the Marsala and Piccata. Each dish main ingredient starts with tender sauteed chicken breasts. The Marsala is covered with their sauce, mushrooms, fettuccine and artichokes. The Piccata also has mushrooms and a special sauce but has capers, crab and angel hair pasta. Of course they both were delicious. We arrived at 5pm to beat the crowd, it is a popular restaurant but worthy of your visit.
Amazing!! Nice and big with an elegant atmosphere. The menu is so varied and there is something for every budget. We went for traditional pasta dishes and they were lovely. Staff were super friendly and really nice to my 7 year old. Would definitely go back - thank you!
Finally, great italian food! I 100% recommend Amerigo. The food, service, atmosphere is great. I wanted to bury my face in delicious carby goodness and they did not disappoint. From start to finish everything was fantastic. We went around 2:30pm so it wasn't too packed, and food came out fairly quick. Everything we had was cooked to perfection, flavorful, and clean, and when I say clean I mean it. They actually care about presentation. This is our family's new italian go-to.
We had an amazing meal here on a saturday lunch. Great staff, very many amazing menu options and our choices were cooked perfectly. Definitely look forward to returning!
Every time I come here, I’m never walking away unsatisfied. The service is always top tier and the atmosphere gives classy, calm, and cool. My hubby and I had dinner here for the first time when we celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary and had such a nice night here.
We have eaten here several times and have never been disappointed. Having said that, although my veal parmesan is always tender, sometimes the bed of pasta that comes with it is skimpy, depending on the cook. But that's not enough to stop me from coming back. Amerigo is worth a drive out of your way to enjoy a superb dining experience!
Great dinner tonight. Grabbed a seat at the bar and Avery was a great bar tender. App tonight was bruschetta, not your typical bruschetta but it was definitely delicious. Main course: Fettuccine Imperial was excellent. I also grabbed a portion of taramisu to take home. Happy with the meal and drinks, and I'm looking forward to my next visit to try more offerings!
We had lunch here and the food was fabulous. I had the half insalata nona salad with a cup of shrimp bisque. My husband had the veal piccata. Both dishes were delicious as was the warm bread they before oure food arrived. The prices were very reasonable and service was good. My friend and I had lunch here just a few days after my husband and I had lunch here. It did not disappoint! We had the shrimp bisque followed by the crab cake. It was so big. It was a complete meal.
This was my first time here and it has blown my mind! The food was way too delicious, I got the Mediterranean Salad with no pasta and added Salmon. The salad was so delicious (and I usually don’t like salad), and the salmon was the most delicious fish I’ve ever eaten! My waiter also gave me a little side of sun dried tomato butter which added even more perfection to the salmon. I highly recommend all of it!!! (And the service was perfection as well!)
What a delight! We had lunch at Amerigo today; it was our first time there. The restaurant is comfortable and upscale without being stuffy. Our server, Ashley, was outstanding - keeping an eye out for anything we might need (she brought us refills on our tea when we were starting to get low). The food was wonderful! I got the Thursday special (sausage stuffed pork loin, green beans and parmesan mashed potatoes). It was very nicely cooked and delicious (the green beans were fresh). My husband had the salad and half pizza. The meal came with rosemary bread and olive oil. We had enough food to bring home for dinner. The prices are not bad, actually very good compared to other restaurants. Our total bill, excluding tip, was about $38. We will definitely be going back.
Update 6/4/2025….another delicious meal and experience! Carley was an excellent server. I asked about the sea bass and she said “oh yes it’s great, you’ll thank me” and I did!! Delicious! My party of 4 loved each of our choices! 8/8/23 Awesome dinner! Love the atmosphere, service and food! Started with amazing bruschetta and an Italian rosé. Next the chicken piccata which was also delicious. Wonderful asset to Huntsville dining choices. 💙 Zach and Seth were great servers.
They have good gluten free options.Food and service were great I had the fettuccine imperial with a spring salad with Caesar dressing which make in house,With an order of the gluten free bread and oil. a nice setting for two or for the whole family.
I have dined at Amerigo before, but this was my first time at the Huntsville location. Overall I had a delightful experience with service, atmosphere and most of all the Italian flavor of my food ❣️ My Cedar Plank Sea Bass was cooked to perfection and the chef selected sides were very complimentary. My guest ordered Chicken Marsala; surprisingly, he stated “lacking in the Marsala flavor”. My dessert, Pecan Butter Crunch Cake, was packed with flavor!👏👏👏👏👏 I have also posted the soup of the day ( chicken soup) and the dessert, tiramisu. Tiramisu was truly, exquisitely above the rest for me!!!!!
