My wife and I ate here this evening and everything was excellent. The calamari was fresh, not overly battered or oily, my Red Snapper with sweet Thai chili sauce was delicious and my wife’s clam bake was filled with fresh clams, lobster and scallops. There’s plenty of seating inside and during the summer you can eat outside and even dock your boat for a meal.
We frequently dine in or takeout. The food is always fresh and excellently prepared. Highly recommend. Peter's, will not disappoint
Very easy drive to Location with parking time to visit all hours lunch and dinner great choices Service was GOod lots of young workers just little confusing how to order on first visit Very Clean and maintain Menu everything seafood and burger and chicken finger for non seafood eaters in your party Taste was delicious, wasn’t really hunger but still enjoyed the food Recommend for friends family coming off the beach nice seating out door and indoor
Went on a Monday and honestly a weekday would be the best time to go. Little to no wait. Weekends are very busy. I ordered the broiled salmon and it was delicious, tender and the sauce mixes well with the rice and veggies the waiter was very attentative and the drinks were also very good. I recommend a tequila sunrise. Overall I had a great experience. Enjoy
They said reservations had to be at least 2 hours in advance, but walk ins were accepted. We went around 1pm and there was no wait. We got to sit outside and enjoy the view. Food was delicious and service was great. There's a 4% surcharge for credit card, so bring some cash if you wanna save a few bucks. Definitely coming back
Peter’s Clam Bar offers a delightful dining experience by the water, blending charm with incredible seafood. The Seafood Combo was a standout — the scallops were silky and flavorful, and the jumbo shrimp were cooked to perfection, juicy and full of taste. It’s the kind of place that turns a simple meal into a memorable experience. A true gem for anyone who loves fresh, quality seafood.
The food is always good. You can dine indoors/outdoors and parking! A fav place during the summer months. Enjoyed my Valentine's Day with some cool vibes, great staff, & excellent food. Never had the steak before (and I've been here several times) and I must say Kudos to the chef. Both the skirt steak & filet mignon were great! Yummy every bite.
Simply put, if you love seafood then this amazing locale is a must. The oysters are the freshest I've had in a very long time. The Little Necks were also incredible. All the seafood here is wild caught and simply delicious. Our server Veronica was excellent and helped ensure our return. I assure that you will have a fabulous experience and will keep coming back.
Was a wonderful evening we sat outside with a great view. Good music was playing. Enjoyed a very tasty meal and had a few adult drinks that were delicious.
Delicious seafood on the water? Count me in. It's not quite as good as places I've been to in OBX, but is that really a fair comparison in the first place? The baked clams are delicious and perfectly serviceable as an entree rather than an appetizer. I ended up getting the Louisiana po' boy as well, which was good but a little bit heavy on the dressing that comes on the cucumber salad. Maybe ask for that on the side so you can top it yourself. A friend's friend got the lobster bisque and raved about it, so I'll be sure to try that when I visit next.
Lobster mac n cheese is a must! I believe it’s only claw meat that is used in it and the mac n cheese itself is delicious too. Also got the Seafood Fra Diavolo without clams or mussels, which had lobster in it too but the lobster, shrimp, and linguine were overcooked to death. The scallops in it were fresh and delicious though! I think next time, I would just stick with ordering scallops (fried or broiled). New England clam chowder was alright. I’ve had better in MA, but it’s tough competition. The waitress said there was bacon in it, but I couldn’t really taste it. There’s also a second entrance that seems to lean more toward self-service. Would probably go to that one next time for a quicker turn-around. 5 stars for food because 1 word: lobstermacncheese. 5 stars for service because the waitress was adorable. 3 stars for atmosphere because it’s just a family spot. It’s clean and air conditioned, but there’s really nothing special about it.
