Excellent service from Keni, who made sure our refills were taken care of, and all of our needs were met. She was super friendly and professional! We immediately got our drinks and chips and salsa. The salsa is served warm and it was completely delicious. Could not stop eating it. Keni brought over a stand for my purse and my husband’s hat. My husband couldn’t decide between the mole enchiladas or the striped bass, she recommended the bass which he decided to take her recommendation and he was not sorry. He loved his fish. I did taste it and it was delicious. Good flavor and also juicy. The salad came with orange, artichoke and avocado. Keni was nice and let us try a small amount of the mole - it has a sneaky spice that kind of hits you later rather than with first bite. Delicious complexity but spicy for those unaccustomed to it. Definitely will try the mole enchiladas. I had the hatch chile chicken enchiladas, which were delicious. More of a cream based sauce with good flavor. The cilantro rice was heavy on the cilantro, which I absolutely love and complimented the black beans perfectly. We were so full we didn’t have room for dessert. Maybe next time!

We were looking for Mexican cuisine which is Vegetarian friendly and found this gem who don’t have lard or pork in their beans nor chicken broth in their rice. We ordered vegetarian enchiladas, veggie fajitas, veggie taco (jardin) and we loved every bite of everything. From ambience to service, it’s a true Mexican experience and would highly recommend.

Ruth was my server for the evening and she was very kind! She did a wonderful job with taking orders and made sure that my steak enchiladas were made to order. Even though the restaurant was busy, she kept up with the table very well and made sure everyone got their food and drinks on time! The food was delicious! Especially the cilantro lime rice! My only critique is that the salsa was not very good and could have been better. It had a strange flavor and was stringy. The rest of the food however was cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was wonderful! The lights were dim, making it a cozy place to enjoy your meal. The overall style and décoré of the restaurant was upscale and the music was inviting! I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a nice evening out with their partner, friends, coworkers, or family! Make sure you have a reservation if you’re with a group because they do get busy!

Lunch service is a pretty busy time. if you were to go slightly after 1.30, the crowd should be more bearable. They have a small revamp in menu. there’s no more seafood paella in there but some other similar things to make up for it. Fish tacos were well coated with herbs and spices. Beef torta was hearty and the cheesy corn was a nice side for between bites. The flan is a refreshing twist of flan with a crunchy flat cookie, a mixture of fruits sprinkled with toasted coconut flakes.

Best Mexican food I've ever had. Margarita was tasty and strong. My food was delicious and I cleaned my plate (something I hardly ever do). The ambiance was sexy, vibrant, intimate but spacious, with elegant and eclectic lighting. And the servicer (I wish I remember was name, he works everyday but Thursday, shorter, super handsome, friendly and clean cut) was great!! He had positive vibes, was attentive, helpful, cool, and respectful. Any time I visit Dallas, I will be coming back.

Loved the ambiance and vibe of this Mexican restaurant. The entire staff was prompt and friendly. The menu is affordable and ranges from appetizers, Verdes and sopas, fajitas, tacos, enchiladas, kids menu, desserts and a plethora of alcoholic drinks and delicious beverages. Definitely recommend and can't wait to go back.

Mexican Sugar is the real deal. All the flavors were really delicious. Great atmosphere and awesome staff. Ruben was very attentive and explained many of the dishes since it was our first time. The steak enchiladas were so tender and the chicken Quesadillas Appetizer was a full meal. We will be back to try more!

The name alone for this restaurant, sparked my interest while visiting the area. Mexican Sugar. The inside was very welcoming with a calm and peaceful arrangement of the dining tables and chairs. The decor of wall paintings and the unique placement of plants, whisper...please have a seat. My waiter, Hector, was kind, informative of the menu, and pleasantly polite. I have a peanut allergy, and he made sure to check the ingredients of the menu choice I had requested. That alone, was acutely professional because he went above and beyond to make sure I would enjoy the meal and be okay. I ordered the chicken fajitas with black beans and cilantro rice. It also came with a side of guacamole, pico de gallo and warm tortillas. The hibiscus margarita is who-hoooo delicious, topped with a beautiful flower and the side of my glass was encrusted with hmmmm...Mexican Sugar. My dining experience was wonderful, and I will definitely recommend this restaurant to my family and friends, when I'm once again in the area. 5 stars well earned.