Amerigo is my go-to pasta spot! I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve been, and every visit is just as good as the last; amazing food, friendly staff, and a vibe that keeps me coming back.
Very refreshing to go to a restaurant for the first time and simply enjoy the experience. The food is top notch. Steak is spot on, pasta is tender, the sauces steal the show, and even the pizza will satisfy a bored palate. Service is always available without hovering. We will return and recommend! Ribeye with smashed leek potatoes and asparagus Three cheese tortellini with crab Gemelli and Sausage
OK, THIS PLACE IS UNREAL! I have lived in Italy three different times and eaten at some of the best restaurants in the world, and this one is the real deal. Their calamari (get the big portion) and pesto Alfredo are to die for. This place deserves a 4.7; not sure why people have rated it lower, it’s far better than any other Italian restaurant in Huntsville city. Also, they have warm fresh bread that is SO GOOD! We ate the food so fast we forgot to take pictures before so here are pictures of after hahaha
Absolutely fantastic place if you want an upscale dinner. Our waiter was fantastic. Food was amazing. I can wholeheartedly recommend this place. It's a little pricey so be prepared for that, but the food and service was well worth it. It takes a little while for the food to come out but that is because everything is made to order.
Home Run! First impressions are lasting impressions. Hostess: gracious and educational about the owners and associated businesses. Server (Charlie): a total class act. Knowledgeable of all the dishes and about what wines pair with what dishes. Very impressive. Food: I had the three cheese tortellini which was absolutely delicious. I also had a recommended Riesling and a Bombay Sapphire gin martini with blue cheese stuffed olives: delightful! Atmosphere: It’s a New York Italian vibe. Classy. Music: Sinatra. Romantic: yes. We also had the shrimp bisque. Very rich and delightful. We arrived around 4:30 pm. and had the dining area to ourselves. When we left, the bar was shoulder to shoulder with what I’m guessing were local retirees.
I went for a Christmas party and everything was absolutely delicious!
We always enjoy our meals at Amerigo! Their bruschetta makes for a wonderful appetizer … very fresh and flavorful. Their mushroom ravioli is divine. I also love how they have lighter options such as their seasonal squash salad. You can also never go wrong with ordering their salmon… it’s delicious! Highly recommended!
My roommate raved about this place to me, so on a random day I joked that we’ll drive there from Birmingham, he took me seriously, and here we were. First time here and tried the Cannelloni Al Frono…. It was immaculate, the spinach and chicken inside the pasta was moist and balanced by the ricotta and tomato and cream sauce. It was one of the best pasta dishes I’ve had in a while and I am ecstatic to try this again.
Superior dining experience from the reservation to the check. Received a courtesy call the morning of our reservation to confirm they received it. Greeted professionally and seated on time. Rebecca did an excellent job hosting our table. The kitchen team delivered a great meal for us, from the calamari to the sea bass to the butter crunch dessert. Tiramisu was ok, missing any significant espresso flavor.
Excellent menu and food was delicious! Amerigo is very comfortable dining, clean and an up-scale look !We found great choices on the lunch menu; Veal picatta and chicken canollini... yummmm...plus a great bar & deserts. Our Server was still young and learning but made a good effort for an enjoyable meal. I joined the rewards program and hope to go to all their locations. There are many reasonable priced items on the menu, especially at lunch and their special menus.
Very authentic cuisine!! The bow tie sausage with Vodka sauce is exceptional. The meatballs were a great blend of protein and spice and are a must have. Well done!!
Our waitress Ruth was so sweet. Everyone enjoyed their food! Our group had a variety of items: shrimp bisque, spring mix salad, Italian club, breakfast panini, cannelloni and chicken Marsala. We were all happy we stopped in at Amerigo’s for lunch.
We went with our Jehovah's witness study group. We had the meatball smash burger. It had authentic Italian seasonings and was a real smashburger. The taste was amazing.
My husband and I visited here for the first time for our anniversary. Our server Mason was incredibly friendly and helpful with our decision for our entrees. The food was phenomenal and I don’t say that lightly. As someone with a gluten sensitivity and growing up in an Italian household, even the gluten free dish was very impressive! It’s not often I find gluten free options that taste anything more than mediocre. Well done, Amerigo. We will definitely be returning. Thank you!