Peter’s Clam Bar, what can you say that is not being said already ? Great food made from scratch , nixes vies that match the seafood meals . you’ll have a chance to enjoy the freshest seafood and a their personnel will help you to get a warm and welcoming dining experience! Lot of room inside , an open area beside the road and bid parking area . On your way back from a day at the beach in Long Beach, or to have a bite just because , recommended anytime
The service was exceptional. The young lady at the concierge desk basically took me to the bar section that had no wait to show me available seating instead of waiting for a reserved seat to open in the restaurant.let me tell you the food was amazing !!!!!!! I had lobster bisque and seafood combo, It was perfect! The sangria is the best I’ve had in years. Not to mention the lobster roll. My brother had the Paella and my sister in law had the clams. My Neice had so much chicken fingers and fries she fell asleep afterwards. We had tons of food left we took home 4 carry out containers and another order of paella for tomorrow. We’re all coming back soon!!! It was amazing.
Fried scallops, baked clams and salmon. Salmon was perfectly cooked and one side having a little crispness which is delicious. When in season the soft shell crabs are a must have dipped in cocktail sauce and I'm happy. The grilled shrimp scampi with the same sauce on the rice is finger licking good. Baked clams and New England Clam Chowder. Will satisfy your clam craving. Nice seating inside and outside on a deck with views on the bay. The music on the outside deck in summer is a great time to spend with friends.
Had dinner here a few times over the years. I love the calamari, baked clams, and lobster mac and cheese. My waitress Nerissa was amazing. She was super kind and attentive. Thanks for a wonderful dinner. In the photos we had the lobster grilled cheese sandwich and the fried seafood plater.
We had a family get together for about 50 people at the last minute. The staff at Peter's were awesome. The food was delicious as always. They were able to accommodate us on short notice and it will never be forgotten.
My first time here, I was def more than satisfied. Friendly staff, good service, tasty food and such a picturesque view! It sits in a bay and has unobstructed views of a huge field of green as a back drop! The lobster bisque was tasty, oysters were fresh and the paella was delicious. Prices were about average for seafood. I went there for lunch with a group of 5 and we were seated right away, as it was not overly crowded. Pictured below are the following: baked clams, raw oysters, mussels scampi, different cocktails, lobster roll, and the paella!
Elite. Really fresh and well prepared seafood along the water. The clams half shell is one of my favorite dishes anywhere. Classic and still doing it right.
This is a great place, with good food, ready and helpful wait staff. The whole menu is interesting and our lobs rolls, surf and turf and fried calamari were excellent. The only drawback is the lack of rest rooms (only 4, 2 for men, 2 for women) which at a busy time leads to some long waits. That being said the rest rooms are immaculate. All in all this is a fine restaurant. Go you will not be disappointed!
First time at peters clam bar, I would definitely return in the future. Had the calamari as an appetizer and it was good, tasted fresh and very crispy! To drink we got a pitcher of sangria which was soo good and only $30 ( a lot for two people but we drank it all lol) I would return for the sangria alone For my meal I had the lobster grilled cheese, it was good but a bit salty random bites? Not sure if I had a weird batch but overall really good My bf has the fisherman’s platter which he said was good , just a lot of fried food to eat at one time- Edit: so I returned to Peters clam bar and did outside seating which was lovely. I had the lobster roll and it was delicious, highly recommend.
I do see mixed reviews for this place but since this is my first time eating here I must say the food was amazing ! After a walk on the boardwalk we decided to eat lunch here where we had the Lobster Mac n Cheese, Crab Cake Sandwich, Calamari & New England Clam Chowder. Across the board delicious & nice size portions. The mac n cheese was by far my favorite especially after we had asked for it to be reheated since it was sitting out n did get cold, tasted even better !! Our waiter Christian (hope this is his name) was so attentive, checked on us several times to be sure we were enjoying our food. What a wonderful personality he had, such a pleasure !! Had an outdoor seat which added to such a fabulous lunch with a view of the Marina. Definetley will be back !
For years we passed by this place. So glad we decided to stop in today. I had THE juiciest Salmon over salad, lite vinaigrette, onions, cucumber, chic pea. We also had lobster Tacos and they were plated so delicately and super fresh and tasty. The sangria with fresh fruit was refreshing 😋 I'd like to give 10 stars to this restaurant and 12 stars to our awesome waitress Amanda for being super kind and friendly. We had a small orea cream cake brought to my daughter for her birthday celebration, this tied it all together ❤ and the dessert was as great and tasty as the dinner. Win Win at Peter's.
