Stopped at O’Neals for dinner at JFK Terminal 8. We had a wonderful server named Felix. He went above and beyond helping us with our order!!! The food was delicious and the place had a great atmosphere. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Great “pub like” environment! Our server was super friendly. They don’t have a cocktail menu, we just told our server just what we wanted and they make it. He actually made ours personally and they were good. The Mac & cheese was the best. The first to items I ordered they were out of so I ordered the chicken tacos. Not what I wanted, but was good…. Not great😕. After we finished our cocktails, I asked for 2 waters… our server thought we asked for “2 more” and brought a second round☹️$35 dollars later, we were done. The bill came out to $155 with tip🤮.
For an airport restaurant this place was pretty good! Service was attentive and was very friendly even when the place was packed with travelers. The drink selection and beer selection was good, drinks were cold and the adult beverages took the edge off! The food was good. Yeah the prices are high, but your in an airport in NY....it's expected.
Stuck with a 4hr layover & Bobby Vans spot is closed. The options for a decent meal & stiff drink are slim to none. Ive passed O'Neals' on a number of occasions I layover in JFK, left with no choice this time I went in. The staff is attentive & friendly, & most importantly the food was good, my garden salad was fresh & plentiful & my kimchi chicken tacos were very tasty. I had to revise my Martini with simple syrup but otherwise a solid experience. Counting it as a win!
Food nothing to write home about. I had pulled pork sandwich. Hubby ordered chicken sandwich minus the bacon. Sandwich came with bacon anyway. Expensive for what you get. Typical in American airports. I find it a rare thing to find a decent restaurant in an airport. At least we are no longer hungry.
2.7 stars. Nothing like paying $100 for some airport food, but hey, when they have you by the huevos, you pay. Turkey burger was decent. Chicken tenders were good. Chopped beef sandwich was fatty. The B.L.A.S.T. was alright. Service was standard. Anyways, it was functional. Probably opt for the Shake Shack instead.
A suitable , quiet place to eat in JFK post security. Food was nice, warm. Expensive, but you’re in a busy airport! Service was quick, friendly, efficient. Easy to order from a QR code on the table. Not a gourmet restaurant and doesn’t claim to me. Does a good job as an airport pub.
Truly the worst airport restaurant I have ever been to. Waiting 15 minutes to be sat down, not due to lack to tables but lack of staff. Staff just ignored the queue it people waiting to be seated. Customers just walking away because they were fed up. Then when the staff were ready, they just told you to sit anywhere and looked at you like why are you queueing. Food was actually good, maybe the owners should employ some more staff and they would get through alot more customers.
They have nice tenders trying to compensate the shittiest order system via web-app. You pay up-front, and then wait... and wait... indeed, exactly the system you'd hate before boarding into a plain.
I’m being generous rolling out 3 stars for ambience for the Terminal 8 O’Neals’. You’re not in Ireland. You’re not even in Midtown Manhattan. You’re in Hell. Foot should be zero stars. Do not even think about ordering or eating anything from the seafood section. I watched the bartender “rinse” the used glasses and drain them on the drip mat before reusing them. If that’s not a hotbed of communicable disease, then nothing is. The service has moments of enthusiasm. Amazingly, O’Neals’ is busy. Why? Because it’s the only place that’s not a duty free store or a Hudson News in the whole Of terminal 8. Get it together, airport management corporation. Lame.
Incredibly understaffed on a Saturday and the staff had no sense of urgency. Tables were not cleared and cleaned for 45 minutes while there was a waiting line down the terminal and new patrons sat at dirty tables waiting for their orders (and the dirty tables remained even after the orders came out).
Subpar eatery / bar that takes advantage of its monopoly in this part of the terminal. Tired, grumpy, unresponsive staff (not just their fault: management shd hire more people). They stop taking orders at 10. Ordered beer at 9:57; paid for it via the online ordering system. Even tipped 20%. Inquired at 10:14. Waitress says I shd ask other waitress, and makes no effort to help. Other waitress nowhere to be seen. Ran out of time to have my 14 dollar plus tax plus tips can of Sam Adams. Sitty, understaffed joint.
This place is a disgrace. The worst airport breakfast I’ve ever had, and I’ve been around the world enough to know when I’m being hustled. Twenty-eight bucks plus tip for burnt, brittle toast, bone-dry home fries, and service that felt like the staff were plotting their escape. The eatery, if I can call it that, reeked of indifference and contempt. For the same money, you could go to Starbucks and actually get a smile along with something edible. Don’t waste your time or your money. This isn’t breakfast—it’s extortion with a side of toast.
Seat yourself, we'll hand you a tablet if you can't use the QR code but we'll never give a refill. Your apps will show up the same time as the rest of your food. I could have spent my 74 dollars else where. My fries tasted like they had been cooked with fish. I regret not looking at the ratings prior to ordering and then being forced to pay for a tip when they just cleared my table.
No one was at the bar but a spray bottle was so I wiped down my seat because it needed it Bartender refused to serve me without using the QR code and then pre-tipping. Receipt goes through as bartender cleans glasses and then leaves. I wait for 4 minutes (yes, timed him) before he came back to pour my beer. Sandwich came out 31 minutes later and (shockingly) it was cold. And I had a bone in my $23 chicken sandwich This place is absolutely horrible. Go eat anywhere else. Customer service is non-existent. QR codes rule their world and nothing else and it was stupid expensive
Beer was great but expensive. I dont think I’ve had a worse experience ordering before. Staff was not present, once served after long waiting time paying seemd optional? The moment we was seated, we had to hurry up because they were closing.. On an airport when time is a big factor, this can’t be the service!