Absolutely love this place! I’ve been here a few times now and never had a bad experience. The food is amazing—everything we’ve tried so far has been really good. The chicken fajitas and roasted enchiladas are a couple of my favorites. The restaurant has a great vibe, and the staff is always super friendly.

If you’re looking for a spot that checks all the boxes, this is it. We started with the queso; rich, creamy, and honestly the best we’ve had. Then came the fajitas combo and two tacos, both cooked to perfection. The salsa was served hot, which was a nice touch. Combine that with a stunning atmosphere and truly attentive service, and you’ve got a place worth coming back to again and again. All this was about $60 which is very decent.

Absolutely loved Mexican Sugar in Las Colinas! Our server Sana made the experience unforgettable — friendly, attentive, and so welcoming. The food was incredible: fresh homemade corn tortillas, flavorful steak, delicious guacamole, and amazing specialty drinks. Beautiful atmosphere and top-notch service. Absolutely loved this place! The atmosphere was amazing with great music playing throughout. The entire restaurant was super clean including the restrooms, which is always a good sign. Our waitress was incredibly kind and attentive. To top it off, she surprised us with complimentary churros for dessert! Definitely coming back again.

I went to Mexican Sugar around lunchtime and had a positive experience. The place wasn’t too crowded, which made it feel comfortable and relaxed. The atmosphere inside is nice and welcoming, making it a good spot to sit down and enjoy a meal without feeling rushed. I ordered the asada tacos and we also tried the tortilla soup. Both were good. What really stood out to me was the service; it was fast, friendly, and attentive the whole time. Overall, it was an enjoyable visit mainly because of the great service and comfortable setting.

Went here for a work dinner with a large group. The food was good, but the service struggled. For 2 of our table it difficult to get water or refills, while those ordering billable drinks were served quickly. Overall decent food, but service could use a bit of an improvement.

Went here for dinner — the ambiance was amazing! The food was good overall; I tried the enchiladas, horchata, and tacos. The green sauce on the enchiladas was especially delicious. The staff was very friendly, though our server seemed a bit indifferent — not rude, just not very warm, no smiles, no wishes, just did her job. Maybe it was a long day for her so completely understandable. Overall, a solid 4/5 experience!

Mexican Sugar has a large bar with a nice selection of tequilas as one might expect. The appetizers we had were all excellent, as were the mains. Try the mussels and any of the Quesadilla. The Striped bass was nicely prepared. The space can be a bit noisy on a busy night.

Mexican Sugar, as our waitress shared, opened during the pandemic and has clearly stood the test of time—and for good reason. If your diet allows and you enjoy pork, the grilled pork chop is a must-try. You only get one life, and that dish is worth it. The cocktails were excellent, with flavor combinations that paired beautifully with their premium tequilas. There isn’t a bad seat in the house—whether you choose bar high-tops, standard dining, or the outdoor patio, which is equipped with heaters for our typically mild Texas winters (though a shawl or light coat is still a good idea for a November evening). It’s elevated, sophisticated Mexican dining without being overly formal—no tuxedo or evening gown required, unless wearing one simply makes your meal taste better! The reason for my four-star review instead of five is the delay in being acknowledged by our server in the main dining area. Our reservation was at 5:45 p.m.—an earlier time since we were heading to a comedy show nearby—and at that point, only three other tables were occupied. One of those, a party of six, appeared to be finishing up. Despite having two staff members working the section, we waited roughly 10–15 minutes before anyone greeted us. ***Reservations encouraged.***

Great food the family loved it for their 1st time going. I brought everyone out for my birthday dinner. The food was amazing and the environment was dark and romantic. The margaritas are good and added jalapenos when I asked. The service was great just was throwing off when the waiter brought the complimentary dessert for the birthdays.