Been going to petes clam bar for years, and it never disappoints. Lobsters cooked to perfection, staff is always pleasant. Honestly, saddens me to see a negative review from others. Especially pertaining to price of items (when you can easily find any resturants menu online) or service fee (convience fee... if you don't want to use or carry cash, that's your own damn fault). Especially coming from someone who gives Outback 4stars 🙄
Outstanding Seafood and Exceptional Atmosphere! I recently dined at Peter Clam Bar, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. The moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm smile and the inviting aroma of fresh seafood. The atmosphere was relaxed yet elegant — the kind of place where you can enjoy a great meal with friends or have a quiet dinner by the water. Every dish was a standout. The clam chowder was rich and flavorful, packed with fresh clams and perfectly balanced seasoning. The grilled lobster tail was tender and buttery, cooked to perfection. I also tried the seafood platter, and every bite — from the shrimp to the scallops — tasted incredibly fresh and expertly prepared. The service was top-notch, with the staff being friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about what they do. It’s rare to find a restaurant that gets everything right — food, service, and atmosphere — but Peter Clam Bar truly delivers on all fronts. If you love seafood, this place is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back again soon!
We live in Long Beach and rediscovered Peters Clam Bar a few weeks ago and have since been back three times. The food is outstanding; the service is always excellent and the atmosphere both inside and outside conducive to a great experience. The portions are large enough to take some home for the next day's meal. We will continue to frequent this great restaurant and introduce friends who have not been here before.
Had a chance to finally get to this place after passing it for many years and I regret passing it so many times and not experiencing how amazing this place is! The atmosphere is outstanding right on the water and when you sit outside it’s very nice and relaxing inside was gorgeous as well! Then the food and drinks were outstanding! The calamari was cooked perfectly and flavor filled and not greasy and my first time having swordfish and it was amazing! Definitely will be coming back here this is a must try spot!
I’ve taken my family here for dinner, time and time again, we’ve ordered just about everything on the menu, and have yet to find something we didn’t like. The lobster Mac & cheese is amazing !!! And the crab cake platter is highly recommended. Fresh sea food cooked properly & perfectly seasoned . Just open the menu & point you really can't go wrong !!!
Service is phenomenal. Gene took care of us yesterday (Valentine’s Day). We didn’t have to wait for anything. She was on top of it. Very kind staff. The workers made sure our table was free of any dirty dishes almost immediately as they were put to the side. My children got clam chowder. I snuck a taste, and it was a very nice New England taste. The lobster tails were cooked to perfection. The lobster roll was even more delicious, and we took that Togo. My s/o had the paella and said the half lobster was extremely tender. Drinks were made with lots of love. To end it all we took red velvet cake Togo. It ended up being my favorite thing. I highly recommend saving room for desert. Overall wonderful experience and would recommend it.
This establishment is genuinely deserving of praise! I arrived at the establishment just as it was beginning to open. It was impeccably clean, well-organized, and impeccably maintained. The food was exceptionally delicious, exceptionally fresh, and hot. The view and seating area was right on the water, where you could observe beautiful wildlife and bring your boat. It truly is a true gem!
Love the ambience here. I always sit outside by the water. The service is excellent.. Went for lunch on Sunday. We were seated right away. They have plenty of seats inside as well as outside. The food was amazing. We ordered oysters (they were good), clam chowder (nice smoky flavor but not thick, good), lobster mac n cheese (delicious ), lobster cheesy bread (amazing) burger and fries (delicious), and the lobster salad with shrimp and scallops (the best ever), crab pot ( delicious). I have been here several times over the years and it remains amazing and delicious. I cannot wait to go back.
My wife has been asking for seafood and we decided to check this place out! I’m happy we did; she was so happy and satisfied with the food portions and customer service. Place was spacious and had amazing views. The kids enjoyed themselves by looking at the water and just enjoyed the outdoor seating. Price wasn’t that bad for what we had that big especially for seafood here in NY, we’ve always preferred seafood other places but here but today we had a great experience and we’d suggest people to try and check this place out!