My husband and I were in town visiting my sister. My sister brought us here and the food was so good!! I had the fettuccine Alfredo with a salad combo and it did not disappoint!! Next time we come back to visit, this will definitely be a place we will come back to!
Such a wonderful experience! From the appetizer & drinks and then to dinner ...PERFECTION! You must try the artichoke dip, the prime ribeye, the tortellini with crab, and their Old Fashioned. Hands down, delectable! Chef's kiss 💋
Delicious Gluten-Free options. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Had a good time in a safe environment to eat with celiac disease. Definitely will return. Pastas, salad, flatbread and dessert. So good!!
It can get pricey. So, definitely be prepared for that part. However, the food is delicious. What i ordered from the apps to the main dish had a lot of delicious flavor and just the right seasoning. They have vegetarian options on the menu as well. The appetizers are huge. They are really good as well. The ambiance and the service had me thinking I was somewhere on vacation. I would definitely recommend it for a date night. Oh, and if you love large portions of everything, even down to the desserts? This is definitely the place to go as well.
Came to Amerigo for the first time in Huntsville, it was good better than Nashville experience. We were offered bread and oil which was hot, fresh and delicious. We ordered the Calamari which was really good. I had the chicken margarita it was delicious and flavorful my husband and daughter got the Fettuccine Imperial they liked it. We would definitely go back.
This was our first trip to Amerigo, a new Italian restaurant in Huntsville. It is related to Char Restaurant, another quality restaurant located here. Amerigo was very good. The service was outstanding. The teamwork of people working together was impressive. No one hesitated to take away dishes, deliver an order as soon as it was ready or bring more iced tea to the table. Our server, Chris, did an excellent job but with everyone working together as they did, everything went very smoothly. There is a luncheon menu with different specials each day. My dining companion planned on having a vegetarian lasagna which was the daily special. We were having a lunch at 1 PM or so and it was already sold out so it was a popular dish. The luncheon specials are less expensive and smaller servings—both qualities we appreciate at lunch. I had spaghetti and a meatball accompanied by a house salad (choice of Caesar salad or mixed greens). There was one huge meatball on top of the pasta (see photo). The sauce was delicious, the meatball was flavorful and the pasta was cooked perfectly. It was a smaller portion so I left full without being comfortable which can happen with a large platter of spaghetti. My dining companion opted for the veal picatta. It was very good. It seemed salty but there were a lot of capers on it and they are a salty addition. The bread was very fresh and included olive oil with a smattering of peppers which provide a good flavor. We usually pass on dessert. On this instance, we decided to split the Tiramisu. lt had good flavor and more than enough for two people to split. I am more used to the dish being very moist with a rum flavor. In this instance, there was a cake and included Kahlua and chocolate. It was very tasty. The cake was a little dry and probably would have benefitted from more moisture from rum or the Kahlua. There is an extensive wine list and there is a very good selection of wines by the glass or by the bottle. The atmosphere is relaxing and pleasant. The prices are reasonable and the food is excellent. Amerigo is definitely worth a visit for those with a craving for Italian dishes!
The food here is all good, just not quite 5 stars... Definitely a tier above Olive Garden and it's certainly "fine" Italian Dining for the area, but most stuff feels like very good cookbook recipes, neither homemade nor local chef inspired. What you'd learn to make well in year two of culinary college. Service was prompt and professional, but the staff seemed a little busy and stressed. We were a larger party if 10, but just felt a little formulaic and not personal and at ease. Atmosphere... Felt corporate and modern.
Great gluten free and dairy free options. Our waitress, Christi, was very helpful in making sure our meal was prepared safely. There was even gluten free bread available for the table. I got the gluten free pepperoni pizza, which wasn’t anything crazy but the gluten free crust was delicious. We had an overall good experience.
Our waiter was great very attentive, nice clean atmosphere, food was ok for me. I ordered lasagna I didn't really care for the taste of sauce. My daughter enjoyed her tortellini. My other daughter enjoyed her Shimp Alfredo . You do get large portions.
I thought the food was decent. We had calamari, Caesar salad, shrimp scampi, and the veal. Calamari was relatively Bland, but the sauces were pretty good. Caesar salad was as to be expected which was pretty good. The shrimp scampi was Bland, and the wife didn't finish her meal. The veal was more like a chicken cordon bleu, and was well done. Veal should be cooked no higher than medium as it becomes tough and rubbery. The Ambiance was great the service was impeccable. They did offer a dessert to replace the meal or ask her if she wanted a replacement so like I said the service was great.
