Amazing buffet, it is literally all you can eat!! I loved every second of being there, the sauces were delicate and profound while the dessert fresh and worth it. Will definitely be back next time I visit Hamburg!

This restaurant gave me almost all I want from an all you can eat dinner (I was there at the evening). The sushi (I ate the veggie one) was very delicious, just not the cucumber sushi (tasted too sticky). The noodles were in good quality as well. But the HIGHLIGHT was the vegetables in a sauce of your taste! These tasted like heaven! I am a critical judge when it comes to ratings. I'd give this restaurant a 4.6* rating. And that's enormous.

The lunch buffet was great! Good quality sushi and rolls and other great asian food selections such as fried noodles and fried rice, there's also enough options for dessert to choose from for a very fair price. I will come back here for sure.

Very friendly staff. The menu has English translation but not for headings, they were patient with explaining what everything meant to a non-german speaker. And unlike other cash-only asian restaurants in the area, they accept apple pay (or credit cards). Thank you 🙏 This means a lot to a frequent traveller. I ordered the kung pao chicken and loved it, but if you have an appetite for raw fish there is a buffet with sushi options and a wok too.

It’s one of the best! Everything taste good, very logical prices , sushi is amazing and the people very helpful and nice! Even if you don’t make a reservation they found you a place to sit for at least two hours! I go at least 2-3 times a month and I can surely suggest it!

One of... if possibly the best Chinese restaurant in Hamburg. A great selection of vegetarian and fish sushi, the Mongolian wok option is also great. A wide selection of vegetables to choose from, also a great selection of fish and meat as well, all cooked up in a sauce of your choosing. There is also a small dim sum offering next to your traditional noodles, spring rolls, calamari rings and wontons. Dessert is covered as well with the typical ice cream, child tiramisu, fried bananas and yoghurt. During each one of my visits there have found the staff to be helpful and polite. At the end of the day, it's a buffet. The serving staff don't need to interact with you that much. However plates are cleared promptly as well throughout. For the dinner buffet for around €17 you really can't complain. Drinks are slightly expensive but as expected really. Not overpriced. Well worth a visit if you are here in Hamburg.

I visit this place every time I am in Hamburg. Fresh and tasty all you can eat sushi, and you can select row seafood and vegetable ingredients for a main dish. Pleasant customer service and reasonable prices. Delicious!

So it was my first time here. i love Sushi A lot. and i must say, the buffet is everything. (please eat all your sushi, and dont waste food) the flavours are very good. the service is fast. You take a plate, go to the buffet line and take your veggies and you use a clothes-pin, to mark your order. after that you give your plate to the chefs at the window and they cook it for you. The service was very good and i enjoyed the food quite a lot. ALL YOU CAN EAT SUSHI?!?! BRO - YES!!!!!!!! i would gladly go back there.

We have been going to Mr. Cherng for a few years now, because the buffet is always varied but with the expected crowd favourite sushi and curries. The staff are extremely friendly and the food is tasty, healthy and not pricey. Highly recommended!

Great value for money. We had the dinner buffet and I was so famished that I had three feelings of dessert. The food was tasty and cooked with care, not something you experience often in a buffet. The staff was helpful too, there was this one waitress who was patient and caring, explaining things in detail since we didn't speak German.

My brother and I wanted Chinese food but had some concerns about communicating that my brother has serious allergies to peanuts and tree nuts (we only know English). The hostess not only stepped us through each buffet item with allergens, but also helped us translate our concerns to the other staff. She did an excellent job! Everyone was incredibly accommodating, polite, and went above and beyond with answering our questions. The food was a tad expensive (~17 euro for buffet dinner excluding drinks) but was delicious and high quality. I definitely recommend stopping here!

The buffet here is amazing. As a lover of Asian food, but also being very picky, it is great being able to pick all of the individual ingredients for my wok and then have it freshly prepared. Having kangaroo meat as an option is also an added bonus. The service is very friendly and efficient.

Let's start with the worst point of this restaurant. Nothing. Everything else was perfect, but the sushi is not be the main attraction for this restaurant.(the sushi was average and cold) The interior, service, and the other food were excellent, I can't believe this place was on this price range. No exaggeration that this place could be the best all you can eat in germany.

Very nice restaurant. I was there only for evening's buffet and it was always great. Food is fresh and very tasty, the only disadvantage is lack of fruits sometimes. Staff is really polite and friendly, always ready to help. I returned there several times and know for sure that will return again and again.

AMAZING!!! I am giving 5 stars because there is no option for 10. This is my favorite restaurant! Eating the sushi there showed me I haven't eating proper sushi before. And it is not just the sushi. Everything you see on the buffet, the sweets included is just amazing!! I always leave 2kg heavier. Staff is also great and polite. DEFINITELY recommending it to everyone!