Not a single complaint about my experience here. The food was delicious, service was speedy and pleasant, and the ambiance was a 10/10. Highly recommend!!

Great service, very attentive and pleasant , very good food, will return.\nOne small complaint: little too bright lighting.

The food is always fresh and delishes. Eating outside is always great, weather permitting. Indoor eating is also wonderful because you have water views.

We try to visit Peter's Clam Bar every once in a while. We always enjoy our meals here and have a good time. The staff are always friendly and inviting. And the food is always fresh and delicious. No complaints here at all.
I’ve been going to Peter’s Clam bar for over 35 years. The the food is as good as it always has been. Keep returning every year at least once a summer 🍤 8/22/20 Made my yearly return. Look what I had. $24 $$$ but I enjoyed it. No horseradish around as in the past maybe because of the corona virus.
This is a down to earth place with wonderful food and drinks. In this Covid-19 world dining with friends is difficult to say the least. There were 5 of us and we had to wear facemasks until we got to the table, it seemed like table density had been decreased as well. Once we sat we could remove the masks, no menus, you scan a QT code and pull it up on your phone. We all wanted apps, I was the shrimp cocktail, they also got clams, fried calamari and to drink red sangria. It was a decent meal, the food was tasty and not too expensive. I would return here or anywhere as long as its with friends.
If you're a drinker you will not like the drinks. Smallest cups ever filled with ice. They have fishbowls but with Malibu and I don't even remember the other option. The food was great. The waiter we had was slow and we actually had another waiter helping us on our waiters behalf. That was a good feeling because she didn't have to help us but did her part. Overall, atmosphere is nice and food also. Staff wear gloves and masks 😷
My partner and I came here for a quick lunch on a Saturday around 11:15am. We sat outside and ordered a Cesar salad, clam chowder and linguine with clams. Portions were very generous and I had some left overs. Food was good but the atmosphere/ambiance was very nice. Our server Ella was very attentive and nice. Staff overall was great. Would highly recommend this place and plan to visit again.
Really good food and service for excellent prices! The ordering area is a little strange having multiple counters. 1 for the grill and drinks and 1 for the seafood. Pleanty of oarking which was nice. Had to ask for cutlery a couple of times, for some strange reason they only gave for 1 with 2 if us sitting there. Overall a good spot, if you're in the mood for seafood on the water it's hard to go wrong. I'm glad we stopped on our way back to the city.
We came here by boat to celebrate a friend's birthday. We were going to sit outside but it was too windy & cold. Sitting inside was even colder than outside. I kept asking to turn off the A/C but nobody did anything about my request. Thankfully the food was very good. I ordered the seafood paella. I recommend this place. Just wear a winter coat when you dine here. Lol.
It is a very nice place to sit outside and enjoy your lunch or evening food. The sitting area is really nice and the view is also good. The outside sitting area is not recommended for winter you will definitely freeze yourself up. The food seemed a bit overpriced for some items. I took the Mojitos and it was very average and it felt overpriced for that. Next I took the fried Calamari and Jumbo Shrimp for appetizer. The Calamari tasted really good with hot sauce. The Jumbo shrimp was served with cheese, which didn’t go along with my taste. Then for the main dish I ordered one of their combo which contained half lobster, scallops, shrimp along with black and white mussels. Served with a good portion of pasta. The pasta tasted really good and I would highly recommend this dish
Good vibes, nice view, great service and reasonable price but the food was not as good as what we expected. We were a party of 2 adults and 1 toddler and ordered three appetizers and one entree, 3 cocktails and 1 slush to share. One cocktail came as free, since the bartender used the wrong base at the beginning and made the correct one for us, so only 2 cocktails were charged. Fried calamari was overcooked, baked clams were alright but snow crabs in crab pot weren't fresh enough, king crabs were good though, lobster Mac n cheese was the best among all dishes and cost less than $20, but a bit salty. Final bill came out $130ish before tip, way below what we expected, surprisingly low for a seafood restaurant. Overall experience was 7/10. Normally I would rate it three stars but given I got the free drink, I added one more. Would give it another try if I am there.