The food is exceptionally delicious. Especially the succotash base for the scallops. Good local beer selection and a full bar. The atmosphere is ok, very crowded eating areas. My personal opinion is they crammed too many tables in the restaurant. Service was very friendly, unfortunately, it is very rushed and it made the experience unpleasant.
My husband and I went there for dinner with reservations on a Saturday night. The ambiance is casual and they have a bar with Tv’s to watch the game. We were seated right away and our server was very friendly. Food was prompt, we were in and out in 1hr which is pretty good for a 6pm Saturday night. The complementary bread with oil was good, soft, thick, and airy. We ordered a Caesar salad and bruschetta for an appetizer. The Salad and bruschetta was fresh. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the bread for the bruschetta, the same used for the bread and oil dip. I like my bruschetta on a thinner crispy baguette but the flavor was good. My husband ordered the chicken pesto pizza but he didn’t love the flavor combo with artichokes. I ordered the fish of the day which was a pan seared halibut with a mushroom spinach risotto. The halibut had the perfect sear and the risotto was creamy. If you’re mostly plant based there aren’t many options. Overall, we weren’t impressed with the food but if Italian and meat is your thing, there are many options. (Clearly I need to work on my camera eating first lol)
Three stars because the staff and environment were excellent. However, I have made more flavorful Italian food at home. Chicken was bland, pasta was overcooked. Tasted like there was no seasoning, just thick and overwhelming sauce. Not worth the price for that quality.
Ordered the Burrata Pasta for take-out this evening and am very disappointed. I like r d pepper and garlic but this dish is way over-spiced and I cannot eat it. My lips are burning from the garlic/red pepper combo. I love burrata and was looking forward to the creamy cheese. Nope; it's a plastic- like blob. Plus, it's a very small portion. Service: I entered the restaurant which was pretty empty and asked the two people at the host station for a pickup they waved at the bar and said they'd have it. I asked the bartender for my order and she said, sure, in a minute. She continued loading the glass washer for several minutes, then filled a wine order, and after waiting more than 5 minutes (doesn't sound like long but my order was ready ten minutes before I arrived) I was handed my order. Very disappointed.
This was our first time at the Huntsville location and the food was absolutely fabulous! Our server was very attentive and her name was Aaliyha. She was one of the reasons why this place’s deserves a 5 star review. She also had a great since of humor and hospitality. I ordered the lasagna and it was very delicious. Crispy on the ends, with a sweet and savory flavor. It’s nice to see Huntsville getting more Italian restaurants. Update: My most recent experience was horrible…
After a long time of wanting to visit, I finally did so. The outcome was not the very best and I'm very displeased with management and how they let their employees treat people. My daughter has tourettes and sometimes can be a handful, but can not help it. My server who we had by the name of Rhiannon laughed and kept staring typing on her phone as we ate our meal, very unprofessional and very disheartening. I'm not confrontational at all so we got up and left and I refuse to go back somewhere who allows someone to belittle and treat someone with a diagnosis this way. I have called the store on several occasions to report this incident and nobody will talk to me. They say they will call back or don't answer the phone. I will never EVER recommend an establishment like this one to any of my friends or family.
Well I’ve been wanting to go here for along time. Finally was in that area and decided to stop have lunch. Service was sub par, waitress was just unfriendly. Now the food is absolutely terrible. The Caesar was wilted and old. The pasta was not edible. My husband and I did not even eat it. You would think the waitress would say is everything okay. But what do you expect when the food come out so fast,. Chef by ardee!
Amerigo’s is one of our company’s favorite locations because it’s close to our offices, and our executives always appreciate the atmosphere and service. Unfortunately, this particular visit was not pleasant. When we arrived, everything seemed fine. However, at some point the experience changed. We don’t recall being rude or disrespectful to our server, but throughout the service we noticed that she slid plates across the table rather than placing them down, and she did not say “excuse me” or “pardon me” when reaching across guests. When it was time for the checks, a few were incorrect something we understand can happen. However, the server pointed her finger at our manager and said she had an item on her receipt. Our manager was offended and quickly clarified that the item belonged to someone else at the table. The server corrected it but never apologized. Although we were celebrating one of our employees and enjoyed our time together, the service itself was disappointing.