Me encanta El pato crujiente en este lugar. Hay veces que está en el buffet pero si no está lo pido como plato a la carta. Todos los meseros son muy amables, sin importar que tan lleno este encuentran un segundo para ti. Se llena bastante y a veces hay fila pero el lugar es grande así que siempre hay movimiento. La comida es fresca, siempre esta llena y aunque parece pequeño el buffet, es suficiente. El buffet del medio día de lunes a viernes es de 15 (tambien incluye helado aqui) y el del fin de semana es 25 (fuera de bebidas). También tienen platos a la carta con un valor más bajo al medio dia si es que no quieres buffet. Hay un recargo si dejas comida en El plato, para que la gente no desperdicie comida. El lugar es muy céntrico, a 2 cuadras del Europa Passage, a 1 cuadra de la iglesia, en todo el centro. Se paga en la caja. Me parece bastante práctico si quieres comer muy bien en el centro, totalmente recomendado.

Since a lot of years, Mr. Cherng is a good place to have lunch. Buffet and a drink will cost you around 15€. Sushi tastes really interesting sometimes. I would say it is their own approach to do sushi. The rest of the buffet is typical Chinese-German cuisine, nothing to compare against real Chinese food. The atmosphere can be really loud and crowded during lunch time.

It's a Japanese mix Chinese restaurant. I had their dinner *eat all you can* buffet, was very good. Varieties of sushi, some dim sum, fresh fish / meat / mussels (to be cooked to your choice of cooking / sauce), sweet delicacies and ice cream. Advisable to make a reservation during weekends, it can be quite crowded even on weekdays!

Very very good, I actually loved the food, it was soo good, but I think 25€ for "all you can eat" was a little much, but it was really good, the service was also good and very friendly, the space was pretty, I went there with my friends and they also loved it. I ate like a lot, and yeah I recommend it.

Decent Asian buffet. The option to pick your food and have them cook it per order is a nice plus. Good selection, "not bad" sushi for a buffet, and great price. Friendly staff. Unfortunately there's not enough space for a wheelchair between the tables and no wheelchair accessible bathroom (stairs)

We go there since ages, I could say, we are patrons. The place is beautiful and the all you can eat offer is made to give an impression of the "taste of Asia", as would someone says that has ever visited a country in that part of the world 😉. Summing up, you can bring all your friends because they will find something suitable for them.

Definitely a good choice to go for an all you can eat buffet! Variety of sushi and option to make you own dish with a cook that will make it in the spot. I don't know what was the reason, but the soy sauce that was on my table was terrible. Definitely ruined the taste for the first few.

I came here three times in the Sun of a week and a half. Overall by the end of it I was feeling pretty sick and tired of this place. However the food is great if you call there once in a month. I went to the lunch buffet twice and to the dinner buffet once. Despite being more expensive the dinner buffet has a lot more variety. I celebrated my birthday here with the lunch buffet and invited my friends. We all enjoyed the food and the experience. We made a reservation and came slightly late but the place was still booked under our name thankfully. We are very grateful. Thank you Mr. Cherng for providing this great experience for my birthday.

Small kids (under 6 years old) should be allowed to drink from their own bottles, not just babies, like in all the other restaurants that want to be family-friendly

The wan tan soup was bland, but the fried tofu (with peanut sauce) was very nice. Quick and friendly service. The place was busy on Saturday, so it was very loud.

Sushi was very good and so is the rest of the food. Lots of meat and seafood to choose from which they cook for you. We always had good service there. Dinner buffet cost 17 euros, worth it for me and will definitely come back again.

Quite good for a €10 all you can eat lunch buffet. Sushi was good quality and the other buffet options were good, particularly the beef and peppers in black bean sauce. Some of the sushi goes quickly as people take dozens of pieces at a time. But they refill regularly.

I went at lunch time for their all you can eat and its super fast and staff is ready to assist. Sometimes a line does build up but overall its pretty fast.

Today was the first time that I have been at Mr. Cherng after the refurbishment, for sure it is nicer and cosier than before, well done. I came for the buffet and mainly for the cold food, what was good, unfortunately the sushis were a little bit dry, I guess it is difficult to make it fresh all the time. I also had a little from the warm food, that was very tasty and had a good variety, I only found it a little cold today. The staff is for sure 5 stars, everybody is always helpful and friendly. I will be back soon!!

Really love the food here. All you can buffet is really worthy for trying. They have variety of collections. Vegetarian, non vegetarian both available. Items could have been definitely more but what you wanna eat you will find there. Highlighted part is there sushi collections. I have never seen this much sushi for all you can eat buffet before. And sushi is darn delicious. If you are a sushi lover its a must go. If you love all you can eat this is for you. Location is very prime. Just near Rathaus. Very friendly employees. I visit them very often.