My family comes here often. It was bought a few years back and the food got so Much better in the sit down restaurant side. The grilled octopus salad is enough to share and is super delicious. The lobster tacos are filled with a lot of lobster and are seasoned well. The clam bake is very generous. The crab cakes are great. The wait staff is usually very good and friendly. Overall a great place to dine. In the nicer weather it's great to sit outside to dine!
Was looking for a nice spot for some seafood and this is that place. Has that nice seafood place vibe and we sat out back on the water. For appetizers went with the Rock Shrimp and the Crab cake which were excellent choices. The sweet chili sauce on the shrimp was delicious. Wanted the soft shell crab but it was not in season so went with the lobster wrap. It was good, although it said it had bacon but I didn't taste any. Our waitress was good, attentive and quick to see when we needed something.
A great place for date night, or family dinners, you can't go wrong at Peter's! Located right on the waterway, it's beautiful scenery while enjoying dinner and good company. We stopped by over the weekend to have dinner with the family when celebrating a birthday. Everything came out great, and everyone was happy. The service was great, we were take care of immediately. There were several dishes ordered, but I had the lobster mac and cheese along with the surf and turf. The Mac and cheese were really good. The surf and turf was cooked how we liked it, and it was tender and flavorful. Definitely a must try if you're looking for an evening dinner place, or even a lunch date.
This was a great spur of the moment spot. After a wonderful beach day, being able to chow down on the amazing lobster Mac and cheese hit the spot. Portion sizes were huge, the food came out so fast, and the water front view was relaxing! The side salad game was below average for how great the entrees are. But outside of that it was a great spot
First time my family and I went to Peter’s Clam Bar for dinner and it was nice. The atmosphere was very homely and the staff was friendly. We ordered multiple dishes and it was amazing except for the Fried sea food combo and it was all batter. Also, we had to keep asking to refill our glass with water. Other than that everything else was good. The portions were huge and great prices.

This seafood place is very overpriced. Also the octopus salad was over cooked. The scallops were good the sides over cooked. Service was good. If you go she’ll fish go to the counter. Better and cheaper in the end.
I ordered the stuffed lobster tails, but they weren't stuffed. They just threw a smashed crab cake on top. The potatoes were terrible. Lobster tacos are cold and like tunafish. The lobster bisque wasn't bad but kinda watery. The service was great and friendly, but I don't think I'll venture back. At least not on my dime.
Service was very good. The staff was pleasant. Can't say that for all the food. Crab cakes and baked claws very bready and not enjoyable. The lobster bisque was good.

Food was tasteless. The fish and chips was so bad. And it tasted like whiting not flounder! Shrimp no taste at all. The food was soggy. The only thing wasn't that bad was the oyster! Over rated. The toilets was not working.
Great View, Terrible Taste. Visited last weekend and left genuinely disappointed. The seafood pasta tasted like it came from a dollar store box overcooked, underseasoned, and missing half the lobster it promised. The lobster tacos? I’ve had canned tuna that tasted better. Appetizers? Flavorless. Ambience? Also flavorless except for the view, which was the only thing worth savoring
We passed by here many times but never went in until today. Being that it was a beautiful day we wanted to eat outside by the water. We entered the restaurant and I said pleasantly " hi, this is our first time here". Met with a blank stare from hostess. Oh well who are we I guess. The girl who took us to the seats didn't crack a smile and seemed serious and indifferent. Oh well . The waitress came. Finally someone friendly and nice. I ordered a $ 17 frozen margarita that barely had any liquor and was served in a small glass. My wife passed on the 10 dollar beers and got a summer ale. We ordered the lobster Mac and cheese which was great and the seafood plate for 35 bucks. Lots of ok tasting clam strips, some undercooked thick scallops, 1 small tasty fried founder, some fried shrimp that were of low quality, it came with a cheap diner quality sad looking coleslaw and a small cup of tartar sauce that was very firm. You couldn't dip your food in it You had to shmear it. And one little cup for all that fried seafood. Oh and obligatory fries. Definitely no vale la pena as they say in Spanish. Nice view of water and they probably coast on that fact. Hard to get a good water view and great food. They don't even have a happy hour. We will never go back. 100 bucks wasted
Ate at the counter, order part of the restaurant. The overall experience was very subpar. The was a bit disappointing. It took 45 minutes to get a shrimp scampi dish. This was after returning a fried fish and fries dish because it had a very strong fishy smell and taste. Not fresh. One soft shell crab and fries were $26. My wife had the clam sauce over pasta. Left the whole dish on the table practically untouched. No favor, and the clams were too rubbery. And I have to mention the almost $4 each for bottled water.
