My favorite Jamaican spot for about a year now. Tasty fooodddd. I had dumplings green beans white yam, Markerel and peanut porridge. Lisa is an amazing young lady who is warm and have a lot of patience. Whenever she is in I enjoy my food even more. Not that the team is not great but Lisa kindness stand out... These chefs are serious about bringing you the best food and overall I think management doing a great job. You want island food? Head there.

The cow foot soup is excellent but they have to serve it hotter. Mine was lukewarm. They should post the cost of the meals on this site. I am back again today for 2026. The chicken soup waa excellent but again lukewarm. I asked the server to put in microwave which she graciously did. However one sticking point: too much chatter over the open food..one couole came in and argued about the prices and the servers went on too long with them allowing them at least half hout of chatter in which one server made a scream that hurt my ears. I begged them to stop n covered my ears but I guess they didn't hear my puny voice. They continued. Horrible chatter . Pls dont allow the customers to do this .Just get on professionally with the next customer or if there are no other customers the servers should excuse themselves n go away for a couole minutes until these chatty customers make up their minds what they wanted. The male customer was the worse of the couple so thar the woman kept changing her mind. If they cant pay they shouldn't be allowed to make so much noise nor should the servers Engage them for too long since they are not buying but haggling about prices..TOO MUCH SPITTLE by Staff in response to these noise makers. Walk them out until they are ready to buy ..HALF AN HOUR !! MY GOD!! THIS IS NOT CORONATION MARKET..JUST HORRIBLE!!!

The big woman supervisor in yellow or red blouse, is always so polite, courteous, friendly, professional, goes above and beyond, and the list goes on about her. I wish the staff wearing the blue shirt would take a leave out of her book. They're at most times grumpy and sulky. They need to wear a smile always behind the mask. They're a big turn off.

I thought that the porridge was lumpy but it was not. It was oatmeal porridge and the server did not ask it I wanted cornmeal or oatmeal porridge. She should have asked I would have known the difference

The food is average. The customer service is crude. The servers have nasty attitudes and are hostile. Answer customer questions with sarcasm and acts as if customers are a bother to them.

The food is generally tasty but todays service was terrible! As the line grew longer and longer, half the staff just continued to chat and laugh (and yell about bun and cheese) as one lady struggled to serve customers by herself. The awful part - the woman who was leading the chatting and ignoring the long line appears to be a manager of some sorts. Smh.

Best cowfoot and goat head soap out there. Buying two soup for almost $25.00 and ask for no dumpling it comes with extra dumpling no meat crease fat on top. For the price you guys been slacking same order and it's my third time a mess. Did you change cook and server because not getting the same like before. 9 dumpling in a soup when you ask for none. Say that you don't have it and give the people back them money. Who wants broth and nine dumpling only for almost $25.

My patty was already bagged, and ready for me to pay. I was getting one item. She wants to cross check if I was in the line. A group of women came after me. There was one man infront, he told me to go ahead, as he had a long order, still being prepared. But the way she asked, was if I did something wrong. Just a lot of unnecessary attitude. I prefer the spot, closer to the train station. Better , more friendly workers.

I came to order two pieces of Coco bread and prior to purchasing I asked two different ladies if it was warm. Once I leave store it is not warm and do not find it to taste like Coco bread. I would've went to the grocery store if I wanted regular bread. Jamaican Flavors has the true coco bread.

The JAMAICAN or Caribbean taste and flavor I go there for is no longer Authentic, so there's no need to return. I used to be able to trace the restaurant by the aroma of good food but yesterday, even inside the door, there's only a faint aroma of food. The taste is bland and garlicky, the rice and peas wet, jerk chicken is burnt, oxtail is bland and too fatty. Steady decline of quality in the the last few years. The two ladies seem overworked for customer service so the atmosphere is crisp. 2 stars is for the effort to keep the store open and extra bag. Just FYI and improvement.

I am sorry but their food is horrible. I was on Jamaica ave on August 26th and had the taste for some curry goat. I went here. I was so disappointed. The food was so packed with salt I could not even eat it. I could not even taste the food itself because I was so overcome with salt. I had to throw it out. Like they just picked up the salt and poured without measure or consideration that they are feeding the public and not just themselves. They must be looking to kill people with high blood. If you have high blood pressure don't go here. Not to mention the attitude on top of the already horrible salty food. I will stick to other choices in dishes next time I am on the ave.