An average Chinese buffet is available for lunch time. The quality & service is so so, but quite visited.

The ayce has a pretty limited selection, ok quality. The sesame icecream has black sesame seeds mixed in and is good. Didn't find it worth the weekend/dinner price.

The food is somehow good, the side dish was really good, but the man in the front that recieved the raw food to be cooked by the Chef.. you need to train that one person how to politely interact with customers.. on the same day, he was one who taking our additional drink order and yes, he need to fix his attitude..

I was there for all-you-can-eat lunch. The quality is fair for 10.90 Euros. Sushi was ok, wok station was better. You'd compensate the quality with quantity. It was not overcrowded, I waited for 2-3 minutes at peak time in the buffet. Good place for lunch.

I love coming here because of the buffet but I feel like they need another sushi chef. This is the only place in Hamburg where the sushi somehow tastes funny. I don't know exactly what it is, but I feel like the rice is too sweet, it just doesn't taste right. It's been tasting the same for many years now and every time I hope it's gotten better, but it hasn't. I'm not fuzzy about food and always enjoy sushi, except for here. I still end up coming back somehow because with multiple people there's always something for everyone.

So this is a cheap Asian buffet, so don't expect amazing food. Had lunch here on Monday. It has limited sushi options, with a variety of stir fried and deep fried options. paid around €15. It was ok, but that was about it. Nothing to rave about.

Average china Buffet. Not that much varieties of food in evening buffet but evening buffet has live cooking which is very tasty and tasty sushies and the best Wonton I have ever eaten in Germany. Also it is close to Hauptbahnhof/Central Train Station. There is better Asian Buffet in Hamburg and my favourite is the Buffet of China Restaurant Phönix near Bahrenfeld S bahn.

Hamburg is really crowded with tourists and going to this restaurant I was expecting that some of the staff spoke English but that's not a problem, I used google translate to communicate with some staff. As soon as our waiter knew that we didn't speak much german, he was rude and ignored us. Overall the food was nice , except the squid , it had funny smell when raw and even when was cooked so we sent it back, my friend even told the waiter that the squid shouldn't smell like that we could poison some customers. The lady(that took our payment) in the front desk was polite and spoke English.

The food is very basic and nothing special, it was really difficult to get anything good since the moment it would be refill a bunch of people would just fill up their plates with it. I can only recommend it if you don’t come at peak hours when it’s full, otherwise it’s a somewhat bad experience

Didn’t like it at all. Sushis tasted more like a mashed rice mixed with strange sauces. Approx. waited 10-15 mins (which can be tolerated) but sitting places were so narrow. Service was quite fast although we waited for another 10 min. Noodles, chicken and desserts were quite tasty. But if you want to eat sushi, I cannot recommend it honestly.

I might have been unlucky but the sushi tasted absolutely horrible. I never had sushi this bad. The only good thing was the wok station. That actually tasted delicious. The desert wasn't really tasty either. If you eat there just limit yourself to the wok station.

If you actually go for sushi, don't go, go away fast. We were very disappointed with the food quality. For 25 euros/ pers (evening price), we were expecting way more. Here is the list : - The soy was spoiled. The waitress kindly exchanged bottles but they were all like that and it didn't shock anyone. - What they call miso soup is what I call leftover soup. And it had a syrup-like consistency. It is an attack on Japan ( see photo) . - The supposed salmon was not salmon. It didn't taste like it. - Asian deserts were not good : the red bean dumpling tasted like it had mold. The sesame balls were almost empty. That was funny though. - Cherry on the cake : there were some flies on the unprotected industrial tiramisu. Conclusion : If you know or wish to discover Asian food , please don't go and save your money however if you go you might have a good laugh about it

So after going to this restaurant, I am confused about all the positive reviews this restaurant has gathered. By far the worst sushi joint I have been to in any country. The flavors are bland, the selection is a failed attempt at a good sushi, nigori, maki. And this is probably the only sushi joint I have been to that doesn't have any sashimi. The upside, the atmosphere is nice and the servers don't bother you at all. I had ordered a hot sake when I first sat down and never again did a server bother me regarding drinks. And I suppose it's all for good reasons. Because of this lack of service I headed over to Einstein's cocktail bar down the street and their service and quality of drinks was phenomenal!!

Been here a couple of times now, but last week was the last one I will go to this place. Tood a damn stomach infection, had to buy pills, as 3 days in and still not getting better. What do you guys even do with that food and where do you even get it? Put a little more effort in it damn it.