Ordered food at 8:12 pm food arrives at our table at 9:21pm. Slow service, table next to us finished their dinner. Table reset, new diners come to table, order their appetizer and dinner and get food before us. Checked with server and told maybe the food they ordered cooked sooner. We get done after 10:15pm not good when you have an 8 year old. And people that have to work the next day. The food was okay, but after waiting so long we wanted just to go home.

We used to be regulars in this place, but not anymore! The food was great, very fresh seafood as always. The most outrageous part was the service. The birthday was completely ruined, with special thanks to the manager. We ordered a bottle of white wine, and the waitress asked twice which wine we wanted. At the end of the dinner, we checked the bill, and we were charged for the wrong wine (which was not even on the menu!!). We politely asked to check the bill, and the manager's behaviour was completely outrageous, and I've never seen anything like that. He was blaming us that we didn't check the wine we were drinking. We said that even if we ordered a more expensive wine, what he brought was not that (the menu said 2015, and they brought us 2020 wine). He tried to argue that 2020 is the same as 2015 and basically created a huge scene in the middle of the restaurant. This was the most unprofessional and rude behaviour I've ever seen. We had to pay for the wine just to end this nightmare, which is a complete scam. Thanks a lot for ruining our birthday celebration.
I just spent 112 dollars at Peter's Clam Bar… def one of the WORST EXPERIENCES I EVER HAD. my chicken parm came with watery sauce, the linguine tasted like it’d been sitting out for three hours. the seafood fra diavolo came with enough sand and water to cover half of island park beach. the sodas, you will be charged for every one of them. the wait staff was HORRIBLE AND UNATTENTIVE. . they really Don’t love their jobs and it shows. pathetic and disappointing. the waitress would’ve gotten a better tip if she would’ve actually done more than take our order. she even asked if we wanted the change. the other servers all hid in the bathroom until closing. worst food and service ever. don’t ask for extra lemons or an extra dressing cause you’ll for sure get a chuff and an attitude. will never come back here. such a sad thing to happen to a small town place.
First of all, they don't give you any bread at the start of your meal. They also brought out the appetizers at the same time as the entree. For it to be called a clam bar, you would think the clams would be good. BUT THERE NOT. I got baked clams, They had no flavor at all. I couldn't even eat them. I took it to go to give a homeless person. Then the crab cake was a bit better except for pieces of shell or bone or whatever that was I was biting every few moments. Then I had a Caesar salad with skirt steak. That was the best thing I had and the reason they even get 1 star. But overall, stay away NOT WORTH THE MONEY. I feel bad for the waitress,. She was nice. I can't blame her for the food being bad. Her service was good.
I had a very disappointing experience at Peter’s Clam Bar. I ordered the baked clams and they were the worst part: there was no clam inside—just bread and more bread. Overall, the food was bad, tasteless, and not fresh. I don’t understand how a place that specializes in seafood can serve something like that. I won’t be coming back, and I don’t recommend it.
4% Credit Card Fee? This must be a joke especially when the meals are upwards of $40. This sign should be posted at the door. Cocktails for $18 and a glass of wine for $16? Feels like I'm being duped for a neighborhood spot that thinks they're out in Manhattan. I remember this place being busy, it was scarce for a Saturday night and I'm sure these prices and 4% credit card fees got something to do with it. Try the other neighborhood spots.