Its sad to say that my experience was HORRIBLE!! Yesterday around 12-12:30pm i went to this golden crust to get a small curry goat which was uncooked and VERY RED! I did not see how uncooked the food was until i made it back to work down the block, i even asked MULTIPLE PEOPLE THEIR OPINION AND EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM SAID THE CURRY GOAT WAS UNCOOKED..I walked back to golden crust and i respecfully asked if i can get a different meat and just pay the difference because i am pregnant and i cant risk eating uncooked meats. THE SUPERVISOR STARTED ARGUING WITH ME ABOUT HOW THE FOOD WAS COOKED AND I RESPECTFULLY TOLD HER THAT MAY BE HER PREFERENCE BUT I CANT EAT THAT. I ASKED FOR MY MONEY BACK THEN SHE STATED, “nobody needs your money” AND SHE STARTED YELLING AT ME, BEING PETTY ASKING FOR MY RECEIPT, INVOLVING OTHER CUSTOMERS INTO THE SITUATION WHICH WAS HIGHLY INAPPROPRIATE AND EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. I NEVER EXPERIENCED SUCH NASTY CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER IN MY LIFE ESPECIALLY FROM SOMEONE WHO CALLS THEMSELVES A “SUPERVISOR. Customer service is extremely poor. Total rip-off. $40 for food I couldn't even eat. The fish was overcooked and hard as a rock, the rice was off, and the soup was a complete mess. The pictures are very misleading—it looks disgusting in person. I didn't even share a photo because the food was too unappetizing to look at. I’ve had consistently positive experiences at other Golden Krust locations, which is why this visit was particularly disappointing. While the gentleman assisting us was welcoming and accommodating, the overall experience at this specific location was negatively impacted by poor customer service from other staff members. The interaction surrounding something as simple as pepper sauce and basic dining utensils set the tone. Initially, we were told pepper sauce was unavailable, only for it to later be given to us without issue, which was confusing. I ordered a large oxtail platter with rice and peas, mac and cheese, and vegetables, planning to dine in and share the meal with my son. When the food arrived, we were provided only one fork despite eating in the restaurant. When my father politely requested an extra fork and plate, he was informed that there would be a $0.70 charge. This was surprising given that we had already spent close to $50 on a single meal and beverages. The situation escalated unnecessarily into a back-and-forth discussion rather than being handled with courtesy or explanation. At no point was a clear policy presented—only the statement, “it’s a rule.” As someone who works in management, I found the lack of professionalism and willingness to de-escalate particularly troubling. When the manager became involved, the interaction unfortunately turned into an argument rather than an attempt to resolve the concern or retain us as customers. Ultimately, my father requested and received a refund for his order, and his food was taken back. Ironically, shortly afterward, I was given a fork at no charge, which made the prior insistence on charging for basic utensils even more confusing. Charging customers dining in for essential utensils—especially without clear signage or explanation—is unreasonable, and the confrontational approach taken by management further diminished the experience. Customer service should be about accommodation and clarity, not conflict. To be clear, this review applies only to this particular location. Other Golden Krust restaurants I’ve visited have been delicious and provided excellent customer service. Unfortunately, due to this experience, I would not recommend this specific establishment to anyone who values respectful service, consistency, and an authentic dining experience.

I’ve heard so many bad things about this place, particularly the attitude of the staff, but I just decided to try it myself.I walked into golden crust on Jamaica Ave near 164th wanting to buy a patty. When i walked in, the lady with the glasses looked right at me. I got on the line and waited to buy a patty. When I reached the front, the tall lady said with an attitude,no cutting the line miss. I was like what? Then the lady with the glasses asked if I was on the line, also with a weird attitude . I said yes. Then both ladies proceeded to ask the whole store if I was online or not. So I refused to spend money there and I just walked out. DO NOT GO THERE. The attitudes and humiliation was unnecessary for some patties 🙄. if I could give zero stars I would.

I just left this Golden Krust and I had a horrible experience. I was in there for merely 30 seconds hlwever within this 30 seconds alot went down. The staff was awesome however not a smile on none of their faces..(which I blame their managers horrible work attitude for this) the manager who was cleaning the floor with NO GLOVES had a huge issue with how slow the guy behind the counter was putting my patty together. She yells at him infront of a full restaurant to "hurry up" but like lady thats not how you talk to people and treat YOUR staff that break their back everyday while you sit in a ac room still somehow being miserable. I'm in my car now, feeling bad for the workers and ready to eat my patty. Now why in the world was there LITERALLY A PIECE OF IDEK WHAT THIS IS in my coco bread and patty. Customer service is horrible here! On multiple occasion I have been here due to convenience, not by a choice and its the same disrespectful and slow service every time and its not even by the staff its the loud mouth "manager" .She lashes out on her patrons when she's under pressure and under staff which is unacceptable. If you can't handle a management role please step down. She's jovial when she feel like and its mostly with men patrons… they're able to skip the line. Nothing professional about her. There's no reason why I know she's 50 something struggling in the dating scene or struggle with the store light bill .. she nice when she's in a good mood other wise she's rude and nasty when things are not running smooth which has nothing to do with her paying customers. My experience was at the Golden Krust caribbean restaurant buying just a sweet bun with no food and the lady was very rude saying am cutting in front of the line when I was standing in front of her for twenty minute by the register where the sweet bun was sitting behind her. From my experience visiting new York people have very rude behavior and have very bad customer services. I live in Texas we treated our customers with show respect and kindness, meeting your customers’ needs in a timely, efficient, and pleasant way.