Tried the buffet, the fake sushi tastes like dessert, too much sugar in them. I put the sushi away because they are too sweet, the servitor came yelling at me and asked me to pay for them. The coconut cooked samon fish tastes like the fish have been cooked ages, unbelievable hard! The servitors are not friendly, some of them have their faces stoned. Had a very unpleasant experience!

Honestly don’t know where these good reviews are coming from. The buffet was closed due to corona, which is no problem but the rules of how to order were explained extremely poorly. Wasn’t a good start. The first noodle dish came and for the first time in my life I’ve sent something back because it just tasted absolutely gross and it even smelled from a distance. We told the waiter, he smelt it and took it away without saying a word. The sushi was very sweet sugary like tasting, which isn’t the best for sushi and the salmon did not taste fresh. The simple avocado maki ones were alright. The wok station would’ve been good as you can choose your own meats and veggies, but they put so much salt over the meat, it was barely eatable. Wouldn’t go again and I’m also 99% these reviews are fake.

One Star, i was today there... No thing is fresh in Buffet ... the meat is to old and blue color! The vegetables too and the fruits. No sauce at all not for sushi and not for Ice cream! Sushi is not testy at all, i don't know what they but inside it! I will never go there again....

Visited this restaurant today after being convinced by its high rating on Google Review. Unfortunately, it didn't turn out as we expected. We've been to a lot of buffet restaurants in Germany and in Europe and taste-wise, I'd like to say that this is the worst one. The dominant flavour of the sushi was sweet (very sweet to my liking), obviously because they put too much sugar in. It also didn't taste fresh, at all. The positive side is that they serve a wide variety of sushi. If you don't like the fusion ones (for example they have sushi with coconut on top, or the fried ones with only-God-knows-what inside), you can go with the basic ones. They would charge you €0.50 per piece of sushi that you can't finish, so I'd say, take a few and try it before you go crazy. The warm dish was, to put it simply, flavourless. We've tried almost every dish, and we'd recommend only sweet & sour pork, fried salmon and fried noodles. No, no, not because they tasted THAT good, but because they were just slightly better than the other dishes. I had to put chilli sauce and soy sauce to help me finish my plate. Location wise, it's very near to the city centre. Jungfernsteig is only within a walking distance. Perhaps this explains why we got what we got with €10,90. Or... Perhaps today was not our lucky day? :)

Food was ok and the kids loved it. But the female waitress had a really bad attitude and didn't think about being service minded. A bad buffet for people who just don't know any better. There are significantly better asian all-you-can-eat options available in Hamburg, with better food, as well as much more variety. This place offers nothing interesting or particularly well-made. And the sushi here is laughably bad.

The worst treatment I received in Hamburg in the last two years. We hadn't even sat down yet, and I wanted to drink water (my medicines cause severe dehydration) and the waitress said "no drinks from outside" so I put it back in my bag, turned to my friend and said "oh i wish i had drunk my water when we were outside" and the waitress, who was already scowling at us said "well you are in germany now"??? WHAT?? I didn't even say anything?? She kept staring at me with a scowl the whole time we were there, both when i sat and when i went to grab food. I ordered tap water, since i needed it asap, and it was given to me in 30+ minutes. By then i was already not feeling well. Adding the facial expression pointed at me, my night was hell. And I had been so excited to try the place out... The food was just ok considering the price, but no way worth it with the treatment i got, and the physical discomfort i was in. I will never go there again, and i recommend you to do the same. P.S: this was a month ago. I didn't post a review instantly because i wanted to calm down.

Avoid This Place! Terrible Service and Harassment I would give zero stars if I could. We came in as a family of five, and one of my children ordered the "all you can eat" option. While we were all waiting for our main courses to arrive, my son—who was hungry and restless—took one single spring roll from his sister’s plate. What happened next was unbelievable. The waiter rushed over and loudly announced to the entire restaurant that he wasn't allowed to do that. We immediately apologized and explained that he was just a hungry kid sneaking a bite while waiting for his own food. You would think a simple "please don't do that again" would suffice, but the staff decided to turn it into a hostality mission. For the rest of the "meal," we were subjected to: * Constant Surveillance: Every 60 seconds, a different waiter would walk over and stand right next to our table. * The "Gaze": When they weren't hovering over us, the entire staff stood at the bar staring us down. It was incredibly intimidating and made my kids feel extremely uncomfortable. When we finally went to the bar to politely ask them to stop staring at us because it was making our family uneasy, they didn't apologize. Instead, they threw us out. They marched over, snatched all our food away (even the dishes we were still eating), and told us to leave. I have never been treated with such disrespect in my life. Stay away from this place unless you enjoy being watched like a hawk and kicked out for nothing.
